Memories Paraiso

Food of dining is bad, little choice. Change money is bad- cashier is a lout and a thief. Beach and ocean are good. Service is bad. Sometimes the drinks doesn't have on the beach's bar(beer). Garden is good.

Beautiful Resort

I have nothing but good things to say about this resort except for the fact that there was no air conditioning in the main restaurant the whole week we were there which made the dining experience very uncomfortable. The food was adequate but not great. The grounds were lovely with an amazing variety of plants & beautiful flowers. The gardens & the white sand beach were the best I've ever seen in Cuba. Good resort/Amazing beach

This hotel is very large. Stayed in Paraiso section. Gardens are beautiful and beach is pristine. Only problem was the lack of air-conditioning at buffet restaurant. All the resort workers are very friendly and accommodating.

Terrific Resort

The people are very friendly and helpful.They worked really hard for our satisfaction..Sad tob see them run for sixteen hours a day. Overall Need more selection of foods as my son is vegan and not much selection was available..Fantastic beaches and even though we got rained out we had great fun.

2018 trip to cuba

Extreme tourista to the whole family!!!

To begin, our non-stop 4 pm flight to Santa Clara was changed one week before our departure date, to a 9 am flight with a stop in Holguin, changing our 4 hour flight into a 6.5 hour trek. The check-in took over one hour to get through. The flight left 30 minutes late, and we had no time to grab any breakfast. Once in Holguin, we got off the plane, all slowly were through security, mixed in with travellers commuting to Santa Clara. We got back on the same plane, to discover our seats were double  [... read more]booked. Many seats had been double booked. I have travelled down south for 14 years now, including three prior trips to Cuba, without any major incident. This is the first time that my family and i all get severe gastro intestinal poisoning (both ends) for almost half of our 7-day stay. I see why so many other guests were only eating bread at the buffet. Dukoral offered no help. We were never informed what the source of the outbreak was. Their bottled water tasted horrible, and was hard to come by. The food was bland at best. The waiters, cleaners and reception staff were very nice, helpful, and professional. Don't expect to be able to use the soccer or basketball nets, since they claim not to have any balls? The beach was nice white sand and lovely, shallow water, but there was a permanent strong howling wind that prevented us from enjoying it. The nightly shows that we were well enough to see were great. Save your money and health, go somewhere else!

Bad resort

Definitely not even a 3 star resort, more like a 2 star resort. Bed bugs that bite us up everywhere. Weather was horrible. The phones and coffee machine did not work in rooms. Constantly had to ask front desk to give us water bottles in our room and restock fridge.

Below average resort

There were bed bugs, dirty washrooms, and insects everywhere. The 24 hour snack bar was always busy and it took over an hour to normally get food. Phones and coffee machine in rooms did not work and when we told front desk about it, they did absolutely nothing.

Wished the week would end so I could go home

We had to chang rooms twice because there was no hot water/ no water pressure & a coackroach in room. The food was THE WORST food I’ve ever experienced. I literally dreaded every time we had to eat. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable. I’m not a snob about where I sleep but my back and neck were aching by the end of the week. The beach was gorgeous - so blue! White sand. Beautiful grounds and beach

Despite tge damage caused by the tornado this is a beautiful resort. I could find no real fault with the facilities outside though the room I was given was not what I had booked or paid for. The front desk and management are rude abd highly offensive to visitors. Thankfully this attitude does not carry over to the rest of the staff in the hotel who are wonderful. Do not waste your miney on the Duamond Club since they provide no service to Paraiso.

Awesome beach

I have been to this resort 7 times grand azul paridiso it needs lots of repairs. the gardens are nice gardeners friendly. tried Italian but didn't like it most things they didn't have . the buffet is best at breakfast so dont sleep in. diamond lunch was good at Mediterranean. Ruebin Denny Danny boy great bartenders. Lilly Luis Has many wonderful in diamond club. the resort is full of bosses and keeps changing managers i don't agree with this as things aren't getting fixed. Good Resort

Overall the resort is ok. There are a lot of things that can be improved. The entertainment staff is amazing and make the whole experience so much fun! There are other things however such as the dirty pool, bugs in room and lack of variety in food which make the resort just ok. There were some minor improvements in food from the last time I went a few months ago. The entertainment makes the resort enjoyable!!!!

Memories Hotel

The hotel was ok but we weren't happy with the roches we found in our rooms. The food was not that good. And it was always the same things every night. But we enjoyed the entertainment staff they were always nice and happy and on the go all the time. We want to say hey to Rosbel, Andy, Victor, Anna in the kids club and our bartenders Ray and other. But over all we had a great time and made memories that we took back with us.

Great beach and ocean

We decided this year to try something new and go to Cayo Santa Maria. Also, I lowered my personal level of decent expectations at the level " if the weather, the beach , the ocean are great and if we make it home alive at the end, that was a great vacation". So, if I am judging by these criteria, it was a great vacation. As a surprise for my girlfriend , I bought a " diamond club pack" to ensure a ocean view and a bit of extra comfort. Next to the ocean, beautiful ocean view that I was expecting and that was what I've got. 4170 was the number of our room. Broken light fixture over the vanity ,broken vanity, no flush toilet , difficult to use tub faucet, antique TV set which was asking from time to time to pay for view ?! , dirty walls ( a coat of white primer was the easiest fix), defective balcony door hard to open and close,defective wardrobe doors, almost impossible to open. Mr Frank took note of alll above and that's it. Nobody came to fix the issues , I never asked too. We had a a amazing Ana as a cleaning lady, she took care of the room, she did her best,and we appreciate it. We were there for ocean and the great beach and that was more important , not the room . Now about the food, is amazing how they could waist such large amounts of food without being able to create a decent meal. But we managed to eat and go back home only with minor stomach problem. At the buffet there is a " diamond club zone" , suppose to be only for the people who paid for. It was not, usually Latino people WITHOUT resort bracelets , very very noisy. I asked who they are and the answer came from the bar guy, " people of Venezuela, dear friends of Cuban people" . Anyway , was not my busyness , I was there for good weather, nice beach and ocean. Did I paid extra money for a Diamond club hoax? Yes! Except the ocean view, the rest is just a hoax. The cherry on the cake came in the last day when having my coffe in the morning I discovered in my mouth , kitchen bugs, cockroaches!!! At the bottom of my coffee cup , anatomical parts of cockroaches. Legs, wings,heads etc. It was too much and I had a little talk to the guy who was in charge at the buffet that day. Didn't look like to affect him , all his crew they came to look in too my cup, some were embarrassed,some were just amused. I took it easy, my girlfriend didn't. And that's it. We make it home alive, was a good vacation . I'm going back? No! Will buy again Diamond club ? No! Recommend it? Yes for the beach and ocean , no for the resort.

Expected much better

Here goes (my apologies for the length but ......); Beach / Pools 1) Beautiful beach - pool was fine Service 1) Several of the buffet staff were a little impatient with the patrons. We seemed to be in the way of them doing their job. 2) Room service was non-existent – took several days/requests to have one bottle of water delivered to our room – I was not allowed to pick one up. 3) Shop in lobby - supplied with souvenirs, liquor, beverages & snacks. No sunscreen, after sun products [... read more], bug repellant, after bite products, medication of any sort – would have expected at least pain medication (aspirin) and anti-nausea products. 4) Found over the course of the week that staff driving the shuttle carts drove a little too fast – we were a little concerned for safety of the patrons Food 1) Facilities are fine 2) Food lackluster at best – several in our party of 7 had adverse reactions to the food. One was in bed for the last 4 days of our trip. Upon seeking medical attention on our return – seems she had picked up an intestinal infection. Cause pointed to poor food handling/preparation and lack of fresh water. 2 others were down for 2 days due to food reactions. 3) We’ve been to Cuba twice in the past and never experienced problems with the food. I realize you don’t go to Cuba for the food but it should not make you ill. 4) Trying to get a simple thing like a bottle of water from anyone at the resort was next to impossible Rooms 1) All furnishings in need of replacing 2) Sliding doors (closet & balcony) need replacing or at least maintenance as their use was difficult 3) Ceiling fan blades are warped – safety hazard as the blades hang down to head level for someone over 6 feet 4) Seems bathtub was replaced by dropping a replacement inside the old one – exit hazard due to a 3~4 inch height difference from the bottom of the tub to floor level 5) Shower head mounting bar loose 6) Most phones were in place but did not work Value 1) Expected more from a 4 star resort. Have had better experiences at 3 & 3.5 star resorts in Cayo Coco in the past 2) Sand flea infestation haunted us during our stay and for a week after our return 3) Of 9 trips to the Caribbean in the last 10 years, this is the only time we ever considered leaving early Location 1) Gardens well maintained 2) Various light markers were damaged, broken or taken out completely – I suspect by the shuttle cart drivers 3) In several places I noticed taped electrical connections lying open to the elements

Good resort

some room is not 4stars.i was for first night In room with problems.sunwings representative and hotels receptions,changed this room with more better,that I liked Beach is beautiful. Garden is nice. People is friendly. Food was a good and possibility to choose what people prefer.profesonal dancers and acrobats every evining makes interesting show.l was on interesting excursion.bus was comfortable.excursovod made interesting and perfect job in clean English. Amazing Beach and Friendly Staff

This was our second year in a row to this resort. We knew what to expect, that it is an older resort that needs some updates, but the grounds are beautiful, the rooms had everything we needed and were very clean. There was always hot water and extra towels, and cold drinks in our fridge. This resort, is good value for money. We traveled as a group of 7 (2 adults and 5 young adults ranging from 16 - 22yrs) and we all had a good time and found things to do. The buffets had a good selection to [... read more] choose from and there was always something for everyone to eat. We did bring our own volleyball, football, frisbee and this did help out being in the pool and on the beach. The staff are very friendly and do a lot to make you feel welcome and get you anything that you need. Kind words and appreciation go a long way. Kids did a jet boat excursion and really enjoyed it. We love the beach and spend most of our time there, so we would plan on going back to this resort. The only downside is the almost 2 hr bus ride from the airport to the resort, but the tour guides make it fun and interesting.

Beautiful beach nice resort

First I have to say is that if you are going for a beach this is the place for you! Such a beautiful beach! My girl friend and I spent the week of may 7-14th. We stayed in room 33-75 which was an ocean view room. Room is a little out dated but comfy bed and beautiful view. It's a place to sleep at night. We always left a gift for our maid and a tip. The buffet pasta was usually cold, but some days it was pretty decent. Found enough to eat through out the day. The Italian restaurant was our favourite. The resort is kinda outdated but when you travel from the air port to the resort you can see why. My girlfriend and I never spent any time at the pool as we have our own. The beach was our favourite part! Huge long beach nice soft white sand! Can walk out very far and only be up to your shoulders! Very clear and no rocks or coral. We upgraded to diamond club so there was always someone at the beach to find us a seat and if preferred would be set up under a sun hut. Beach bar was good but always handy to walk around with a couple pasos so you can get better service. Other wise for me 7 days was enough. I read horror stories about the resort dirty rooms and such for people with basic rooms, but like they say you get what you pay for. I found for the extra 50-100$ why not upgrade

Great workers

The hotel was decent. The pool was amazing but keep in mind there is no deep end to this pool. The worst thing about this was probably the workers that take you on the non motorized catamarans constantly made excuses not to. The food was actually pretty good despite what people told me. And the people that work there for the most part are super friendly

Fantastic Beach!!

We had stayed here 3 years ago and read a number of reviews before booking, so no real surprises. Starting to look a little worn down, could use some renovations. Entertainment was good as well, thanks.
