Second time even better

this was our second time at this resort. we loved it the first time and second time was even better. hopefully we will be back again. very clean, staff friendly, and the views are outstanding. great place.

Great time

Resort was very clean and staff works very hard to please. They have three very good restaurants to have dinner as well as the main dinning room. The beach is okay but you get lots of Ocean views everywhere you go.

Amazing getaway !

From the moment you arrive at the top of the hill where the resort is located you are greeted with an amazing view of the downtown area and the beaches! The Hotel is filled with friendly staff and they make you feel like family. The dinner choices are amazing. To get to the beach there is an elevator that takes you down to this beautiful paradise. Its a small beach area but it makes it feel private. I can't wait to go back for a relaxing getaway

Fantastic Resort!

The food was good but I wouldn’t say it was outstanding. The cleanliness of the resort and the outgoing/friendliness of the staff and having lots of activities to do made up for the food. We certainly got our exercise at this resort! Lots of stairs and pathways to walk everywhere! Would recommend asking for a main hotel room if you can’t do stairs... 8/10

Overall not even average

This is a beautiful place with great views...main pool and beach area fantastic.......rooms average for standard...do not waste your time book only sea view rooms....301 -310.....401 - 410....501 - 510......Food was terrible....same thing day after day.....poor quality of food.....a LA carte restaurants disappointing at best...staff tolerant of English if you speak fluent Spanish you got better service...not air conditioned....only in rooms......we were approached to buy time share...they lost i [... read more]nterest in us quickly when we told them we did not have a credit card.....not interested in going back to cayacoa ..... will try a different resort not affiliated with Bahia Prinicipe.......

Spectacular views

Well located, surrounded by hills, clean, large rooms. Very agreable place to relax. Large lounge terrace The pool is clean. Small beach. I recommand ocean front or superior room for a better experience, other rooms might be noisy. Food is ok

Could not have been better

Everything about Bahia Cayacoa is so well thought out and executed it’s a pleasure to stay there. Front desk check in chaos was handled with aplomb, with special thanks to Javier. Room was super clean with a beautiful view and all the trimmings, even a mini bar. Comfy bed with lots of pillows as well as ample towels and a great shower. Tons of fruit and veggies and so many choices it’s hard to pick. The dining room staff is superlative from pizza/pasta guy Gustavo to kenia spraying the sanitizer at the door. Pools are plentiful and very clean, again with superb staff. Wilhelmin the manager is always flitting around and checking everything personally. Great resort

This is a very good quality resort. The resort was clean, food was delicious and the buffet we had access to each day three times per day had a great selection of food so that i was able to select what i wanted. There is one big pull and four small ones. The area around small ones was quieter. There was only one resort (this one) that had access to the beaches and because of this it was much quieter than at larger resorts. Transport from and to airport was easy and well coordinated. I recommend this resort.

Spectacular location!

After many years of staying at resorts all over the Caribbean, this resort has one of the best views ever. Built up against a hill, the view from many rooms is spectacular. The most unusual feature is an elevator to the beach. That is a necessity even for the healthiest of clients, which I was not since I was still recovering from hip surgery and a broken arm. The food and the drinks were excellent. My only criticism is the quality of the house wines, which was poor. Better wines were available at a cost. The specialty restaurants were good, but the best was the French one. The service was uniformly good, with a a few minor exceptions. The rooms were superb. We stayed in the main building because of my handicap. We enjoyed a beautiful view from our room because we had been upgraded. Unfortunately the views fro the rooms facing town were not as good. These rooms were also noisier, since they overlooked the area where the evening programs were presented. That area was exceptional because of its outdoor location, but that made for more noise. Unfortunately, we did not view the other buildings and the rooms there. These rooms are best for those who are not handicapped. The arrival and departure were well arranged (in our case four and a half hour trips to the airport) with only a minor glitch in our departure time, otherwise we would have been able to enjoy a final breakfast. I heartily recommend this resort, in spite of the long bus trip. Other airlines fly out of the airport in Samana, but since we stayed for ten days, that was not possible for us.

Beautiful views

We had a great experience at this resort. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Just wish there was more restaurants or you could book more than 3 times. The best was the location. The views were amazing!

Amazing vacation

We really enjoyed our stay here! Rooms were great, facilities were nice, the pools were perfect and never too busy, and the food was fabulous! We never had any issues. If you are elderly or have a disability you may find it difficult navigating the resort, as there can be a lotttt of stairs in spots, but there are also plenty of elevators (even one straight to the beach), so it's definitely doable, you just need to be strategic. The wait at the main pool bar was a little much at times (even when it wasn't busy), but really, we just did a lap around the pool and returned. The lower pool was always quiet. The upper pool had music and was always relaxing, they didn't start games/entertainment until late afternoon, so it was never an issue. We didn't spend much time at the beach. It's definitely a dug out man-made beach and it's smaller, you can't walk anywhere. It looked fine, but we were quite content with the beautiful cliff views from the pool. We grabbed seats on the right with the beach one day and it was nice and relaxing, but really, we preferred the pool/views. If you're looking for a 'beautiful sandy beach' this isn't the best spot for you, but EVERYTHING ELSE makes up for it, we weren't upset by this at all. The buffet was always delicious, always warm, and I felt like there was enough of a variety throughout the week, we were always very happy. the 3 restaurants were UNBELIEVABLY good, very impressive! There were hardly any children (there's literally nothing for them to do, so it's not a big 'family' resort, which was perfect for us). There weren't any rowdy guests or partying groups. Very relaxing and grateful for our stay here

Beautiful resort

The food was good, rooms were nice, service excellent, beach and pools awesome. Views were amazing. A la carts excellent. The grounds are well kept. Trip to the town a little stressful people wanting to guide you to different shops as they make a commission from what you buy.

Amazing Vacation

Beautiful hotel and beach. Our room had ocean view. Fantastic!!! Very clean hotel, well kept, great people and service. Going back again for sure. The kids that are 5 and 11 and us had the best time that we spend at the beach and the pool. The entertainment at the pool was fun for all of us.Thank you for the wonderful week.

GREAT fun and delicious food

Our experience was very pleasant; the staff were always so friendly and courteous. Our housekeeper was so sweet and always had a beautiful smile on her face. The lobby was always cleaned and our food was delicious. Our favourite part of our trip was the a la carte restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the last night at the buffet. The only problem we had but that was fixed after a couple of days, we had no idea there was no alcohol in the banana mama's and daqueries and any other drink, unless you  [... read more]requested alcohol in the drink. I was wondering why I wasn't starting to feel it after drinking a quite a few drinks. Lol

Beautiful View

The Bahia Principe is a beautiful resort situated on top of a cliff overlooking the city of Samana and the Bay of Samana. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are average but provide extra pillows and a blanket. Maid service is okay. we were left on two occasions without wash clothes and towels, the front desk sent the items immediately. The water was warm with a nice sandy bottom. We didn't spend any time at the pool...way too hot for me with no breeze like at the beach. My husband and I had a couples massage...very nice!, and we did the Safari excursion, not bad. Overall, it was a very nice resort and we enjoyed ourselves, however, I contracted Campylobacter while there and I have been home 5 days and still experiencing terrible cramping.

Amazing vacation!

This hotel was the perfect place to get away. The hotel was clean and staff were all friendly. Big shout out to ABEL at the beach bar, he was wonderful. The resort is smaller than what we have been to previously but were pleasantly surprised because you don't need carts to bring you from one place to another. The food was great, the beach was clean and the water not the typical turquois but was a green but clean and could see to the bottom. We would definitely go back to this resort.

Great views

Super nice resort, great ocean views from the the rooms, restaurants even the pool. Small beach, never that crowded, had lots of shade. If stairs are problem, stay in main building. Went whale watching, saw 4 whales, went to the waterfall, both tours were time well spent.

The resort was great!

The resort was very clean, welcoming, and friendly. The food was very good. The variety of food at every meal was amazing. In our room the drain in shower had an issue. We mentioned it to front desk and they fixed it promptly.

Beautiful Weather

We visited this resort on the recommendation of someone we know. We were not disappointed. Food in the buffet was good, a la cartes were excellent. The resort was clean and the grounds well maintained. The beach was small and sometimes seemed overrun by locals who were very loud. Some of the tourists at the resort did not appreciate their presence. Staff at the front desk were very helpful and accommodating. Excellent resort.

Everything about this resort was very good. The grounds, public areas, room was very well serviced. The dining and A L’Carte restaurants was excellent. This was our 2nd visit to this resort in the last 2 years and we will definitely go back. I have also recommended it to friends who went and they enjoyed it very much too.
