Allegro Cozumel: Nice place but food was lacking

Had a nice stay at Allegro Cozumel. Food was the only somewhat disappointing part. The Italian restaurant was WORSE than the buffet dinner so we regretted booking it. The oriental restaurant was the only really good food we had all week and it was so much fun watching the chefs cook and chop the food in front of us... a real show!! Highly recommend booking the oriental restaurant. We booked the premium level and had access to another snack bar so we could have breakfast outside by the water  [... read more]rather than in the buffet area (which had a school cafeteria feel). The premium level was well worth it! Apart from the lackluster food, everything was lovely.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Great resort for family

This is our first time to Cancun and we were not sure how the reception is going to be but the minute we landed, it’s all smiles. People are amazing there and they sure know how to treat people. They have amazing staffs and pretty much all the rooms has beach view. It’s well worth the money.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Lovely site

Loved the site, the staff was very good and I appreciate their effectiveness and most of all the smiles they were wearing while making our stay a time to remember. Couple of minor issues, the fridges in the room are trapped in a unventilated cupboard and it trapps the heat inside making the units ineffective (warm beer). The pool could be a bit warmer

Grand Oasis Sens: Worth 2.5 star

First off, we arrived at the resort at 10:30am and was told to wait until 3pm to check-in. When we returned at 3pm, we were told to wait another hour because our room was not ready. Once checked-in, the room had a musky smell. Floor was not swept. Bathtub still had hair from previous guest. Room was humid and AC was not working properly. When the temp was turned down to 15 degrees Celsius, the room still read 24 degrees Celsius. The maid only makes your bed and does not replenish water, toilet p [... read more]aper unless you ask for them. At some point, it took them 4 days to replenish our water bottles although they specified that it was only done every 2 days. The customer service at the reception area was inexistent. This hotel is not even close to 3 star.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Nic e resort

Very well kept , clean . Spacious rooms . Staff was great very good friendly service. The main drawback was the beach , very rocky filled with seaweed and had a red flag the entire week . Entertainment was not very good and few of bars where open after 10.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing experience

This destination was amazing. Food, service, rooms, amenities and staff all 5 stars. Only complaint was they cut back on activities to fill in your afternoons in exchange for “experiences” like tastings

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

Our trip to the Valentin Imperial Maya was wonderful. The resort and grounds are beautiful. Nice sandy beach. The pools are great and lots of daily activities. Evening entertainment was great ! The food is very good. The staff is very attentive to details. We celebrated our 25 th Wedding Anniversary and the staff made it very special. Antonio , our concierge in building 5 welcomed us with a smile and made sure we had all we needed. Rosa, one of the waitresses in the evening was very pleasant an [... read more]d gave us excellent service. Armando , our waiter at the corner restaurant made our Anniversary supper special and memorable. Thank you, Thank you. We will be returning a third time to this resort.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort

it was very clean and well maintained. Shuttle service was adequate. the beach was covered in seaweed but did not impact our stay at blue bay. More control over guests which do not respect others noise levels. We were very fortunate to be on the fourth floor and could muffle the sounds of the noise from the parties on the first floor (all 50 of them) The food was very good at the buffet . Riu Santa Fe: amazing trip

this was such a beautiful resort. the view of the ocean is breath taking! the workers are soo friendly and helpful. I personally loved the food as well. i highly recommend this resort to people 18 and older! they have great parties for adults. it was a great resort for spring break!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good Resort for Families

We enjoyed our vacation at this resort. There was a minor check-in issue (the first room we showed up at was occupied), but they worked hard to resolve it. And we found the steak-house restaurant to be a disappointment. But the rest of the restaurants were good (especially the Japanese restaurant) and they have the basic all inclusive resort formula down well enough. There were great shows in the evening and lots of activities for the kids. I would recommend staying here, but I've stayed at other resorts that do it equally well and some that do it better.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Overall ok but....!

Basics of food, entertainment, service, and room were pretty good. Beach is covered in seaweed and staff could not come close to keeping up its removal. Water is churned and brown ....we did not enter the sea....we just walked the seaweed beach. Giant resort being built next door...at the concrete pouring stage. Royalton owns and promotes a "diamond club". It is sort of a timeshare and there is sales pressure throughout the resort. We went to nexus to book an excursion and there was a roy [... read more]alton rep right outside offering the same excurrsion for $100 less...if we went on a timeshare promotion. Another employee told me the house wine "tasted like shit" when trying to sell a wine upgrade package. Could not get a glass of wine on room service. You must carry your own up in a cup from a bar. Booking a dinner reservation at the Japanese restaurant was a joke. Must be same day starting at 3 pm. It was lined up and full by 3:06. Complete waste of time. Butlers are salespersons and cant help with reservations or much else. Clearly, these were annoyances to me but we still had a good time and ate well

Playa Mazatlan: Great resort

We have just returned from our stay at the Playa Mazatlan resort in Mazatln Mexico. The resort was very nice..over the top clean..the rooms were clean and great ocean front view we had. We stayed in the middle section of the resort close to everything and away from the noise of the town and the next resorts disco,no complaints..great area( walk out the front door and you are in the golden Zone) for shopping and restaurants. The food was great and a lot of choices,no line ups..Yay.. A la carts [... read more] were all good and the staff are over the top friendly and very helpful. We sat down at the ocean in our 2 week stay so the pool area we don't know much about( but always clear blue water and full of people)except they have good burgers,hotdogs and fries. The only dislike about the resort is the they have bands that play in front of the hotel(not on the resorts property so nothing can be done by resort) they are there most of the afternoon around 3ish up and down the beach so napping time is hard to fit in..LOL.. Maybe another suggestion would be an adult pool for guests.. There is plenty of children's pools and great fun areas for children that weren't used much,not sure why,they looked fun.. Over all a great resort..Would recommend a stay at the Playa Mazatlan. I would rate it between a 4-41/2*

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Absolutely Gorgeous

This resort was one of the nicest places that my wife and I have been to. The grounds were impeccable. The service and the people delivering the service were a 10 out of 10. We have travelled all over the world, and finally found a place that we will be returning to at least once a year. The food was great and just as it should be for a place of this caliber. The weather was just what we had ordered, sun and blue skies every day. WE WILL BE BACK.

Camino Real Zaashila: Wonderful holiday!!

We had not taken a vacation for a few years because of work. Several of our friends had told us of this fabulous resort so we decided to give it a try. What an incredible surprise we were in for. This resort beats anywhere else we had been before. The resort itself is lovely, the food great, the beach truly beautiful, but the staff are outstanding. So many people that we met go back year after year and I can understand why.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: FANTASTIC RESORT

THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT THE ROOMS WERE SPOTLESS THE GROUNDS WERE VERY CLEAN AND THE PEOPLE WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN. THE DRIVE FROM THE AIRPORT WAS A LITTLE LONG JUST OVER AN HOUR BUT WELL WORTH IT

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Best Resort Ever

Having traveled to many destinations and been at many resorts, I can tell you this is the best ever all-inclusive. The food is amazing (and I am very picky), the entertainment extraordinary, the staff fantastic and always happy (sincerely happy)! I cannot tell you how wonderful this experience was.....I cannot express in words the wonderful experience this experience was!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing vacation

Perfect weather, great staff, excellent food, beach was great, seaweed but staff clean. Rooms very clean. Did an excursion snorkeling in a cave and then to a sanctuary . Book excursions with travel agent, much cheaper

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Fabulous Time- Secrets gave it all!

Clean lines take the advantage of the view- every where the ocean! The staff are attentive and courteous- they offered smiles for free! Will stay with Secrets again! Los Cabos has sunshine at least 99% of our stay. Evenings can bring a slight chill but patio heaters are available.

Generations Riviera Maya: Overall Not Up to Expectations

To provide some context for this review, our family has been to five resorts, and our most recent three trips have been to the Mayan Riviera. For the past three years, we have visited the Azul Beach Resort, also a Karisma property. Overall, we were far less impressed with Generations then we have been with Azul Beach Resort. Generations did not meet our expectations given our previous experience with Karisma and especially the very inflated reviews on trip advisor, which I am now quite skepti [... read more]cal of. Pros: The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and have a stunning ocean views. (With the exception of building 18 whose views are blocked by the culinary tower). The entertainment staff are to be commended. In particular, the Mexican fiesta was the highlight of the trip. Quite frankly, the two ladies who ran the children’s piñata, were incredibly gifted and their love of children was evident. For our money they were the stars of the show! The bubble party was another plus. The pool bartenders were for the most part attentive, and the beach butlers were exceptional. The wait staff at Palm’s were the most friendly and attentive. The full length pool, while chilly, was a lot of fun and bouncy play structure a great feature. Cons: In no way is the food “gourmet”! Its quality and presentation was much less than we have experienced at Azul Beach Resort and the other resorts in the Mayan Riviera. The chef market is not open for dinner, and if you, like we, enjoy eating breakfast outside forget it! This was an option only on the first day and never again. When I asked why, the hostess at the Chef’s Market ignored my question. Instead we opted for room service, eating breakfast on our balcony. The quality was at best, OK. As pictured, one morning, instead of hash browns we were served what appear to be yesterday’s fries. My daughter and I also ordered cookies and milk nightly from room service. Only once did tasty cookies appear. The rest of the time it was packaged biscuits and once even corn bread! There are three main restaurants for dinner but only two of these are open each day. In sum, by no stretch of the imagination was there that type of choice or quality of food to which we have become accustomed at other resorts. The so-called butler service was anything but. Really all they did was try to sell us time shares, to set up a beach bed one day, and restock our fridge with water. (The bar fridge was not replenished during our week stay.) While there are many beach beds, only a few are shaded, and one morning I noticed butlers placing tee shirts, presumably to hold these beds for other guests to whom they were going to try to sell timeshares. I took a photo of this. The policy says “no reserving beds” but despite this there was the ubiquitous odious American woman who claimed five beds for her extended family one day! Entertainment started too late: 9pm for any of the shows except the fiesta and fire show. The cleaning staff were quite loud in the adjacent rooms, for travellers with toddlers, can screw up naps. We had trouble with the lock in our room not working, and this took two and a half days to resolve. Before dinner, the light on the lock was solid red and would not read our card. Some security guard came and fiddled with the lock and let us in. We attempted to verify that the lock was now working. Returning to our room after dinner, the light on the lock was again solid red and would not read our card. It was our toddler’s bedtime. This time two security guards came to fiddle with the lock and preceded to spend an hour and half trying to fix it to no avail while telling us, “just five more minutes”. Finally, I had to kick them out and tell them to come back tomorrow. By this time of course our toddler’s bedtime was shot and as a result we had a sleepless night. The next day the lock was finally fixed. While this can happen understandably at any place how it was dealt with it was nothing more than a comedy of errors. As other reviewers have commented, the beach was not very good. In conclusion, despite wanting to love this resort, Generations Rivera Maya was a letdown. As another guest commented to me while we were there, “At Generations they seem to say ‘No’ a lot”. Definitely not worth the added expense! We had a good week but next time we will give another resort a try.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great for kids

This was the first time I stayed at this resort, and I chose it for my son's 8th birthday and I have the following pros and cons Pro - Clean resort - Able to see a variety of animals ( monkeys, peacocks, coaties, iguanas) - Great service - very small language barrier - Always pool chairs available - Lots to do on resort ( segway tour, snorkling in the cenote) - Water park Cons - Large resort with lots of walking - Extremely rocky in the ocean - I had money stolen from my bag in [... read more] my room - I didnt find the nightly shows entertaining at all. My 7 year old son asked to leave 5/7 of the shows - Not much selection on buffet Overall I think it was a good resort, but will not be returning
