Cheap & Cheerful

The customer service is good. You won't starve. There will be temporary food shortages such as coffee or drinks or bread. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The staff really try to accommodate & give their best. The hotel is run down & not the cleanest. But, the staff & beach make up for it. Diamond Plus package will ensure you get a clean, updated room. This place is worth a visit if you pay max $750 per week. Activities are good, the staff plan well to entertain the guests.

Great resort, beach and personal

Clean rooms, nice food(given Cuban resources), fantastic beach. All personal: cooks, room service, and entertainment tram were very nice. We felt like we are part of a family and they always had a positive vibe. This is our 2nd time and we will be back for sure. Ni

MEMORIES FLAMENCO - CAYO COCO CUBA

This was my 7th trip to this hotel and my last. The only positive was that the room was clean. Other than that there is nothing positive to say. Buffet was hot and steaming with no air conditioning. Extremely poor selection of food. Bars did not provide anything but rum. No Coke or Pepsi or Ginger-Ale or Sprite. Our bar fridge in the room was empty. No pop just 2 small bottles of water and only if you asked for water. Took 4 phone calls and 2 1/2 hours to wait for water and extra pillows [... read more]. I am handicapped and usually can walk with a cane but the grounds were terrible and I ended up spending 4 days in the room. My husband had to get me food at the buffet and bring it to me. I asked for a room as close as possible to the buffet but my request was ignored. I couldn't take a shower because the room had a high tub and I couldn't get in to it. If you are handicapped than I don't recommend this hotel at all. Horrible experience and was hugely disappointed in the deterioration of this once great hotel.

Horrible experience from start to the finish

Sunwing should be ashamed to send customers to this resort. The flights, hotel, food, customer service, drinks ( lack of) contributed to the worst trip we ever experienced! We will be looking for a refund! As well as formally entering a complaint about the deplorable conditions we experienced. I gathered video and pictures of the mould infested buildings, the broken glass in the hallways, blood dried to the floor, ceilings falling in due to water damage, no air conditioning in our room for 3 day [... read more]s ( temp inside the room was 29 deg C), the fight in the lobby with hotel staff and a guest, the flies covering the food and the lack of water to bath in and to drink. I want to add that we expected some difference in the Cuban and Canadian standards but this was completely over the top!

Incredible Vacation!

We visited May 1 to May 8, 2023 with our family and another family. The resort and food were great and the beach was beautiful. The entertainment team was exceptional, having been to many other resorts it was honestly the best we have experienced. We are definitely missing the afternoon poolside zumba and theme parties led by TNT and Hugo, it was a blast every time. We would like to thank all of the staff for an amazing vacation!

NOT so amazing resort

The service and the hotel room are sub par 100!! Never stayed at a hotel in this state. See videos I included. Broken fridge, shower head handle not right and falling over. Dirty walls and ratty furniture. Terrible service. If they are not dispensing alcohol it's as if they do not understand what you are saying. Even after you too them and no matter how much the service does not improve. Chicken and fish do NOT expect anything else! Buffet restaurant had no air conditioning and food was  [... read more]full of flies. The diamond club buffet had air conditioning but the buffet was made up of four dishes and salad and charcuterie. Paid more for diamond club which included a stocked fridge daily.. ha!! Waiter service on beach. Hilarious!! No glasses available so they do not bring you anything. Want to drink bring your own glass, carafe, water bottle they will fill it. You will not find any to buy so sol if you do not bring them. Sad sad stay.

Memories Flemenco Cuba

Flight hours were changed from what we originally signed up for…. This caused us problems on the way there & very much so on the way home. 2 hours standing & sweating in the Cuban airport! Got home at 7am … yes I know it is suppose to be a review of the resort!

Very Dated

The hotel has not been updated in a number of years; the public bathrooms were clean however falling apart. Our room was ok, however one day no towels or water. and our phone in the room never worked so we had to walk to the front desk to obtain. The hotel ran out of everything , and we did not have wine until our last day of holidays. The beaches were beautiful, however will never go back to Cuba, as the food was terrible.

Awful

The resort has the best beach but everything else was awful. The food was beyond disgusting. Cockroaches crawling all over the buffet and bread baskets. They ran out of glasses and plates every day. They didn’t have any bottled water - not even a store to buy some. It was like we were in a concentration camp with unlimited access to the beach. Pretty Decent Stay

Grounds were well kept and not too dirty, snack bar area was filthy from birds. Room was comfortable, air conditioner worked, power was hard to turn on. Food was pretty good, restaurants were very clean and tidy.

Happy Resort

We loved the resort , our room was clean , the ac worked always had bottles of water left in our room and towels. The buffet staff were very pleasant always recognized you, I loved when the chef was singing. The food was good , the selection at times was mostly pork, but we never went hungry.The bars were well stocked, Route 66 bar was fun! Dam it Janet!! The grounds were very well maintained and friendly staff again.Wifi was spotty. Recreation staff awesome!!

Memories Flamenco Cayo Coco

Though the resort looks beautiful and the beach was awesome, our room, 8304 smelt like the swamp which is right behind the building. To makes matter worse, despite the thermacell device we used and Off spray to repell mosquitoes, My husband and I are covered with mosquito bites that I am still dealing with 3 days post vacation. And I have pictures to prove. Not to forget, they were always running out of alcohol at the bar and eggs for breakfast.

Disappointed

This resort was recommended by friends who stayed there last year. Maybe it was good at that time. This time all the service was upon request-clean the room, change towels...we understand going green but the sheets had not so pleasant stains, towels not fresh and always damp, almost wet. There was only one "Please clean the room" tag in the building. Needed to chase the cleaner and let her know what we need and when, or they would show up after 4:30. Food-running out of ice, running out of bread [... read more], cheese, mint for mojito, salt, pepper... The personnel learned the word "sorry" really well although I don't think it was their fault. A la carte: leftovers from the buffet, same dried cake being called tiramisu in Italian restaurant and white cake in Cuban. Forgot to mention-we were diamond club too but same food with less options in that restaurant. Entertainment: you can't go wrong with original records of Michael Jackson, Cats or Chicago, dancers good but live music-what happened to amazing musicians that we used to enjoy before. Personnel was working very hard, as always, but apparently some things were beyond fixing already. Cockroach on the ham platter in the buffet was the last drop...good thing we saw it on the last day

Not What We Expected…

Resort was run-down, a lot of plumbing issues, our patio door didn’t lock - same as many, the safe didn’t work. We only got 2 of 3 a la carts, food in buffet was not labelled. Bottled water was hard to get.

Great stay

Memories flamenco cayo coco .the resort is on the best beach in cayo coco great for hanging out at your beach or a walk to either point. The hotel is in need of some love but over all the rooms were ok the AC worked well and had plenty of hot water. As for food there were plenty of options and you could always find something. The staff were all friendly and had to work with what they had. Overall we had a good visit.

Beach is amazing! Overall a good vacation.

This was our first time to Cuba and to an all inclusive. We talked to friends and read many reviews before leaving for our trip. We were told that 5 star in Cuba is more like 3 star other places. With this in mind here are our thoughts on this resort and location. Beach: Amazing! Water is so clear and the sand is so fine and easy to walk on. The sand never seemed to get too hot even at the hottest time of day. We walked bare foot all the time. There are lots of lounges chairs and shade huts. [... read more] We never had an issue getting chairs and we usually headed down to beach around 11 am. The beach is also very clean. Very little in the way of any garbage. There are garbage cans on the beach and most people are good at using them. There is also 2 beach bars and a grill station if you didn’t want to leave the beach to get a bite to eat. Pool: Lots of loungers and again shade huts. We did have more trouble finding available loungers though as people put their towels on them to save them early in the morning. Pool was clean and well kept. We liked the patterned concrete around the pool as it was non slip and safe for kids. The Grounds: Lovely gardens throughout the property. Palm trees and flowering shrubs. All were well cared for by the friendly gardeners. Food: We found the buffet was ok. There was always lots to eat and a variety of foods. Lots of meat options from fish, pork, chicken and some beef. Not a lot of variety in vegetables. I have read others say they can run out of things but the times we ate there was always enough of what we wanted. The a la carte restaurants were just ok. The Mediterranean one had the best atmosphere. Staff: All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Room: When we arrived it was around 11 pm. They took us and our luggage to our building by golf cart which was very nice as it was dark. However, the room was terrible. There was an awful smell and there were a lot of things missing from the room. The next morning we went to the front desk and asked for a new room. By 5pm that day we had a new room which was 10 times better. We now had a pool view and all the things that were missing from the first room. We were quite happy with our new room and the location was much better. Close to the pool and main building. Things to know: They don’t supply Kleenex or wash clothes in the rooms so bring your own. Also toilet paper seemed to be in short supply as we were only given half a roll a day. The public bathrooms in the lobby are not great. Women’s were missing toilet seats, doors that don’t lock or close properly and my husband said the men’s always smelled. Overall for the price we found this resort to be quite nice. We would likely go back there again if we return to Cuba now that we know what to expect.

Great resort

Overall, we had a great stay at this resort. The beach is absolutely amazing. The water is so blue. You can walk for miles in either direction. The beach section of the resort is also very large so its not difficult to find a chair. We also loved how there was lots of cabanas for shade. We did not spend any time at the pool as we are beach people, but the pool always did look busy with activities. The food was good, there was always lots of options and we never went hungry. The a la carte options were good as well but the line up to book them was crazy busy and by the time we got there there weren't many options left which was unfortunate. We opted for the diamond club which gave us access to the diamond club restaurant which was great for breakfast and lunch. Sadly we were only able to book their once for dinner as it required a reservation and it was full for the week when we tried to book. The resort itself is huge, we were in building number 6 which wasn't too far from the lobby but if you were in building number 10 you would have to walk a bit further. The rooms were pretty dated and the bathroom was a bit run down. But the beds were very comfortable and the AC was working great. Staff was always very friendly and kind. One criticism we did have was the lobby bar was always super busy during the evening and for such a big resort it was quite small. Sometimes you would have to wait over 20 minutes for a drink, and the bar tenders would often serve people in a random order. Overall, I would recommend this resort and would likely rebook again.

Epic time here

Resort was great absolutely not one complaint. And Steve with trip central was awesome and made everything super easy. Food was great to was not expecting that but I think Cuba is trying to change that. Great time and staff were super friendly wasn’t till we got back to Toronto airport till we ran into all the miserable tarts again. Definitely recommend resort

Nice beach

The hotel, like most in Cuba, needs an overhaul. The first 4 days we had hot water and flushing toilets. Then the water completely stopped. It returned, but weak and luke warm, toilet didn't flush. The lobby toilets have no locks, rarely toilet paper and stinky. The drinks were horrible, no Pina coladas, one day of mojito, which was undrinkable. Food was pretty good, although some meatballs were raw and chicken from the grill also. Valentine's Day buffet was really special with lobster and shrimp unshelled. No salad dressing, or BBQ sauces. Breakfast omelet cooks are entertaining and competent. The bathrooms have moldy ceilings, tiny ants, the maids do their best. But again no fresh smelling cleansers. Catamaran excursion was so much fun, the crew were awesome and entertaining. I also didn't care for the diamond club treatment. I'm not a fan of a two tier system even though they pay extra for it. I recommended the hotel because of proximity to the airport, beach and food. I would rate this hotel as a 3 star, Cuba standard.

This was a typical Cuban 4-star....more like a 3-star everywhere else. Accommodation ok, food plentiful but ok in quality, service ok, pool ok. Beach beautiful,weather gorgeous. Grounds very large so that although it was very busy, it wasn’t in general a problem getting beach chairs etc. Staff willing but inefficient. Dining room lacked in things eg only one coffeemaker worked.
