Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Best Vacation Ever!!!

We had a fantastic time at this resort . We stayed in the Amber 2 which was quieter then the other two. Our room was large and included everything we needed. The service throughout the entire resort was fantastic. The staff was attentive and extremely helpful. The buffets and restaurants were all good and well organized . The transportation around the resorts took a bit to get used to but once we figured it out it was easy. There was so much to do. The beach was extremely crowded but it was too  [... read more]beautiful not to enjoy. We did the Dr. Fish Spa trip which was by far the best experience we have ever had. We had 10 glorious days with a total of 20 mins of rain. We will certainly go back!

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Wonderful Resort

You want to go on vacation to a High Class Resort without breaking the bank, this is the resort of your dreams. Best resort thus far since our history of travels. The people, the service, all impeccable, awesome and amazing. Everyone is always eager to assist you, especially the servers at the Main and Beach buffets's were awesome and attentive. Have to say there was wind at the beach everyday, but this did not bother me because when you are seeking the attention of the sun, you definitely need some cooling off. The rooms were good and very clean. The only thing that I found negative was the week we were there, the hotel was booked solid and the availabilty of seats in the dining room and out in the La Plaza, were very limited. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice on the surface, lacking in substance.

With many hotels in one only the VIPs get the service you would expect from a highly rated hotel. With so many people you are treated like a cash crop, and herded from one place to another. Wallet massage included.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort!

What can we say, this resort pretty much had it all: super clean, cruise amount and variety of food & much food made to order, great beach (though frustrating to get beach chair), pristine grounds, overall staff were good

Caribe Deluxe Princess: great resort

Beaches were amazing. The grounds were clean and the food was very good. Rooms need a little update but in all they were very comfortable. The staff was very good at keeping the visitors entertained. The afternoon bbq was amazing.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: We will be back!

Felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. Very clean resort. Entertainment value is a 5+. Food was just ok, not bad but not great. We will certainly return here. Group of 7 and all of us had a fantastic vacation.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Awesome resort!

This place was amazing! We had a great time, enjoyed the beautiful resort and beach. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to please the guest. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would definitely love to go back.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Disappointment

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago-----5 stars absolutely and no complaints We decided to give it another go----we have been to the Carribbean nineteen times and this is the first time that we went back to a previous booking----not again. The positives-- Food good to very good espicially the two Italian restaurants and the French one called Oliva(try the chateau-briand--outstanding). Gardens----excellent Wait staff----good to to very good with one exception Beach----very good, but I am getting  [... read more]a wee bit old to get up 6:30 to scramble for two lounge chairs by the pool or ocean front.At the Melia----about two klicks south----they don't allow this----yeah! Pool and pool bar good to very good. The negatives--- When we arrived---late on a Sunday night----we needed to scramble to get a bite to eat----checked in-----wanted to lock our room up tight as we had expensive gizmos with us----quickly found out that the lock on our patio door was broken and the safe had no imstructions as to to use it-----phoned the desk----sent to a guy to patch the door lock and another who didn't show us how to lock the safe----you would think that a house manager would double check the room---nope. The next day, after four phone calls, we got the safe to work ,but the mini frig was dead. The next day , the lock failed again----another patch job and no replacement and the mini frig remained dead. three more phone calls and on the last one, I was told that none of these frigs worked but they would send ice if we wanted it----liar----I asked many people if their frigs worked---yup. The next day I went to the frront desk and spoke with Fabio---told him of our concerns----he listened politely----yup he would look into it-----you guessed it ----nothing happened. I could on and on----the rude wait staff who wouldn't clear our table at the beach front buffet, the drivers who are suppose to know where they are going and drop you off at the wrong place and etc. Management and commication need a HUGE overhaul----will we go back-no and it is like so much in life -----buyer be aware or once burned, twice shy. Try the Melia-----fabulous

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Good resort

Traveled with husband, 14 year old daughter and 70 year old mother in law, good resort very big a lot of walking. Resort is showing it's age needs upgrading. The beds a very hard, rooms were kept clean, staff very friendly, food was plenty and very good, evening shows just ok very repetitive.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Simply Amazing!

This was our first time in the Dominican. We traveled without our children but with 3 other couples. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was great. The rooms and the resort were very clean. There was lots of staff always around if you needed something. Over all it was great and I would recommend it even with children.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great week great place

The hotel was amazing. Great staff, always friendly and helpful. Food quality and selection are topnotch. Grounds,pools,rooms and beach all well kep't . Nothing negative to say. Lots of things to do. Loved the shows.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing vacation!

After reading all the negative reviews on trip advisor, we had some regrets after booking this resort. However, our 1 week vacation at the Be Live was amazing! The food and the service were both great. We had an older room but nothing to complain about; bed and bathroom were clean. The beach was dirty at times (ocean water that is) but we just needed to walk a bit further to have access to beautiful turquoise water. This is one of the only all-inclusive resorts that I would actually consider booking again.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Great Facility

The facility and of course beaches are excellent. The meals were average to good. The Steak House was the highlight. The cook on the spot features in the buffet were really good each night. The grounds are extremely well kept.

I'm not one to complain BUT... this will probably be the last time I go to DR. HEED MY ADVICE!!!! Spend the extra money and go to a different hotel or different country. LOCK YOUR VALUABLES!!!!!!! I read this before going and made sure I did during the day. We left the room to go to the disco at night FOR TWO HOURS, I forgot my phone on the night table, when we returned my brand new $400 phone was gone from the room. Here's my break down... Check in - Great no problems here. Donald got us chec [... read more]ked in quickly with no hassles Room - needed some love. Beds were hard, pillows extra soft, sheets clean. TV has about 5 English channels with light snow. We were on the Tropical side. Bathroom - half glass bathtub door was a nuisance and needed to add extra water to flush. Water smelt a bit like sewer water. Bars - great, staff was nice and efficient Drinks - not a mixed drink person, rum and sprite was good and they let us fill up half the water bottle to take back to the room Food - not a picky eater but by day 3 we were living off of bread and fries. Al a carts were great (Japanese, steakhouse and Italian). Thank God for those because it helped us get through. This was the FIRST time I lost weight on a beach vacation. Weather - good, one day of rain Beach - beautiful Chairs - you snooze you lose Waterslides - FUN!!! no line ups. The first lunch we had there was nice, the second time it was as though the food was heated up from the day previous. Tips (if you STILL insist on going) - make sure you lock your valuables - walk with mosquito repellant (even with this I ended up with about 30 bites) - walk with a travel mug for drinks (for beach and to take back to the room) - tips take you a long way ($1 for every meal/drink works) - walk with snacks (chips, bread, chocolate) - MAKE SURE YOU LOCK YOUR VALUABLES

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing Resort

We were booked to stay at the Grand Bahia Punta Cana and upon arrival we got upgraded to the Luxury Esmerelda which was a treat. Beautiful pools, grounds and rooms were so clean and always being manicured cleaned by staff 24hrs a day. The food here was delicious and staff were so welcoming and attentive. The whole resort was huge but awesome because there was so much to do and see. There is trolley service that runs every 5 mins if you don't want to walk from your resort to theatre, etc...so ppl really can't complain about how big resort is. You are fully accommodated in every section of resort. Beach was also great- clean, white sand, and sandy bottom where you swim. Constantly being raked and you can really see the difference this resort is with cleanliness, fun, and the beach compared to the Riu right beside it. This resort is big and very busy....but if you have trouble getting lawn chairs throughout day or beach chairs, just ask the guys on the beach and they will go grab you some and place them wherever you want. We 100% recommend this resort. We would never stay at the same resort twice BUT we will definitely be going back to this resort!

Whala Bavaro: An okay, no frills hotel.

Well we had a wonderful time because the weather was awesome but the Whala was very basic and just okay. It was clean and staff are great. Buffet is the usual... blah after about day 2. Ala carte restaurant - only once. Food was so salty was almost inedible so never went back. The beach bar is the only evening "entertainment" and after 11:00 pm you have to pay for drinks! Have never seen that before and have done lots of all inclusives. Very quiet and laid back place... no night shows and no day [... read more]time pool entertainment. Within walking distance of a few bars so that was nice to get out once in a while. Felt safe walking there. There are no ATMs close by at all. They exchange US to pesos at the desk but you can't buy any currency. Most places don't take credit card. We did a snorkelling excursion to Catalina island and stopped at a gas station on the way where I was finally able to get some pesos. Direct flight was awesome but we arrived very late in the day (9:00 pm) on arrival (so didn't use the facilities really at all) and were departing late in the day on the final day but we had to pay an extra US $40 for late (5:00 pm) check out. Water bottles are plentiful and free which was nice. Tiny little cups at the bar so bring a go cup. Beach is way too small. We only got to spend one day there... no chairs and if there were, you are stacked together like sardines.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Quality has slipped

Last year we went to this resort and were treated to amazing food, wine and service. Although the resort is still nice, the quality has slipped. The house wine went from good to undrinkable. The service went from amazing across the board to mostly average and in a few cases terrible. The steakhouse is still great but the seafood restaurant was terrible, they had more meat on the menu than fish and the service was brutal. The tapas restaurant is now gone and the Mediterranean was awful. The resor [... read more]t is beautiful and the beaches are great but at that price I am not sure I would recommend it. I know we won't be going back.

Punta Cana Princess: Excellent resort

The grounds are well kept, the room was excellent and the food was great. Finding a lounge chair around the pool can be challenging. The area is crammed with resorts on an excellent beach which makes navigating the local roads challenging.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful resort

The stay at this resort was wonderful,the staff are excellent and the food is great. The rooms were spacious ,pools were great.The only done fall was the room service menu, it was limited, not a large selection.
