Playa Vista Azul: AMAZING ATMOSPHERE

5 STAR RESORT THAT IS REALLY 5 STARS. FOOD FIVE STARS SERVICE FIVE STARS ROOMS FIVE STARS DRINKS FIVE STARS POOL / BEACH FIVE STARS. Came here for my 21st birthday with my husband and we had the most phenomenal time. Thanks to Yolande and (can’t remember name) the short chef at the 24 hr snack bar for making our vacation AMAZING. Jose checked us i [... read more]n and he was so nice and kind, he offered us an amazing deal to upgrade but we decided there was not much difference from privilege to deluxe. Yadiana, Yennifer and Adianet at the lobby bar go beyond expectations and put lots of love and passion into the drinks they made. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Pretty good

We were a group of 6 friends and I would say we all had a pretty good experience. Myself and my partner were satisfied with the service, however, one of our friends didn't get as lucky. They did not get water bottles every day and did not have hot water in the shower. Water is very valuable at the resort... If you ask for another water bottle, 90% of the time they would say no... Which was a problem for another friend because they drink a lot of water normally. Everything was either hit or miss. [... read more] The restaurants were ok, the best was the Italian one, the others had similar dishes to what they served at the buffet. The best part was the beach, however we only had two hot days out of four, and the pool water was freezing cold so we got a bit bored when it was too cold and rainy for the beach, we brought some games though which kept us occupied. Even though there was no disco there was still night life which was a pleasant surprise. Although we figured out that the night life was actually an advertisement with promoters trying to get you to go to some unknown club off of the resort which was sort of ghetto. Tipping was not expected but we had fun doing so because the workers were truly grateful and gave excellent service if you gave them anything. Another great thing was the coffee bar, they had a huge menu of delicious coffee drinks with and without alcohol. Going with Air Transat was great too, they gave really good recommendations of other things to do and answered all of our questions easily. We all did not expect much, because that's just Cuba. If you want a five star experience don't go to Cuba lol. But compared to another resort we have been to in the past, I would say the food wasn't as good but the beach was very nice.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

This resort is smaller but has great food, the best service ( thanks Poncho for making our day start off with your smile and serving us breakfast) and I can't say enough about how clean it is. We will go back again and would recommend for families or just a couple.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Friendly and accommodating staff,

Upon arrival late due to a delayed sunwing flight. The resort upgraded me for free to poolview rooftop hottub room. Supper clean, awesome staff, tip culture was not in your face like Cuba. Can’t write enough how much we enjoyed this place. Food amazing great selection at all. Kids love the bowling alley and batting cages. Wife loved the 30$Us massages on the beach. I would honestly go back.

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing Resort/ Best Time Ever

First off, my friends and I have been to Cuba at least twice a year. This was hands down the best resort we have ever stayed at in Cuba - and we’ve been to MANY. Privilege section was more than worth the money! We had an incredible room with a view of the privledge pool and ocean. We never encountered a single employee who was anything but helpful and truly pleasant to deal with. the Sunsets at the infinity pool were out of this world! Absolutely must take the time to see them. Food overall was the best we’ve ever had in Cuba — lobster, shrimp, chicken, all great! The only thing worth mentioning was that the beach was a little small and there were not enough umbrellas to accommodate everyone.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not what it looks like in pictures!!!

We went as a group of 16. 6 families with a bunch of kids. When we got there it all looked fine until we got to the room. The back sliding doors look like they were all broken into and they would not lock. not just for us but every single room was like that. And we were facing the ocean and there was all jungle behind us so anyone could of came in at night or anytime. 5 out of 6 rooms the showers wer flooding the whole bathroom 2 rooms ac not working. So we went to complain and they put us in a  [... read more]small room with a guy 2 min later we were surrounded by 4 security guards and they said if we dont stop complaining we would have to pack and leave. Anyways we calmed down a bit and we asked the manager if he would feel safe leaving his kids in these rooms and he said absolutely not while smiling at us like we were idiots. So we apologized and said we we will wait for sunwing representative in the morning and speak with her. So next day we found her and told her everything and she said she will fix it all and upgrade us to privileged rooms and set us up with a private dinner to kinda apologize for the manager attitude which his name is Felix Mercedes i belive. So we moved to privileged rooms wich was even worse once again the back doors facing the bushes would not locked and look like they we all prayed open. Bathtubs insted of showers wich was a nightmare to bathe in no handle for shower head and tubs leaked.one of the safes didn't have a door at all. Door cards don't even bother runing up and reprogramming which we did over 17 times i had to clime trough the bush and on the balcony wich was only 5 or 6 ft up and go trough the sliding door wich didn't lock did that about 10 times and after that i just had to steal batteries from someone elses door because thye refused to change them so bring batteries. There is so much stuff wrong with this place the worst is that staff just don't care the resort is 4 years old anything u touch is falling apart. One day we got half a rool of toilet paper for a family of 4 and no water. Seen the maid in hallway asked for water shes says 2 dollars so bring water too and keep your kids safe every corner of the pool is missing plastic safety cover. Little girl feel in scrathed her foot pretty bad. Absolutely no care for basic human necessity. Bathrooms have no toilet paper the hand drying fan was ripped out dangling with wires exposed from day one and was same when we left. So if you care for your family's safety i would definitely not go to this place it sucks i can't post photos here but will definitely post on google.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Awesome resort!

I Really enjoyed this resort. The food was awesome at all of the restaurants, the sensai restaurant was my favourite. The beach always had chairs. The entertainment was really great to watch. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was so helpful!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great hotel, but dont nickel and dime me on the way out

Pros: Has 4 pools. All of the staff were super helpful and friendly. Food is great if you get there when the buffet opens. If you get there at the end, all the good food has gone. Price was great. Rooms are a little dated, but who is really hanging out in their room at a resort. Provided lots of entertainment if you are in to that sort of thing. Cons: If you want late check out, they want $10usd per hour over late checkout. Why nickel and dime me, when I just spent money to stay at [... read more] your all inclusive place. Obviously I chose all inclusive so I wouldn't be nickel and dimed. Seriously. $10usd per hour isn't going change your revenue much, but it surely buys you a lower review. Knocked a couple of stars off of my review.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing family resort

Overall this resort is very good. It is big yet very accessible. The food is delicious. The pools are spacious and clean. The service is 5 star. Safe and secure. The beach is good, although they have the occasional days with seaweed problem, they are working non stop to clean it.

Ocean El Faro: First of Many Visits to Ocean El Faro

After visiting the sister hotel Ocean Blue and Sand 20 times, we decided to try the new Ocean El Faro. Upon arrival, we were amazed by the very large and elegant lobby. After registration we were escorted to our room and our luggage was brought shortly after. Each building has two elevators which is a big "plus" for us as our room was on the third floor. There was a staircase inside our room which led to an upper level with a second washroom with a huge walk in shower with a rain shower head [... read more]. From this level a door led to a private, finished rooftop area with a large jacuzzi hot tub, chaise lounges and a sofa and tables. We also had a jacuzzi tub in the lower washroom. There is plenty of closet space and drawers for storage. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the lazy river which was a lot of fun for all ages because of the waterfalls, overhead buckets that tip, etc. The room was well equipped with everything needed and our refrigerator was replenished daily. The hotel pictures look like there is a lot of concrete, but there are still lots of palm trees, flowering bushes and greenery. The food at all the restaurants we visited was excellent and because we like to eat at 6:00 p.m. they were never busy and the service was great. We will be back!!!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Very amazing time

Had a great time very relaxing and also the food was ok not the best but it was still a nice time around the people where very nice and the beach was very beautiful we have stay for a week and the shows were super amazing and it was very nice to be in the sun it was amazing

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Resort and amenities getting tired

Resort and amenities getting tired... If travelling with young kids don't expect much from kids club - it was not opened most mornings, closed completely some days, and no staff interaction with children. No activities, no sign-in/sign-out, it was almost like dropping your kids off at a park and walking away... In terms of resort and services, we had no beach towels for first two days and no hot water and the activity staff around pool was very quiet with not much going on. We also had mice in the room that nibbled through a few non-food items (as we did not have food in our room but they were probably looking for some). Other items were ok and as expected. The only pool (other is for privilege only) was nice, beach entry, pool bar, pool restaurant, etc all you'd expect. Beach was very nice with a nearby beach bar & restaurant. Access to the a-la carte restaurants was easy and we went most nights - this food was great (esp for Cuba). The nightly entertainment was pretty good especially in the lounge bar (i.e. musical guests).

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice Resort

Nice variety of restaurants but only the Japanese takes reservations. The rest are first come, first serve so may need to wait 1-2 hrs for table, or opt for buffet. Disappointing beach. We had windy days that brought in large amounts of seaweed that wasn’t always removed. Other resorts along beach had much less or kept up with removing it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Playa Vista Azul: Very good resort

I loved the hotel and the pools. Food was ok. Customer service at lobby was very poor.Rooms are renovated and very clean, the only issue was the bed cover and cushions, they were dirty. Entertainment was very good. Music at the main pool was very loud.Ladies! Please take hair conditioner with you the hotel does not provide it.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Wonderful!

Hotel grounds were amazing. Our first room was fine other than the tub didn’t have a working shower sprayer. Resort took days to move us to a new room. As a result my friend slipped and fell and injured herself. That finally got us a new room. Our second room had a shower which was much better. Other than that we had a great time and enjoyed every minute. Beautiful resort, great food surprisingly and friendly staff.

Rooms : large , clean, comfortable king bed, AC, dehumidifier, iron and ironing board , mini fridge, safe, big tv, approximately 12 hangers, shampoo, body wash, body lotion, toothbrush/paste , shaver, mouthwash, shower cap, sewing kit and so much more. We chose to relax at the more quiet Privilege pool. Pools are clean, water is refreshing on a hot day. Lifeguards everyday both at pools and beach. Beach: red flag all week, it was nice to walk along the beach and enjoy watching the waves roll in. Bring beach shoes if you plan to go in the water. Food : Surprised foodie. BlueMoon adult restaurant was our favourite, With the Mexican restaurant and a close second. Decent selection of healthy foods in the buffet, impressed by the variety of fresh fruits and freshly pressed fruit juices. Café: good lattes , cappuccinos , etc as well as smoothies and a wide selection of teas and desserts. Good vibe. Bars : drinks are strong ! No watered down booze here. Service : exceptional from our room attendant , the staff at BlueMoon , Mikes café, the Prestige pool bar and select buffet staff. Very good service elsewhere. Vibe: Lots of partying millennials and families with small children. Not as quiet as we’d have liked, but it never felt crowded and we could always find a quiet spot if we needed it. Security : solid . Lots of security people walking the grounds of this beautiful resort. Gym: they have a great Crossfit area and usual gym equipment. Spinning bikes need some tuning. Overall - solid place to enjoy a vacation , relax , enjoy good service from caring personnel. Thumbs up!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Amazing Beach... Bad food

So let’s start with the good... The Beach and the ocean - our of this world, the water is crystal clear with soothing waves and the beach is soft with plenty of cabanas, umbrellas and loungers The staff (except the front desk staff) - but our housekeeper David was so nice and friendly and made fun towel sculptures using the kids’ hats and shoes to make them laugh! Now for the not so good... The food... the Italian restaurant Limoncello is pretty decent, but the buffet.... I don’t know why the food is soooo bad - they have the ingredients but their menu needs work - the best food though is the BBQ at the beach everyday at lunch The front desk staff - not good! Every single one of them was rude and standoffish during our stay - about everything - we asked for directions to a restaurant at the resort and got an eye roll, my husband asked for change and got told off as to why he didn’t get change when the bank was open earlier in the day... The key to enjoying this resort is adjusted expectations- it is NOT a 5 star resort but it is a nice place to spend a vacation on a budget - also it is a VERY long ride from/ to the airport, so make sure you use the bathroom before getting on the bus ;) PS bring bug spray for mosquitoes and if you like to sit on the balcony at night a citronella candle couldn’t hurt!

Playa Vista Azul: Great vacation!

Overall site was in very good condition. The grounds were well maintained and beautifully manicured (special thanks to the gardeners and grounds keepers). Staff was incredibly friendly with special thanks to the Beach Bar Staff and activities group (beach and pool). Food was average, there was always variety/choice to satisfy even though improvements in quality over other destinations (outside of Cuba) are recommended. New Year’s Party was excellent, plenty of everything. Great Value!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Save your money and stay away

We just got back from this resort and had a horrible experience. Rooms were dirty, stained sheets and chairs, door locks not working properly, room ceiling leaking, drain over flowing. We changed rooms after two days of fighting with management. Not much variety at the buffet and long waits to get service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
