Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Spectacular!

What a beautiful resort. The staff was all so friendly and the resort was in pristine condition. Loved the food, especially the Brazilian restaurant. The beach had really nice sand and a section with hammocks. My favorite part was wondering down the jungle like paths. Even saw monkeys!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: A week we’ll never forget!

This was our second time at this resort. We booked this time for our wedding with family and friends and had an absolutely amazing time. Top notch staff and service! The staff are always going out of their way to make sure you have everything you need, but more than that.. that you’re having fun. Beautiful resort! Great food!

Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos: Great week in Cabos

We enjoyed our week at Sandos. We have been in Cabos before but first time at this property. Would stay again. Great location. Short walk to marina and restaurants. Nice pool area. Great service and enjoyed the restaurants on the property. Also had several meals in town.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: I love this resort

Service, food, accommodations, pools... all were great! I will freely admit that I am a very fussy traveller. I figure I pay a lot to travel and have been travelling for 20 years to Mexico. This is the only resort that I have returned to.

Smart Cancun By Oasis: Clean, Modern Hotel Conveniently Located

Our room was large and modern and cleaned very well every day. The air conditioner worked perfectly. All of the staff greeted us daily with a smile and a "buenas dias". The hotel is fairly modern with a nice pool/terrace area. The pool area was almost like a micro climate...always a nice breeze. The food at the hotel was surprisingly cheap and good. What I loved about the hotel was the location...close to the major local bus routes to go to the hotel zone (beaches) etc., close to the main bus st [... read more]ation (for out of town trips) and a large super market where we bought our daily supplies. We walked to most places in Cancun: Parque de las Palapas (for some cheap Mexican meals), Mercado 28 the largest tourist souvenir market, Kabah Park etc. It was all within a 20-25 min. walk (or less). Although all of the staff were friendly, I do want to mention Anselmo (so sweet and always smiling) and one of the women at front desk....wish I could remember her name. She spoke very good English and was very helpful and friendly. We were a bit disappointed that the gym was closed during our stay but it wasn't a deal breaker. There was a huge rainstorm the Tuesday prior to our visit and they were still dealing with the aftermath. I did get trapped in one of the bathroom cubicles in the pool area...but I laughed it off. It makes for a good story as I tried to slither my body under the door to escape. I wasn't in there too long and one of the staff "set me free"! Not sure how often they have entertainment by the pool, but on Thursday and Friday there were two very good entertainers who played from 5-7. One was an Argentinian duo the other I think from Jamaica. Both were excellent. There is a little bit of room for improvement: only one bath towel is provided...have to ask for more. Every day, it seems something is missing from the daily room maintenance...coffee, water etc. Have to ask and wait around for it to be delivered. Should really get those locks sorted out at the pool washrooms so people don't get locked in. All in all - a very satisfactory hotel in a great, central location. Would definitely stay there again.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Very nice vacation

The stay at the Sian Ka’an was overall very nice. The food selection and quality was fabulous from both the buffets and most of the a la carte’s. The staff, to a person, were very friendly and helpful and although the facilities were just fine, I wouldn’t call it 5 star. There was significant amounts of paint peeling off the ceiling in the washroom. The couch in the room was so sacked out you couldn’t sit on it, which only left the bed to sit on and the stairway leading up to our room  [... read more]had the same trash and dead beetles littered on it until it was finally swept on the sixth day. The coffee machine at the nearby pool bar often didn’t work and if this was a true 5 star should have been replaced and the pool was full of debris and in need of a good cleaning. Having said all of this, it was still a nice vacation and I would recommend this hotel chain to others.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Third visit to Barcelo Maya Colonial

This was our third time staying here and we continue to enjoy everything about the resort. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are so many chairs on the beach and around the pools to choose from. The beaches are very clean and beautiful to walk along. We enjoyed all of the restaurants also. We had a premium package so we had dinner every night for 2 weeks in all of the restaurants. We enjoyed using the spa and gym as they were both well equipped and spacious.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Very Pretty Resort

The hotel is just ok we upgraded and didn't really get what we were supposed to get. So don't pay for it as you won't get what you are told you will. (ie) the rooms were not refilled we waited for coffee pods to be filled the coffee cups were not cleaned the fridge wasn't refilled daily. This was to be done daily. The food was ok but not amazing if you didn't order a bottle of wine and pay for it the server didn't really serve you like they were supposed to. We caught a tuna fishing one day and  [... read more]they were going to charge us 18 bucks per person for the chef to cook it for you. It was already cleaned and cut all he had to do was put it on the grill. WE asked for it to be seared and it was well done omg what a disappointment you would think that the Seafood chef would know how to cook a tuna and what seared meant. I would recommend this place but don't pay for the upgrade not worth it and be sure you are clear with the servers you get. This is all inclusive and they get you in all ways trying to get you to pay extra. The servers and the customer service was not the same they tell you one thing and then they tell you another thing the next day. Nicole was great at trip central.

Riu Emerald Bay: Riu Emerald Bay-great beach resort

The grounds and and beach were immaculate. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was construction noise but the resort was large enough to find a quiet spot for the day. The night shows were entertaining and the staff knew what they were doing. The food was always warm and ready with lots of variety. My take away is, I would return to this resort. It met my expectations and was happy with my accommodations.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful resort = Fabulous Vacation!

Absolutely fabulous vacation! Resort was wonderful. Room was fabulous with Jacuzzi and private balcony. Grounds, rooms and facility were very clean. Food was delicious - never had a bad meal and the drinks were never ending! Entertainment was great. Getting around was easy on the tram system. Can't say enough about the beach - always able to find a chair, we were able to swim with fish and snorkel within our buoyed off section and the staff worked hard at keeping the beach clear of seaweed.  [... read more]There were a few rocks but that is expected in Mexico. Although a little long of a drive from the airport, but it was worth the 75 minute drive once you got there! We will definitely be back!

Riu Dunamar: Nice but no 5 star

Just returned from The Riu Dunamar. Very nice resort but definitely not a 5 star resort. The staff was excellent as were the well kept grounds. The beach is a solid 8 of 10 if you dont mind the sewage smell and endless seaweed, but that's not a fault of the resort. The food was very good but predictable. The 3 restaurants were at best average. The entertainment was just that...entertaining but nothing that would wow you. Now for the not so good. There is no coffee maker or clocks in the very av [... read more]erage rooms. I would say a holiday inn express are a step above. There was no bath tub and the shower had a glass panel that faced into the room with no curtain. I do believe this is on purpose, so they are not used resulting in a large water saving. The Dunamar is quite out of the way so expect at least a 3+ hour ride to any excursion. There was to be 24 hour food at the sports bar but when we had to leave at 6am for an excursion there was nothing there but some hotdogs. The fridges were absolutely empty, with nothing else open. The water park is quite nice and is shared with the sister resort next door but be aware its closed on mondays. All in all a good place for families if the price is right

TRS Coral: Loved it!

From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the whole team was ready to impress. The room was impressive and the attention to detail was staggering. The restaurants were full of great food. Pro tip: order the Piacere coffee cocktail at the coffee house. Couldn’t get enough of it! The guests were super friendly, too. I’d go back tomorrow if I could.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Excellent vacation

This was our second stay at this resort. We chose to go back because of the amenities - lots of pools, great beach, great restaurant choices and wonderful food selection/quality. This stay, we experienced weather that was much more humid than our previous stay - as a result, the rooms smelled a bit musty and everything (clothes, towels, bed linen) always felt damp. This did not hinder our vacation at all - we just happened to notice it. 2 things to consider if booking this resort - 1) week [... read more]end concerts: the resort occasionally hosts concerts; these run Thurs-Sun (from what we could tell) and can be found on their website or through a Google search; the hotel fills up with concert goers around the weekend and you can hear the concerts quite clearly in your room well past midnight; our stay straddled 2 such concerts; it did not hinder our enjoyment of the resort at all, but our last night had rowdy hotel guests/concert goers staying in the room below us who partied loudly til the wee hours of the morning; when selecting dates if you think that might affect your vacation, try selecting alternate dates; 2) specialty dining: the restaurant selection is good and the food is great; their system for booking and accommodating guests is somewhat frustrating - we booked the restaurants we wanted on the first day we arrived and were given some very late (8:30, 9:30) dining times; what is frustrating about that is when we presented to the restaurants, even at our other earlier times (6:30, 7:00) the restaurants were half empty and remained that way during our meals; we would have loved some earlier times, and it seems as though we could have been accommodated (space wise) but for some reason, they only book their restaurants to half capacity (it was like this our previous stay as well); again, it did not hinder our enjoyment, it was something that we just had to work around. All in all, we would very much like to stay here again - it is a great vacation destination for our group and what we look for in a vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Deceptive Advertising

The main reason we chose this resort was the promise is 12 alacart restaurants. Within moments of checking in we went to the consierg to make dinner reservations. Four of our most desirable choices were completely unavailable. Most of the remaining choices were only available at 9:30 pm. We felt completely mislead by advertising.

Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: loved it

Good day We stayed here February 14-21 , an, as mentioned middle class Mexican designation. Many families that take over the pool , we are beach people and so no issue. This resort is small but ground are well looked after and the sunsets from there are most amazing . Room was great on the third floor with a view of the buffet , pool and Ocean , if the window was clean it would have been perfect but it was very much covered in salt and sand , no real issue Buffet was most excellent , no s [... read more]hrimps or fine meat cuts here , mostly Mexican dishes with a great sweet table , fresh pastry's for breakfast that included amazing pound cake and so all good to me . Vey tasty taco's Quesada's you name it , lost of fresh hot sauces . Maybe not for every one , but we sure did not miss burgers fries or any of the usual North American crap. Beach is great to walk , water only for those that respect the ocean , not kid friendly . Drink Service on the beach from 11 am on , tip large in the AM [ 100 pesos or 7 bucks] and you will get great service. Many restaurants , shops ETC just across the street , safe to walk did so daily in the evening . Cabs cheap to get to other beaches with better swimming. buy your tours on the flight there from sun wing best deal , if flying with them , in CANADIAN $$ We did not and paid huge in American that they then converted in pesos and so you get taken every time again . did a sun set cruise ,as mentioned paid to much but still worth it . Would come back in a hart beat , of course the great weather helped making this week for us to be fantastic .

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing as always

The grounds were great and service as always. Maid service was lacking this year and replenishment of items to our room and we are not difficult people just nice to have a coffee in the morning, Akumel is where we tend to spend all our time as it's not so quiet. Food as always is very nice and they are so attentive. We always get the penthouse suite for the tub but it didn't work well the jets didn't so we just didn't use it as much as we have in the pass. Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great experience

This resort is beautiful with lots to do and see. Great pools for families and adults only. Good food and great sleeps in comfy beds. Our daughter loved the kids club and so did we as we got to have some kid-free time to explore and relax.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Simply beautiful!

This is a beautiful grand resort. Family friendly but also lots of space for adults to truly enjoy a relaxing vacation away from the chaos. The grounds were impressive, rooms comfortable and clean and the staff (everywhere) welcoming and friendly. Air Transat staff were fantastic from the beginning to the end.

Paradisus Playa Del Carmen Roulette: Awesome vacation!

Our week away at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen was great. I would not book another Roulette vacation not knowing which resort we would end up at. Personally in my opinion it was determined we were staying on the family side right away. There were many a children & were not a disruption at all but would have preferred the ADULT side. A few negatives upon arriving we did not get requested 2nd floor or higher, ended up on the ground floor, king size bed had 2 doubles & we could not check in any so [... read more]oner than 3pm. We were the only 2 guests checking in at that time. Other than these issues and they did not tuin our holiday, we had a great trip. The food at all the ala cartes were top notch. The food & the drinks at the grill on the beach were yummy also. The beach along this stretch is not the best having lots of seaweed this year which is a problem in the Caribbean. The staff at the resort did their best daily to clean up the seaweed. All in all, we enjoyed our holiday but not long enough. This resort comes highly recommemded as well as flying out of Hamilton Airport. Air Transat flight was perfect having NO delays both ways. Cheers 🌴😊

Riu Flamingos: Not what i was expecting from a Riu

Booked with Sunwing and what a mistake that was. The flight delayed three hours each way, but that’s obviously not the hotels fault. The hotel it’s self is very nice looking, the grounds are very clean and well kept, and the beach is amazing. The rooms are average, what you’d expect from a four star resort. The service and food on the other hand is not. Most of the dishes are cold, greasy and sometimes under cooked. I’ve stayed at a few different Riu locations and this one by far had the [... read more] worst food. Many times during the lunch and dinner buffet you’d have to take multiple trips around the buffet to find something to eat because the selection was not great. The service is also pretty spotty. The pool bars were great (aside from no pool side waitstaff), but the Lobby/main bar was horrendous. There were always long lines to get a drink at night and only one waitress coming around to tables that didn’t take drink orders for some reason and was only collecting empty glasses and shuffling around chairs. It wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever been to but it was a disappointing experience and definitely not what I was expecting from a four star Riu.
