Beautiful Resort

This is a very relaxing place to be. The grounds are very well kept. The rooms are amazing . They were updating the paint on the statues and walls of common areas. The cleaning staff for the rooms were very good and the bar fridge was stocked well. The food in the buffets and restaurants were very good. A little disorganized on who ordered what and definitely Dominican Time as nothing was fast when you placed orders, but other than that is was awesome. Only issue we had was the last week we we [... read more]re there the College and University students from the United States arrived. The majority stayed in the Adult only section (Colonial Club) They were very loud all night till approx.4 am, knocking on other guests doors and were fairly disruptive to others who were trying to enjoy a nice relaxing time at the resort.

Majestic Colonial 4 week stay

I ❤️ the Majestic Colonial We have been several times. There are 2 buffets for breakfast, one that opens early at 7, and closes by 10, but don't worry as the beach buffet opens at 930 and stays open until 5. The servers are friendly and quick to seat you and get your drink order. Table cloths in the one buffet and more casual at the beach.Several restaurants for supper choice, two require reservations. You will not walk away hungry, but I sometimes found it lacking satisfactory Always clean, always friendly. The grounds and lobby are beautiful. Colorful flowers and the tiny hummingbirds surround the walkways. The pools may be missing a few 1" tiles, but you see maintenance working, painting, replacing tiles. Some of the servers Joel at swim up, Meceadis and Alexis at lobby and sports bar. Femmy at restaurant. The entertainers work so hard to involve you in activities. Their shows, if you have never been are very entertaining, however after 4 weeks ..... The rooms are large but feel damp. We had a room near swim up bar and that is where water aerobics and games are. I personally found music far too loud. Their Thursday vendors are super annoying as they push and pull to come to look at their items. If they were to back off, more people would look and probably buy. Their casino is small. The sports bar is great for anyone wanting to catch a game and meet fellow sports nuts. The washrooms are cleaned frequently which is a plus. This resort is large and is connected to its sister resorts which you cannot use. The maid Danida was so kind to us, ensuring we had our coffee, towels and tp. Even the guy topping up bar fridge, asking if we needed anything. I heard some people say they weren't getting certain things(pop of choice or extra beer) so I told them to speak up People are nor mind readers. Never been a person to repeat resorts, but when we found this one....... It's totally amazing. There is a small mall outside resort but again you will get bombarded. This resort is a 4 out of 5 More maintenance needs to be done and some food improvements. Overall, it is absolutely beautiful with friendly welcoming people ( Jacob and Fransisco) Decent food, clean accommodation with large room, very comfy mattress. Beach goes from miles. Majestic area is ideal for jumping in ocean other areas are rougher.

Wonderful resort!!

The hotel and grounds were very clean & spacious. Enjoyed all the different seating areas in the lobby and lounge areas. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was clean and beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs to sit in the shade or the sun. Spacious pools with many different areas to choose from for lounging. Food was great. Transportation to and from the resort was seemless.

Amazing Resort

Everything was great. We encountered some issues upon check-in. We paid for Colonial Club and we were issued a regular room. We were compensated with Spa time. We were to stay 1 night in regular room. When we went to check in the next day to the proper room they said tomorrow. We put our foot down and 1/2 hr later they magically found us a room in Colonial Club.

Wonderful place to stay!

The staff were friendly, funny and very accommodating. The resort is beautiful and easy to get around. The beach is fantastic and immaculate. Food was great! If anyone has anything bad to say about their stay here, they are wrong.

Gorgeous resort!

The grounds were beautiful and very well kept up, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised that you could get breakfast late at the Beach Restaurant, and a meal, not just fries and burgers, at the late night restaurant. We went to the family resort even though we are childless, and did not regret it. We aren't partiers and the resort was so quiet. The one thing to keep in mind is that the pool on the family resort closes at 6pm, so no late night swims [... read more], but we did not miss it at all. Also, every room has a Jacuzzi tub, so thats a great way to spend the evening too!

Good resort

I would say that the service at bars was very slow due to staffing. We did not like pool on club side. My husband is a swimmer and did not work for him. Beach was not great either. Food was great. Phone didn't work in room. Kept ringing all the time. Had to unplug. We would not go back to this resort mainly because of pool.

Very nice

Clean and very friendly resort. Entertainment was good. Only one swim up bar for the length of pool seemed not so efficient. Would have been nice to have a coffee bar in the lobby. Overall a great experience.

Would go back!

We stayed dec 17th to the 23rd. The staff are excellent and all needs were addressed. Travelling with two adult sons and one adult daughter we had a great family vacation. Alberto our “butler” was very helpful and not intrusive. Helped sort out a game of golf for us nothing left for us to do but show up. Nice beach. Didnt have to rush down at 6 am for chairs or beds. Lotsa room for everyone Would go back Food great. Recommend getting to the buffet early rather than later for more selection. The a la cart Japanese was the best followed by the gourmet restaurant. Mexican was good as well Jason

Enjoyed out stay

This was our third time at the Colonial. We have always stayed in the swim up on the club side which is adults only. First room they gave us was on the third floor. Many people we spoke to the room category they paid for and booked was most often not available until the next day. We were compensated with a 25 minutes massage at the spa. Our butler Wensky was non existant after the second day. I sent him messages on the whatsaap to no avail. Carlos and Flor the beach activity people did a good job of making it fun in the sun for us. Everywhere you looked the staff were smiling and very professional. We had no issues even thinking about covid. We wore masks on the plane but at the resort there was always someone to greet you before meals with hand sanitizer. Because our butler bailed on us we were able to tip other staff more.Even our gardener. We took down almost a full carry on of candies, lip balm and chocolates. The staff loved it. Breakfast we had always at the buffet for omlettes. Bacon was a hit and miss for availability. Not to sure why. The Japanese we went to once. It was entertaining but not like it had been in the past. The soya sauce they give you has a high salt content and can ruin the flavors. Try to avoid that. The restaraunt on the beach was not open for breakfast but had a buffet pretty much the same as the buffet at the main end of the resort for lunch with really good hand made burgers on the grill. The cook on the grill cracked a smile finally when we surprised him with a tip. The watermelon was so sweet and fresh. Kinda funny how that was something I looked forward to every meal. We ate a couple of times at the Rodeo on the beach. There are many new staff that have never worked in this type of atmosphere before so as a tourist your patience is a must. Some people were very rude to the staff and it is totally not called for. Don,t you remember your first job? I had the beef tenderloin and shrimp. It was not a big steak but very tasty and tender. The Rodeo is an open air place and on the other side of the space is the seafood place. We ordered the lobster and were dissapointed due to the fact it is not the same lobster we harvest in Canada. We used room service once and had the chicken tenders and french fries. They were better than I expected. Apparently the Colonial is slated for renos in 2023. Not sure when exacly just something we were told. The waves in the ocean are to be respected. I got knocked off of my feet while standing on the shore and ended up down the beach in front of the next hotel. The flag was red but the undertow was strong. All in all it was a very relaxing vacation. Our room was spacious and the lady who cleaned our room was so sweet. She was an older lady , I wish I had of caught her name. We didn't have our room made up every day.Our fridge was filled with what we used and the guy who took care of that remembered what to leave and what not to leave. For the first time we took a damp rid bag and hung it in the closet where our clothes were. I was surprised how well it worked. The humidity is high naturally and it took that out of our clothes. Felix and Francisco are butlers but they take the meaning of service and helpfulness to a new level,and they weren't even our butlers.They are the best. With the price of vacations going up we would like to return to this resort but it's time to start exploring our own Country.

Fancy as hell

General areas grand, clean, well kept. Rooms also well kept. Booked poolside, was told the number of poolside rooms we booked were not available and they "upgraded" us to 2nd floor close to beach. It is not an upgrade we checked it out. A la cart restaurants have the best food.

Great Resort

The rooms were very nice, lovely beach and big beautiful pool. Food was typical of the Dominican, not the best but okay. Unfortunately we both ended with Covid. Weather was outstanding, definitely clean and well kept. first time we have ever had Butler service, it was a nice perk.

Had a great vacation

Beautiful hotel/lobby/restaurants Room was 4 star, very plain but adequate Wasn't always stocked with fresh towels, had to call down Food exemplary beach was glorious good security but recommend stepping up security for noise by clients returning from bars and casino ENTERTAINMENT/BAND WENT ON TOO LATE AND TOO LOUD, right outside our room Pool amazing Gardens meticulously kept

Amazing Resort

It's have been one week since we get back from Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Resort . The resort is very clean , beautifully laid out and the staff are amazing people , especially our butler Francisco who took care of us from the moment we arrived , to the moment we left . Majestic colonial

Heather Felice suggested this resort and we are so glad she did. We stayed in the upgraded adults only section and it was amazing. Food Was fabulous and resort was the cleanest we have ever been to. Had a butler who arranged anything we needed. Only remotely negative thing is there are some rocks out in the water but Not enough to stop us from visiting again. We are beach people and it was an amazing beach!

Decent time

We enjoyed our time, hotel was showing some age but that didn’t bother us too much. Food was hit and miss. The grounds, pools and beach were nice. Most staff were friendly and helpful. The butler service was nice , we didn’t use it that much. We used go majestic for our hotel transfer and that was smooth, no issues. The Mexican restaurant was a disappointment and don’t recommend that one, the rest were good.

A great time

The resort (while aging) is well kept and maintained. The staff are great and our ‘butler’ was able to handle so many little details for us. Food at the buffet is ‘par for the course’ but both the lobster and steak were incredible. Overall a great place to vacation and an amazing value for the money.

Excellent Resort and Amazing

The resort was absolutely A+. From start to finish we were taken care off. Very clean, superb service, very friendly staff. The restaurants and food was great lots of variety. The Bar services and room services were Alonso wonderful.

Exceeded all expectations

Amazing resort. Spotlessly clean and manicured even shortly after a recent hurricane. The room was spacoius and had everything we needed. The staff were all excellent as were the restaurants. We especially enjoyed the service from our butler Francisco, and Kennedy at the gourmet restaurant. The room was cleaned well every day and we always had frsh towels.

Lovely resort

The resort was esthetically beautiful and we had a lovely time. However, the Colonial Club pool, albeit a lot of fun, is in dire need of repair with many tiles missing and more falling off daily. The food was hit or miss but in general, a good selection and room service was quite good. The service was above my expectations and the staff was always friendly and accommodating. The AC was way too cold until we figured out how to turn it off, an issue which other guests had also mentioned.
