You can't beat the view!!

We stayed for a week with family (May 13th) and had a lovely time. The resort grounds and view are breathtaking. This is our 2nd time staying at the Riu Palace in Cabo - last time was 10 years ago. The rooms/bathrooms have been renovated and are really nice with firm but comfortable beds and a beautiful bathroom. Only complaint is that the bed only came with a bit of a sheet. Fridge was always fully stocked as well as towels, facecloths, etc. This is not a resort for people with mobility issues. Lots of walking and lots of stairs. Takes several sets of stairs up and down again just to get from one pool to the other to get a towel. Service at all bars and restaurants was great. Always super friendly and helpful. However, any complicated drinks (including a margarita) were not always done well or the same way. They use some sort of super sweet lime syrup for the margaritas so when we could get a bartender alone and not busy we would ask for them to make it with fresh limes instead. Not sure why they just don't have big jugs of lime juice instead of what tasted to be pre-made. The resort has a huge buffet for all three meals. Probably the best buffet choices of all the resorts we've stayed at. Food was pretty good. We tried all of the a la carte restaurants. Kristal was our favourite as was the Japanese. The rest not so great and because there are only a few meal choices on any of the menus it was hard to go back to the same place more than once. Also note that by no fault of the hotel, there's no swimming on the beach in front of the resort. Its too rough. However, you can walk for a few minutes down the beach to a spot thats a bit calmer. You can also walk into town on the beach.

Such an Awesome Time!!

We were extremely impressed with the Riu Palace. We travel to a lot of All Inclusive resorts and this one is by far the best. The grounds were immaculate, the resort is very clean and well taken care of down to the very last detail, such as how the dining chairs were positioned at the main buffet restaurant. We decided to eat the rest of our dinners at the buffet because it was so good. You have to sit in Rodimiro's section, he's the best waiter! The pools were large and clean, you could always find a place to sit, not sure if it was the time of year we went but the resort never seemed over crowded and there was pretty much never a line up for anything. The servers around the pool were amazing also, also asking if you need another drink of something. The infinity pools were awesome, you could look right out onto the ocean. While we were there the waves were intense, I'd say close to 15 ft. It was amazing to see. The Beach is beautiful. We had a red flag the entire time but that was ok with us, because watching the waves come in was mesmerizing. If you walked down the beach a little toward Cabo San Lucas you would swim. The water temperature was nice. Our room was super clean, we had one of the rooms with the pool and I highly recommend it. It was nice to just chill at our room and not have to go to the main pools to cool off. The only thing that I didn't really like was that everything shuts down at midnight, or close to it. It didn't bother us every night because some nights you are exhausted anyway, but other nights you want to stay up and enjoy yourself. Both the Santa Fe and the Palace shut everything down around that time. There are A LOT of stairs, which we didn't mind but if you are older or weren't into doing stairs then this might not be the resort for you, check out the Santa Fe, it was more flat. I enjoyed the multi levels however, because the view from the lobby was outstanding. I would highly recommend this resort and we will be back, which says a lot since we don't do repeat visits to resorts.

Great place

Riu Palace in Cabos was a great place spotless rooms grounds and restaurants. the rec staff pool side are all great a special shout out to Edgar Orteiz he is rec manager material.View from the coffee shop terrace is worth the trip. Sunwings flights were wellrun and pleasant. Food in the alacart was delicious. Will never go to any other resort EVER!

Been to Jamaica, DR, Cuba and this resort, city, food, hospitality, cleanliness, people, safety, fun, parties were out of this world! I will never go to another resort EVER again because I had the time of my life in Los Cabos/Riu Palace is truly a palace! Food is amazing, resort pools were great, only downfall is that u cant swim in the ocean but other than that! 5 stars +!! Highly recommend!

This will be the first all inclusive I plan to go back to!

The hotel was very clean, from the pool to the dining area. My room was always stocked and organized. Riu Palace supports a mixed crowd, from couples to singles and everything in between. Have fun :)

Great Last-Minute Getaway

Great value for the last-minute deal we got! Sunwing package was well organized, contact people easy to find, very smooth check in process. The main floor junior suite we were given was well equipped with liquor, minibar, recently updated bathroom, and comfortable bed. Very relaxing

Awesome resort, excellent service very clean rooms. Food was excellent. Always activities to attend . New cafe bar I loved . I really have nothing negative to say. Will definitely be returning next year!

Riu Palace Cabos Son Lucas, Mexico

The resort was absolutely beautiful. The rooms very generous and clean. The service in restaurants, rooms and the grounds was stellar. We had a fantastic time. Check in and check out was very friendly. When we needed something brought to our room, the reception desk was very helpful and service was quick.

Amazing Resort!

A beautiful and amazing resort! The hotel itself is beautiful and kept immaculate by a staff that is always cleaning. The staff is very friendly. The buffets were amazing and the selections were so abundant it was overwhelming both at breakfast and dinner times. The specialty restaurants were good though you need to be there for 6:30pm or you will need to wait hour+ for next availability. Nice resort until weddings take over!

The hotel itself is beautiful, staff is good, except for guy in lobby bar first day we arrived. We had to wait for our room to be ready, a couple hours so we sat at the lobby bar as there is a beautiful view there. We saw other guest drinking beer from a glass bottle so when I went to the bar to ask for a couple he was totally unimpressed that he had to go the back to get some more for the cooler. There was a couple weddings while wewere there, the first one was fine but the second was a nightmare. The day they arrived totally took over one of the pools , a bunch of us actually moved to another pool as it was obnoxious. The night of the wedding they had the reception out by the pool and they went ALL night, music, yelling into the microphone etc. There was a lot of missed off people in the morning. They need to come up with a solution as it's not fair the the hundreds of other guests trying to sleep. Lots of vendors on the beach, all day every day. Water taxis are difficult to get in and out of, almost got swept out to sea at lovers beach. My husband had to jump in and grab me and then the guy on the beach had his hand out for a tip! Unbelievable. They bring you into a little cove full of rocks and with the current it is dangerous. It is definitely a party town, great for the younger generation.

Great Resort!!!

The hotel and grounds were immaculate!!the staff were constantly cleaning the walkways and floors from early morning to late evening..Food was superb in both the a la carte and buffet.there was such a great variety of food and presentation beautiful.We met 2 excellent servers,Paulina and Alex. Both of them were friendly and attentive beyond belief.We mostly went to the buffet, mainly because of them.Pools,bartenders and wait staff all fantastic..just a great crew!!

Everything and more

We were very impressed with the resort. The beach wasn’t as desirable as others we’ve been at and not being able to swim in the ocean was the only down side. The rooms were very clean as well as the public areas. Someone was always cleaning. The food and the staff were fantastic. No reservations were required for the a la cartes so we went to one every night and were not disappointed. We will definitely recommend this resort!!

Spotless mind very clean They need better animation The beach every morning is ocupat whit the local trying to celling everything never stop and bring horses for rent and after so many our the horses sheet The beach can be better is nice to seeing but no usually.

Fantastic Experience

Hotel was wonderful. It was kept spotlessly clean. The rooms were large and well maintained. The housekeeping staff was friendly, obliging and did a great job. The property is exactly as promoted. Though it was Christmas break and fully occupied, there was abundant staff to look after your every request. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as were the Sunwing ground staff. The flights were on time or early! The food at the Riu Palace was very good and everything was indeed all inclusi [... read more]ve as indicated. The nightly entertainment was great, with a special compliment to the " 3 Tenors ."

Very good resort

The hotel is very good. The service is amazing!!! We had an ocean view room and enjoyed every day sunrise. Every staff member we encountered was kind, friendly and helpful. The food was good. We liked the lounge room that worked 24 hours - good coffee machine, some snacks and if you'd like champagne, beer, vine. The beach is amazing , however, it's not possible to swim in the ocean at all due to strong under current and how fast it drops off.

Riu Renovated

First off, I would like to say that I think the Riu did a great job recovering from the damage caused to both the Palace and Sante Fe by Lidia. The renos done in the rooms are a great improvement, with the removal of the old tubs and replaced with showers. The new theater and stage area is wonderful. The new buffet is nice, but I preferred the old one. This one feels too much like an open cafeteria, and is very noisy when busy. Had great meals in Indian and Japanese restaurants.Krystal was a waste of time the night we went. New lunch buffet was an improvement, but the best lunch is the Italian menu at the Sante Fe restaurant beside the activity pool. Great views as well .. right on the ocean. All in all, drinks were great, and staff was excellente!!! Very relaxing week.

Stunning Resort

We have been to this resort twice now. It is absolutely our favorite. The staff are genuinely happy to help and the resort is immaculately clean. We travelled with our two toddlers, parents my sister and my husband. The food was delicious and plenty of choices. The restaurants were amazing. The entertainment was top notch compared to other resorts we have been to. I honestly can not say anything negative as we truly had a wonderful time.

Fantastic Riu Palace Cabo

Stayed Oct 5-12, 2017. Surprised my husband for his 50th. Our 19 years old son came as well. I was nervous after tropical storm Lidia...But it was all GREAT! The hotel is beautiful. From the welcome drink to our checkout we were all lovin the Palace. Staff are wonderful. Food and drink were plentiful and delicious. We will be back!

Awesome and amazing vacation.

The level of cleanliness in the hotel was of the highest. The people in Los Cabos were very pleasant to interact with and the vendors were not pushy. The staff were very professional and courteous. Our room was amazing and the view of the ocean was spectacular.

Beautiful Resort

Everything at this resort was beautiful. The food was amazing as was the service. It was very clean and the grounds were immaculate. We had an amazing first time all inclusive experience at a resort. Absolutely no complaints about anything and I am very particular - so it must have been great!
