Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Noteworthy Tidbits

This hotel was recommended by a very good friend who has been to the Lifestyle Resort 5 times. Also, her parents come twice a year and stay at The Tropical. We stayed at Cofresi due to the rooms being more modern and updated. Now that I have had the experience of being at this resort, I would personally chose The Tropical as there are less stairs and booking automatically comes with VIP Beach access (free WiFi). MMMM VIP Beach makes a wicked drink not found anywhere else on the property - Tiki [... read more] Tiki - try it!!!!! Delicious!!! The Junior Suite was really big - spacious and very clean. Loved it!!!! The entire resort is beautiful. Cofresi does have a lot of stairs yet i found it okay as i love walking and didn't mind the exercise. They have the best pools. The food was okay too. Most of the staff were friendly and tried to help whenever needed. I recommend purchasing the WiFi for the week - it was well worth it. Great resort overall!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Incredible time at the Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado

We were there at the end of June... off season for us Canadians, but lots of international guests, which was lovely to come across and meet. This was truly a luxury resort. The smiles by all the staff were genuine. They seemed to anticipate our needs even before we did. For example, we were out for the day on an excursion to the El Limon Waterfall and we ran into our butler when we got off the ferry on the mainland and told her what we were up to. When we returned from our excursion, there  [... read more]was a Jacuzzi tub filled with bubbles and rose petals awaiting our horseback riding bodies... we did not request this, but were so grateful to have it there to receive us. The grounds are immaculate, and there is an abundance of nature to see everywhere. Whatever your need, someone was there to meet or fulfill it. And it was always their "pleasure" to do so. The nightly entertainment was not incredible (but I will say they tried their best-- and these folks were the same activity people all day on the beach that put on the performances, talk about stamina!!!), but we weren't there for that, and would stroll to the beach for a night-time sound therapy session with the waves. Be sure to ask for Martin's Special drink if he is at the Beach Bar! So delicious and made everyone smile. I would go back, the beach was lovely, the grounds big enough to walk substantially throughout if you chose to not take the trolleys, the gym was lovely, the food incredible everywhere we went... although we do recommend you order from the wine list if you are at the a la cartes. Happy to have went and would love to go back again for sure. NB

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort!!!!

My husband and I stayed at this resort from June 23rd to June 30th, 2018. It was an amazing trip!! I booked my trip with O’neil Graham @ tripcentral I was kind of hesitant I was looking at two options but with the advice I got from him trust me he was a 100% correct that I would love it!!! The hotel staff are very courteous and professional. The buffet was delicious everyday there was a wide variety of food and had a different theme example: Americana, Italian, Dominican etc. The 24 hour snack bar had fresh food prepared throughout the night. I didn’t try the a la cartes. The evening shows were great. The pools were clean. The beach is a 2-3 minute trolley ride. Marlene the beach waitress was fantastic she always had our glasses topped up and knew what we wanted, Unfortunately two things that was uncontrollable due to Mother Nature. 1. It had a lot of seaweeds when I got there but they kept cleaning the beach all day before I left there were no more seaweeds left in the water, 2. It had a lot of mosquitoes every night the OFF spray and after BITE didn’t help. This was my second trip to DR and the first time staying at this hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!!! I’m ready to go back!!!!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Overrated

Under the expectation compared with other cheaper Luxury Bahia Principe! I did not expect the Superior room to be in an attic! We finally paid to upgrade the room but lost half a day of beach. Lack of food diversity compared to other Luxury Bahia Principe (beach buffet did not offer steak at lunch).

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Vacation

Everything was great about this resort. But the best part was the beach, that's what I go for usually on my vacations. Staff was great, very fast room service, pleasant staff at front desk. Location of the hotel is great, it is about 30 min from airport and close to a shopping mall, where a lot of people, tourists and locals came out in the evening. Nice social place and very safe. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Terrific time !

Great hospitality all around. You had what you wanted at ANY time. Thanks to all the nice people especially the maids. Room was immaculate day in and day out. The a la carte restaurants were pristine. People try so hard to please you at them.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Fantastic

Excellent resort Royal Golden , Fabulous room ,Great view Ty once again!!!! The staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best... Also bavaro runners to Monkey land was terrific providing cold drinks ! Keep up the good work D.R!

Excellence Punta Cana: Everything I imagined

Manicured grounds host a small trail system through ecological gardens with free range wildlife and stocked feeding stations , free for guests. Rooms and common areas are spotless, pool areas are as clean as the day they were installed. Food at all the onsite restaurants was above average service was always with a smile and they bend over backwards to make sure your dining experience is memorable. Live entertainment at night was enjoyable, as were the special nights with dinners on the beach etc.

Riu Republica: AMAZING

This was our first time in any Caribbean destination but we were SO impressed. Amazing facilities and programming, the food was so good, great beach area with little tiki huts, and even a water park in the resort! The pools were awesome, loved the in-water lounging chairs. It's a big resort but not ridiculously spread out like some of them seemed to be when we picked up others for excursions. Super happy. Would absolutely recommend.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Nice 4 star resort.

Resort was pretty nice. Not a five star but a solid four star for sure. Nice wide beach good size swimming pools. Suites were large. Platinum club not worth the extra money unless money comes easy to you. Takes time to get any issues resolved - like 4 days to get ac replaced. Food and drinks were ok. Beach vendors and seaweed not an issue. Wait staff was ok. Like really nothing to say wow. Just an ok place to take a break at. Would I go back. Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Awesome resort

Everything was great! Staff was super friendly and helpful at all times. Hotel grounds were absolutely beautiful and well maintained. As clean as I could imagine a resort being. Food was great, although struggled a bit to find options that were dairy free.. the chefs were very willing to prepare options that were suitable to dietary needs!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

The hotel is little old but very well maintained. The food is as good as in Canada. Every night they have different themes. The buffet serves steaks and lobsters. Staff is friendly. Lots of locals in June, they take over the bar and bud in front of you to get their order.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Second visit and better than the first time!

This time around I booked through Sunwing and had an excellent vacation. This was also my first time travelling solo on vacation. Upon arrival I went through customs and security very quickly after getting my luggage, a sunwing rep walked me to my shuttle. As I was the only one on my flight staying at BE LIVE, I had a private shuttle so I arrived to the resort quickly at 11am. I was going to be upgraded to a newly renovated room in block 14, but was accommodated and put in block 4 (4316) with a pool view. I admit it was a bit noisy at times being by snack bar/burger joint at night, but preferred the location. Also check in is at 3pm, but they rushed my request and I was in my room by 130pm. Very great fun to the check-in team. I only made two restaurant reservations (Japanese with the cooking show, and steak house). I really enjoyed both, as well as found the main buffet, and burger joint great options. No stomach issues all week. I really would like to thank the entertainment team who made my first solo vacation an entertaining one. Spaghetti, Chocolate, Champagne, Coca-Cola, tutti-fruity, Puccha, Macarena. I always enjoyed the aqua Zumba on the beach in the mornings, participating in the beer chugging, water Olympics in the pool.. go team Coca-Cola (white), fun at the beach party, foam party, dancing in the plaza after dinner, watching the shows in the theatre, even winning at bingo in the casino, and of course dancing in the Kviar disco! The activities on the resort are endless!! ❤️❤️❤️ And can’t forget the bartenders.. Sergio, David, Richard.. and sorry I can’t remember her name but a drink server by the plaza.. never sitting without a drink. Also note, there is quite a bit of construction going on right now, but I didn't find it bothered me. Also just want to mention if travelling in June, I met a lot of people from Spain, Germany and the USA, but not many Canadians.. still an adventure I’ll never forget!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: 10 out of 10. Best Resort!!

By far one of the cleanest resorts out there. It was amazing to so wake up early and so how the staff were organized and efficient to take care of all areas of the resort. The restaurant staff was amazing especially Wirkim, who always went the extra mile. Food was always fantastic with variety and presentation. I only wish I had gotten more names to include on this review. Downside factors were external seasonal such as seaweed rising on shore and mosquitos at night. The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Overall not even average

This is a beautiful place with great views...main pool and beach area fantastic.......rooms average for standard...do not waste your time book only sea view rooms....301 -310.....401 - 410....501 - 510......Food was terrible....same thing day after day.....poor quality of food.....a LA carte restaurants disappointing at best...staff tolerant of English if you speak fluent Spanish you got better service...not air conditioned....only in rooms......we were approached to buy time share...they lost i [... read more]nterest in us quickly when we told them we did not have a credit card.....not interested in going back to cayacoa ..... will try a different resort not affiliated with Bahia Prinicipe.......

Excellence Punta Cana: Amazing Honeymoon!

Staff were very friendly and hospitable. Rooms, pools, buffets and common areas always very clean. Food was excellent! Lots of different options for dinners, we enjoyed all restaurants! Loved the drinks and servers by the poolside. Would definitely recommend!

Excellence Punta Cana: Best resort I have ever been to!

I cannot say enough good things about this resort. My best friend and I went for 3 nights to celebrate our 40th birthdays and didn't want to leave. Not nearly long enough. The pools and grounds were immaculate (always staff working and saying hello), staff were so friendly, especially Junior A and Jhonny. Our last night Jhonny made sure we got a table at the Lobster House and that our wine glasses were never empty. We only went to the buffest for breakfast and it was wonderful and lots of choices, so I imagine lunch and dinner was the same. We got a swim up suite which was so worth the extra money. Even with the swim up bar right outside our room it was quiet and tranquil. Guests wanting a more party experience could go to the main pool area. Shows at night were very entertaining. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Dream wedding!!

First of all I can’t rave more about Geraldy Ramos!! HE IS THE WEDDING PLANNER EVERY WOMAN DREAMS ABOUT!! He made our day absolutely perfect!! Ricardo from the beach bar on the esmeralda beach is honestly the sweetest man you will ever meet!! Lastly Romana our cleaning lady was amazing!!! Love them alll!! The food was delicious, they clean your time twice a day! Everyone was absolutely perfect!

Occidental Punta Cana: The price is right

The Occidental Punta Cana is a warm and inviting resort. The staff is friendly and a number of the staff are able to speak English. The hotels cleaning staff is responsive to your requests and if you tip them they become your best friend for life, or however long your trip is :) The food is above average, they offer a number of restaurants, Seafood, Chinese, Mexican and of course the Steak house and the beach is great. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Average

Few waiters were friendly. Lots of seaweeds in the beach when we came. They use plastic cups for alcohol and yet they banned plastic straw. They pressure you to buy privileged club. Found cockroach in the room and leaking from the ceiling. Room smells like toilet bowl. Food is salty. Free coconuts!
