Was a FABULOUS little resort, in a beautiful bay. Location was great, short walk to town for shopping ect.
Beach was amazing. Great snorkeling at the end of the cove. And really nice hiking trails just off the beach up the mountain.
Grounds were VERY well kept and the STAFF were so friendly and helpful.
LOVED the place. Cant wait to go back next year

Bel Jou Hotel: Amazing resort
Our room with king bed was newly renovated with a big shower. we had a great view from our balcony on the 5th floor facing the ocean. The scenery is amazing with the mountains in the background. The grounds were well kept and lovely. The resort grew some of their own veggies and herbs. There were two pools one up and the one down had a self serve bar that was well stocked with champagne, wine, liquor and beer taps. The food was amazing. A la carte changed their menu every 2 days and you coul[... read more]d book as often as you wanted. The buffet always had a lot of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lulu's Cabana had great lunches, such as pizza, hamburgers, french fries, etc. The roof top bar had snacks after 9:00.
There was entertainment every night with dancing, kararoke and music or there was a roof top bar for quieter gatherings. There was a BBQ around the pool on Thursdays with a steel band and fire eaters.
During the day there were different events to name a few such as Creole cooking, Mixology class, coconut bowling which was hilarious.
There was a shuttle to the beach and the market place in Castries for souvenirs. There were designated beach chairs for the resort and Vigie beach was amazing - you could walk for ever.
And finally the most amazing part of these two weeks was the staff. They never ignored you, always went beyond to help you and all were so friendly. You could tell they really loved their jobs with singing and dancing and always a greeting from everyone.

Harmony Marina Suites: Good place
I had a enjoyable time at Harmony suites ,
the best part for me is the Steve's Scuba diving was right
there I did'nt have to walk far in the morning to catch the boat diving .
It was also very quiet and close to the main tourist street ,
where all the restaurants are ,close to the beach as well .
The room was really nice with a Kitchenette.

Bel Jou Hotel: Exactly as described
If you’re looking for quiet and restful this is the place . The hotel is clean , and well taken care of . The staff is all very nice and so helpful with the exception of a woman at the front desk who seemed annoyed to be bothered . The pools are so clean and refreshing and the lower pool self serve bar is genius . It has everything you need to not have to leave the pool. You absolutely can drink the water it is perfectly safe. Lulus cafe near the lower pool has really good food especially for l[... read more]unch so you don’t have to leave the pool to go to the buffet . Speaking of the food it is actually pretty good , I am basically a vegetarian and found plenty to eat . The views are stunning and the shuttle to the lovely beach is so easy to use and only a 5 minute drive. You can go into Castries but honestly there is nothing to do or see at all . The rooms are clean but smell a little musty . The refrigerator in the room is not stocked with anything not even water . We took the catamaran boat ride into soufriere and saw the pitons and went snorkeling . It was well worth the money as there is not much more to do . The downfalls are there is NO place to get souvenirs or even snacks . If you are like me and just would like to be able to go and grab a pack of gum or snacks or anything there is no place to get that . Bring your snacks with you .. also if you want a good spot at the lower pool you have to get your towels out before the sun comes up and reserve your chair . I honestly thought that was ridiculous. If you’re going to put your towel at the pool you should have to stay at the pool . You can leave it there for hours and not ever show up .. The drive from the airport to the hotel is close to 90 minutes and is hilly and is extremely winding roads. If you get car sick sit at the front of the transport van . The scenery is gorgeous and the weather is lovely . Just keep in mind it’s pretty quiet and not much to do . They do have theme nights which are for the most part are ok. This hotel has a rooftop which has a full time bartender and it has a great view but it is not utilized. It’s the perfect spot for music and dancing instead of the dining area . People want to talk and socialize in the outdoor dining space but it’s way too loud when there is entertainment and people leave . We loved the people and the food and the weather but will try a different island next time that has more to offer

Anse Chastanet: Fantastic!
Absolutely fantastic resort. Staff were amazing and attentive, courteous and friendly always. The food was amazing and the resort property is stunning! Anse Mamin is so quiet and the trails, beach and restaurants are so beautiful! There are a lot of stairs, and the place is significantly more wild than some of the marble-clad places elsewhere in the Caribbean, but this was exactly why we chose Anse Chastanet and were not disappointed at all! We did the birding hike with Mano (Father Nature)[... read more] and highly recommend this for information on both flora and fauna of St Lucia! We also did the Jungle Biking with Tyson and it was awesome - highly recommended! We also hiked up the Tinker Trail to the lookout and then took a dip in the ocean to cool off. Very much worth the effort. After having traveled to several destinations in the Caribbean, we would be hard pressed to consider going anywhere else ever again. Could not recommend more highly!

Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton: Definitely NOT a 4-STAR!
Quiet resort, beds were so comfortable, room facing ocean and spacious, washroom two sinks, made it easy for two people. Food, dinners were always stewed chicken, pork, fish; by time end of week food not pleasing. Beach water was always unpredictable high waves. People getting smashed with heavy waves. Need floaters, however, there were times that waves were strong, not pleasant. Pool side great for little kids. Lobby bar evening after dinner, had one person entertainer, No theatre enter[... read more]tainment. Two hours transfer from airport driving on narrow roads through jungle, felt a little dangerous, however, arrived safely.

Starfish Saint Lucia: Just as expected!
We went with our expectations held in check. There is a lot to recommend this resort. The staff is great - they are friendly and helpful. The front desk people are very helpful, and we had the Nexus tour guides to arrange outings. We had some hiccups with the chamber service (no face cloths, change of bath towels had to be requested multiple times). Also, be aware that pool side chairs are at a premium!! I have no idea why the resort can't invest in another 50 loungers (note to management- these[... read more] can be stacked and used as needed!). We had ro get up at 4AM to place towels on chairs to reserve them.
The grounds are lovely and well kept. The cats are friendly (and join you on one of the chairs in the evening at the breakwater cafe).
Overall, this is a good resort for budget travelers!

Starfish Saint Lucia: Mixed feelings
Negatives: had to ask every day and sometimes several times for clean towels in our room. This is a basic need.
A maid let herself in our room (who wasn’t cleaning it) and took our tip that we left for the maid. We only discovered this because we returned to the room 1/2 after leaving. The correct maid came to our room 3 hrs later and we explained what happened. Not only did she steal from a co worker but technically she stole from a guest as she had no right to enter our room if she was not[... read more] cleaning it.

Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton: Needs some TLC
The resort is small but we were ok with that! The service is slow so make sure you have alot of patience. The sea is lovely and good snorkeling down the beach. It rained everyday we were there which I didn't expect. Trips and any items you want to buy are very expensive. We did do a few excursions which went pretty well.
Towels are hard to get for the pool and chairs at the pool or beach are fought over by 7. There are not near enough of them.
This resort needs alot of work. We were in a room [... read more]that was upgraded however anywhere you look you can see the lack of maintenance. Certainly not a 4 star as others have said. The food was the same thing everyday we were there with about 7 buffet items to pick from.

Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton: Do not be fulled by Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton
Hello, We stayed at Mystique from Jan.20th, 2024. The use of Royalton name in the hotel title is misleading. I expected higher lever of service. The hotel is more like 2 stars. The rooms were very dated as well as the facilities.
There is just one buffet and one lunch snack bar. The Chic restaurant is a paid one.
There was not a single station at the buffet offering fresh pasta, pizza or other meals made to order other than the egg station in the morning.
All the meals were in silver [... read more]pre-heated dishes.
The biggest problem was with beach chairs and there was maybe 20-25 beach umbrellas that had 2 chairs each. By the 7 am each day, all the chairs had towels placed on them and there was no more chairs available. The hotel did not have ANY additional chairs or umbrellas that we could use. People would leave their towels for hours on end and this is not acceptable. If you wanted to have a spot on the beach. you had to wake up around 6:30 am to get your spot.
Over all, the hotel is not worth the money. It is highly overrated.
All the best.

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Great Resort!
This was a lovely resort that was easy to get around and very compact. Restaurants and pools were easy access. There was two things that prevent me from giving it a 5 star review. Firstly, every morning I had a really hard time finding a chair on the beach or at the pool. Even when I went to the pool very early (5:45 a.m.) the chairs were already saved, mostly by the butlers for their guests. More chairs are definitely required. The furniture is old, as is the refrigerators in the rooms. A [... read more]lot of the pool furniture was torn and tattered, and more often than not covered with bird droppings.
The food and the staff were amazing, special thanks to Sharlene who worked hard to get our party of 14 a table in the restaurants, and to Ted in the main restaurant who always looked after us. The staff seemed happy to be there. New Year's party was great!!!!

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Definitely worthwhile with areas in need of improvement
This was our first time to a Sandals resort, and to St. Lucia. Overall, we are glad that we went, and there are some different strong points to this resort:
* The size of the resort is perfect. It’s big enough that there are places to walk around and things to see without it being too far to walk from any one place to another.
*The food was quite good and we had some very enjoyable meals and we liked the combination of restaurants where you don’t need a reservation and a few were you do.
[... read more]*The staff are quite friendly, and for the most part, the service was very good as they always attended to pretty quickly.
*We liked that you could go for a walk down the beach next-door and to pigeon Island conservation area.
* we like the mini lounge areas, some areas with fireplaces, which give it a good ambiance at night.
*we had a basic room and thought it was nice. It had a large TV.
*The beach was amazing: nice, white sand, always calm, very clear. Bring a snorkel as many people said this was some of the best snorkelling they could do off of a beach.
* The Jacuzzis are nice because they are actually heated and quite hot. we found at most resorts They are the same temperature as the pool so this was nice.
For the higher price paid there are some areas that we think are in definite need of improvement:
* The mattress was not comfortable. You could really feel the tilt in the mattress and feel each movement every time the person next to you moves. My husband did not sleep well at all every night and would not want to return for that reason alone.
* They have 2 basic coffee/cappuccino machines on the entire resort that make a very basic, not great at all, espresso or cappuccino. The machines kept breaking down and one morning couldn’t get one at all. We’ve had way better coffee in Cuba, Dominican, anywhere else we’ve been in fact. If you like a nice espresso or cappuccino, you’ll be very disappointed and if not, then it won’t matter to you.
* The lagoon pool is very old and majorly showing its age to the point that we heard people say that they didn’t even think it was supposed to be for swimming. It looks like it’s full of brown algae, when, in fact, it is just the turquoise paint all worn off in most areas now. we did swim in it and it was not nearly as bad as It looked, and it was very large and you had it to yourself because of the fact that most people wouldn’t go in it.
* the Main two pools are nice, but are not heated. It looks like they gave up on the older pools as they didn’t even provide umbrellas near the sun loungers for those pools. There were a couple of days where some of the pools have a lot of debris floating and they had to close the hot tub one day because it was cloudy.
* Compared to other resorts I been to we found that at this resort there is not enough loungers with good shade and people would get up at 6:30 AM to reserve them and so if you try to find one closer to 8 AM there was limited options left and this took away from some of the enjoyment as you couldn’t sleep in on vacation.
* they had a couple of really nice swinging lounger beds, but nobody used them most days because they had no shade over them when this would be a simple fix.
* if you wanted to rent a nice lounger bed with full shade They charge $130 US for one day. There’s shameful when they are already charge a premium for you to go there. Most days we noticed that most of those bad sat empty.
* they really should provide a towel for in your room for anyone arriving later because it was not easy to find a towel to go swimming around 430 or 5 PM when we got there and the person collecting dirty towels gave us a lecture when we asked for one as she had to go find some.
* although, for the most part, we thought the service was pretty good. We found that compared to other resorts at breakfast we sometimes had to wait quite a while to get a table in either restaurant. Our first morning we chose the à la cart breakfast and it took about 45 minutes and they told us that this was the usual weight time. I tried to order orange juice twice that morning and I never came. We ate there on two other mornings and it was quicker, closer to around 25 or 30 minutes. It seems that some days they might be short staffed. Overall at times it seemed like their system for serving was an issue because there would be lots of people around, but they each had individual jobs and things seem to take longer because they would say oh someone else is going to come and get that for you. Likely you’re on vacation and it’s a beautiful spot so you can just sit and relax while you wait to have your order taken or to get a drink or to get your food etc. but relative to an average restaurant it often took quite a long time.
* The lobby bar was only open from 4 PM until late evening. For the size of the resort, we found the two open bars, side-by-side near the pool were not ideal as there was nothing on the left side of the resort, if you were laying there for the day. Ironically, the only time we ever had someone come and ask if we wanted to drink was one day when we were laying near the two open bars.
Being our first sandals resort, we can’t compare it to any other of their properties. For the price point, there are some things which others might find disappointing but overall it was a very strong resort with a lot of potential for being a top resort, because the property itself is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. If you are going, be sure to book a helicopter transfer, because the ride from the resort is long and can cause motion sickness while the helicopter transfer on the way there was a highlight of our trip!
