Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Perfect Family Resort
The resort in a whole is amazing, but very big. So much for kids to see and do between the water park, the beach, the pools, just even general activities like walking or biking the trails! Animals everywhere! I would highly recommend this resort for families. We went with my daughter and grandson and it was definitely worth the experience. Since we are a couple in our mid fifties I doubt we would return as just a couple. The ala carts were good but the buffet was a little repetitive. However tha[... read more]t being said we never left hungry. Staff very friendly and attentive. Oh and the beds and pillows were probably the most comfortable out of any all inclusive we have stayed at in the last 10 yrs!

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Nice, comfortable resort
We really enjoyed this resort. Everything is centrally located and easy to walk to. The food was excellent. The best food and wine we've had at any resort. Service was always excellent, including pool & beach service. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable and resort is kept clean. The only thing lacking is a quiet pool.

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Soso resort but very clean
We were there last week and we were a little disapointed. Not a Tropical feeling. Contry music and dance music all week.
The resort is very small. After 2 days you get bored. The beach is WAYYYY to wavy and to walk along the beach is a Zero cause its very oblique. So hard on the knees and feet. Could’nt enjoy swimming the Blue ocean. Red flag all week 😢.
Its is a Clean resort and very nice staff. Oscar at the buffet always had the way to smile and joke with us.
Rooms were very clea[... read more]n but old.
Food was ok but not alot of option in buffet.
Restaurents were good.
Weather was amazing all week. Had still alot of fun with my partner.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Jungle like Experience
We were at Las Brisas for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. The resort is huge and is like being in a jungle. Beautiful gardens and trees/cacti everywhere. Rooms and all of the facilities were super clean. However we did experience a sewage smell in our room which came and went. Don't stay in room 2117! Most staff were attentive except for the Mexican and steakhouse restaurants. Service very slow and food mediocre. The Mediterranean was the best!. Beaches were beatiful and clean with easy acces[... read more]s and many colours of fish. Visit Santa Cruz a charming little village. Le Crucecita was too busy with lots of traffic. The stairs and shuttles got a little tedious after 2 weeks. And the rsort was just too big with rooms quite far from pools, beaches and restaurants. So would not return.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Bad time to stay at this resort!
The hotel and beach are lovely and the food was excellent. Our first 2 days were wonderful at the hotel , and then guests started to arrive for a 3 night Phish concert that was held at the hotel .
There were people using drugs in public places all over the resort during the day , and we were kept awake with loud parties on the lawn right below us that started around 2 am and went until 6:30 am one night , and 5:30 am the other 2 nights . There were people running around the grounds screaming an[... read more]d banging on doors and we couldn’t call the front desk from our room.
Don’t go to this resort while Phish is playing if you want a relaxing holiday or if you are traveling with a young family .

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great Resort!
Just returned from a 10-day stay at the Occidental Nuevo Vallarta. We loved the caring staff, availability of pool and beach chairs, clean rooms and hotel grounds (food served only in restaurants) and buffet food was enjoyable (could have had a bit more variety). Great nightly entertainment. We felt very welcome. We will not hesitate to return next year.

Occidental Tucancun: Great hotel
The staff were amazing and so helpful! We were a group of 8 people and everyone was so accommodating when it came to meals. The beach is beautiful and exactly what you think of when you picture the Caribbean ocean. The water was a bit rough, but still lovely. The rooms could definitely use an upgrade, but very clean and we were never discouraged when coming back to a clean and tidy room. The biggest complaint I have is that the pools turned all our white bathing suits green. I’m not sure if it[... read more]’s a chemical imbalance or algae, but it was less than desirable to swim in when wearing light coloured bathing suits. The hotel, however, did clean them and they are white again. Overall we had a great time!

Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun: Best mix of everything good!
My husband and I loved the great service we had with staff & managers, waiters & everyone. You could not have a less stressful vacation. I'm gluten-free and the chefs and waitstaff & managers of the restaurants all worked to give me great meals with many choices. I could always put together a solid meal from tbe buffet restaurant but the others were even better. Foodies won't be disappinted here. The desk staff were very good at customer service. The room was amazing - we got an ocean front suit[... read more]e with jaccuzi and it was amazing. Very clean & simple modern decore. We had a lot of fun in the game room playing ping pong, air hockey & pool until 10:30 one night. The singers in the lobby bar were really good. Drinks were the same weak drinks as other all-inclusives. The gift shop had great swimsuits & there's a really _good_ selection of fresh tasting ice creams and sorbets by the gift shop. The fitness dance class by the pool area was fun. The staff are the best thing about this place. I asked for a yoga mat for my room and the activities guy brought me one. The gym is small but better than most dinky hotel workout rooms. The spa massage I got was ok but I tend to get them for therapy not relaxation so I need more detail work fone than you get at the spas in Cancun but this was the best I've had of 5-6 in Cancun. There's was no hot steam in the steam room but a eucalyptus aroma vapor. The dry sauna was hot. The outdoor hot tub by the pool was not hot but honestly it was the only thing I saw off on this trip, and people were busy having fun everywhere so it wasnt missed except we do really enjoy the socialization of an outdoor hot tub. The fireshow was great! We hope to come back, and I really urge you to consider this place. It has just enough party fun without chaos or stupidity going on and enough class and good taste for those liking adult reserved fun. Good time for little kids but the place isnt full of screaming kids either. Perfect blend of all kinda of people, family friendly but great for a honeymoon.

Krystal Puerto Vallarta: Disappointed
Nice beach, time share resort with a lot of emphasis on the time share people. Food was mediocre at best. No coffee pot, alarm clocks or storage for clothes in the Tower rooms. Hot water only 1 day. Ceiling fan in main buffet actually fell 20 feet almost hitting a guest while he was eating - very scary! Bar hours were not very good - 11am for the beach bar and 1 pm-11pm for the lobby bar. Close to shopping and easy bus ride to downtown. Wouldn’t recommend for the $ we spent.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Excellent resort.
My 7 day stay at Grand Sirenis was a wonderful experience. Everything you could want/expect from an all inclusive resort. The resort has multiple pools (plus the beach) and many poolside chairs so it is not difficult to find a spot either in the sun or in the shade. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, plus most spoke English, French, and of course Spanish so no translation issues whatsoever. The rooms are nice with good quality A/C and free wifi which was fairly good speed even at pea[... read more]k hours. The food was by no means amazing but good for all you can eat buffet and available at any hour of the day. The one con was the A la cartes, where the food was not much higher quality than the buffet food. That being said I only visited 4 so I can't speak for all of the restaurants. Overall it was a really good vacation, and I would highly recommend (just remember to pack plenty of sunscreen).

This hotel was amazing! If you’re a nature lover and love to explore, this is your place! Watching the monkeys in the jungle was the highlight of my trip. There is a man made beach which is small but very well maintained. There was a lot of seaweed and beach was unswimmable for 2 days so we used the pools instead which are beautiful. Small clean adults only resort with lovely staff and excellent food and drink. There were issues with spotty wifi which is available only in the front lobby unless you are willing to pay an exorbitant daily fee for room wifi. Occidental Cozumel: Great Vacation!
We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The ground were very lush and jungle-like, very well kept and beautiful. There was lot's of wildlife around, which was fun to watch.
The food was great, with lots of options for everyone.
The rooms were clean, and large, and had everything we needed.
The only downfall for us with this resort, was that it was very quiet (perhaps too relaxing). We travelled with a group of 10, and we were looking for fun and to party. The shows were over by 10pm and we were t[... read more]he only ones in the disco, when it was open. So low night life at this hotel. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing resort with not much to offer in terms of entertainment, than this one is it! Being in a larger group, we were able to make our own fun - but sometimes were told to quiet down :o(
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We would definitely recommend this resort to a friend - depending on what you are looking for.

El Dorado Royale: Great relaxing vacation!
Just returned from the El Dorado Royale and had a fantastic vacation. The room was very spacious, although the open concept (including the bathroom) was a little awkward as there is little to no privacy. Even the closest of couples need some privacy. We stayed in a beachfront junior jacuzzi suite on the second floor and this provided for spectacular views of the ocean. The food (with the exception of the pizza) was fantastic and we enjoyed every meal. The only downside was breakfast where al[... read more]though there was one restaurant that offered a la carte choices, the resort mainly wanted you to select options from a buffet. I am not a fan of buffet, so this wasn't optimal for me.The beach, while beautiful is not really swimable. If you are looking for a beach that you can swim in the ocean, then this is likely not the right resort for you. They work hard to keep the sea weed cleared, but this seems to be a pointless task as it keeps coming all day long. There are also some sand bags and other obstacles that have been put into the water to prevent erosion which we were prepared for and have seen at other resorts. You can't blame a property owner from trying to protect the erosion of their land. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We wanted for nothing. There is a concierge service that is shared between the residents of two buildings and they are somewhat helpful, but it seems their main role is to up sell you on services and try to get you to "tour†their property and sell you either future trips or club memberships. We didn't make too much use of the concierge as a result of this constant push to buy spa or other treatments.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: True Traveller
Gounds and pool were very clean. Food is always fresh. Rooms were dated. Staff could have been friendlier. Water pressure was horrible in showers. Beach was covered in thick sea weed all along the Mayan area from hurricanes this past fall. Water was too rough to swim in at beach. Very accepting of lesbians.

The lobby, grounds, facilities and room were all wonderful! The buffet had a full selection to satisfy the fussiest of eaters and the ala carte restaurants were a welcome treat.
If there was any complaint it would be that it was almost impossible to book an ala carte before 8:30pm.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: second time was not a charm!!
Came last year same time. (February) Had such a great time so decided to bring my family again this year same time.(myself, my wife, two daughters(17,25) and son(21).
Overall had a great time.
Food was good but found it better last year for whatever reason. Seemed more crowded so had to work harder to get the food I liked. Had to wait or ask for items where the serving plates were empty. When I did ask the service was good.
Was really windy all week...same as last year. Had less seaweed[... read more] on the beach compared to last year but this year the removal was not as diligently as last year. Seaweed was left on the shore in piles for days to dry I guess before it was removed. Hard to go for an enjoyable walk on the beach. The beach is a huge part of the experience so this was disappointing. ( I took a picture)
When we arrived we were surprised to see all the garbage on the beach especially in front of the quiet pool beach area. Saw many people pointing to it as they walked by. I couldn't understand why a few staff couldn't take an hour to pick it up. It was sad to look at but at the same time brought reality to the ongoing concern of plastics and garbage in our waters. Didn't want to be reminded of this during my holidays though. It wasn't until our 6th day there it was actually cleaned up. This was very disappointing. ( I took a picture)
Since it was so windy all week couldn't go sailing or any water activities so went to the activity hut to get a volleyball to hopefully get a few people to play on the beach. Was told no balls. A few were stolen the day before and no replacement balls were available??
I went to the activity hut near the quiet pool and asked to get the disks and poles to play shuttle board. Took a while for the guy to look away from his phone to tell he didn't have any!!! I then asked him for bocce balls or horse shoes to play in the two sand pits they had near the shuttle board. Again,he explained that he didn't have any and made no attempt to help me in any way. His cell phone was more important!!
I didn't bother asking about the archery area because it was in shambles...definitely not an option.
Needless to say the week week was quiet and a little boring. I'm not a big reader and can only lay in the sun for so long.
My last few hours on the beach on my last day was fun. I took a volleyball out of the hut that was under the counter and got some guys from Argentina to play volleyball on the beach for a few hours. Had lots of fun and enjoyed playing.
Resort should go out of there way to make other activities available especially when the water sports are limited.
Tried to book my wife and me into one of the restaurants but no luck...all booked. Waited to long to book (3rd day so my fault) Overheard a hotel representative explain to book a restaurant every day as soon as you arrive because you can always cancel. I wonder how many empty tables this causes??
When we were leaving I reserved/booked a trolley to pick us up and take our luggage to the lobby. (we always walked) Trolley never came and had to rush by foot with luggage to get to lobby to check out and meet our transfer to the airport. I asked the hotel rep. at the front of the lobby what happened to our pick up. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders!!
I went to check out and had only to pay $35 for a late check out for one room which was great! Check out took over 30 min. for a simple $35 charge. Crazy! I just wanted to enjoy my last cold beer in the lobby before we left for the airport.
I was excited to bring my family back to this property but will not be returning again.
The property is beautiful and overall very well maintained.
For the most part staff are very pleasant and go out of their way to offer good service.
Pools are beautiful and well maintained.
Entertainment is fine but nothing extraordinary. Most was similar to last year.
Rooms are nice and well maintained.
Was a nice quiet week away!!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Not the best
We had a horrible first day. We got there early in the day and check in wasn’t until 3pm. We made the best of it, had our bags held, walked the grounds but all we really wanted was a room to relax and change after a long day of travel. It was so unorganized. The lines were ridiculous and after the 4th time of them trying to book us in, we got a room we didn’t want. I had specified a king bed.. got 2 doubles. There was also a joining door held shut by 2 screws and The phone didn’t work[... read more]. We complained and 7 hours after arriving, we had a room with a king size bed. The ceiling in the tub moved when you touched it, had a piece missing in the corner. The bed was comfortable though. And the phone worked. The fridge was only filled every 2nd day and it only had 4 bottles of water, 4 soda in it. One day only it had 2 beer. I had to buy alot more water at the store. The food was good, but most of the time you had to stand in lines lasting hours. We had a blue bracelet (which most people did) the purple were the “lite grand†they had even less options then us. If you didn’t have a black bracket which was part of the pyramid it was like you were shunned! Employees turned you away at certain bars while the others were a 25 minute wait. If you don’t upgrade you are a nobody at this resort. Very disappointing.
