Occidental Punta Cana: clean resort/ outdated rooms

Had to change our room 23(226) because of the musty smell, bathroom so outdated it was unable to look clean, A/C didn't work ,furniture was beyond repair, telephone didn't work, complimentary fruit in the room was rotten and had flies on it. Were given a room in a different building after much discussion and hassle. This room was less dated and clean. Received none our package with this room. (bottle of rum, bathrobes, slippers, fruit or beer in the fridge. Second day after talking to cleaning p [... read more]erson received the daily beer in the fridge. By this time we were tired of the hassle of speaking to the people in charge. Reception staff seemed bored and not friendly. Grounds and beach area are beautiful and well kept, staff friendly and chatty. Would we return to this resort? If it was all updated we might consider a return visit.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Tropical Treat

The Grand Palladium Bavaro was fun, beautiful grounds to wander through, safe environment and was overall the most enjoyable vacation to remember. The various locations within the resort were open for viewing and experimenting find restaurants with the use of the on-time, reliable transportation to and fro. Highly recommended for fun-loving people who want to have a relaxing, yet invigorating atmosphere, for a vacation spot.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort, had a good time

Stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar; the resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The room was clean and very comfortable, we were in the Ambar 2 and it was a beautiful building, staff were always around cleaning and keeping things in order. The staff were friendly, some did not speak English and were not always able to communicate with the tourists. The food was good with decent variety at the buffet, we enjoyed most of the a la carte dinners, although my husband had the runs one [... read more] afternoon that lasted only for the one day, I did not have any stomach issues at all throughout our stay. The beach area was crowded and not easy to find a spot on the beach, so we spent more time at the pool as it was quiet and less crowded. Also the ocean was sometimes rough at times, and not able to go too far out. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this resort and had a good holiday, the weather was perfect 28C every day except for one day in almost two weeks, which was great.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Good resort, but more of a 4.5 star than a 5 star.

The beach was very good, but there were too many people trying to sell things when we just wanted to relax and not be bothered. The food was good, but not great. Service was ok, but not exceptional. But for the price we paid it was good value.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Wide Variety

Hotel room decent, A/C not strong enough. Resort was great, lots of incl activities, staff very friendly/engaging. Main buffet decent, but stand alone restaurants great. Not always able to get beach towels

Punta Cana Princess: AWESOME HOTEL

Over all this hotel was fabulous; beach 5, hotel 5, public areas 4 dinning 4, food was very good, could have been more choices, night entertainment 2.5, very quite only 2 dances, rooms were great 5, service 5, dinning 4, dinning room should be completly non smoking.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: My favourite place to stay in the DR

I loved it all. Friendly layout, great food and fantastic staff. Try a Honeymoon Suite with a Butler. Yunior is the BEST. Have a few "Iceburgs" by th pool you won't regret it. Our second visit and I see a another visit in the near future.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Awesome vacation!!

When we arrived at the hotel we found out that we had been upgraded. Which was nice. On the way to our room we took the golf cart, that goes everywhere, and the drivers carried out luggage up to the room. When we got to our room it was so nice and welcoming. The staff were amazing and friendly! They helped make the experience amazing. The food was fantastic. Trying things I have never had. The beach was great. Clean and clear. Not really organized that the shuttle bus didn't pick us up that we were trying to find our own way to the airport so we didn't miss our flight. We will definitely go back!!! :)

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great stay

We went here for a wedding. This resort is older and the rooms need updating. With that being said, the grounds were perfect and maintained beautifully. The area for the ceremony was gorgeous. The beach and pool area was perfect and the food was decent. My only major complaint was that my stay was certainly not worth the amount that I spent. The room service was also very spotty, every one with our group seemed to get different perks, while others couldn't get clean towels.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Beautiful resort

The resort was great, good food, and customer service. Rooms are beautiful. Beach are clean and so are the pools and the general resort. Very upset with Sunwing as their service at the air port leaving was bad. Wait on an answer from them.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Paradise

This was our very first all inclusive and it was paradise. We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was spacious. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were fabulous. I would recommend this resort. The cleaning staff were friendly and gave us extra supplies when asked. I'm hooked on all inclusive!!!!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Dreams Punta Cana

The resort was wonderful, picturesque and very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very clean, a bit dated but comfortable. The beach was great, plenty of longer chairs with good service. Food was great, good selection of restaurants. Evening entertainment was not the greatest but there was nightly dancing with Latin music.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Inconsistent but still nice

This was my fourth trip to Punta Cana and was the least impressive resort. The food and restaurant service was excellent. The beach was mediocre in comparison to others in DR and our group retrieved several broken glasses and a board with nails from the ocean. We missed having room service for one day so prepared for a wedding with wet towels. After three calls to the front desk that our refrigerator wasn't working, we just gave up. It's just the small attention to details that would lift this r [... read more]esort to a true 4 star resort. I can't highly recommend this resort when I have stayed at three that are much nicer.

Occidental Punta Cana: Disappointed

Service in restraunts the worst I have ever had, food in restraunts not good. Basketball hoops broken, no archery, lots of seaweed on beach, evening entertainment worst ever! toilet plugged every day! However the reserved evening meals were great, bartender at pool bar was great! Not much else to say other than will never stay again.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Not worth it... Butler service is a joke.

Stay at Royalton for a week Jan 1 -8 and I can honestly say this is no 5 Star resort. The service is poor and when you do find someone to get you a drink they are miserable. We paid extra for the concierge/butler service and that was a complete joke. Make sure you wake up at 6am to get a chair that the beach or else forget it.... The Diamond Club is tiny . I have stayed at many resorts in DR and this one was the worst by far. Not to mention being harassed by time share reps everyday on our st [... read more]ay. Try Hard Rock or Paradisus instead.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great time!

We enjoyed our week stay at Grand Bahia Príncipe Bavaro, large resort but we were located 5 min walk from lobby and beach and 10 min walk to water park and mini golf. Alternatively there are trolleys all day. We would definitely stay again, food was very good, room for improvement but no one was sick in my party. Overall a great stay. Employees were all wonderful! Great for children as well!

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: The best vacation I've ever taken!

Not one negative comment to make about this resort. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. The pools and beach were clean with plenty of chairs available. The food was amazing with lots of variety to choose from. Loved the fact that you didn't need to make reservations for the a la cartes, and that they were unlimited. The best part about this resort is the staff. The entertainment team was outstanding; always making sure the guests were having a great time. Will definitely return here next  [... read more]year!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: great vacation

This resort has double in size since we where there 6 years ago. It is an excellent resort, rooms are beautiful. The rooms were cleaned very late in day 5:ish daily. Late in day if you were wanting your room earlier. Food was great. Staff were excellent. Worth the money. We were there 12 days. Need more shade at 2 new pools for people that don't sit in sun.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Nice resort

The coupons that were given weren't really a deal. They offered a $100 off but only on services that were at least double the price in Canada with only have the actually results. The housekeeping was great the first couple of days and then it slowly died. We were also tipi g everyday so I shouldn't of tipped at all and saved the money. The food was ok but not great with the exception of two of the restaurants. our first day we were con into visiting another resort to buy memberships and laughed  [... read more]at the price we did pay by using a travel agency and then became very angry when we were not interested.. They first told us 10 mins of our time then 9 mins and it ended up being 4 hours. The hotel employee offered cigars at a great price $100 a box and we gave him money and got fake cigars that they were selling on the beach for $20. The hotel offered a upgrade for a special price. We accepted and paid but then later was told they didn't charge enough and denied us access to leave without paying another $100 US.

Occidental Caribe: The resort was good .

All and all the hotel was good. The food was just ok at the buffet though because we've been to two other Barceló hotels in the last two years in Mexico and the food was better and we expected the same however the booked restaurants were excellent. The grounds and washrooms were always kept clean and the beach was amazing . The only issue we had was that the walls of the rooms were paper thin and we could hear everything going next door .The rooms were ok . Not very big but clean. .
