Barcelo Maya Caribe: Beautiful resort. Very Clean.

Loved the resort. Rooms and resort very clean. Entertainment was good. Service very good. Only complaint I had was the food. Pretty much the same each day and not very hot. Food should be hot. Even when just filled with new food it was not hot; other than that it was great.... Definitely would go back.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great layout & close to beach

This hotel has a great layout for older people. Everything is within close walking distance including the beach. Loved that reservations were not required to dine at the a la carte restaurants. Rooms are huge, with a sitting area. Could improve on activities for when weather is bad, i.e. add a couple of pool tables.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: BARCELO COLONIAL

If you have your heart set on the Colonial, you could be disappointed. I had been to the Colonial twice before my recent vacation in March 2016. It would seen the hotel puts you in the Tropical instead the Colonial. I spoke to quite a few other people with the same story. The hotel insists they are all the same now with the exception of the Palace. When I booked my vacation there were price differences between the hotels (Tropical, Colonial, Beach and Caribe). Therefore, you could be paying more [... read more] (hundreds) and getting a cheaper priced hotel. I hope this practice is fixed quickly. It would prevent me from booking with Barceló in the future. The grounds and cleanliness are spectacular.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Highly Recommend

The resort is awesome. Staff, especially the entertainment group, were top notch. Food was very good. The buffet on its own would have been good enough. I don't have much experience with all inclusive resorts but I would highly recommend this one.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Nothing wrong with this resort!

-staff are friendly beyond other resorts we have visited -beach is very nice for this area. Lots of loungers here and at the pool -pool is large and spacious. -exceptionally clean resort, grounds beautiful, lots of walkways etc... -no need to bring your own "drink" cups, but you might want to for coffee to go! -security is amazing, we forgot our safe open with our passports and signficiant cash, ID, credit cards etc...and rec'd a note to call security to open it again. Occidental at Xcaret Destination: So much fun!

The hotel is located in a jungle- so beautiful! So many different animals! The grounds are always clean, food is great, lots of entertainment, lots of pools, beach is very small(only downfall)but nice!

Grand Sunset Princess: Still a great hotel.

I had travelled to the Grand Sunset Princess in 2010 and six years later it was pretty much the same as I remembered with a few slight changes. Service is excellent. The buffets aren't perfect but definitely edible. The a la carts were much better. We did the Steakhouse, Asian and Italian. I would recommend all of them. The biggest difference since 2010 for me was the Platinum area. When we were there in 2010, Platinum was adults only. The pool area was quiet with lots of places to chill. Now it [... read more] is rammed by 8am, with lots of kids running around. I only learned when I was down there that the adults only section is now at the Yucatan side. The Platinum still has its perks though; private bar, concierge etc. but if you want the full experience with private beach area and adults only, consider the Yucatan. The big pools are still a lot of fun for people that want to let loose a bit. Bartenders were great and very entertaining. Also the 24 hour sports bar was the most lively one I've seen at any resort and loads of fun. The only negative I could say is the ocean swimming. Lots of rocks to cut your feet. Bring water shoes. The only place I found with less rocks was the south end of the beach, in front of the pay per use Beach Club (which by the way was well worth the 150 pesos per day). Great resort and I will visit again!!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Wonderful Resort

We loved the fact that this resort was in a jungle setting. The food was great! Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were kept really clean and the towel folding for the kids was amazing! We loved the beaches and coral reefs, saw see turtles, sting ray and fish in the waters of the resort. Super great holiday! Excellent coffee bar!

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Epic Week!

Great resort, good food, friendly staff. Lots of walking but we were up for it! Close to all the exciting excursions and nature parks. Fantastic on-resort snorkeling. The a la carte options were great and we had no trouble booking when and what we wanted.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Quiet and clean resort

No long walks on the beach. It is a sandy lagoon, great for young children. Enjoyed the open Beach restaurant, Nice view from the balcony area. Pools where well cleaned. Personnel was pleasant. Main buffet area Noisy!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Lovely resort a few drawbacks

This is a beautiful, well maintained resort. The food was excellent, loved the Mexican restaurant. Hated the trek across the lobby with the time share sharks waiting to make eye contact. We weren't impressed with the beach, nor the large seaweed burying ground. And we found the wine (both red and white) undrinkable - smelled like Koolaid, tasted like fermented Koolaid, and was served out of a glass pitcher - appears there is a large vat somewhere. Excursion to Chichenitsa was excellent, very goo [... read more]d guide. Recommend the nature excursion on the resort - very good value if you are interested in local flora and fauna. Staff were friendly but not warm.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Absolutely Beautiful

This resort is absolutely beautiful, but a little large. The food was amazing, there are enough pools that getting a lounger was never an issue. It is walkable or ride the trolley cars, to your room, to the lobby or to the beach. Lots of seating in the lobby, and in the theatre for the shows. Kids pool and a couple whirlpool pools if you want someplace a little quieter.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Nice resort

Excellent service and the grounds are extremely well kept. Luxury is a stretch if you are planning to just stay at the Sian Kaan. You must use all of the facilities (all 4 resorts) to consider this a luxury resort. Get used to riding trolleys to go anywhere. The sectioned beach is nice.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Nice

Nice resort, very large and a long way from town. Good food. Friendly staff. Hard to get a sunbed near the pool unless you got up at 5am. Really aggresive sales people pushing the Royalton club thing.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Wasn't wonderful...but wasn't terrible

The hotel rooms could use a facelift. They were a bit tired looking. However the staff work very hard at keeping the room clean. The food was good, nothing to complain about. But I would have liked a place to get a "Starbucks" like coffee during our stay. The amenities were far from one another. We traveled with two kids (4 yr old & 2 yr old). Needed to pack a massive beach bag for the day as it was a trek to get back to the room if you forgot anything. The beach was better than what I had expec [... read more]ted after reading all the reviews about how "bad" it was. The best thing about the resort were the staff. Very hard working and useful. This is a very large resort with a high number of rooms. Would I go back? Probably not as I prefer a smaller more intimate resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort

Everything was beautiful around this resort. It is very big, but it never shows. It is very well displayed and with much taste. We loved the different swimming pools, and changed every day. We were amazed to see all the work that is dealt with each and everyday. Lots of workers, gardeners, all there to please us! All very polite and dedicated to their work. The food was always over our expectations. I will return to Akumal (Luxury Gran Bahia Principe) Everytime we choose your resort, we are greatly pleased. 10/10 !!

Kore Tulum Retreat Wellness Resort: Not a 5 star

Beautiful resort but had no hot water. Finally changed our room after 4 days. New room had no air conditioning. Also, the service that picked picked you up from the beach and dropped you off forgot to pick us up one day. Not cool., Outside of these issues, nice quiet resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Bahia Principe Coba

This is our 4th time visiting the Bahia Principe Coba /Tulum resort. This resort has everything you could possibly ask for. Beach is amazing - shuttle back and forth from hotel but you could walk if you wanted. Hotel itself is beautiful and has a lot to offer, wifi in lobby, buffett has wide variety of food to choose from and a la Carte are also top notch food and service. Pools are clean and a few small pools for quiet areas. Rooms are kept clean and room service is quick. I can not say enough  [... read more]good things about this resort. Staff are very knowledgeable and quick to help you if you need help. Great place to stay. We are going back in November 2016.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing - our most enjoyable visit to Mexico yet!!

We just returned last week from Ocean Turquesa and it truly is, hands down, the best all-inclusive getaway we've experienced (of 13 resorts we've visited between my partner and I). From our first steps onto the resort, into our room, onto the beach and pool areas, and into the dining areas, we were not disappointed. The resort scored high points with us for: customer service - everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the resort; dining - we're a tad particular about food quality and all  [... read more]of our meals were delicious, fresh and flavourful. We especially enjoyed the Japanese and Route 66 restaurants. Also, the wood fired pizza at the Villa was truly some of the best pizza we've ever had, let along in Mexico; Mike's Coffee shop - it was so nice to stop in each morning for a latte, cappuccino, coffee, tea and even cold frappuccinos for a change; crepe restaurant - the crepes (savoury or sweet) were so fresh + delicious, we went back several times for lunch during our stay. In addition to thoroughly enjoying all the top-notch amenities and services the resort has to offer, we made new friends; went sailing with said new friends, thanks to the complementary sailing and kayak equipment on the beach; enjoyed a catamaran tour from Cancun, organized from the hotel (beware of the rum punch - it goes down very well!); and enjoyed a beautiful walk down the beach to the sea port town of Puerto Morelos for some shopping and cervezas. The resort also has a really nice area for children compared to other resorts we've seen. It was spacious and colourful, had a nice pool and play area and plenty beach lounge chairs for mum and dad to relax while the kids played. That said, the day we arrived the hotel was sold out but we maybe saw a half-dozen or so children our entire stay there. While I'm sure it's not a standard demographic - especially during Spring Break, we didn't encounter the stereotypical noisy party crowds. There was a lot of generations there and while there was definitely a fun vibe (on Wednesdays there's a super fun foam party in the big pool), great music and no shortage of cervezas from the pool bar! We've never returned to the same resort because we really enjoy experiencing new destinations but we agreed it's not a question of whether we will return, it's a question of when - and in my opinion it wouldn't be soon enough. This was our best stay yet and we look forward to returning with friends in the future. We can't say enough good things about our experience!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: I wouldnt say it's the best unless it was/is

I never go back anyplace simply based on the fact that I feel there can be better out there or more for the buck so to speak...well, after being here for a week, I can honestly say i'll be back. Hands down, the finest resort I've ever been to in my life.
