Christmas 2017 Stay!

First time to this resort, booked in the Laguana Villas the rooms were absolutely stunning and so big, out door shower lovely. Having this upgrade gave us access to everything at the resort, concierge took care of all our needs and called numerous times during the week making sure things were satisfactory. Food was good, grounds were meticulously groomed, staff very helpful and friendly. Beach was nice except ocean rocky and murky when we were there. All in all enjoyed our stay!

Ok resort

The resort and the rooms very clean and in very good condition. Food fresh, lots of fruits, but seemed the same all the time. Beach Sandy, but the water right where the main beach is smells, and it seems like there is brown water comingnoutnof the sink holes in the ocean close to the beach. Not sure if that was sewer or something else. Space on the beach very compacted. Everyone was on top of each other.

Grand Riviera Princess

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Riviera Princess; for a large resort, it was very cozy and most of the food and the service at the restaurants were very good, and the live entertainment was excellent. The room was nice; we did have to request some essentials a couple of times but they always followed up quickly. We have never been to an all inclusive type of resort, but I would definitely be back for another visit to this one after I have seen pictures of some of the other ones in Mexi [... read more]co. The only thing that I was hoping for was an outdoor Jacuzzi tub, but did not see one.

Breathtaking vacation!

The environment is definitely an escape of beauty and bliss, the room was neat and clean and the staff for the most part were very nice and helpful. Overall amazing experience and would go again in a heartbeat.

Great resort

This is my third year to this resort, it is very clean, the workers are always out cleaning the areas an grounds. The staff are very friendly, the food is great an there is plenty of it. The shows are very entertaining an love the market on Thursday evening has lots to offer at great prices. Has food on the beach as well as a BBQ one by the pools. Have [... read more] to be very careful on the ceramic flooring when wet , wear the right footwear. Take a cab to Walmart as they have great prices. Had a great time an will be back for the forth time.

FANTASTIC!!!!

This was our 3rd trip here in a row and we are considering a 4th. Amazing food. Grounds are beautiful and rooms are spacious. The biggest draw for us is the people. The staff treats you like family. Yes the rooms are aging but they are clean spacious. It is a large resort but the shuttles are constant. The nightly shows are great. There is a market on Thursday nights with local vendors which is a lot of fun. Shops on site are expensive but a bus or taxi into Playa is easily arranged an inexpen [... read more]sive. Beautiful Resort!!

This was my first trip ever and I'm so pleased with the beautiful resort and the service we received. Such friendly people and beautiful pools. An abundance of food and drinks. I look forward to one day going back!

Great resort

Hotel was great clean rooms were big pools were well kept staff was friendly and lots of activity for kids and the shows at night were great kind all downfall was the food left alot to be desired but the ice cream parlour was great and my kids loved it

Great for family

Where to begin... This is a family resort, so if you're looking for a party resort, hmm maybe you should keep looking. It's a big resort. Get ready to walk. Alot. Beach and pools are quite far from all buildings, except the private villas. Main lobby is the central point of the hotel. All A La Carte restaurants, sports bar, disco, shops, spa, gym and entertainment/shows are located in the main building. Which is good if you're staying in the closer rooms, bad if you're staying in the far buildin [... read more]gs since its abit of a far walk. Look out for the wildlife. Kodis (raccoon/monkey lookin animals) roam trough out the resort. Even by the pools, trying to steal Ur food or belongings and going through the garbage bins. At night, if someone leaves room service plates outside their rooms, expect a mess in the morning. Rooms are clean enough. Only complaint was the doors don't have the small chain to lock the doors. And the peep holes are really high on the door. Cleaner cleans Ur rooms as requested. Clean Towels are always on hand. Doesn't hurt to tip for that extra detail to have Ur room smell nicer. Went for a wedding, however it was not held at the resort. What we did see, was a wedding dinner being held in the buffet, along with strangers looking at the wedding group like "why don't you have your own private area?", good luck if you're planning a wedding there. Idk whos idea that was but I wouldn't wanna share my wedding with 100 strangers not invited. Anyhow, overall, stay was good. Food was alright. At least the sports bar is open 24/7 and make a good panini. The a la Carte restaurant Miso Teppanyaki is phenomenal. What a show and great food. We travelled with someone allergic to nuts, Concierge wrote up a letter to show the chefs requesting separate cooking tools be used if menu had any traces of nuts. That I found excellent thinking and greatly appreciated the Concierge for that. Playa is a $18USD taxi ride to 5th Ave. If you walk a block up, grab a taxi back, haggle em down to $10USD. One major suggestion when going to 5th Ave to shop, TURN YOUR BRACELETS INSIDE OUT!! vendors are ruthless and very aggressive. They will say stuff like "hey amigo, remember me your pool bar bartender from the">insert resort name

It’s a good resort beautiful place and people love the shows 24/r sports bar and it’s always clean rooms are very clean and modern. Restaurants and food it’s always fresh and lots of choices meat and fish.... and salads

"A". Plus Resort

Staff fantastic, friendly and attentive. Grounds beautiful. Food spectacular Pools great. Restaurants and buffets were exceptional! Selection amazing. Bar service....second to none. Fast and friendly. Deluxe Jr. Suite very nice. Except for the jacuzzi, Junior Suite would be fine. Swim out Suite looked nice but a lot of other guests assumed these pools were for anyone. Anyone booking one of these should know anyone can be right outside their patio. Beach very nice...lots of lounge chair [... read more]s. Ocean....getting in and out requires one to wear protective footware because of the rocks and stones. Exchanging currency no problem. Be wary of certain workers in lobby trying to entice guests with a free breakfast. They should be more upfront about trying to get you to listen to a presentation. People arriving are tired and these workers try to get to you right away. Check in and check out very guest friendly.

Very Nice!

The resort was huge! That is a positive and a negative. Lots to do, lots to see and lots to eat. A lot of walking, but our kids - aged 11,8,6 - were up to the challenge. We would go back. We had a great time. The rooms were clean and the staff was nice most of the time.

Gorgeous hotel

Gorgeous grounds, excellent a la carte restaurant. Very attentive staff. Didn't like being hounded about " time shares". Pool has seen better days, looking a little old with tiles missing. Beach was a little rocky and sea weedy. TV was fixed in our room 3 times, but still didn'the work right. But overall a very nice hotel. Locatio was great.The pros out weighed the cons.

Amazing!!!!

The hotel was amazing, my room was 100% amazing. I can't say enough about this place and everyone was helpful, I traveled alone while waiting for my daughter to arrive on another flight, so I was nervous not sure where to go the gentleman at the front walked with me to where I was to check in as it was in the family side..I so appreciated it!!! The beach, pool and food was excellent and I do hope to return again. Thanks so much!!

Beautiful Resort

I went with my fiancé and daughter (she's 9 months old) and my mom booked last minute. My mom got a better room then is, she was on the family side which made no sense because she was alone and we had an infant so that was kind of frustrating, however the resort itself is absolutely stunning. Very modern and clean. Always people cleaning the pool and grounds. The food was a hit or miss. At the la carts the food was fantastic other wise the buffet was pretty basic. Staff very friendly but a lot  [... read more]of them did not understand English (mostly the cleaners,we got lost a few times and asked for directions). Overall I would give this resort 3.5 stars.

Nice Family Vacation

The Grand Riviera Princess was grand. It is a very well designed hotel. It had many sitting areas to enjoy a relaxing drink, talk with friends or just enjoy the surroundings. The property is well maintained. The grounds are lush and well kept. The service was good. The food was good, not excellent. Always something to eat at the buffet and the restaurants were enjoyable. The beach is nice, however, snorkeling is nil at this beach. There should be more work at making sure the seaweed is r [... read more]emoved as it does give off a foul odor at times. It should not just be raked and buried. It should be completely removed from the property. Overall, this was a nice resort for a family vacation.

AMAZING VACATION

We go to Mexico ever year for 7 days and usually go to a different resort every year.It was our first time at this resort and we had booked for 10day and I am glad we did. we booked Platinum and wouldn't change a thing....AMAZING service everywhere especially Platinum lounge and Platinum beach...room was beautiful maid did a great job.grounds were keep very clean and they were BEAUTIFUL..Room service was good and quick...food was good....a lot of choices at the buffet....you can always find so [... read more]mething to eat...the breads and rolls were always fresh....i could go on and on...I will say for sure...WE WILL GO BACK loved the resort and no it is not too big...you get person touch with everything

Very nice resort

It is amazing complex of architecture, start from lobby area,no all alcohol is in all Includive, have to pay for it. Swimming pools are absolutely gorgeous,very good maintain landscaping, loved to walk around,food was good, very friendly people ,who work to make this resort so good. Beautiful resort - Great vacation!

The Grand Riviera Princess was a large resort with beautiful grounds, plenty of pools, restuarants & bars. We really enjoyed the food - the Asian restuarant was our favourite al carte (we tried Mexican, Asian & Italian). The staff were very friendly and the resort never felt crowded. The entertainment at night was really good and when the show was over there was live music in one of the lounges. The rooms were very large and in really good condition compared to other rooms we have seen while [... read more] travelling. Spent a lot of time at the beach. The beach was nice and the water was warm. Not the best beach I have been too but it was good and had an easier time getting a lawn chair/hut in the mornings then we have experienced at other resorst. Would definately recommend this resort.

Had a Great Time

WE liked this resort a lot. The Grounds are kept very well with workers constantly working. The Food was great, we ate A la Carte every night. I wouldn't normally go to a resort this big but we stayed in the Laguna Villas section which had a private pool, bar service and Concierge. The bartender, Pedro and the waitress, Margarita were awesome. They felt like family. We had access tho the Platinum Club section and benefits including a roped off section of the Beach with....you guessed it, private [... read more] bar service. The Beach was great for walking but for swimming was pretty rough. There were lots of rocks in the water and lots of weeds washed up on shore. They did work hard to clear them with a tractor but.... One thing though was when we got checked in we were met by a "Concierge" and he took the time to explain our benefits but also talked us into signing up for a breakfast were we would hear about vacation packages. He took us for a tour of the resort by golf cart. At that point although we had a welcome drink, I just wanted to get out of my jeans and see the beach. Turned out he was wrong about many of our benefits which our concierge, see above, cleared up. Although he seemed to work for/with the hotel, it turns out he works for for Holiday company as well. We canceled our "Breakfast" the next day. We did run into other sales folks and manged to put them off. Other than that it was a fine trip, I might go back but we do like to try different places each trip. Although good value for the money, this was the most we've spent on a trip so far.
