Start off with the grounds we're clean and groomed nicely. Our room had a few things that didn't work but never complained. Pools nice , beach nice. Vendors on beach continuously bug to do excursions. Drinks were very below par. Every drink was made way to strong that u couldn't even drink and the beer isn't very good but did the job the food seem not the greatest compared to the last time we went on 2015 but again we didn't starve. Staff was always pleasant.

Awesome resort
This was our second stay at the royal suites palladium.
Everything was excellent, loved the wet area of the spa which was included with royal suites!!
We had a swim out room which rocked would definitely recommend.
Make sure to ask for premium booze they dont automatically serve the good stuff. Main big

Overall vacation great but a bit disappointed
Overall the resort and vacation was great. We were able to relax, enjoy the sun and the beach. There was a few things that we were surprised. We arrived on Sunday and that same day, we went to our butler and requested to received our "Ã la carte" restaurant. We were told that it was quit full and the nights we wanted to go the hours were not pleasant. It was either 6pm or 9pm and the restaurants we wanted to go were full. We were told that this can be done in advance on the site of the resort, [... read more]so I would recommend highly to reserve your "Ã la carte" restaurant before arriving at the resort.
Rooms in building 50 were very updated and nice. Close to the beach, pool and lobby. Highly recommend.
For the man, you are allowed to wear shorts at the restaurants in the evening with enclosed shoes. No need of long pants!
Service wasn't exceptionally great. It may be because of the culture of the Dominican but I've been to different places in the Caribbean and for a 5 star adult only resort, I didn't felt that I got my money worth for it. There is room for improvement.
Entertainment is not a big here. If you like shows at night, not the place. Our lobby is enclosed and very cold so never went for a drink. The other lobbies at the other Palladium resorts that you can go at anytime were great but for the nightly shows, this is a disappointment. They were too far from our resort and very late (after 10pm).
Best spot on the beach. Enough chairs, towels. No need to wake up early and reserve a chair at the beach. For the pool, the one closest to the beach yes you would need to reserve a spot early but the other pool between the building 50 and lobby (this is the best one), you do not need to reserve a chair.
I would recommend this resort if you are not looking for any big entertainment, just for relaxation and not more.

4-4.5 star
The hotel was nice but paid a lot of money and expected the rooms to be nicer. After first night asked for a room upgrade which they did no problem for $20 per night fee. Much better room and a view. Beds were extremely hard and asked twice if they had a mattress pad .. twice they said yes but never received one. Food at restaurants was very good. I recommend you make dinner reservations first day you are there otherwise you could have a long wait. Some restaurants don't have staff that speak E[... read more]nglish so that was a little challenging. Lots of restaurant choices. Butlers weren't on hand as mentioned in the package. Most staff were very good but some staff clearly did not like their job. Tips are included but naturally you do however pool staff seemed to disappear once they got a tip. Beaches were beautiful and they keep vendors off the beach but you step one foot off and every step you get a vendor trying to get you into their store. The grounds were well kept and always staff working on site. All in all a nice place. We will go back to Punta Cana but would not go there again. We will try another resort. Oh & stay away from the free game at the casino. That will only cost you money. Read up on gambling in PC before you do it.

A week in Paradise at the Royal Suites Turquesa by Palldium
Our vacation got off to a slow start as our Transat flight was delayed for several hours due to a mechanical issue with the plane. We were however pleasantly surprised on our arrival with our Junior Deluxe Suite at the Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium. The room was spacious, clean and elegant. The room was even nicer than the photos showed. The rooms however are showing age, and we experienced several problems with our first room and had to request a different room. On our first night there, I[... read more] got an electric shock from touching the vanity mirror which had a light built into it. The mirror was right beside the shower which had a door that wasn't watertight, so water would puddle on the marble floor with every shower. Had I been standing in water at the time of the shock, I might not be here typing this as it was 120v shock. The thermostat for the AC was also not working so it was either bitterly cold in the room or hot and humid if we shut if down. When we did shut it down, the condensation built up in the ceiling tiles and would later drip down into the room. The locking mechanism in the room safe was also finicky and sometimes the bolts would not slide, and might take 10 or 15 tries to get the safe locked. The DVD player also didn't work and although they promised a supply of DVD movies at the Concierge's desk for our use, there weren't any available until our 3rd day, which was when we discovered the DVD player didn't work anyway. After 3 days of working with the concierge and maintenance, without success, we asked for a new room and they did find us one and actually upgraded us into an even larger room. All of the staff were amazing. The butlers assigned to our Villas only work from 7am until 11pm but we arrived after 2am and our butler (Felix) was still there waiting for us and helped us to our room in Villa 54. The waiters and waitresses were amazing, friendly and although we only did a bit of tipping at this All inclusive resort, none of them held there hand out or lingered in the hope of getting a tip. The staff was plentiful and all were genuinely pleased to assist and make our stay pleasant. Even the bartending service on the beach was prompt and top notch. There are lots of theme restaurants like the Bohio Seafood restaurant, the Rodiziio which is Brazilian, Italian etc but our favorite was the Japanese restaurant. It was a Hitachi restaurant and our Chef "Andy" put on a wonderful show for us. There was daily security on the beach however I did not see any security on the beach after dark. We spent most our day either at the beach or the swim up bar and found the bartenders "Yanet, Cristian and Michael" were amazing. They were so friendly, polite and entertaining and made amazing cocktails. I would definitely go back to this resort. I would rate it overall as a 4 1/2. Although there were a lot of problems with our initial room, it didn't detract from our vacation as all of the staff were very accommodating and determined to make things right. One concern I have and want to send the flag out to future travelers to this Palladium resort is to use caution when purchasing bottles of their Mama Juana liquor. It's a delicious honey and rum drink and we bought a couple of bottles of it to bring home. The bottle cap has a straw hat glued over it which made it a perfect disguise to hide the fact that our bottles had been tampered with. All of our seals had been broken, the contents removed and refilled with water. These bottles can be purchased anywhere in the Dominican. I've seen them at the beach front gift shops and on our off-resort excursion but I purchased my bottle of Mama Juana rum from the gift shop in the "Supermarket" located right in our resort. So, heads up for any missing seal rings on the bottle caps. Otherwise, it was an amazing resort, the weather from Feb 4 to 11th was perfect with only a bit of rain during a couple of nights but sunny each and every day.

Just returned from Royal Suites by Turquesa
The beach is absolutely beautiful! We took a 45 minute walk every every morning. Delores does an amazing job serving the entire Royal beach! Although she works non-stop, on sunny days when the beach was busier she could have clearly used some help. If you have kids the water is a bit rough for them to play and would have to be very closely supervised. Lots of shade and sun available.
Service is good, but language is a huge barrier. They barely speak English so do not go 'off script' as it ma[... read more]y seem that they are rude but they simply do NOT understand.
'Butler service' was included for us. Our butler Carlos was practically non-existent! He almost seemed annoyed when we asked him if he could book our reservations at the Steakhouse-to which he responded that we could not get a reservation because ALL Americans like steak? Not sure what he meant by that?! We later learned from another vacationer that the steakhouse was first-come-first-serve - and we simply walked in.
Food: We really enjoyed the French restaurant for dinner. Fondue was amazing! Brazilian restaurant was just Ok and the steakhouse was very disappointing. The seafood, Mexican, and Spanish restaurants were good.
The buffets were the typical all inclusive (even the Royal buffet). There was a good selection of drinks and they were quite good!
It rained on Valentine's Day, so we decided to spend a few hours at the spa and used the facilities. It's free when staying at the Royal suites. We used the hot tub, steam room, sauna, even did a 'mud bath'. Lots of beds, towels and even its own healthy snack bar. No alcoholic drinks are served there.
The property is spotless. They are always sweeping and mopping.

Disappointing
Pros: location and proximity to airport. Wide variety of a la cartes restaurants.
Cons: constantly bombarded by in house vendors for massages and time shares to resort. Drivers of shuttles on resort go WAY too fast in all areas of resort. In need of renovations.

The grounds were impeccable, the food was great and we had a great time! The only annoying thing that we found, was everytime we went to a restaurant, there were people trying to sell us stuff, spa, etc.

Great Holiday
Beautiful hotel and grounds with the nicest beach - lots of palm trees and palm umbrellas for shade if wanted - the room was beautiful and very well kept by housekeeping - and having the swim up pool was a great treat! Staff were for the most part very friendly and helpful
Food was typical for the Caribbean - service in the restaurants was spotty - you could be waited on by the minute or wait a long time for your table to be cleaned from the previous occupants.
The resort is very spread out b[... read more]ut the mini train was great fun - hard to get in the rain though.

Wonderful Trip!
The grounds were lovely. The pools were great - but it was impossible to get a spot around the main pools. The beach was wonderful and we easily found spots throughout the day.
Swim up pools are awesome - and those areas allowed us to have bar service and sit in the sun on a lounger by the pool. Food was great, especially at the Royal Gourmet.
There are language barriers. It's okay. We are a visiting a different country - but just be prepared if you expect staff to understand everything.
W[... read more]e were on the second floor and above swim up pools and found it to be a wonderful spacious room.

Excellent resort, great service
We travelled to the Royal Suites, Jan 15 - 22, 2017. This is our second time there, first time was about 5 years ago. The grounds and beach were beautiful, and the rooms, lobby areas, and walkways were spotless. There are now 2 exclusive restaurants for the Royal Suites guests, and the food was very good at both, which included lobster, scallops, shrimp etc, and several different cuts of steaks. We also ate at the Japanese tappanyaki restaurant, which was also very good. We went to the nigh[... read more]tly entertainment in the smaller theater and it was very good, then to the lobby bar at the Royal Suites. The entertainment there was more of a piano type bar scene, but very good. The bartenders, Juan and Mabel could make any drink you could think of, and were very attentive and friendly. I don't think I have had that good service at any other resort. If I had any negatives for our trip, it was that you had to get up at 5:15am - 5:30am to put a towel down on the chairs and palapa hut to reserve it, before they were taken. If you went to the pool or beach after 6:00am, all of the chairs were reserved, even though there are signs that you couldn't do this. Some people reserved spots around the pool and beach, and moved back and forth throughout the day, taking up 2 spaces. Over all, we think that this was one of the best trips we have ever had.

Superbe location, beautiful beach
Jennifer was extremely helpful in our decision making. We couldn't decide which resort to stay in and were getting side tracked by all the TripAdvisor reviews (from poor to excellent) So it was nice to talk with an actual person, and get an opinion from a professional. She was a joy to talk with, and was very quick to reply when I had follow up questions.

Beautiful resort
The resort grounds are very well maintained, lobbies are very nice, the main buffet was fabulous, the waiters are very efficient .The food was very good, great variety. Japanese al la carte was by far the best. Very disappointed in The Chanterelle this time around. We booked this trip and were to receive 1500.00 resort credits upon our arrival. The desk staff did not know anything about it. We had to go and speak with the AirTran sit rep at the resort next door. Several trips to front desk, may[... read more] emails from our travel agent and finally on the day BEFORE we came home, we got the credits. Unfortunately we did not have any time to enjoy them. I have to wonder if this was done on purpose so that the resort wouldn't be out any money?????

Super vacation!!!!
This resort did not disappoint!! The resort is generous with its hospitality. The staff is friendly and aim to please. The resort is well-maintained and clean. The food was exceptional at the buffets and specialty/theme dining that we attended. The beach was spectacular and offered sun or shade and plenty of space. The resort is adults only, the atmosphere is quite quiet....very pleasant.

Very good experience some exceptions
The hotel is very lovely, 5 stars to the grounds keepers and the house keepers, 5 stars to staff in French and Gourmet dinning rooms especially dinner. Bar staff at swim up pools 5 star to 6 star. Small points to consider: visited concierge 3 times in the premium deluxe royal suites. There was no other guests in each case scenario. Staff either made a call out when we sat down or started typing on phone or computer. We asked about reservations and they ignored us or just offered a hostile s[... read more]tare. On our the third attempt we requested what was on the menu. A hostile response was "what do you think... meat". We noticed this same type of treatment at the royal suites pool bar near the beach to another guest and were treated to hostility and poor service here only. The other bars were excellent and the service was 5 star. We choose to walk to the other beach bar on the regular side. Excellent service. We have vacationed at the Jamaica palladium...all 5 star to 6star treatment. We have vacationed twice at the Puerto Vallarta resort and also found 5 star treatment. We tip generously on all occasions. We are professionals that do not overeat or overdrink on vacation.

Wonderful getaway in Punta Cana
We stayed at the Royal Suites Turquoise for a week in April. The resort overall was above average 4+ but not a 5.
Pros: Our room which was standard was very nice; double sink, separate shower, comfortable bed. The nightly entertainment was really good. Each lobby had a live band, it was never boring. The main pool was very quiet which was great for relaxing, the quality of the food was great. I liked that both restaurants offered a small buffet and a la carte without having to make reservations[... read more].
Cons: Service at the restaurants were poor. Lots of times I never got what I asked for. For example a glass of water for breakfast so that I can take my medicine. I finally started carrying around a bottle of water when I went to breakfast. I also gave up getting our safe fixed.
Getting an umbrella at the pool or the beach was a challenge. After our second day my husband had to rise early in the morning around 7 am to get chairs with an umbrella (there weren't too many left).

Beautiful Resort with very accommodating staff
The grounds are well maintained and the beach area spacious and beautiful. Each room is a suite and very modern and clean. The food was delicious with plenty of variety. The staff were friendly and accommodating. 2016 was our third time back and we can easily see ourselves returning in 2017.
