Ocean Maya Royale: beautiful resort

small in size, which is nice great food including the a la cartes if your a beach lover and swimmer, this resort is not for you wifi everywhere on the resort great smoothie bar good nighttime entertainment

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Excellent stay! Great service and food.

Terrific resort. Can't say enough about the service and excellent food. As foodies, we were astonished to find that most of our dinners, quality and taste and creativity-wise, were what we would expect at a top notch restaurant at home. This we the best food I've ever had at a 5 star resort and I've been to many. And the staff there were all amazing. Obviously the hotel does a great job of recruiting and training excellent people. The proportion of hotel to property was higher than I'd prefer (I like to see more open space and lush gardens) but given it's location on the edge of Playa Del Carmen, I guess real estate is at a real premium. The beach is nice albeit busier than at hotels away from town. Getting a lounge chair at the beach was never a problem but the pool was another story. Luckily we like hanging at the beach. Overall I would highly recommend The Royal and look forward to coming back.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Pros and Cons....more cons than pros

Something personal was removed from my room, the drink service is very slow in the lobbies and the floor is very slippery ( I saw at least one person fall every day, including myself one rainy day). The resort also needs some repair and the food in bland. The room on the main floor smelt moldy and it makes me wonder if it was ever flooded. Getting a shuttle transport around the resort is near impossible, they drive by and don't check to see if you want a ride. I got one ride my whole trip, lots  [... read more]of walking. Pros are the "lagoon" of the ocean is fantastic and there is tons of wildlife if you look. The theatre shows at night are fantastic and the thai restaurant is a MUST visit. The pool are a ton of fun as well. The staff are super friendly as well.

Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: Restful, Relaxing Rustic Resort

We had such a great vacation! Our room was lovely, it was located right beside a small cenote that had fish and turtles in it. The two man hot tub in the room was amazing! We used it almost every day! We enjoyed visiting all of the animals and although some of the cages were a little small the animals did look well cared for. We kayaked with the manatees, we snorkled in a lagoon that we discovered in the ruined part of the resort. We relaxed by the pool and the beach front, we walked the resorts [... read more] rocky beach that took us to the Barcello sand beach, not even 5 minutes to the left of the resort. We never got a chance to go to the sand beach offered with this resort but we heard that it was amazing! We took the local bus to Playa Del Carmen to do some shopping, the bus stopped right outside the resort and we never waited more than 5 minutes. We walked a lot on the resort and what made the walks so interesting were all of the animals along the paths. Lions, Tigers, Monkeys, alligators, kangaroos, deer, birds (all kinds), iguanas and so much more! We really enjoyed the food, we never ordered from the menu so I can't comment on that but we had the buffet and it was always great. There was a chef at the grill for all meals, you could order, steak, shrimp, fish, chicken and of course omelettes at breakfast. The ceviche was amazing and we always felt like there was enough variety to choose from. Keep in mind that this is a small resort so the buffet does reflect that. We ate at the sushi bar a couple of times and it was so good too! The chocolate martinis were tastey as was the tempura shrimp, maki shushi and tuna shushi! My fiance said that he did not like shushi but he changed his mind on this trip! We would return to this resort again. If you like a relaxing vacation that is a little different then the norm, this is the place to go. If you want lots of activities and exciting night life, this is not the resort for you.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic resort

Stayed at Sian Kaan from March 1-8, 2016. The resort is fantastic. The highlights were the incredible food at both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. The beach area is great with good snorkeling right off the beach. Activities like zoomba, water polo and volleyball keep you busy and active. The short cart ride to the beach and other resorts is great to keep you from going stir crazy. Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Excellent Vacation!

My boyfriend and I booked through tripcentral in early February for our March 1 trip to Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Mexico. It was the best trip that we had been on. Below I have summarized our vacation. Rooms: Our room was on the first floor right by the kids pool. In my opinion, they should not put people without kids in the kids area for obvious reasons but that did not matter to us, being on the ground level was great as the elevator in the building was broken so this was great being on the g [... read more]round floor. We had requested a king bed through our travel agent WEEKS before we went on the trip, and when we arrived we had 2 double beds that both of us could not fit on, so my boyfriend and I slept separate the entire trip which was extremely dissapointing when you leave something in someones hands and you trust them to do something for you and you pay a lot of money to find out this was not taken care of. Our room's air conditioner was broken and we called the front lobby more than 5 times to have this taken care of as the resort that we stayed at was so humid, by the time we left after 7 days all of our clothes were soaked just from the humidity. Other than that, the rooms were fine. Food: The food was no better than Cuba. We went to Cuba last year and I lost probably about 7lbs from not eating, the same hapened at this resort. The buffet changed themes every night which was cool to experience new foods, but the a la cartes no one tells you before you travel that they are EXTREMELY fancy, so we did not bring heels or nice dress shoes- we brought flip flops on our vacation. Pools: We mostly used the party pool because of the swim up bar. The foam party that we had participated in was awesome, it was so much fun to do something like that. The other pool was the "relaxing" pool which had all the fun activities like water volley ball, aqua fit classes and so much more. Each day they walked around with a different animal and you were able to get pictures taken of you and monkeys, parrots, and so much more! It was amazing Beach: I don't think we layed on the beach more than one day. The water was so rough and murky, the sand was nice and white it was beautiful but I am a huge beach person and I was a little disappointing with the water conditions. Entertainment: The entertainment staff was great. There was always something going on, things to do.. the shows that they had every night were awesome. We saw The Lion King, and the Grease show and they were fabulous. They let you take pictures with the cast after the show which was nice too. Excurions: I was a little thrown off by the Transat staff who were supplying the excursions. We had booked a trip into Playa Del Carmen (free transportation) we had expected to be going straight to 5th Avenue to do some shopping. They did not tell us that we were going to be going to a jewellery factory where no one could afford to buy anything and then a tequila factory. Not once did the Transat Rep tell us this. This wasted half our day doing something that we had ZERO interest in doing. I was very dissapointed along with the entire group that we went with. We booked a half day excursion to do a cavern tour, cenote swimming and snorkelling with sea turtles. Again, very dissapointed with Transat's reps because they did not tell us anything about this excursion. When I got to the first cavern that we were exploring, i slipped and fell because i was wearing flip flops. Again, Transat rep did not tell me to wear anything specific. I ended up in the Mexican hopsital and had to get stitches on my foot, and missed the entire day that we EACH paid $75 American dollars for, and Transat refused to give us our money back. All in all, FANTASTIC trip. We have both said that we would return back to the same hotel in a heart beat. WE LOVED THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: One of the best resorts around!

Took my Beautiful Girlfriend to Bahia Principe Tulum and had a fantastic trip! Room was clean, staff were great, food was fantastic, resort is amazing! time of our lives! I recommend to anyone, just watch the timeshare people!

Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful Resort - not good service

Beautiful massive resort. Had a very relaxing time. I would not go back only because I have been spoiled by other resorts that offer top notch service. Here the waitstaff and bartenders don't smile, at meals you have to wait for drinks to be refilled and plates to be taken away. No Kleenex in room and stained bed sheets.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Resort

My boyfriend and I booked this resort last minute and totally lucked out. Everything was great about the resort and the staff were all amazing. Food is great, rooms were clean. Only problem I had was the beach. It is man made and not very big. The water is not clear and blue close to the beach area. So if beach is number one on your vacation list I would not recommend going to this resort. Everything else about this resort was amazing the pool is great and really close to the waterfront. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: we like the ocean there!

the food and service are OK. there were a few excellent people on staff but not all therefore we did not tip as much as usual. we are not to tip but you do not get the service at the bars or room drinks and food ( chips) unless you do.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Overpriced large resort without a personal feel.

Rained 5/7 days. Room smelled of mold and mildew. Staff "fixed" problem by adding an air freshener to the A/C, Helped a little. Hard to get good bar service unless we were waiving dollar bills at the bartenders. Resort was very large and we spent too much time walking between restaurants/our room/buffet/bar and beach. Price dropped by almost $2000 for our family and no help from tripcentral.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: great resor with great food and service

All around great. New resort with great service and food. Property is awesome. Would reccomend. Entertainmenent was also really good. Highly recommend. Beach had seaweed because of the wind but the staff was quick to remove it. Pool was nice.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Very large resort

The staff are friendly and accommodating. There is lots of walking and not very consistent transportation alternative. I did not get hassling by the "club" representatives, but only because I was a single traveller, others in our group did get hassled by the concierge to attend the meetings.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Awesome

Grounds are beautiful, staff is awesome some of the friendliest I have meet in the Mayan. Rooms clean. If you love animals this is the resort for you. Some rocks and coral in the water but all in all not a big deal

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great new resort

All around good bang for the buck. Great services and amazing food! Drinks galore and lots of pools. Staff truelly there to serve and be at your mercy. Beach was great, nice white sand and lots of chairs.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing Resort!

We went for our 25th Anniversary in February 2016 and I could not have been more happier! The food, accommodations, staff, shows, pools, ocean and beach were spectacular. I would totally go back again!

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Grand Sirenis Resort

I have only been to one other all-inclusive resort but I found this one met my expectations. Air Transat looked after us and the staff receiving us at the resort were pleasant and efficient. The room was good enough and met my needs. Being on the 3rd floor, the rain was loud pounding on the roof and the wind whistled through the patio doors. The pools were buzzing with activity. The concierge was very helpful and the check out day was painless. Overall, it was a pleasant holiday although I do not think I will go back to that area. I found it quite expensive with peso/CAD conversion.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Very Nice Resort

Very nice resort. Food was good as well. Beach could be a bit cleaner (a lot of sea weeds) but overall enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were very clean and modern. Everything worked well.

Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: Average Resort

The hotel is old. My guess is approximately 40 years old. It was destroyed in the hurricane about 12 years ago, and only 1/3rd of the resort is utilized today. The food was good, but selection somewhat limited. Service was great. Staff were great. The hotel has absolutely no nightly entertainment. My daughter had her beach bag stolen and it contained her brand new phone, some pesos, clothes, etc The staff took a report, said they would review security cameras, but of course they never did. In sp [... read more]eaking to a couple of Mexicans at the resort, they said there was absolutely no doubt in their mind that it was a staff member. I hate to accuse anyone, but I'm just passing on the statements made by the staff. The theft occurred at the pool, and my daughter left her bag unattended for less than 5 minutes while she went to the washroom. Needless to say, this left a bad taste in our mouth, and I would never go back to this resort. Nor would I recommend it to others.
