A great get-away!

Our time at Iberostar Daiquri was exactly what we needed! The resort had everything we needed, a clean room with a comfortable bed, good food, and wonderful staff who welcome you as though you were a member of their own family! Some people may say that Cuba does not have good food, but if you eat a clean, healthy diet, you will be very happy with the food in Cuba. The beach was fantastic! The Best Resort

My husband & I have been to Cuba annually since 2015. With exception for the past 2 years. Of all the hotels we have visited, Iberostar is the best by far. Such a quaint resort and close to all amenities. Staff is awesome and accomodating. Food is plentiful. Must try the grilled Lobster. Highly recommend visiting Playa Pilar. Will definetly be coming back.

Not what it use to be 😢

Let me start by saying this was our third time at the Iberostar Daiquiri. We chose this resort because the first two times were amazing !!! Only half the resort is open , due to covid I am sure , in a way that was nice because it was rather full at half capacity! It was extremely difficult to get a spot on the beach or near the pool as there were not enough chairs. My husband would carry our patio chairs so we had something to sit on . The pools needed to be vacuumed as there were plastic cups and cigarette butts on the bottoms of both pools. The small kids pool could not be used by the kids for a couple of days as it was very green :-( . The rooms were cleaned daily by the lovely ladies, they left very nice towel art daily and were very thankful for the small gifts left daily. The main washrooms in the lobby could have used a little more tlc and there was rarely toilet paper in them. The food was the same thing everyday breakfast , lunch and supper:-( No fresh fish , very little fruit and basically just lettuce and cucumber in the fresh veggie selection. We arrived on a Friday and tried to get a couple of the al la carts and the earliest we could get one was for the Thursday before we left and the Friday that we left. The staff just didn’t seem to be wanting to be there , it never use to be like that. The entertainment was little to none !! Not much going on at all during the day , in the past they always had a game of something going on. They ran out out Beer, sugar, coffee, vodka, pineapple, no tequila or limes just to make a few. I understand that covid is a big factor , however in speaking with others at the airport that we’re just down the road , not one of them spoke of shortages or lack of. The final straw for us was we didn’t leave until 6:15 Friday evening, I tried to extend our room as they explained to us they no longer offer a shower due to covid, they said we could have it only for two hours as they had a booking for our room, BUT they advertise that they leave each room empty for 24 hrs due to cleaning and covid , check in is 4 pm ???? In the beginning I said we would comeback again next year as we love the beach area, but I will really have to think about it :-(

Enjoyed our stay !

The beaches and the people of Cuba have always been our draw to that country. Although the buffet was small, it was always full of fresh foods and was delicious. The variety was not immense but the staff and service always made you feel at home. There was always a stir fry bar, a beef/ chicken/ pork bar, a pasta bar and another one full of cooked items. Relaxing Frindly Resort

Our Family had an excellent stay at the Resort. The staff was helpful,friendly and courteous. Cuba has limited resources, but we were offered the best , safe , and comfortable hospitality. We will go back.

Daiquiri is like coming home!

Just got back from 10 glorious days of sun, sand, & total relaxation….Although i have been to the Daiquiri many times, this was my first solo trip there, & it was amazing! People are the best here, & treat you like family…. Beach is just as stunning as ever, not at all crowded due to the closed resorts… it was fantastic! Food, as always, was terrific, service impeccable. I had to change my reservation 4 times due to Covid, but it was well worth the wait! Seriously needed to recharge my bat [... read more]teries after 2 years of no travel, & it was highly effective! One thing that repeat travellers should know is that the CUC currency has been made obsolete! Most resorts will take Canadian money, but it’s treated as American! The stores are urging people to use credit cards…. If you have American dollars for tipping, the Cubans appreciate it! Enjoy 😎

A Peaceful Retreat

The staff at the Iberostar Daiquiri are excellent. They wear masks for their entire shift and remain pleasant. I know this is not the easiest thing, and I appreciate that they have such great care for their guests health and safety. The resort had just recently re-opened. Although all of the usual amenities and services weren't always available, we were well taken care of. There was plenty of food to eat - above normal Cuban standards, but not a culinary experience if that's what you're l [... read more]ooking for. The room was refreshed; everything worked and we had a lovely view of the ocean. The beach was excellent as usual. We took our own chalk and played pickleball on the tennis courts. The bicycles were in great shape and the riding was the safest it has ever been. They have finished building all of the hotels on the Cayo Guillermo strip, so the roads didn't have all the construction trucks we had become used to. Thank you, Iberostar Daiquiri. We will be back as soon as possible.

Needs upgrades

The hotel itself needs many updates each room ( and we saw three ) has something that is broken or does not work properly......our room had no hot water Btwn 5 to 8 pm the shower was broken and the AC had no control for temp so it was either super high or off which was not pleasant ......the staff was amazing and super friendly

Great Resort!!

We again visited our Cuban family at the Iberostar Daiquiri. We stayed February 22nd to March 7th. This was our 10th visit to this resort and most certainly will not be our last. We had a Seaview Room with king bed. The rooms are very basic but clean. Food was very good this year with a wide variety. We ate at both the buffet and a la cartes and enjoyed both options. Good value for the money!

This was our second visit to Iberostar Daiquiri, stayed last January with a group of 5. This year our group consisted of 9, visiting in February. We returned to this resort because of the things we liked. The beach, white sand, close to the shore line, lots of umbrellas, small resort so not so many people on the beach. The food was good, perhaps even better this year as the resort was full and functioning at maximum capacity. Buffet was better than a la carte restaurants. Lots of choices for fr [... read more]esh fruits and vegetables. Many dishes prepared fresh, excellent fish, offerings of beef, pork, chicken grilled fresh, pasta stations, pizza made to order. The restaurant offered different items each evening, sushi night, features such as mussels, crab, etc. Fresh bread daily, pastries, desserts, incredibly good icecream. Most of the rooms have been given a refresh, newly painted, new mattresses, pillows and draperies. New furnishings in the reception, and around pool area. However the resort is older and it does show in many places. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. the entertainment was some of the best ( I have been in Cuba many times). Every night a show in the theater, dancing that was very well done. In the lobby bar and area each evening they provided some form of musical entertainment, bands, vocalists, dancers, etc. As well as poolside live entertainment, music, contests, etc.in the afternoon. Bar service excellent, they went the extra distance by topping frothy drinks with hearts or happy face. Service not dependant on tipping (as was my experience at hotel in Varadaro - no tip, no attention). They did however run out of certain products (liqueurs) later in the evening (did I mention the hotel was full). The excursions varied, some well priced and others over priced. Trip to Pillar beach, one of the most beautiful beachs in Cuba.Pay 5cuc for hop on hop off bus or private transportation with lunch thrown in for 50cuc. Best value for money and a must to see is Buena Vista Social Club performance for 35cuc (includes transportation and drinks). The best of Cuban music by far. A NEW excursion this year at an off site Spa, good value for services at a fraction you would pay for at home. My only criticism of the experience and is not unique to this hotel. When I first arrived (late at night) and checked in, there was no record of my room preferences or links to people I am travelling with. The three rooms given were not even in the same building, let alone where we would have preferred to be. I identified this at check in and was told it would be two days before we could be moved. This is a common issue, not unique to this hotel. After a conversation with the hotel manager the next morning she was able to facilitate a room change that was acceptable. With a short turn around vacation (7 days), one does not enjoy spending an extra day or days to unpack and begin enjoying the resort. I would definitely recommend this hotel, good value for the money. This area is quite isolated, great for a beach vacation. If interested in shopping or touring, a different area of Cuba would be recommended.

Amazing Resort!

This hotel had the best staff, was clean, most beautiful part on the beach. Would highly recommend, only problem was the food but you don't expect anything more when booking for Cuba. All around my party and I had a blast!

Nice Resort

The hotel is nice but slightly run down. Our air conditioner wasn't very strong, which left the room with a musty smell the whole time. We always had warm water to shower! The food variety was fine and always plenty to eat! They could improve the snack options between meals. Other resorts we've been to had more options, the Daiquiri only had pizza in the afternoon and ham sandwich late at night. The beach was nice and great for kite surfing and snorkeling!

Great place to vacation!!

We, my husband and I enjoyed our stay at this resort. Rooms a bit dated but were cleaned every day, the lady who had this job was friendly, efficient, and professional. The grounds and beach were maintained. There was a wide variety of food at each meal, so you could always find something, lots of fruits, vegetables, breads, pasta, pizza, fingers foods, meats, etc. The staff was delightful, courteous and welcoming. We would recommend this resort!!!👍👍

Nice vacation

We had a nice time at this resort. It’s a bit dated but the rooms were always spotless and nicely tidied. We found the food to not be as bad as I’ve experienced before in Cuba but we did have to watch the meat as they tend to undercook things, even chicken. But if you ask them to throw it back on the grill they are happy to do so. The staff is all extremely friendly and always willing to help. They had a blackout while we were there and the buffet was delayed in opening and we had to leave f [... read more]or our flight but they let me go in and get some food that was ready for my baby, that was really nice of them, they didn’t have to do that. The one thing I found a bit annoying was that the non motorized boat section there is no help. It was me, my fiancé and 20 month old and we were expected to push the paddle boat out of the water on our own. They watched us struggle and it was really frustrating so I hope maybe that changes. The pool was nice as well but we are beach people. Lastly, the beach is absolutely stunning. It attracts a ton of kite surfers because it is often quite windy but it’s nice because it isn’t so hot all day. All and all, it was a nice trip and I would go back if the price was right.

Good time

Resort very nice. Got quite a few bites from what I don’t know. The bathrooms in the resort need more attention as they were always out of paper. Food was good plenty to eat. Need more entertainment during the day. Booked a beachside hotel room. Surprised to find out it was beachside and not beach view. We looked onto a field. My fault just assumed. Staff very friendly except one rude person at front desk who walked away when he was asked a question

Needed TLC resort

We were not happy with our room as it didn't have a king bed as requested and a few amenities in the room were missing. We asked for a new room which we got the next day. It was a much better room! The front staff were very accommodating. We loved the lounges. Loved the beach! Beautiful and clean. Bar service right to our chair on the beach, this was a first for us to experience! One day we even had a fresh coconut carved in front of us with Cuban rum added...awesome. Pool was lovely [... read more]. We didn't like the pool entertainment as it was very loud. Not crazy about the show in the Theatre. (We have attended many theatre shows over the years so we are quite picky!) But we loved the strolling Cuban musical bands in the lounge and the other live theatre installations!!! WOW!! The food was good but not great. Loved the Mexican Restaurant! Experienced some real Cuban culture on the Bus Tour to Moron city, which we loved and thought the price we paid was very, very fair. We had the best tour guide Elisabeth. The resort needs some TCL and some renovations. It probably was a 4 star hotel at one time but we feel it is only a 3 star now. We loved the staff at the Iberostar Dacquiri! the nicest, most gracious people. They made us feel special.

Enjoyable Stay

This was our second time at this resort. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean but the air conditioning only worked at times. The beach was lovely and kept very clean. Overall we were very satisfied and would definitely return.

This Resort has it ALL!! Superior Service

Loved! The Staff !!! Each and every staff member went out of their way to ensure our vacation was what we wanted it to be. FOOD was a plenty! 3 cook stations and enough variety that even the pickiest of eaters will be satisfied. They have many sauces, oils and vinegars for salads and to add flavour to your meals along with several dishes of flavoured salts. Entertainment staff fun. Beach is close, clean and aquamarine! Sunwing excursions are affordable and fun! Recommend the all in one. Our favourite was the rum snd sugar cane tour. Iberostar Daquiri has scooter rentals for $25 cuc. You can travel the island and leave to go to nearby city of Moran. Rooms are fresh and clean. Onsite shopping for souvenirs or forgotten toiletries. Cigar shop onsite too! with very knowledgeable staff. We went offsite to purchase and found Iberostar Daquiri had the best prices. Highly recommended if this is your first trip or 100th to Cuba. Keep in mind this Cayo doesnt have inhabitants.. resorts only! If you are looking for a trip where you meet locals or check out local restaurants and architecture you will have to rent a car or take an excursion.

Amazing beach and friendly staff

We booked this resort partly because so many people had great things to say about it. I was impressed right off the bat. Jessica at the front desk was so friendly and actually asked if my bracelet was good or if I wanted it changed. This was a first, they usually just stick it on and cut off my circulation. They spoke really good English too. We had no hot water for the first couple of days so o went to tell them and they were really accommodating and changed our room. We moved and all was well [... read more], they even called to check on us later. The staff everywhere is friendly, from maids to bartenders. The best bartender in the resort is at the beach bar "La Marina" named Einer. The food is good, we always had something to pick from and it didn't seem that they ran out of anything.

Amazing!

Had a great week. Resort is small so its easy to get around. Very clean. Rooms are fine. Nothing special. Beach is amazing. No trouble finding chairs. Had one pool day. Pool is small. We liked the beach better. Food is great. Mexican a la carte is great. Staff are friendly. Einer at La Marina is the man!!! He can mix a drink! We have never gone anywhere twice but we would go back here.
