Overall okay

Pick up from airport was smooth. We were given a room in the 205 buildings. Unfortunately this was the area that was not updated yet, very old and run down. Had to upgrade for 20$pp/n to nicer junior suites

Beware

A very pretty resort, also very large. We stayed for 16 days this fall, and quite enjoyed the resort, the food was quite good, lots of shuttle buses to get you around, and friendly staff. The down side is when you get to your room there is a list of items in the room, and they tell you on this list if any items are missing you will have to pay for them. We read over the list and thought to ourselves okay, but we are not going to take anything so no big deal. Well that was until we had checked ou [... read more]t had our baggage on the bus and where waiting to go to the airport, and then someone from the front desk came and asked who was in this room and he mentioned our room number. I said that is me and he said you will have to come with me. I followed him back to the front desk where I was told that I had stolen two spoons from our room and must return them or pay $4.00 US. I was flabergsted, I told him that I most definately had not stolen anything much less to spoons, but it fell on deaf ears. Not having any American cash I paid $210.00 Dominican Pesos (for which they gave me a receipt. Over the course of 16 days we left over $8,000.00 in Dominican Pesos ($200.00 Candian) in tips to various staff members at the hotel. Now I realize that we should have taken a compete inventory of the items in our room and reported that we never had any sppons in the first place I also realize on that basis it is my or our fault. But that is just plain nickle and diming, and as such the resort has lost a new client and we will never return nor will we ever recommend that place. So just be advised don't go there but if you do count and verify each and every item on the list or else.

Fantastic resort - zero complaints!

My girlfriend and I had and absolutely amazing week. The room was always clean, the resort was beautiful, the service was impeccable, the food was delicious and we also had great weather. My girl friend is vegan and she was able to find something to eat at every restaurant.

Beautiful and Friendly Resort

Great vacation. From start to finish. Rooms are large clean and modern. Upon arrival we were upgraded (no charge ) to a suite as the resort was not overly busy. The grounds are well kept and clean. The MANY pools are immaculate. It is very large as there are 3 hotels on the property and you have access to many of the sister hotels amenities. The best part of our stay though had to be the staff. Was not impressed

The only thing i liked was the staff, i have been to most of the Caribbean islands, never have i seen a resort have no bacon , no real sausage, no ice cream. The bars close at 12 midnite, the beaches were filthy, the ocean had debri flouting around. The room had a leaky shower that soaked the floor when you used it.one of the taps had no water. The place was more of a 3 star not a 4. There you have it, cause you asked.

Great Resort

Everything very clean, food was great, service was excellent. Lots of choices for restaurants and bars. Staff very friendly. Shows were great. Only one complaint is that I wish there was a cafe on the resort.

Horrible experience

ello, my name is Holly Desrosiers I had booked a package to Dominican Republic just arrived home lastnight. My experience was nonethenless traumatic and horrible. I had sent this email 2 days into my trip but the wifi i had paid 100$ for was not working on top of everything else that could possibly go wrong. Our room had problem after problem and it wasnt until the second last day of our trip that we were finally moved into a new room with ac and working plugs. Our first room had no ac so y [... read more]ou can see in our attached pictures it was melting away, our suitcases were wet from the leaks and humidity in the room along with all the plugs so we couldnt even so much as charge our phones i had purchased 3 different chargers thinking it was my phone when finally i asked a worked to plug my phone into their charger so every morning i went to the cigar shop and dropped off my phone to charge , Our bath tub was clogged so everytime we showered it was dirty water up our legs and then after that was fixed our bathroom ceiling was leaking which left my hAir straightener broken , i wish this was the end. After this was “fixed” my entire bathroom was dirty from the ceiling leak we waited 4.5 hours for someone to come clean it up, i would have cleaned it myself if they wernt charging $20 for a new towel. This hotel should absolutely be a 2 star resort , the food is horrendous and old and cold ! The service is horrible if youre not tipping EVERY single time , and if you are a vegetarian good luck to you, my husband had to eat off the resort multiple times because all that was available for him was rice and beans or fruit .. the spa harassed us every single day, we purchased a $250 USD spa package and they STILL bothered us everyday for more even though we didnt even get what we paid for to begin with. On our second day we were walking to find food because it was scarce to find any, and this worker told us he will bring us he seemed so sweet and welcoming and knew we were upset …. He brang us on a 5 minute golf cart ride to the vip section to be harassed into buying an 11k timeshare , i just explained i was hungry and now i am left 20 mins walking distance from where i needed to be , when they realized we were not interested the customer service was out the window and u were treated horrible compared to the vip guests. This resort is completely segregated, vip is treated amazing and have so many options when the regular guests are treated horrible . This was my first time booking through trip central and i could honestly say it will be my last. I would highly not recommend cofresi palm resort to anyone !

The absolute worst service, Terrible hotel

We had the worst time during our stay! The staff are rude, had no consideration for patrons (my mother) with accessibility issues. We had the worst experience ever and would not return or recommend this hotel to anyone. Our group was over looked many times over the locals visiting on the weekend. Rude comments were made by staff as they didn't realize we spoke and understood Spanish. Tripcentral and Air transat should stop sending Canadaians there everyone on our flight was complaining! My room was great even up grade

My first stay in the passed I would go here every time my room was never cleaned .I cleaned the room the whole week I requested towels every day my whole family stay togather .love the pools but I'd say they only thing was pools the food was horrible, every time I ate it was late wen I arrived no food all day was not happy .The food was so shitty no one at most dinner or lunch I was so sick of fries ,hambers ,hotdogs garbage food seriuly waste of my money

Amazing resort

The staff was amazing and all the accommodations where amazing. Would book again in a heart beat. The rooms where great and the view where amazing. The breakfast was small but the rest of the meals where amazing

Don’t stay here

Save your money and book elsewhere! To make a long story short here are just a few highlights… took us over two hours to check in our keys didn’t work which took another half an hour to get into our room finally at 1:30am. The next morning we had absolutely no running water, our toilet didn’t work. They offered a new downgraded room or pay an extra $250 to upgrade or stay in our room and hopefully everything gets fixed. The cleaning of the rooms was just making the beds and replacing the bathroom towels. Our floors got mopped once during the week. Not one day did we get the beach towels we were supposed to nor was our fridge restocked with water like it was supposed to be when we called the front desk as well as guest services they were rude and said they’d be sent to our room nothing ever came even though we called everyday. They try to rope you into a timeshare every time you turn around and won’t leave you alone no matter how many times you say no thank you I’m not interested. The beach was not raked and full of seaweed. I can go on and on but unfortunately I don’t have enough space. This is not a 4 star resort by far!

Wonderful Resort

They entertainment and excursions were wonderful. Food was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Lots to do for people of all ages. Only issue we observed was the showers (temperature and pressure) but other than that it was perfect

Great hotel for the money

The hotel was pretty decent. The rooms were a little outdated but we didn’t care because we were just in there to sleep and change. So many amazing pools to choose from. It’s nice that there are a lot of adult only pools to choose from as well. The entertainment staff are super friendly. There were games a few times a day and most could also be played by kids. There’s a casino on site which also has complementary nachos and popcorn (which my daughter would as us to get her because they were so good!) The beach was nice, but so wavy we couldn’t really go out. Obviously not the hotels fault, but still a bummer. Lots of food selections for everyone. There were even a ton of options for us to give to our 7.5 month old who is just starting on solids! I would happily book at this hotel again.

Cofresi Palm Beach Resort

The hotel was very clean, bathrooms, rest areas, beach area etc. The staff was very nice and engaging. The only issue we had was they allowed the locals to come on to the property for Easter weekend. They took over the place and they were very rude. I thought about it, and realized that goes on everywhere. I have never been to a hotel where they allowed the local people in.

Good for the money

lots of pros and cons about this resort. considering we paid less than 800 each, the trip was well worth it. food was decent although ala cartes were always booked up. tried to book rodizzo on the first night and it was booked for the entire week. the beach was small and secluded, and one end was perfect for snorkeling. wifi was pretty crappy, but you do get one hour a day for free. souvenirs, drinks, smokes etc are more expensive here than other countries like cuba or mexico, and alth [... read more]ough the sales people are really aggressive they dont like to negotiate. the resort is huge, with lots of stairs, but there is a shuttle running about every 15 mins and we never had a problem catching it. our room was kept clean and everything worked well. we were given 4 coors lites in our fridge as a welcome gift. freddy is a good rep and helped us book the paradise island tour, which is awesome, as long as you pay the extra for the catamaran, otherwise your just riding a motorboat to a sandbar. the vague septic smell is a real thing but didnt keep s from enjoying ourselves. we would go again

Beautiful Resort

Nothing to complain about at this resort. Laid out extremely well with tons of options for food/drink/swimming/entertainment. This resort is not for people with mobility issues though! Lots of stairs and hills to climb.

Had an amazing week

Appreciated that there was a host named Freddie for air transat. Shuttle to and from airport is all included. Cofresi staff were amazing and positive. No issues with our rooms or experience. Generally would say if you go with this hotel, book your a la carte meals early in the week to get a good reservation. Otherwise I enjoyed the performances and events at the lobby.

Ugh!

We have been here before so we knew what to expect in terms of the size of the resort, the large amount of stairs, the hustle and bustle of golf carts, motorbikes and buses and the run down rooms. However we were very disappointed with our visit this time. We booked for 14 days and half way through we were wishing it was time to leave. He is such an amazing person even though we had a language barrier. The Pearl buffet offered a good variety of food. It did get a little repetitive after 14 days, but that’s to be expected haha. The staff serve you at the buffet and all self serve items like bread, buns, cheese are all Saran wrapped in individual servings. We also enjoyed the hamburger and fries down at the beach. I did get sick for 2 days and I’m assuming it was from the extremely undercooked bacon I had one morning. I only ate part of a slice because it was horrible - but was down for 2 days vomiting etc. The resort gets over run with locals from Friday - Sunday….and I mean over run. It gets to be quite overwhelming as some of them act like they are more entitled to be there than you, they are rude and will cut in line. We definitely enjoyed Monday - Thursday much more. Don’t even bother going to the casino unless you are VIP. They claim everyone is welcome, but that’s definitely not how you are treated when you walk in. We tried to get a drink and the bartender ignored us for about 5 mins while actively serving the other 3-4 people. Then when we finally got served you could see how irritated he was just serving us. I guess we weren’t high enjoy up the totem pole to warrant decent customer service. We stayed about 30 mins, left and never went back. We walked over to the Tropical one day just to check it out and look around. We tried to get down to the beach so we could walk back to Cofresi side but weren’t allowed access because you had to be VIP to access the beach. Like seriously, we just wanted to walk through to the beach. We weren’t trying to use the VIP area, bars or restaurants…just simply walk down the path to the water. Ridiculous! We literally had to struggle daily to get an adequate amount of drinking water!! Housekeeping would leave 2-3 500ml bottles and if we asked we sometimes got 1 extra. You could only get plastic cups of water at the bars/restaurants. We ended up saving our empty bottles and going down to the pool bar each day to fill them up. Getting sugar and cream so you could have a coffee in the room was also like pulling teeth. Some waitresses would give you sugar packs if you asked and we saw other people order a glass of milk and then pour into water bottle. Great idea but we didn’t notice that until near the end of our stay. If you want any snacks (chips, pop, chocolate) or need any items like Tylenol, tampons, cigarettes, beer ect we highly recommend walking 5 mins off the resort to the local store as you will pay WAYYY less than if you buy anything at the duty free shop that is grossly overpriced!! To get to the store, walk down the beach towards Ocean World, you will be able to tell when you are off resort as it gets pretty dirty with garbage ect. You will see a grassy open park like area - the store is directly across the road. Well worth the short walk for sure. My husband bough cigarettes at the duty free and paid $10 a pack, same pack at the local store was $5. Speaking of the duty free - when we were in there the lady working was visibly sick. She was coughing, sneezing, runny nose the whole works. She had a face cloth in the hand that she used to wipe her nose and never once put it down while serving us. Never sanitized her hands nor was she wearing a mask. Pretty disturbing while we still have covid lurking around. I understand that she may not be able to miss work but there were 2 other staff just hanging around leaning on the counter that could have served customers so she could be more behind the scenes. If you are looking for drugs or prostitutes just go to the front of the resort as they all hang out just off the resort property. My husband was literally approached by a prostitute 5 mins after we arrived while we were checking in. Not the best way to make people feel welcome lol. Overall, we were happy to finally travel after 2 years. We enjoyed to beautiful weather and relaxation, but we would not go back to this resort again. There was just too many negative points that we can’t overlook.

Great value!

Interesting place. It's giant resort. Like 4 different ones that you can access. The time share game is real here. They'll find you walking around and tell you they forgot to give your welcome package (it's to sell you a timeshare) just tell them you already got it. At the buffets, the cooks serve you, still in COVID mode I guess....oh and golf carts... Golf carts everywhere lol.
