Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Good time had!

Rooms were good and had lots of room for a family of 4. Only had one issue where room wasn't cleaned one or clean towels provided. Mini bar pretty good. Resturants- buffet had lots of selection, we tried 3 al cartel and enjoyed them all. Bar service could be slow at times and the odd time bartenders were not overly pleasant. Pools at Coba were great, very big and the kids enjoyed the splash pad. Coba was super busy, it I were to return I think I would stay at Tulum or Akumal section, little more [... read more] relaxing environment. Over all I would recommend coba to family's, not sure I would for couples or a group aldult vacations. We got what we paid for and were overall happy!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Akumal

Hotel has a warm & intimate feel. Never crowded. Excellent location, right on the beach. No problem finding shelter from the sun - no need to head down early to reserve a palapa. Snorkelling right off the resort, even better a short walk down the beach toward Akumal. A la carte restaurants are excellent and no need to reserve early although be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes on occasion (can grab a drink a nearby lounge). Buffet is good, not great. Definitely an older clientele (50-65). Entertainment was good - nightly live music offered in main bar. Possibly a bit tame for younger guests. Enjoyed fitness facility and yoga classes are offered for almost any level.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great resort

Beautiful grounds,wonderful friendly staff & service,food great,rooms clean and nice,enough beach chairs,beach pretty,coffee bar excellent.The pools were very clean and the lazy river was a lot of fun.Alacart restaurants were excellent.Lots of bars and fast service.Did not find the walking distances too far.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing wish we would have had two weeks

The resort is beautiful we have no complaints can't wait to go back. Food drinks and service for second too none.next time I may stay at Akuma closer to beach. The hacienda was fabulous lots of shopping. Excursion to ruins and Playa del Carmen excellent.we went to gourmet italian and brazillian restaurants delicious. Rooms beautiful and clean next time first or second floor third floor two many stairs for bad back but I survived. Excellent excellent excellent Thankyou Diana pongetti

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beyond Expectations!!!!!!

Our recent stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal was beyond our expectations. The resort was huge and luxurious, not to mention that you have access to the Sian Khan, Tulum and Coba. The a la carte dinners were delicious and you have buffet breakfast, lunches, dinners and snack bar (24 hours a day). The daily entertainment was offered at each resort. Our beach was heaven. Water was clear and no sea weed in sight. The bar service was provided on the beach, poolside, lobby and your mini bar in  [... read more]your room. The grounds are meticulously maintained. We also visited a jewelry and taqueila factory and visited 5th Avenue in downtown Playa de Carmen, lots of shopping. Our experience is one we will never forget and definitely recommend it to everyone.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: GOT TO GO HERE

Definitely, pay the extra cost for a Penthouse suite with Jacuzzi on a private balcony!! Very nice. Butler service and room service all included, and a great perk!! Buffets(breakfast/lunch/dinner) all fabulous!! Premium drinks included.. Excellent service all around. Would book Bahia Príncipe again!!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: excellent resort

The Barcelo resort was fantastic! Overall experience was definitely a positive one! The Barcelo allowed us to engage in a variety of activities and helped us have a much needed relaxing vacation. I would definitely recommend is this resort to everyone!

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great resort

True that the beds are awful but that's the only complaint. They were very helpful and always asking for feedback. Food great. Snorkeling great. Great place for kids. Wonderful family vacation Would def go back

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great resort

Beach is washed out but resort is well kept and suites are beautiful. Staff is always there to help with every need. Location is amazing right on 5th ave. good was great, selection of restaurants A+++

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great feel awesome staff!

Everything we experienced was amazing! The staff was great! All the upgrades were appricieted nothing went in noticed. The alacarte were a pleasant surprise.loved having the service in the beach. The cappuccino were awesome!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Quality resort!

I am very satisfied with my choice of resorts. The location of the hotel, quality of room, dining choices, and service from the management and staff were all top notch. An added free bonus were the turtles and snorkeling right near the hotel beach.

Barcelo Maya Palace: good and bad

rooms, grounds, pools, staff, all top notch. A bit windy for most of the week so ocean swimming was poor (red flags) Plenty of fish to swim with, and a turtle or three. Not much in the way of "Mexican" food. And what was there, was rather bland. Buffet food was good, but rather repetitive after a week. I did not like being "nickle and dimed" Room service was "free" but you had to pay for delivery. Had to pay to use "Bali" beds. Room info book said you could have the mini bar refilled whenever yo [... read more]u wanted, but you had to pay for the service. 5star? resort with 2 hours of free wifi a day, three resorts away. First resort I have been to where Wifi was not free all day. (in lobby)

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort

Bahia Principe Akumal has it all! Great location, good food, comfortable and clean accommodation, entertainment nightly, great staff and very secure. Along with the ability to choose the other 3 hotel amenities is a bonus.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Third visit and even better!

The a la carte restaurants available to Sian Ka'an guests are essentially unlimited. Meal presentation at every dinner was very classy and selection was really varied. Our ONLY complaint for the week was that the housekeeping was sometimes slow or incomplete.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort

I've been to half dozen 4 star resorts in the Maya and this was one of the best of them . The grounds were very well kept as well as pools and buildings. Rooms were nice ,with best stocked fridge I've seen. Food was very good as well. The beach was nice , but the ocean itself was dirty ( Sandy) 3 of my 7 days ( I still went in ) . I've read alot of bad reviews but I say good bang for my buck . Some people got ridiculous standards and that ain't me

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Snorkler's Delight

This is our second time to ABR, the first was about 15 years ago. Every trip to the area, we end up cabbing back here to snorkel, so we decided to stay at ABR again. Renos were great, as was the snorkelling!

Great beaches - no seaweed, warm, shallow water...lots of room to relax in different beach areas. Can go snorkeling and kayaking right there. Five-star buffet, great restaurants and quality shows every night.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: What a fabulous trip!

From the moment we arrived we were treated better than we likely deserve. The staff were wonderful, the grounds well kept and lush, and the washrooms and public areas were always clean. The food was terrific, lots of variety on the buffet and the a la carte choices were plentiful. My wife needs assistance sometimes and uses a walker. Staff were very courteous, accommodating and helpful when necessary. The resort is very quiet, there were some games at the pool but it was a very quiet crowd overa [... read more]ll. Taking the Train to the other resorts and beach was not an issue, they ran all the time and we rarely needed to wait more than a few minutes. We would definitely return!

Riu Playacar: Fantastic Resort!

The RIU Playacar was a small beautiful resort. We were there from Jan 16th - 27th, 2016. The resort staff were outstanding, From the cleaning staff to bartender's and CSR staff. With this resort you can use 3 of the 5 other RIU's as well. The grounds were well maintained, food was outstanding, and being a $8 dollar ( US ) cab ride from downtown Playa Del Carmen ( 5min drive ) was a bonus! The rooms were very well cleaned. The wait staff especially " KEVIN " was outstanding. the bartender " ENRIQUE " and 3 other gentlemen sorry cant remember there names ( Lobby Bar ) were exceptional! we never had to wait for a drink. "EVER" the Coco Bongo Rep was awesome ( not sure if he was part of the resort ), but took great care of us when we went to Coco Bongo. As far as alacarte ( sorry for spelling ) there were pretty much dead, only because the buffet was so good. the pools were ok ( not a sitting by the pool person so ) the swim up bar was great! lots of room. Beach was amazing, water was bath tub warm. so Overall it was an amazing time at this Hotel! wish we didn't have to leave.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Top notch resort

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds extremely well kept. Very nicely landscaped. Pools amazing, food was incredible with lots of variety. Didn't care for the steak much though. The Italian restaurant was dynamite! Everything do flavourful with fresh herbs and spices. Sea Olive had the best calamari. We stayed in the newer section 15 and had the smallest room in the complex. The room was modern and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Not much space in there and not much room for luggage  [... read more]or clothing. Needs drawers and more closet space. Couldn't really unpack. It wasn't a big deal though. Didn't spend much time in the room. If we were more than 2, I definitely would have upgraded to the very spacious suites. Most pics on trip advisor only show the beach in front if the property. As I like to walk the beach, I was pleasantly surprised that the beach went on for miles in both directions. Luckily, there were huge sand bags in front of the resort that helped to block the choppy water and made for a nice swimming area. Several people stopped to ask us what resort we were staying at as they liked the beach set up and look of the resort. Never a problem finding beach chairs exactly where we wanted even though we went late everyday. Workers were friendly and same service with or without tip. We always tipped and it seemed appreciated, not expected. Didn't see many people tipping even after dinners with excellent service. Such a shame! Not a bug in sight the entire week either. Overall an excellent resort and an incredible week!
