Loved my stay!

Although the resort is not new, the rooms, public area, etc. Were very clean. The a la carte food was very good. The buffet breakfast was great but the other buffet meals were lukewarm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is a safe place and my sister and I felt very at ease.

Great resort

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Resort was very clean and food was amazing. The beach was excellent. No complaints. A very quiet resort. Mer my expectations. I will recommend this resort and possibly return.

Great stay

Hotel was clean and though a little older it was well maintained. Staff was friendly and professional. Nice beach and great snorkeling. Entertainment could have been a little better. We had a great family vacation. Relaxing as you want it to be, but there is stuff to do if you want some adventure. Would definitely go back.

Great Vacation!

Overall we had a great time at the Sunscape in Curacao. The resort has a tower section with newer and updated rooms but there are also older sections and the rooms are in need of some updating. We stayed in an older room and it worked out just fine. Everything is clean and the beds were very comfortable. What really makes this resort is the staff! Everyone is simply outstanding. The beach is private which is very nice and there was a lot of room for everyone. The fish are beautiful and swim right up to the shallow water but lots to see near the rocks. Food was amazing. Reservations were not needed at most restaurants other than the Japanese restaurant which is a MUST. All of our meals were very good and above average for sure. There were plenty of beach bars but we found the best one to be the Oceana Bar throughout the day. Kenneth was the bartender everyday and he is outstanding. Overall with some updating of rooms this can be a top end resort but we had a great time. Curacao is a beautiful island and the people are very warm. Very good family resort

We loved this resort for snorkeling right on the beach. There was not a lot of night life and partying so we really liked that as we have a 4 and 6 year old. We also rented a car and drove the island one day which was fairly easy with maps.me to navigate us. The excursions were quite pricey with a family of 4 so that is why we rented the car. We highly recommend the aquarium in Willemstad it was so cool. The food was okay but very repetitive and we were very disappointed that there was no seafood in the buffet. When you come to an island you expect some seafood in the buffet. You can purchase a lobster dinner for 2 for $160 which I believe is the reason they don't put it in the buffet so that people will purchase it.. Overall a good resort and would recommend it but we would try a different resort if we went back to Curacao.

Beautiful Beach

If you are looking for a small & quiet resort with a beautiful beach - Sunscape Curaçao is for you! Pros: Beach, crystal clear water, relaxing, quiet, and friendly staff/service. Cons: Not enough beach loungers for the number of guests, & some issues with the hot water/toilet in our room. Great trip!

My husband and I were traveling with two 7 month old twin girls as well as two other couples. This resort was very quaint compared to others we have stayed at, and we enjoyed every minute. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were having a lovely time. The rooms could use some updating however they were very clean. The beach has a break wall which made swimming with the babies safe and easy. Snorkeling was amazing too. There really was no night life on the reso [... read more]rt with the exception of the casino however, you could easily find nightlife outside of the resort as the island was easy to Navigate. One area that left much to be desired was the lack of chairs on the beach. For such a small resort, they really should have more chairs available. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would go back again!

Quiet retreat

beach and swimming area great, facilities were a bit dated. staff was friendly, food was good, but not 5 star. safe was able to travel around island by rental car, took city bus into downtown. if you are looking for action, this is not the place. want to kick back for a week, you may just love it

Has gone down hill!

It was my 9th time on the island of Curacao. I normally visit curaçao or Aruba every winter. It was my 3rd time at sunscape property and I must say it was very disappointing and will probably never return. Where do I start... 1.The Room was large and clean however the shower wouldn’t drain and most importantly we had NO hot water till the last day. Washing long hair in freezing cold water was a nightmare!! 2. The alcohol was super low budget!! Brands I had never seen or heard of!! I had  [... read more]canned pop, bottled beer or champagne all week. The juice/mixes we in unmarked jugs and looked untrustworthy! 3. Food was not the same quality as past visits! Best place all week was the Japanese restaurant. Honestly, I’m normally not to picky but if I had to compare this vacation I would compare this to Cuba standards!!! If I wanted cuba standards, I would have paid Cuba prices and received Cuba quality. 4. Some staff were super helpful and kind but most, treated you as if they were doing you a favour. 5.entertainment was good and the staff worked very hard 6. I had a daily alarm set for 6am to ensure we had a beach hut and shade. Although, that was annoying the Beach was nice, no complaints Doesn’t this all sound like a relaxing vacation?! Simply "PARADISE".....Wow!!!!

They bend over backwards to please & make sure your stay is what you may possibly have imagined ! Spacious , well appointed rooms, no shortage of hot water or towels. Fabulous restaurants to please the fussiest of eaters.Most important, the ENTIRE staff, Best we've encountered anywhere & we travel a lot! Defintely on top of our list of of places to go, we highly recommend Sunscape Curacao Resort & Casino & are definitely planning returning to this " piece of heaven" soon.

Mixed review

Hello there, Maria,,, Thanks for booking our trip, and taking good care of us with the wheelchair boarding. We spent an interesting week at Sunscape, Curacao. Nice hotel, and grounds...swimming pools were not what I would have expected...no lap swimming available, and not very deep. I must say that they are in the midst of renovating their facilities, ...because the restaurant areas left something to be desired. Meals were adequate, service passable at best. Room had flaws...shower door  [... read more]didn't work...from the first day, ceiling in bathroom leaked. Neighbours upstairs told us their toilet had overflowed....left us wondering why the ceiling continued to leak until the day they left..which was the day before we left. The hotel staff did not offer to move us to another room. Maid service was adequate, although we had to always chase them for towels, bottled water, and toilet paper. The smoke detector went off once and staff had to quiet it. We were situated by the Oceanic Restaurant where I believe there may have been a problem or two. On the first occasion, we realized the floor was the beach sand only. There I may have sustained many bites of some sort. All of the restaurants, except the Italian one had basically beach sand as a base with perhaps wood floors over. I am suffering quite a bit now that I am home, with extraordinarily itchy, burning bites all over my limbs...No see ums or mosquitoes, I don't know which...may have to take a trip to the doctors office for this...they are seemingly becoming infected. My travel partner became violently ill the first night with a stomach problem,,,we trace it back to a dish at the Oceania,,,civache, I believe it was called. No other plausible explanation for it. I had heat stroke I believe one night....heat was truly unbearable for me at times. It did seem as though families would have appreciated the facility though as it seemed to be child oriented and family friendly. I liked the all inclusive part....we didn't have to pay for any amenities or extras. Aquarium was a nice trip,,,and close to hotel. That was a positive thumbs up. And Willemstad was nice, although the heat prevented us from exploring it further. It was a good souvenir hunting excursion though. And the tour operators were very good. We even got a ride from another hotel's tour bus driver when the city bus was not available to us,,,for no charge! Very nice staff and people there on the island. Perhaps you should warn people about the bugs, and to bring bug spray, ...had I known about this problem, I would have packed some, and used it prior to. The beach was lovely though, as well as the ocean waters, and availability of kayaking, diving equipment, etc was good, although I did not make use of this.

Exceeded our expectations

We chose this resort for the snorkeling. It’s our fourth time there. The beach with the offshore breakwater/reef is the perfect habitat for a huge variety of fish. You name it we saw it including a green moray and a spotted eel. It’s always calm on the inside of the reef and the outside is calm enough some days with all kinds of healthy coral and great visibility. We had no complaints about food or drink. Quite satisfactory and well maintained by daily maid service. What struck me most was how helpful all the staff were and it was a pleasure to watch them Interact - they all gave the impression that they enjoy working there and are treated well. We will be going back.

Big disappointment!!!!

We had no issues with Air Canada flights but we were very disappointed with the Sunscape and Sun Club upgrade that we paid extra for, for the following reasons. Problems accessing our room (8105) upon arrival - Required door repairs. Patio door wouldn't open in this room either. No wash cloths or hand towels on several occasions Shower door allowed water to spray out all over floor in room 8104 A/C didn't work in Rm 8105 for 2 days. A/C repaired day 3 in Rm 8105 (as well as shower door  [... read more]which we were not told about - no use of room all day Tues until about 4 pm) - nothing but a "sorry for the inconvenience " from the hotel Shower drain was clogged and didn't drain very well in 8105 - had to call service again Room 8104 had issues with safe 3 times Pillows were awful - very small Food was terrible - precooked hamburger/hot dogs, fries, pasta at 2 restaurants for lunch, breakfast food was rarely hot unless you had a fresh cooked omelet Dinner buffet was very limited - not much selection A la carte restaurants were mediocre except Japanese restaurant was very good. New washroom/shower construction right at the pool area outside our rooms which we weren't made aware of. Lots of noise and concrete dust by the pool! Buffet restaurant was also under construction which we only heard about 2 weeks before our trip. As for the extra we paid for "Sun Club" we cannot see what we paid extra for. The check in took longer and the VIP lounge was at the front reception area at the opposite end of the resort. The red wine was terrible-unless you wanted to buy wine in the restaurants. The pool bar by building we were in had no blender drinks like the main pool bars. The location of this resort is stunning and the staff for the most part were friendly. We made the best of this vacation but would definitely not recommend this resort.

Amazing Resort!

Just returned from a week at Sunscape Curacao. Excellent hotel. Staff are extremely friendly and offer terrific service. The beach and pool were great. Perfect spot if you enjoy snorkeling. Will definitely be returning!!

Sunscape Curacao

Curacao is a beautiful island! Sunscape hotel was fantastic overall. Excellent service, staff very helpful. Entertainment staff has boundless energy! Hotel and grounds very clean. Lots of activities and abundant beach area. Only issue was the food. Need more variety with the lunch and dinner menus, especially the buffets. At the buffets, the same menu was used for lunch and dinner for the entire week. And yes--the restaurants for dinner have different selections. Great Resort

The rooms were very clean. They were cleaned daily and our fridge was stocked. Loved our oceanfront room. The staff was friendly and the entertainment staff was A lot of fun. My only complaint was the food. It lacked variety. The buffet was always the same and the restaurant meals could use revamping. I loved the coffee cafe. And the evening snacks that was provided. The drinks were strong.

Wonderful staff, nice beach

Used to be a very enjoyable resort. This year, cold food, one bar only had Bacardi which they would regularly tun out of, renovations etc. We were told about the renovations approx 12 hours before departure. Prices went way up but Resort has become a 2*. Will not go back!!! Absolutely no fun, a lot of very unhappy people.

Fantastic family resort - lovely beaches

Extremely well managed resort- staff are genuinely kind to all guests and one another! The food varies and it is never difficult to get a table for dinners. The beach and pool areas are well kept. The resort is perfect for families

Excellent family resort

This report is perfect for families with young and teen children. The beach is amazing and the hotel is small enough to feel safe for youngsters to wander around, but big enough to offer enough variety of services.
