Pretty good!

Our stay was pretty good! Food was good and the rooms were clean. The view was beyond beautiful! However the beach has locals on it which was neat at first until they kept trying to make us buy stuff and do not like no for a answer.. my husband and I started avoiding the beach area because how can you enjoy it when your non stop being bothered on buying something you’ve already said no to. Some of the locals were really cool and friendly.

Super resort and staff with so much to do!

The rooms were big and clean, food was AMAZING!!! with so much selection, grounds and pool immaculate, staff were all friendly and fun, shows were great...the only downfall was the sand flies (fleas) and ants (dont go in the grass). They were horrible and attacked us day and night. We talked to some locals who said it was the time of year. We really couldnt even enjoy the beach though because they were even worse there. Oh and our 3 different bug sprays didnt help. Home 3 days now and the bites  [... read more]are still itchy. We still had an amazing stay though and this was by far our favourite all inclusive to date because of the staff and all of the variety the resort offers.

Great resort

The Riu hotel was great. The entertainment team is outstanding and envolve all guests. The food at the Buffett was great with a high variety and always changing. Rooms and grounds were well maintained.

Not worth the cost!

The hotel is run down. We were not able to get into ANY of the a la carte restaurants all week. Line ups 1/2 hr before they open, and after that line goes in, they tell you the restaurant is full, and they have no idea when you might be able to get in. Buffets were good, but one closes after breakfast at 10:30 and the other doesnt open until Noon. At dinner time, one closes at 5 pm and the other doesnt open til 6:30 pm. There should be no time when there is not a restaurant open. The sports bar  [... read more]serves only wrapped food to be warmed yourself in a microwave. that is a joke, not a restaurant. Some other deficiencies with our room included: TV did not work all week. NO SIGNAL. We reported this twice, no repair. Very limited amenities in our room. Only a combination shampoo/bodywash and NO HAIR CONDITIONER.NO IN ROOM COFFEEMAKER. We enjoy having a morning coffee on our balcony before heading out for the day. We were in building #4, at the opposite end of the resort from all the restaurants. A very long walk every morning to get our coffee. BROKEN and LOOSE FLOOR TILES in our room.CRACK IN THE ROOM'S DOOR wide enough to let in light. NOT SECURE! This hotel is not a 5 star, not a 4 star either. We will not be returning to this resort, POOR VALUE. RESORT SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN FOR RENOS INSTEAD OF MILKING GUESTS UNTIL THEY GET AROUND TO IT.

Great resort

Excellent food. The staff and the locals are super friendly. Lots of activities to keep you busy. Great beaches and pools. Really cool excursions to experience. 24/7 bar!! Alot of local shops along the beach with cool souvenirs to buy!!

Riu Negril

This hotel is a great family hotel. The animation team is the best I’ve experienced out of any country. They go out of their way to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy your trip. Everything in the property is close together with very few stairs, so it is great for people in wheel chairs or those who are mobility challenged.

I came, I saw

The resort is small and provides easy access to all amenities such as the beach and restaurants. Unfortunately, the beach was overrun with sandflies, but still didn't prevent us from laying out all day.The nightly entertainment was a little lacklustre and left something to be desired, like fun. Showtime was over most nights by 10pm. The resort was more inclined to families and older couples, which didn't suit our age group. The staff is courteous and helpful. Amazing Resort

The resort was great. From start to finish. A thanks goes out to Jairus Maus. Highly recommend Jairus and tripcentral. They always look after us. Thanks again. And we'll be in touch for our next trip.

Great Resort

Very clean grounds & Friendly staff which made you feel welcome. Great nightly entertainment, Variety of foods were always available. with many choices. Unfortunately the beach was not that inviting. Been to better beaches In Jamaica.

Amazing resort, wonderful staff!

The grounds were kept immaculate! Everyone was very friendly & helpful. We went with my 4 & almost 2 year old, there was a lot of walking, but beautiful sights to see & a gorgeous beach! All the staff were wonderful & kind. They knew my kids’ names & were always greeting them! The food was delicious, we loved the jerk chicken hut on the beach! Excellent trip, we’ll definitely be back!

Not the best but great

Food was good but not happy with it,too much fry food.drinks amazing, wine and beer .Staff great in dining room.Housekeeping great.Ground keeping well kept also beach and bar kept clean,also security very great,overall I would give Riu Negril a A.

Honest review

We had an amazing stay at the Riu Negril. Our part of 6 included myself and my best friend (27), my daughters (8 and 2) and my mother (54) and her friend (60) so it’s safe to say we had all the age groups covered, and we all had a blast! They were Very warm and friendly and VERY ACCOMIDATING. All and all it was a good trip very relaxing. The fact that there were multiple pops was good. The swim up pool was where the party was, amazing time there.

Resort is clean. Great service Staff was quick to respond to any issue that was brought to their attention . Staff was very friendly Both buffet and a la cartel offered great food and good variety

Excellent!

We booked a garden view room and received an amazing water view. The way the hotel is built I would think almost every room would get a view of the water. The room was spotless housekeeping did a fantastic job. The buffet was huge and the food was good. We went to 2 specialty restaurants also good. We came home with bigger bellies than we went with ;). Non stop entertainment at the main pool, on the beach and in the evenings always something to do. When the sun comes up you can see starfish crabs and stingray what a great way to start your day. There are vendors on the beach right next door its so much fun to barter with the locals. Scuba Caribe is right on the beach we booked a sunset cruise with them , went to the cliffs in Negril (Ricks Cafe) and Seven Mile Beach (Margaritaville) very enjoyable afternoon. Heather Felice at Trip Central made all the arrangements simple and stress free. Thank you Trip Central we will be back :)

Amazing two week stay

We have just arrived home from a two week stay and we were thrilled with this resort. We knew as soon as we entered the property that this was going to be a great place. We were in a bit of a line for check in but were moved through very quickly. We were in building four which is the farthest from the lobby. We were a bit worried about this at first but in the end this was perfect for us. It was very quiet at that end of the resort and the beach as well. We often felt like we had our own private [... read more] beach. I was a bit disappointed that there is no bathtub and only a stand up shower but it was a minor issue. The food was great. The only issue we had was anytime we didn’t arrive within the first hour of the buffet. Somethings would not be very fresh after the rush was over and we would have trouble finding warm food but usually was not trouble to get there while things were being filled frequently. Entertainment was great. Staff was amazing. Spa was incredible. We will certainly be back to this resort!

Execellent Resort

The resort overall was excellent . The staff were all very very friendly . The room was great ,clean and comfortable . The beaches were very good .The swimming area a little limited .due to a past corral reef and sea grass ..The grounds were clean and pretty but somewhat limited in size The food was excellent quality On the down side there were not enough public restrooms on the grounds (3 for the whole resort|) The second seating dinner service was not acceptable . Riu Negril

They need to do a little upkeep on some things. Our phone didn't work all week and some of the balconies didn't have towel racks fixed to hang towels. Also always dirty dishes on top of the garbage cans that should have been picked up more often.The people that worked at the resort were wonderful. Very friendly and always asked if you needed help with anything.

Another fabulous vacation

I really enjoy this resort. It has all of the amenities. The beach is not the greatest to swim in due to the seaweed but there is always the pool. It would also be nice to have coffee machines in the rooms as it is a long walk in the morning to get one. (Who am I kidding, I need the exercise!)

Amazing Resort

My family and I returned from our vacation at the Riu Negril on November 17, 2017, having spent 1 week there. Our family consisted of 4 adults, two young children ( 4 & 6) and an infant (13 months). Our flight was to arrive in Montego Bay at 2:35 pm, but the afternoon prior to departure Sunwing revised the departure time to 4:00pm. We then arrived in Montego Bay after 8:00pm so we did not arrive at the resort at 9:45pm. The next morning we were able to experience the resort and found it to be [... read more] lovely. The beach was beautiful, clean, sandy, and wonderful to swim and snorkel in. The hotel staff cleaned the beach every morning and there were ample lounge chairs for everyone. The water-sports included paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking, paddle boats, to name a few. The food was excellent. This included the buffet restaurants and the A la carts. The wait times were not long for the A la carts. A few of the A la carts were occasionally closed throughout the week due to wedding receptions being held in them. All the bars had quick friendly service . The Jerk chicken hut at the beach was an excellent spot for lunch. Our rooms were spacious, clean and we had prompt maid service every day.Wi-fi was available 24/7 in the entire resort including our rooms and at the beach. We stayed in Bldg 3 and it had a lovely pool adjacent to it and it was nicely away from the hub of the entertainment. All the staff were very helpful and went out of their way to see that all our needs were met. Is this a 5 Star resort? I definitely think so.

Wonderful Rio

I had an absolutely wonderful time at the Rio Nigril the second week of November - the staff were all so pleasant throughout. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone considering an all inclusive with lots of variety of activities and food to enjoy.
