Grand Palladium Jamaica

This is our second visit at the Grand Palladium Jamaica and this time we came with the whole family. The beach was clean, white soft sand. It was raked every morning by 7:00am. The ocean was crystal clear. The sunsets spectacular. The grounds were well maintained and the hidden coves were so beautiful and tropical. Entertainment was great. Her service was excellent. We had ocean view rooms which were spacious and clean . The bathroom fixtures could use some updating but everything worked fine. We hired a driver in the hotel lobby. His name is Darius. He took us to Ricks cafe in Negril, and took us to smokey joes authentic street style jerk chicken. Great guy!! Their coffee is amazing - Blue Mountain coffee. You may pay a bit more for Jamaica but well worth it.

Amazing resort!!

Amazing resort for family and couples! Food is great - 5 different pools to choose from. Friendly staff and plenty of excursions available. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone - would definately come back!!

Beautiful resort!

Well kept hotel rooms and grounds. Lots of things to do (pools,kids water slides, excursions etc.) great gift shops (a bit overpriced) friendly staff, great buffet selection, most amazing Italian a la carte restaurant!

Nice resort, not the vibe we thought Jamaica would be though

The resort itself was nice. It was very large with lots of walking and things were spread out depending on where you wanted to go. Lots of stairs so I wouldn't recommend it to older people, or the easily winded. Shuttles didn't come around often to pick you up. The beaches were very small and not very impressive. The food and drinks were all good. The vibe we thought Jamaica would be, was not. Staff were not overly friendly and some servers bringing drinks didn't even give a simple hello. Tippin [... read more]g was not appreciated whatsoever even when in large quantities so we soon learned not to tip very much. Overall, we would not return to Jamaica because of the overall experience, not the hotel itself. It offered plenty of activities, even though the disco music was terrible, so the night life we were looking for was not overly exciting. The a la carte restaurants were all excellent.

Amazing experience!

This was our first time away south and I don't think I even want to waste my money traveling anywhere else! Everything was perfect! I want to bring my kids there! We will definitely be back! Absolutely beautiful resort, beautiful people, amazing food!

2nd time and even better!

This was our second time at the Grand Palladium, and we were very happy. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful, the food was really good and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms and the resort were really clean. The only issue was that the shallow end of the infinity pool was having work done so they had to drain part of the main pool so it didn't run into the area to be worked on. The pool itself is massive so space wasn't the issue, but with the water level lowered, it didn't rea [... read more]ch the skimmers so any debris just seems to collect in certain areas of the pool and by the end of the week, we ended up going to one of the smaller pools because it was cleaner. The staff were working tirelessly to keep the pool clean but with it being so big, it was difficult. As this was a fluke occurrence, we will definitely return to this resort again.

Clean, Relaxing, Lots of activities

The grounds and the rooms were very clean, floors were mopped daily. The pool area was also very clean. The restaurants rarely opened on time though, the staff took their time with their tasks but keep in mind everyone is on Caribbean Time! Check in was a long wait and there were only two people in front of me! Calling the front desk from the room phone, it rang exactly 23 times and was never answered so I hung up!! Again, Caribbean Time....the food was just okay, nothing to write home about but [... read more] there was plenty of it - the hotdogs were awful but most everything else is fine. Mostly the staff were polite and well organized.

Beautiful Large Property - Third Time Back

This was our third trip to this wonderful hotel with beautiful, spacious rooms and many private locations on there large private property. With so many beach areas, as well as amazing pools for all age groups, this resort makes you feel like you are at a different beach every day. We upgraded to the Lady Hamilton Adults Only, Building 32 and had a beautful 1 bedroom suite with two balconies, one open and one covered. Both balconies had amazing oceanviews. This resort is large but major walkways are covered and golf carts are available. We ate at the buffet most days and did enjoy Bubba's Steakhouse one night. Food at some of the buffet stations could have been hotter. Booked with Tripcentral so compared prices easily and booked one of the few weeks that prices dropped for Jamaica. It is worth the extra price for what you get. Previously stayed at the Jewel Paradise Cove, Bahia Principe and the Montego Bay Holiday Inn.

Beautiful Resort

We loved this resort. It's true that it's very large but found it easy to get around. There are shuttles you can hop on if you don't feel like walking. We stayed in building 17 almost the farthest from the main building which took us about 5 min to walk to. The main pool is huge. There is definitely an issue with the tiles popping off though....they are laying all over the bottom of the shallow parts and can be dangerous if you slip. They could do a better job of keeping it clean but we still  [... read more]enjoyed swimming there. Lots of loungers and palapas in the shade. The food was outstanding. The Buffets were great and the food was hot. For dinners we went to Bubba steakhouse, the Italian, Asian and Indian. We loved then all! We were really impressed with the decor and ambiance of each of them. The only one we had to wait for was the steakhouse. It was about a 45 min wait but didn't mind as we just relaxed at the bar with a drink until outer table was ready. Overall this is a beautiful resort with good service and amazing food. We will go back for sure.

Lovely Resort

The resort was lovely and very clean. The food was very good. The only problems we had were two nights when we went for showers there was no hot water. We asked for our room to be cleaned in the AM as we like to go back in the afternoon but that only occurred once.

what an amazing resort, people were so friendly, rooms were beautiful, and fantastic food.it was a beautiful place for my daughter get get married. we would go back in a heart beat.weather was amazing, a little rain that lasted about half hour on two separate days

Perfect destination wedding vacation!

We stayed at the GP Jamaica with 23 friends for our wedding. Although check in was disorganized (it was 11pm and the staff were stressed and not overly friendly), we all enjoyed our stay here. It is a large resort but easy to walk and there are shuttles available to take you wherever you want to go. The food was fantastic! Buffets always had a large variety of items, tried the mexican, jamaican, indian, and steak house and all were really good! All drinks we tried were great. Our group stayed in buildings 12 and 13 which are close to the main areas and across from the quiet pool....which was the perfect spot! The lady hamilton rooms are updated and nice. We stayed in a suite on the LH side in building 26. The room was amazing...ocean front and close proximity to the main building. It was very noisy as we were close to the main pool, and beach where many wedding receptions are held....but everything shuts down at a reasonable time. Since the resort is so large it can be pretty busy at the main pool and the a la cartes. We didn't have any problems finding chairs on the beaches. The wedding department was fantastic! Our wedding coordinator was Meloney and she was amazing. The wedding day was perfect and we didn't have to stress or worry about anything! Our wedding day was a dream! This was our second time in Jamaica and were very pleased with our experience and wedding at the Grand Palladium!

Loved it!

Great resort, with nice pools, several beaches and lots to do. Watch out for sea urchins in the water at the far beach! I loved the food! Besides the Jamaican food, the Steakhouse and Indian restaurant were my favourites.

Great Resort

Hotel was excellent, very clean and friendly. Our maid went over and above in her service. Our problem was with Air Transat and we were not pleased with how we were treated at the boarding desk. Four people were booked for two seats. Two people booked twenty four hours before the flight online for our seats that we booked on April 1st. We were not treated very nice at the desk as we were told those two that booked the day before had priority over us. We were so upset that we asked to have our lu [... read more]ggage removed from the plane before it left for Jamaica. We were cancelling our trip because of how we were treated. Finally someone came and told us we would have our seats and the others would be moved and they got Option Plus for free as they gave up their seats for us. We will not fly Air Transat again and will be telling everyone we know not to book through Trip Central or Air Transat. NOT HAPPY

One of the top resorts

Recently undergone renovations.We were there five years ago and what a difference ,All for the better.Fantastic staff.Try as I may I can not think of anything that we didn't like.Actually there is one thing.The way you are hounded by staff trying to get you to take an excursion,go to the Spa or take a two hour tour of the facility for a few token gifts.

OMG!

Grand Palladium's are the best! We've done the one in Mexico and now Jamaica. Both are gorgeous, well maintained and very clean resorts. The staff is friendly, helpful and fun. My favorite acivities we're the reggae and zumba classes especially when Talawah was part of the team. Loved her personality, she was always smiling and laughing. She made my day everyday! The only recommendations I would make would be to announce the activities over a loud speaker a few minutes before so that we can participate more often, we are relaxing so much that we don't notice the time go by and sometimes miss out on classes. I also appreciated the music playing all the time in the speakers surrounding the pool area but would recommend playing more cultural music rather than american. We want to be submerged in the country we are visiting not only with it's decor but it's music.

Great resort , very good staff

I thought this was an awesome resort , the staff were very accommodating. Good mix of pools and beaches, restaurants and bars, a nice addition would be a morning coffee station at the Coral pool to service the Lady Hamilton end. Also a place for snacks at the Lady Hamilton end would be a nice addition as well

Great resort don't get a massage in the spa!!!!

Upon arrival we were all upgraded to the lady Hamilton side of the resort, it's got nice spacious rooms, comfortable beds, upgraded washrooms and the housekeeping did a great job making sure our extra needs of cleaning were met!! martin at the pool bar was awesome!!! He made sure, we as there were 14 of us in the party were never without a drink and was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had lots to drink!!! The spa sales team did entice my husband to purchase the couples massgae package, upon arrival in the spa we were greeted with a questionnaire that was required to complete inwhich we did, my husband who is On a blood thinner medication Entered his medication and let the staff know he had a aortic valve replaced 4!years ago, and we were there for what was to be a relaxation massage ???? The day after the massage my husband felt unwell, and his arm was in pain, day 2 was worse! This was brought to the front desks attention, they requested we speak to security and the manager on duty, in which we did at that time the resort Nurse was called, she was not listening to my husband and since we were travelling with 2 REgistered Nurses we were Requiring a tensor wrap to wrap my husbands arm, she refused said he needed to see the hotel doctor for $450 USA dollars, the next am! With the nurses strong accent she wasn't listening to my husbands words, he went to his room feeling frustrated! The next am, we visited the nurse and were instructed again the doctor would be the one to provide the tensor only after the $450, but since we were flying back the next morning to Canada we decided To keep Icing, resting , elevating and arm until we got home to Canada, the am Of our flight I went to the front desk around 545 only to catch the front desk staff sleeping on the job!!!! I took a picture of her, and kindly woke Her to ask about getting a refund of my husbands massage, she had me speak To a manager who offered to upgrade my next visit to the same hotel, disappointed to say the least when I went for coffee and to find 4 more cleaning staff sleeping on the lounge couches in the upper level!!! I enjoyed my am coffee and waited to speak to this manager with the paper to show me what they offered, I was only looking for the refund as my husband had not enjoyed his last 2 days of his holidays due to this massage he was uncomfortable and in a little pain, upon arrival home to Canada my husband has since been diagnosed with Compartment Syndrome, from the Massage, and if left for another 12-16 hours he would be without his left arm!!!! Disappointed to say the least about the questions At the massage, the lanaguage barrier and basically the hotel just didn't care!!!!!!

Fantastic All-Inclusive Resort

The hotel was huge. Friendly staff and front desk personnel. We went to 4 a la carte restaurants (Italian,Asian,Mexican,Chez Bubbas BBq) and the 2 buffet restaurants. Great variety of food. The a la carte restaurants paid particular attention to any food allergies anyone might have had. The beaches were nice and not crowded. We could always find lounges. Because of the great weather combined with a fabulous hotel and staff this has to be one of my and my wife's best hoiliday ever.

To start with the hotel and grounds where just plan breathtaking but what makes all of this even better was the genuine,helpful and beautiful staff the greeted our party through out our visit. Whether it was the greeting at upon arrival to the staff in the restaurants, the gardening personnel or the security officers or just a staff member passing by on the walkway; they all seemed genuinely happy with their environment and always wore a smile and where pleased to acknowledge other persons in th [... read more]eir presence. I have very little to say that was not positive about our visit to this resort or for that matter to Jamacia. this being ourt frist time in Jamacia we where very pleased with pretty well all aspects of the trip. from the quick handling of our group at the airport ( with all of the paperwork and personnel in order to get us to the resort ) From the informative bus driver, to the reception and introduction at the resort , our air Canada represntative, the helpfull and courtiuos staff throughout our stay.
