Beautiful resort!

This resort was beautiful. The grounds were kept impeccable,the staff were so courteous and friendly. There was always something to do or lots of places to relax and do nothing. Lots of variety to eat.

Great Resort

Everything was fine, great staff, well kept grounds, beaches nice lots of beach chairs. Food fine, alcoholic beverages below average as are all Caribbean destinations these days in my opinion as they all seem to use powdered sugar based fruit juices instead of real fruit from a blender which was not that long ago. The air conditioning never reached set-point and little things like wobbly ceiling fans, sticky ( hard to slide) patio doors keep this hotel from being great. Good resort

Hotel staff were great. Lobby and public areas really nice. Rooms were ok, could not get adapter to work to charge cell phone or use blow dryer. Also my iPhone 6 did not work so no internet. Hotel said newer phones do not always work. Food was just ok not great.

Great Family Vacation

This is our third (3rd) time in Varadero and first time with Iberostar Varadero we stayed in this hotel from December 10 to 17, 2016 occupying room 1251-1252. We noticed the following; 1. Checking-In is no hassle and the receptionist assist us to an open restaurant to eat as we checked-in around 11:10 PM. 2. Room is clean and the chambermaid did a very good job, outlet for charging my ipad is not working but the guest service immediately delivered portable charger.. 3. Beach is awesome,cl [... read more]ean and crystal clear water, Beach attendants always ready to assist you. 4. Restaurants: Japanese, Mediterranean and Parilla with good menu choices and the quality/presentation is Excellent. Buffet food is also good and the assistance of Yayi, Raimara and Jaima makes our experience more enjoyable.. 5. Swimming pool is clean, service at the pool is good, ground keeping is clean and all plants are healty and colorful. 6. Daily intertainment from Kids to Adults are good 7. I talked with the Guest Service Manager Yadiel and he is very accomodating and open to suggestions 8. I can strongly recommend this Hotel to anybody who wants to enjoy vacation in Varadero. We picked this resort for our 50th. anniversary and no regrets what so ever.

this is our second trip to iberostar varadero and we still thought it was great very clean well kept and the service was very good. the hotel has kept some of its character unlike the newer ikea square box no character hotels.also i noticed that while the staff accepted tips i did not get the feeling that i was hoovered over to get the tip.and no notice of any change in service if i did not tip. its a great hotel and we have stayed at 12 other hotels in cuba. jim&adele

Great Resort!

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing and fun time at Iberostar Varadero! The grounds were beautifully landscaped with lots of deck space and swimming areas. Our family enjoyed time at beach, daily entertainment and activities such as salsa dancing, water polo, volleyball and much more! The nightly entertainment shows were fantastic! Very friendly staff and great service!

Good Hotel

My wife and I have visited 37 countries and this was our 2nd visit to Cuba (Santiago de Cuba previously). This hotel met all our expectations. Pleasant staff, good meals clean rooms and great facilities.

Very Good Resort

Iberostar Varadero is a very good resort. I have decided to stay only in Iberostar group of resorts whenever I go to a destination serviced by this resort. Everything from the rooms, food, bar and the employees was excellent. I give a 5 start review. Raj

Amazing Resort with wonderful staff

We were there week of June 4, the resort is very nice and clean. The staff are all very friendly and always willing to help. The entertainment staff are amazing. Always kept us busy. Great selection of food.

Beautiful resort

The grounds exotic flowers and plants, the food great, beaches beautiful, the service excellent and the people very friendly. My family and I enjoyed every moment we were there. Love it will return again.

Lots of Fun

We visited for the 1st week of May and had great weather and really enjoyed the location. Hotel staff was great with Charlie (Carlos) and Eli by the pool bar and Nurika our maid (probably spelled wrong, sorry about that) being the stand outs. I really liked the location and found the easy access to Varadero to be a real plus. The food was not my favorite but that's mostly because I can be too fussy. We did have 2 lovely dinners at Cafe 60 in Varadero that more than made up for it (amazing restau [... read more]rant, do treat yourself). Also really enjoyed a one day visit to Havana. Must be seen to be appreciated. Would definitely check out a few Fidel videos on YouTube before going vice watching them once we returned home. A great trip all around and a wonderful resort experience as well.

Excellent Resort

This was my fourth time in Cuba and it was a world of difference from other resorts I've stayed at. The hotel itself was very well-maintained, constantly cleaned. The service was friendly from all staff. The food was incredible for Cuba! They were doing construction on the beach during my stay (April 23-30) so that took away from the ambience a bit but nothing that would ruin the trip. Iberostar Varadero, a beautiful resort for all age

The resort itself is well organized. The room was always cleaned. We had the visit of the cleaning lady at least twice a day. In the morning for doing the bed and changing the towels. In the evening, they were again changing the towels even if we didn't ask for it, plus chocolate was added on our bed with a ``Good night`` note. Probably a different way of keeping the food hot would be recommended.

Beautiful Resort

The resort is beautiful and well maintained. We have really liked our Junior Suite.The cleaning services were amazing. All our needs were taking care and the staff was always smiling. The beach is awesome! We`ve enjoyed each restaurant at the resort but the Japanese restaurant with ``Javier`` as the chef cook was a great culinary experience. The food from the Buffet was O.K.. I have really enjoyed this 7 days vacation.

Great Potential

The check-in, lobby area, beach, pools, grounds and generally all staff were wonderful. The buffet food was ok by Cuba standards. The a la carte restaurants were fun with friendly employees. The bar staff and housekeeping were very hospitable. The entertainment was mostly quality shows. I encountered two restaurant employees in the same day, and in uniform, who used the washroom (by the shops) and exited without washing their hands, makes one wonder about hygiene standards. There are problems  [... read more]with the hotel's Food and Beverage Management: no breakfast available before an excursion because the 24/7 buffet not ready with food for guests at 6:20AM or even 6:45AM. We had to leave to make our pick up with only coffee from Lobby Bar (which was excellent by the way). My sister's departure pick up was at 6:00AM and there was no breakfast available. The 24/7 restaurant food was really bad, not fresh, overcooked baked and crisp eggs and tepid meat. Our transfer to the airport was scheduled before the dinner period at 6:00PM and only landed at 3:00AM at destination yet we were also unable to get any food before leaving. I was told by server that I was not permitted to sit at a table inside 24/7 restaurant to dine because they were blocked off for the a la carte an hour and a half in advance of opening (yet staff were seated beside me). I was asked to leave and eat outside on the patio where people sat to smoke. We were earlier advised we could order room service for our 6:00PM departure but when inquiring at reception, they said that service was not deliverable to the lobby since we had checked out at the required time of noon (we only asked for a couple of individual pizzas, nothing fancy). So, you will encounter instances where no food is available at this resort despite being priced and described as all-inclusive. You need to bring some snacks from home. It is not near any other local restaurants. Otherwise, lovely property but they have some fine tuning to do.

Great resort for families

Grounds are very nice, bathrooms are clean, service is excellent. Our rooms were cleaned in the morning and at nite they would come back to refresh. The restaurants a la carte were good. They have a great spa with own pool.

Great Staff

Grounds are very well kept. We were in building 17, very short walk to the beach. The room was very spacious and clean. The Japanese restaurant was the best. The food at the buffet gets tired by the end of the week, but there was a great variety. Lounging by the pool or on the beach you get in seat service from the bar which is great.

Love Cuba!

The Iberostar Varadero is an amazing resort. We would stay there again, hopefully sooner than later. The beach was amazing! The room was nice, but I don't think I would pay the extra for the Junior Suite upgrade again as we were really only in the room to sleep. We found the buffet was better than the restaurants, which was a little disappointing. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Certainly a deserved 5-star rating!

Everything about our holiday exceeded expectations....the friendly and eager to please staff,the amazing facilities and beach,the wonderful food and drinks!Strongly recommend an excursion to Havana to get a taste of Cuban life away from the resort,a guide helps with a wealth of facts and personal experiences!

Excellent Resort

I would recommend the Iberostar Varadero. The service was excellent, the entertainment was great, the pool, the beach were great. The food wasn't that good to begin with but after some feedback on the 3rd day the overall quality of the food did improve.
