Punta Peninsula Varadero: Horrible
This is not a 4 star resort. We were totally surprise that only 150 guest were there, over 800 capacity. Lists 10 restaurants, 5 bars, 4 pools, 24 hr snack bar. Only one buffet was open, terrible food reheated and one a la cart. Coffee bar was awesome but don’t walk away with your cup! No activities at the beach or pool! Only one pool opened. Rooms need renovations. Stains on bed covers, couldn’t lock sliding door. Bar fridge inadequate, only 2 beers and one water bottle during our stay. [... read more]
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: I loved it
The food was great loved the pool, beach, and fantastic entertainment. Maid could do a better job but l will definitely go back. I also loved the coffee shop piano bar and entertainment in lobby bar.?????????????????????????????????
Hotel Los Cactus: Run down
Grounds were unkempt. Rooms were dirty. Public toilets were filthy. Air conditioning did not work. Doors did not lock. Food was below average. Birds ate out of buffet. Cats abounded. Staff was friendly. Beach was awesome. Entertainment was poor. Resort in whole was rundown and understaffed. It was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.
Melia Costa Rey: Amazing beach!!!
In Cuba we can’t expect a fabulous food service, but the beach are amazing. All resort staff are very friendly, with exception 2 ladies at the front desk. Excellent service from Roberto who is overseeing buffet area and the bartender at the beach, Wilber, amazing guy!! And his partner at the front , the chef at the beach. Another amazing guys was the coconut water station, excellent service, very nice guys. This resort has a beautiful beach, clean, clear water, of course, the best beach was [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Average stay
Hotel is beautiful but needs upkeep . For a property that is 3 yrs old it is not well kept. Food is average and staff seems unhappy. Nothing is labeled at the buffet and the a la carte restaurants lack attention to detail ie take forever to come around with wine and lack ambience. Coffee at the coffee bar was great, don’t expect much at the buffet. Been to Cuba 7 times and have definitely had better. Pools were clean and drinks were great. Don’t understand the lack of pool towels especially [... read more]
Barcelo Solymar: The best time
I came with my sister, ages 26 and 21 and this is definitely a party resort. So close to walk into town, about a 2 beer walk to the beetles bar and calle 62 if you cut through arenas blancas. Beaches are beautiful and clean, staff are great, food isn’t that good we ate in town most nights. Do NOT lose your towel they will give you a very hard time but overall- if you’re looking for a good time and to party this is the place to go. Definitely had wild nights here.
Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great Resort!
We loved our stay at the Grand Aston. The resort was well maintained, the food was great. Credit has to be given to the staff who were amazing, they really made your visit enjoyable. Looking forward to going back.
Memories Paraiso: Stay elsewhere.
Good: weather, beach, service and price. Bad: had to change room because of ants in bed, balcony and hotel lobby smell like sewage. Ugly: today is the 4th day my friend and I have to stay near by a toilet, uncooked seafood:-(
Hotel Playa Coco: My second time this year! Awesome Resort
Love this place! Plan on a return visit. Best beach around! Great food! Comfortable beds! Clean Room! Resort is just my size! Love the pizza parlour & BBQ on the beach. Love the food and drinks delivered to my beach chair! I go to this resort to unwind! Best coffee around! Great Staff!
Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing Resort and People!
Hotel is clean, bright and lively. Pools are spotless and the grounds are immaculately maintained. Rooms are spacious and the staff do a great job cleaning them each day. Food was wonderful, different items with each meal and day. The staff are so friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
Melia Las Dunas: Not good as it was
I was at this resort 2 years ago Dec 2017. Was much, much better. Was recomended at that time by my parents. They were before there and liked. This year Nov, 2019 we decided to go all together to celebrate our 3 birthdays. 1. Food was bad. Was a lot'a of spoiled products. Like cheeses, yougurts, some fish, pizza made with bad cheese, even some bread and deserts. Have to be very carefull what to eat. Was no shripm at all this time. Last time I ate only seafood at my last visit. 2. Service: Ha [... read more]
Melia Habana: Amazing Hotel
The Melia Habana has a great pool, beautiful lobby bar, great restaurants and an amazing cigar store. There is an excellent Café which serves delicious ice cream, offering a variety of flavours. If you wish to eat out, the Concierge will give recommendations, book the reservations and arrange for taxi service. There is a bus providing free transportation to Old Havana several times a day. Comfortable beds, great service and friendly staff. I recommend this hotel when staying in Havana. .
Iberostar Grand Packard: Very happy with hotel after upgrade
Location was outstanding- centre of Havana good view of traffic and Spanish Fort Restaurants were outstanding - great food at North America prices Others facilities not used Friendly staff helpful Great walks out of hotel
Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful Resort with lush tropical landscaping!
The hotel is well maintained and clean. The outside walkways between buildings are beautifully landscaped with all the fowering bushes and trees. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The food I would give 2/5 rating at the buffet and sad rating of 0/5 for all of the a la carte restaurants. We would not eat the food and would end up going to the buffet afterwards. The only exception was the lobster dinner which was an additonal 22 cucs. But it was well worth it When we arrived [... read more]
Los Delfines: Had a nice vacation
The hotel was relative to what we paid. One pool was empty, a few creepy crawlers and some unlit hallways. The staff however, so friendly and kind, the location was awesome and our oceanview room and balcony was so amazing. Would definitely go back but bring some extra snacks ;)
Playa Costa Verde: Home away from home
We have stayed at this resort 12 times, needless to say we love it! Reasonably priced and the grounds and beach are beautiful. More importantly is the staff and how well they treat us. We go for the sun, fun and beautiful beach, rooms are average and dated.
Hotel Los Cactus: Clean resort.
I found the resort to be clean and they had excellent staff working at the buffet. The disco was empty early on in the week however, by Friday there was 20 or so people at the disco. The disco closes at 1:00pm. The buffet only was open from 7:30am-10am for breakfast. Then 12:30-2:30pm for lunch and 7:00pm-9:30pm for dinner. Meaning that if you have slept in past the breakfast time you had to wait till the bbq by the beach opens shortly before the lunch buffet starts. After dinner is over there i [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Some good, some not so good!
The good: the beach was very nice, with clean, white sand and the ocean is that gorgeous blue! We were in building #4 and the rooms were clean (although my boyfriend did kill one cockroach in our room, but it's the tropics, so.....). However, the king-size bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible. My friend was in building #1 and her bed was very soft and comfortable, so I'm not sure what the standard is for this resort. The 2 pools were nice; the hotel is l [... read more]
Hotel Playa Coco: Another Magnificent vacation.
I can honestly say I have nothing to complain about. Everything was wonderful, food, room, service and most importantly the beach. I do not require much entertainment as I'm strictly a beach bum. I don't hang out at the pool ever. All was exactly what I wanted for my vacation. Only thing I hadn't planned for were the tiny biting bugs. Next time bug spray!
Club Kawama: Would choose different resort on the same beach.
Very little positives at this resort. When it's difficult to acquire a simple thing like bottled water there is many more problems. Staff are not very helpful Rooms look nice but getting a toilet or light bulb fix could take your whole week. Better to eat and get supplies off resort. Security and door staff are very friendly and helpful other than that it's touch and go. Perhaps Cuba economy plays a factor in this review and it was bad timing for our vacation at Kawama because I have heard [... read more]
