Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great resort!

The resort was very nice, lots of daily activities, great nightly entertainment and friendly staff. However, when we got there, our room wasn't ready because they made a mistake and gave us a room with one bed. We had to wait about an hour. Then when we got there, they had us in the building closest to the nightly entertainment which turns into a club until 3am. We could hear everything in our room. I went back to the front desk and argued with the guy until he moved us to a better location. It  [... read more]worked out in the end but we were exhausted by the time we got settled into our room. Having said that, the only rooms available were suites which was a nice upgrade. Our maid was fantastic. The downside is the beach - it was terrible with seaweed everywhere but we didn't care because we stayed by the pool each day which was always clean and the activity staff were amazing. I would definitely go to this resort again. It had everything we were looking for.

TRS Turquesa: Nice But Won't return

Resort was immaculately manicured and very clean Our room, when we finally got the floor we requested was a beautiful swim up (recommend upgrade up front). Most of the staff was friendly, front desk could've been more helpful. Food was not as good as we had hoped. One of us got food poisoning wasting at least 2 days. Restaurants are not well organized (signage, wait lists, etc.). Beach was nice, but lots of algae. Be weary of Casino offering free chips for a unfamiliar game that seems, and was t [... read more]oo good to be true. Would try another resort if we return to Punta Cana.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great value for the money

Grounds were immaculate and staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is quite large so be prepared to take extra time to walk to get where you are going or wait for a trolley shuttle. Plenty of activities and things to do throughout the resort. A big too large for my comfort, but most would find it quite acceptable. Large play area for children and family friendly. Only one bar out of many that served premium spirits - Hemingway Bar behind the lobby of the Grand Palladium Bavaro. The  [... read more]other bars served only domestic spirits. Buffet continental restaurants served a wide variety of meals. Vegetables were either prepared in sauces or oil - not to my liking. Fruit is local (melon, pineapple, bananas, etc.) and the same each day. Al a carte restaurants did not accept reservations - huge wait times which was really inconvenient. People started lining up at 5:30 p.m. If you arrived past 6:30 p.m. the expected wait was over two hours -not worth it. Hotel rooms were clean with the exception of low water pressure during peak times. Our room did not have a functioning shower so we had to take baths. Asked to have the shower looked at but it wasn't addressed. Pools were not as clean as they could have been (plastic cups, insects and leaves) - although the general area was well kept and the patio/chairs cleaned each morning. The beach was beautiful, however on this specific property, the area was more narrow than other Punta Cana properties I've been on. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The entertainment staff were a lot of fun and kept people entertained. Overall, a fantastic vacation and despite a few shortcomings, I would recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: great place

Well organized, clean, and great value. Beach is the best I've ever been on. Lovely pools. Restaurants are nice, service great, food us pretty good. For the price paid, if you have any complaints, you must be a chronic complainer... I will go back!

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: beautiful decor..tastefully done

I loved my junior suite with hammock!!!...loads of shade...beautiful gardens and palm trees...clean rest rooms..room cleaned well...staff excelente.....boutiques rather expensive when there's nowhere else to shop

Occidental Punta Cana: Occidental

We stayed at Occidental from Dec 11 - 18th. I found the Hotel to be a grande and beautiful resort, however I was quite upset that we were not notified of all the construction. I felt that $1500 was A LOT for a hotel under construction, considering that I took an all inclusive trip for 2 to Mexico for less than $1300, for what I felt to be a better experience. There were many small issues that individually, would not have bothered us, but collectively, it became a bit annoying. We were unable to  [... read more]get a lock for our safe for the first day and a half, which resulted in money being stolen from my room out of my purse. (presumably by a maid or other hotel staff, it was only $25, but it's the principal.) When we attempted to report this to the front desk, they rolled their eyes, and told us we had probably just lost it because we had been drinking. But in all fairness, I should have never left my wallet unattended. Some of the staff were wonderful, but many of the staff were unfriendly, and a few of them downright creepy. The one consierge in our building (#26, unfortunately we never asked for his name, big mistake! because the other fellow was great) tried to lure us off the resort with him, and then tried to visit me in the hospital. My friend gave him a fake room number, and luckily the hospital staff would not allow him in to the room with me. Also, our patio door would not lock, we notified staff and they had it fixed within 24 hours. Our air conditioning unit in our room broke, we notified staff, and they fixed it for us right away. The Wifi connection was incredibly slow, and for 2 days did not work at all, which was an inconvenience because I was unable to contact my family back home who were incredibly worried since I had been hospitalized and was unable to update them on my situation. My hospital experience was HORRIBLE. I felt that they kept me in there for an extra day just to get more insurance money out of me. they pumped me full of SO many drugs that my hand and arm swelled up like I had been stung by a bee, to which they kept shouting at me "not allergic not allergic". I didn't feel a simple gastro-infection required more than a dozen bags of meds (at $85 a bag). I couldn't help by feel it was an insurance scam. They also gave me SEVEN prescription drugs upon my discharge. I felt one antibiotic should have been sufficient. I know the hospital had nothing to do with the hotel, but it was a huge damper on my trip. This sounds like a lot of complaints, but our air-transat reps were friendly, and very helpful. They allowed my friend to use their phone to call me in the hospital twice, which helped me keep my sanity. Juan- Carlos and Jeff were absolutely terrific. Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: First Time in the DR, going back soon !!!!!

The Be Live resort was over and above our expectations.... the resort was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and the food was vey good. The beach and water was pristine and if you like long walks on the beach, then this is the place to go.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great Resort

We stayed at Belive Punta Cana from Dec 11-18, 6 people ranging from infant (7months) to mid 60s. There was something to do for everyone. Pool area was great and always clean, the beach was ok lots of seaweed but we always found a spot regardless of what time we went. Language is definitely a barrier. We stated in block 5 ground floor since we had a baby, nothing special was ok but it's far enough from the pool area and bar that it's quiet at night. Buffet changes things up every day but has the usual staples - pizza, pasta, hot dogs and burgers. Overall was a good trip with a good price point

Ocean Blue and Sand: Beautiful resort

The grounds were kept in amazing shape. We found that the room was not kept very nice, it smelt mouldy. The night that we arrived there were towel swans on one of the beds, we took the towels and put them on the dresser, this is where they stayed all week, they never got folded just left in a bunch. Nearing the end of our stay I put them with the dirty towels and housekeeping left them on the bathroom floor. Other than our room I would say that our stay was excellent

TRS Turquesa: Very good

Resort was better than most. Grounds were spectacular but outdoor lighting and stairways were poor. Some of the Tourist cars on the grounds drove too fast. Food was very good. Butler service and room service excellent and fast. The staff are top notch.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Very disappointing

Upon arrival our party was spilt up we had 15 of us in one building and the other family in the other side of the resort front desk said they could not help us. Rooms were old!! the renovated rooms that we booked were just painted LOL bathroom room WOW - sink leaking water every time we used it we had to keep towels on the ground under the sink. Bathtub WOW rust everywhere!! On day 5 of our vacation someone came into our room and painted over the rust with white paint. fridge not working we aske [... read more]d front desk to fix it 4 times all they did was unplug the fridge and plug it back in (I lost my daughters milk). The pools had mold all over them and the food was not OK but they ran out of everything everyday and would not refill. Entertainment was not worth watching we watched 1 show and never went back. We ate a 1 Resturant and while sitting for dinner there were roches that clawed along the tables.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Average Resort.

Hotel is a 3 star at its very best.This is a no frill non luxury resort.We enjoyed our stay but prefer a 5 star.Pool was clean and towels were always available.Food was average(typical Dominican food)We stayed 9 days and never saw a washcloth once.You will need to bring your own.Drinks for the mini fridge are few and far between(I think this is just a Dominican resort thing)Servers were friendly and did their best to get drinks in a timely manner.Overall if you are looking for sun and fun no fri [... read more]ll vacation than you will most likely enjoy this resort.We did have an enjoyable time with our friends just missed some of the normal perks that should come with a resort vacation.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great time!

The hotel room we had was a bit tired however the overall grounds were gorgeous and lush. The pool was fabulous and the food was the best we've ever had at an all inclusive. Would definitely come back again.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Very good for the price , location and facilities

Grounds well maintained, rooms very clean, tidy, great pools, specialty restaurants great meals, buffet food could use upgrading, good quality of drinks. Beautiful sandy beach, could use more often cleaning of seaweed but still wonderful. Very friendly staff, always going out of their way to help. Good entertainment

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort

Great facility with well maintained ground. Good beach but little crowded. Resort is big, entertainment and most facilities are shared with BP Punta Cana, Baravo, Luxury Esmeralda and Ambar. Overall services are good from stuff. Food is little above average. Esmeralda guest has 24hr wifi in most of area!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great Resort!

This resort is good. The food was good with lots of selection. They are a bit disorganized in setting things up, for instance we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and I had asked if they did anything for this and they said they send you up a bottle of wine to your room, as well as a breakfast in your room the morning of your anniversary. I arranged this with guest services, and we never did receive anything or hear anything from them. A bit disappointed with that, what was the point of even  [... read more]inquiring about it. Resort is kept very clean, and beach is beautiful. Lots to do there. When we checked out they never did ask how are stay was either, which I thought was kind of funny because most places do ask that when you check out.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Nice place to stay

The hotel was very nice, and very large. The rooms were ok, the bathroom was awful. We requested a top floor, corner unit, and didn't get either. The food was very good, lots of choice and enjoyed the theme nights.

Excellence Punta Cana: Above Exceptional!

This facility is the most amazing resort we have ever been too. My husband and I celebrated our 25th Wedding anniversary and it was most amazing to the food, the cleanliness of the resort and our room. The staff was most attentive and I must say that Yazury Moreno at the Grill Restaurant provide excellent and amazing service. Say hi to her if you go there!

Occidental Punta Cana: The best experience of my life !!

Everything went so smoothly thanks to you guys ! The resort was beautiful our room was perfect ! The beach was awesome ! The resort just seemed like paradise. I had absolutely no problems with the flight or signing in the the resort everything was planned out perfectly. Thank you so much for the best experience of my life !

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Stunning

From the moment we arrived to boarding the plane home we were treated with a level if service that exceeded our expectations. The staff from the from desk, bars, restaurants, entertainment, and housekeeping were amazing. The amenities were top notch. The rooms were clean, spacious, mattresses were very comfortable. The grounds maintenance were beautiful, as were the pools and beach. The meals were excellent. Loved the coffee house.
