Grand Sunset Princess: Very good overall.

Nice, well appointed suites. Lots of Canadians...a plus!! Platinum section worth upgrade with good value with own pool . bar, lobby, lounge, concierge etc. Staff excellent, very friendly a wanting to please with excellent service. Beach shore was nice, but rather rocky in water for swimming. Food generally quite good, plenty of selection and most specialty restaurants generally good. Only negatives, since previous visit (5 years ago): Platinum section not adult only, (was before) so Platinum po [... read more]ol area noisier with small children when main pool(s) are very close by; Requested King Bed Suite with reservation, but got 2 double beds...staff tried to fix best they could by pushing together, but not the same; Reservations for specialty restaurants rather difficult to obtain, often despite the restaurant being over half empty at times and days requested (rumor was staff shortages forced hotel to restrict availability to maintain service level. Maybe cost containment measure, don't know. Perhaps Platinum guests should get better access at least. Usual hotel problem of guests holding pool chairs with towels all day, when seldom if ever use those chairs, loungers. 7 a.m.most desirable seats, despite big pools and lots of loungers, are 'taken' with towels, but empty. Must be a better way. Wife enjoyed spa, massage. Overall very good value, solid 4 star.

Riu Tequila: overall exelent value

Even if its an older hotel, it was in excellent shape, very clean, spacious room with a well stock bar. Buffet restaurant was amazing so we did not bother to wait in line to get in at one of the 3 restaurants. Small walk to the beach and if you don't or cant the have a shuttle. once there plenty of chairs, bar. superb pool and restaurant at our disposal. Best feature for us, you can walk 2km either by the beach or street to playa del Carmen.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Jaw Dropping!

My visit to this resort was for a destination wedding (my boyfriend's brother was the Groom). The ceremony took place on a private beach area on the resort and it was a picture perfect location to have a beach wedding! In my opinion this resort is jaw dropping in both beauty and size! We stayed for a week. I highly suggest bringing some snorkel gear with you as you can do this activity on the beaches and you have the opportunity to see manta rays, sea turtles and different kinds of fish! The gro [... read more]unds are kept very clean as well as the rooms (and everything else)! The food selection at the buffet is excellent. I'm a veggie and there was more then enough food selection for myself. If you book an a la carte dinner (which I highly suggest) they usually have vegetarian options on the menu as well. Also for the omnivores out there I was told the meat is great (this review comes from my meat eating boyfriend and his family)! The nightly entertainment was also very good and we always tried to catch the shows whenever possible. There is a pre-show for those of you who have little ones before the main show at 9:30PM. The entire resort staff I came into contact with were all very friendly and accommodating with any requests we had. I highly recommend this resort and I can't wait to go back!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Family Resort

Food & service fantastic.....excellent kids club & water park! The food & services are 4 star! Main pool should be 3 times bigger..... Check-in is terrible ..... Need to communicate with new guests better then everything would have flowed better - once check-in was done . ...... Great time!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

Clean rooms , excellent service at the beach and pool people are amazingly nice , always there to help us , I had my mother with me and she uses a walker , every time she was out for herself , any golf cart stop by her asking her where she wanted to go and they always took her wher she wanted to go and then came back to pick her up.

Grand Sunset Princess: Great weather

The hotel management staff were pretty useless when it came to a problem. They did nothing. The service staff for the most part were excellent when they weren't walking off the job, I believe due to management issues, or when they weren't stealing from your wedding function.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Wonderful magical resort

I will always be in love with this resort,I first came here in 2008 just after the death of my beloved husband,I needed to get away alone for a while so the coba helped me heal from my grief. I would indeed recommend mend this hotel and do to everyone I know,it is a peaceful place for me and great place to unwind and recharge.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Amazing location!

The hotel is located on one of the best beaches. The resturants were wonderful . I really had the most wonderful time! The only thing I would have change is the rooms need upgrading. The are a bit dated... And the typical mustiness was present.the staff is wonderful , issues were resolve quickly! Overall a good hotel can't wait to go back!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Sandos

Didn't really like this resort the service was terrible the staff really made you feel unwelcome and a burden..food was always cold.long lines at the bar.the bug bite are really bad to the point that I spent three days in the room swollen and blistered with ice on my legs and feet I wouldn't send any one I know here.only good for kids and even hat was lacking in most areas

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice resort

The grounds were beautiful and food was great. The restaurants were excellent. The service was very good.The downsides were swimming/snorkeling area was very small. Outside the barriers it was too rough and rocky to swim.

The resort was amazing. Everything from the staff to the location to even the weather were perfect. The shows they put on at the resort were fantastic. Air Transat in london didn't seem to have everything together as we were delayed for an hour when leaving for cancun because of a catering truck and when we got back early we were delayed again because the baggage unloader broke. The only negative parts of the trip were Air transats delays(with no compensation I might add) and the check out of th [... read more]e hotel was a bit spazzy. Overall a fantastic trip.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing spot

We loved our stay at this resort ...beautiful rooms , beautiful beach , beautiful people that work there and food was excellent . Cant say anything bad about this resort wish I was still there :( but can't wait to go back next year !!!!!!

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great resort

The resort is a paradise with a beautiful beach and breath taking ocean views. The staff is very friendly and helpful when waiting on you or giving directions. The food was fabulous in both the a la carte and the buffets. All in all our experience at the Grand Palladium was exceptional.

Grand Sunset Princess: Great time

Beautiful resort, wedding department needs someone manning the emails everyday as it's frustrating for a bride. Also, wedding department needs a dress rehearsal for the weddings to ensure song placement etc as mine was totally backwards and one missing. Kid zone looks awesome!! Wish the pools were open til 10pm as most excursions end at 6:30pm and there just isn't time to cool off after supper.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort

The grounds were well kept, the food was great and the staff were very attentive. This is a great resort for gluten free diets, best gf crepes we've ever had. We also enjoyed the meals in all of the restaurants and they would make any modifications to most things on the menu. The beach was never crowded and there were lots of chairs in the sun and shade. The beach was also great for taking long walks.

Catalonia Yucatan: Room and hallways very clean grounds well kept

Yes it's was a lovely place I would recommend it but if you ate looking for a great beach as this beach was nice but rocky but we were a where of that weather was great drinks where good meet a lot of people good time ..

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great trip!

We had a lot of fun at the Bluebay but if your looking for a good beach this place will not be for you. Lots of sea weed and sand bags. Aside from that though, it was one of cleanest resorts/hotels I have stayed at. The food was great - lots to choose from. The staff were wonderful as well! There from time to time was a weird sewage smell it different parts of the resort but we were not too bothered by it. The other pool is by the beach and much louder. Down there they play music and games!

Overall the place was spectacular. ..very friendly staff ..food was fabulous (the main buffet was the best place for any meal) rooms are large. ..lots of wild critters to see...not much of a beach but it was great snorkeling! We will be returning one day!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Very family oriented, tons to do!

We went with another couple, spent 10 days there and still did not see/do all they had to offer. Their focus on the Mayan culture and the Eco activities was a nice,yet different touch. It would be a great place to take kids or a large group. They work hard to keep the place clean. We liked that you didn't have to make reservations for the a la cartes, and the most we waited was about 40 minutes -time to have a "before dinner" drink! The only disappointment was how rocky the water at the beach wa [... read more]s, very difficult to swim in but being able to visit the other Sandos resort which had a gorgeous beach, made up for that.

Sandos Select Club: Great Resort

The Resort was very well maintained the staff was very helpful in all our needs. Food was amazing and the beach was excellent. Great deal of variation for dinner lunch buffet by the swim up bar was excellent and bar tenders were great.
