Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Exceeded Expectations

When reading some other guest reviews prior to our visit, my expectations had been lowered. I've since concluded that many of these reviewers may simply have been seeking levels of perfection that did not match the price range of what they were paying. We travelled with grandchildren and found the resort well suited to the interests of children with all the animals and nature as well as wading pools, play centre, water park and beach experiences. Of course there were some minor issues but we found the staff were prompt in remedies. The food choices were ample and tasty. The peacocks were very beautiful - it was a slight shame that their loud evening calls were not quite so beautiful. Yes entering the ocean is a walking hazard with the rocks but we knew to expect this. A traditional sandy beach would have been lovely but not enough to miss out on the monkeys and coatis. We knew about the Eco fees the resort has to charge - these were done on check-in which is likely a much better idea than the hotel collecting on checkout. There was a bit of a sales pitch for their Royal Elite Club but it was not a hard sell. Would recommend Sandos Caracol for those with an interest in nature and wildlife or for those looking for a family retreat.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing resort

Great resort for kids, with tons of activities to do. Jade River snorkel was amazing, kids club is a great place for the kids with tons of activities for them. If you like a resort with a beach, and ocean to swin in, this place is not for you. Not much of an area to swim in. Definitely bring water does. Pools were large, but busy. El Dorado Seaside Suites: 5 STAR RESORT

Room was fabulous! King size bed was sooooo comfortable and resort offered a 'pillow bar' which I greatly appreciated. Huge bathroom with large jacuzzi. Swim out pool off the balcony was really neat concept but water was cold. The building, grounds were immaculate. Food was GOURMET. Best food I have ever eaten at a resort. Personal Concierge was AWESOME (Santiago :)). Staff were friendly and helpful. High quality spirits were served at all the bars. Love the fact that this resort is self-sustainable. All vegetables and herbs were grown in their own organic gardens......FRESH PLUS! The only let down was the beach attached to the El Dorado Suites. Undesirable! if you wanted to experience a beach you had to go to the adjacent property. Overall, wonderful experience.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: TRÈS BEL HÔTEL

ÉVIDEMMENT ON NE PROFITE PAS DE LA PLAGE CAR LES ALGUES NE SENTENT PAS MAIS PRENNENT TOUTE LA PLACE. ON A TROUVÉ 4 RESTO SUR 6 EXCELLENTS ( SAUF ASIATIQUE ET ITALIEN ...TRÈS MOYENS ). Grand Sunset Princess: Can't complain

Pros: Gorgeous resort, well-maintained, friendly staff, quick and knowledgable bartenders, good buffets, fun day entertainment and great night entertainment, clean rooms, lots of pools, car rentals on site, good gym, felt safe the whole time. Cons: A bit bigger than I prefer (easy to get lost, far to walk everywhere), the beach had lots of kelp? sea grass?, in the water off the beach there were lots of sharp rocks that were hard to avoid stepping on when the waves hit you, LOTS of kids - badly  [... read more]need an adults only pool, staff should crack down on people who get up early and put towels on a beach chair then don't return for hours, everything in USD even though much of the clientele are Canadian, kind of a far detour from main highway to Playa through some sketchy residential, about a 15 minute drive to Playa. But really though, this is nit-picking. This was a great resort to stay at and we really enjoyed ourselves. Just a few things we noticed that we wished our resort had had.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Tennis heaven

My wife and I enjoy playing tennis on a regular basis and the Rafa Nadal tennis center located in the resort was our main reason for booking it. We were not disappointed by the quality of their adult tennis programs. The staff at the tennis academy did a fantastic job running the Total Tennis adult program and provided many valuable training drills, strategies and tips during our five days program to help us improve our game. Food selection was the same during our 7 night stay. Staff service was great and the Beach is nice and powdery sand. This hotel has three categories TRS, GP and Family. If you stay at the GP section, be prepared to get rejected a few times during your stay. For example: GP guest will wait 30 minutes or more at a la carte restaurants because the GP section cannot make reservations for a la carte restaurants. On the other hand TRS and Family section can make reservation and get a table without waiting. Transportation within the resort is also divided. There are TRS golf carts and GP golf cart. TRS guest are able to use TRS and GP carts but GP guest can only use GP carts.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Wonderful time

We were pleasantly surprised of this resort..quaint smaller town..beautiful beaches...gorgeous bay for full time ocean swimming...never too windy...more than enough things to do The resort itself was extremely clean..had entertainment every nite as well as different intervals during each day...staff were wonderful...helpful and just beautiful people We're looking to return for a longer time next year

Grand Oasis Sens: Mom and Daughter Trip!

My daughter and I recently spent a week at the Grand Oasis Sens for a mother/daughter trip. We were there to unwind and relax. We purchased the all-inclusive vacation and were quite happy with what we received. The resort is renovated and fairly updated. It was very clean and and we constantly saw staff cleaning in all areas of the resort. I found the staff very friendly and check in/out was exceptionally speedy and courteous! The buffet was great, always something good to eat and the a la carte's were good as well. Our favorite was the Mexican resto with the live music! Agnacio was the on the omelet/eggs station and he was amazing and super friendly! We looked forward to seeing him every morning! Entertainment was good, although I wish there was something by the pool every night as we really enjoyed the live music there. The weather was great, except for the high winds which prevented us from actually swimming in the ocean which was very disappointing for me but not the resort's fault! The beach chairs are solid plastic and really hard, I wish there had been better chairs there but the pool chairs were good.We never had a problem getting towels or chairs and the bar staff were all friendly. The sushi bar was great!! We weren't impressed with Sakura though and waited all week for that reservation. Never saw one bug inside the resort, and only few flies outside as it was so windy by the beach. The Spa was way overpriced so we never went there but the Coffee and Me shop was excellent and we went there a couple times a day! Would definitely return and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly! The only complaint was the mini fridge only had water, Coke and bad beer. I asked for soda water as we don't drink pop, and I requested Sol or Corona but they said they didn't have anything different.

Barcelo Huatulco: Good resort

Everything was good but did not like the slope on the beach, very hard to walk on and that is what I go for, very uneven ground in the ocean as well, felt unsafe.Long line ups at ala cartel and you could only book for the same day.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Seaweed on beach a major problem

The resort and the staff were very helpful with all needs or questions. Serving staff in the buffets were very good/quick and efficient. Specialty restaurants were great. One of the main reasons we go to the resorts in Mexico and other areas in the Caribbean is to enjoy the beach and the ocean. Due to the significant amounts of the seaweed which accumulated on the beach daily we were not able to enjoy the beach or the ocean. We can not recommend this resort to friends due to the seaweed issue.

Las Brisas Huatulco: 3rd time an absolute charm!

On my 3rd time to the Huatulco/Oaxaca area, Feb 26 to Mar 5 2019, I continued to be amazed by the culture, beauty, people, safety, cleanliness and of course the absolutely consistent weather of the region! My first exposure to the region was a solo whitewater kayaking trip on the Copalita river 10 years ago. The second was at a resort on one of the Huatulco Bays in 2018. Everything was exceptionally coordinated and delivered to me and my companion to meet all of my expectations. The variety of activity items at the resort and food was incomparable! I unfortunately became seriously ill one day (from eating food off site (my fault)), BUT on my return to the hotel, the staff bent over backwards to assist me, including a check-up by the on-site medic and hotel staff.I was so grateful for their care and attention.! In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, " I be back" !!!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great resort

Everything about this resort was great. Loved the beaches, snorkelling, and food was amazing. Staff very friendly and accommodating! Was nervous about going to Mexico due to safety, and in this area felt completely safe.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A Relaxing Week

Just returned from Sian Ka'an. It has a relaxing vibe if you are looking to unwind. The pool at Sushi Bar has meditative music playing and beautiful sunny whirlpools to de-stress in. The food at this resort is excellent! Lots of variety and flavourful at every meal. If you are looking for a little more excitement, there is lively entertainment just a trolley ride away at Akumal resort in the evening and also good souveneir shopping at 'Hacienda.' The beach is well maintained at this resort  [... read more]and fish swim alongside you in the clear water! Staff is friendly and accommodating and security made us feel safe. Our room was a little dated and smelled a little musty but was clean and well maintained otherwise. The a la carte restaurants we tried were good and we especially recommend Dolce Vita for excellent Italian food--try the appetizer sharing platter--it is huge and delicious.

Paradisus Cancun: Great Resort for a Family Vacation

We travelled as a group of 10, 6 adults and 4 children. This resort was great and appealed to all age groups. The kids really enjoyed the kids club and activities plus it gave them a break from the sun during the hottest hours of the day. The most fun was when they brought out a huge inflatable water slide! What stands out to me most about the Paradisus Cancun is the service. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the pool service was constant, we were truly spoiled. I did find a huge dead cockroach in my room one night but I didn't see any others during my stay. I thought the food was average although some of our group loved it, the drinks were delicious, try a shot called 'mini beer', yum! The rooms were spacious enough although a little dated but the cleanliness made up for that. The beach was gorgeous and the pool was enormous, we loved both. The resort itself is really confusing as to which elevator to take to get where you need to go. It's divided in the middle so you can't get through. In short, I would recommend this resort as long as your expectations are realistic for a 4.5 star resort.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: A little disappointed but still worthwhile

This was only our second experience at a Secrets Resort and it had a very different feel. Our room was perfectly located, by chance of cou, but we were very appreciative. The food was not nearly as good as our last trip but the staff was friendly and attentive in the bars. Our maid service was poor but the room was maintained. The pools were great but beach was not. Terrible time getting bath towels and beds made.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Resort is 5++

This resort was by far the best 5 star my husband and I have stayed at in Mexico. The service was top notch, food variety and presentation was amazing and the entire resort was so clean. The rooms were very modern and overall, many entertainment options to choose from throughout the day and evenings. We met a number of couples that were returning, not their second time but 5+ times. We will be back to this resort very soon. It’s a gem!!!

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Great resort, too quiet at night.

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic food. Spacious rooms. Too quiet in the evenings, better suited for families and older travellers. Firepits are awesome,should be left in later than 10pm. Beautiful pools, only one is heated... making a very small pool over crowded. Air Canada Vacations is terrible. Very disappointed in my agent from TripCentral.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Excellent Resort

The hotel was beautiful and the service was outstanding. Food was excellent. It was difficult to get reservations for the a la carte restaurants. They seemed to be fully booked every single night and the only times available were not suitable for us. When we complained to management about this, they made it work. We were able to get to try all the restaurants but I was just disappointed that I had to complain to management in order to secure the reservations to the restaurants. Although there was a wide expanse of sandy area, the actual shore had many rocks and seaweed, which was disappointing.

Riu Yucatan: Great trip

The resort was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful breakfast was good but the dinners need work. dinner at the steakhouse was delicious the beach was gorgeous well maintained even with the seaweed being the worst they have had this year.

The Fives Downtown Hotel: Best Urban Hotel Ever!!

For this trip I wanted something different than the typical 'resort' feel but still wanted to be close to the beach and to the nightlife but I did not want to sacrifice quality accommodations or hotel amenities. The Fives Downtown has it all!!! The place is chic. Super clean and modern. Good for young adult professionals (25 - 40) but also older. It's a surprisingly large, never packed infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Really a dream pool experience. The hotel rooms are huge! Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, this is the place you'll want to stay if you don't want to be in 'resort land'. The food is incredible! Very gourmet/modern twist, excellently plated; creative recipes including grilled octopus to more traditional foods like hardy juicy hamburgers. I only went out to eat at restaurants and street food vendors outside of the hotel a few times because the food was just so amazing. AND IT WAS ALL INCLUSIVE - A PLEASANT SURPRISE GIVEN QUALITY AND STYLE OF HOTEL. I highly recommend the all inclusive plan option. The tequila bar is awesome. Sports on all tv's, cool vibe and open to the public. You'll meet all kinds of travelers. I could go on forever... this place had superb service and staff. Top-notch.
