The resort was amazing. The front desk were very helpful but the room service was not acceptable at all. I complained numerous times with the front desk people but they didn't do anything about it. I called in for a coffee once, 45 minutes later someone showed up with couple of packages of sugar. Then when I asked them I wanted coffee, same person showed up 20 minutes later with pack of coffee. Another time I asked about packs of chips. They told me that they are busy and it will be there in 45 [... read more]minutes. I called back after an hour I was told that there is no order for my room

Great for families
We visited Memories Splash in April 2018. The resort was clean as well as the rooms and the staff were friendly.
Resort is large. There is a trolley to take you to different stops as well as the sister resort which has beach access. Lots of stuff to keep you busy. Water slides/park was our favourite part.
Con would be check in and out are extremely slow. Not enough staff to run the front desk.

Greatest Family Vacation
Everything in this resort was awesome. The hotel was very clean, the people are so friendly, and the food was great.
It was our first all inclusive family vacation in 12 years and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
We booked with tripcentral online and called them with questions and concerns. They were able to answer all of my questions
and made changes that were needed.

Amazing Resort
This is the first time we have been to Memories Splash. We would definitely go again. We were with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. It is an excellent family getaway. We enjoyed just sitting beside and in the pool with the boys. It was a very relaxing vacation. The weather was terrific. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They couldn't do enough for you, very accommodating.
The servers in the Selection restaurant were wonderful. Wilkin and Valentini always made sure that[... read more] our 4 year old grandson had his chocolate milk. It's just a small thing but important to him.

Good resort
Overall I found this hotel to be great for the price. Geared towards families more so if you’re looking for nightlife this isn’t the place. Service was great. Food was ok. Not great. Pools great and rooms alright. Not fancy, damp but clean.

Disappointed
Overall we made the best out of our trip for the kids but we lost more than entire day of dealing with issues. We upgraded to the Diamond club but as it was March break they overbooked so we did not get what we paid for. The first rooms we had were in disgraceful shape. We had to move numerous times and still did not get the upgraded rooms we had paid for. Even the small perks that come with the Diamond Club such as bathrobes, slippers, snacks and in room beach towels were not provided. On more[... read more] than one occasion housekeeping had to be requested for towels etc. Trying to deal with the staff was frustrating and at times they were rude. Although the most of the wait staff and bartenders were very friendly. Despite all the hassle we went through we were only offered a dinner on the beach which was not convenient with 4 children . The water park was fun for the kids and the beach was beautiful. Wish we booked the Royalton instead, far nicer resort with all the same amenities. Punta Cana is great, but will not go back to Memories.

Family Resort
We stayed at Memories Splash the week of March Break. Two families, party of 7 including two 17 year old sons and an 8 year old daughter.
Reception: We arrived around 11pm and found the reception to be a bit unwelcoming. The hotel reception area is dull and small.
Room: Our first impression upon apprival was disappointment. The room was basic and beds were not queen as requested. We purchased a "premium" room package expecting the larger beds. The room was tired in much need of a refresh[... read more]. It contained two double bed, a small coach, chest of drawers, tv and fridge. The AC kept the room comfortable. The next day we were informed all rooms in building 7,8 and 9 house the premium upgrade. These buidings are centrally located around the main pool, and conveniently close to both the buffet and social centre (entertainment area). We were told by the onsite Sunquest rep that these rooms are larger than the deluxe room.
Each day the room was restocked with bottled water, soft drinks and beer.
The room was suffiecient for our needs.
Meals: We ate at the buffet and all the a la catre restaurants. The bufffet is good with a variety of foods to choose from. Staff were a little slow at bringing refreshments to the table. The a la carte restaurants filled quickly requiring us to wait in a queue with a beeper. Food in the a la carte is basically the same as what is offered in the buffet. Nice to receive table service but not really worth the wait and effort.
Looking for your early morning jolt? The buffet is open at 6am and provides paper cups for take away. Beans coffee shop opens at 8:00am.
Pool: The two pools were always busy. One was the entertainment hub and thus noiser.
Beach: The beach is stunning and well maintained. Fun waves and gorgeous sand. The beach is about 1km from the Memories property. The resort provides motorized transportation to the Royalton reception area (sister hotel) but there is an additionnal 300m walk through the Royalton to access the beach front.
Beach lounge chairs for Memories and Royalton are segretated. Guests arrive very early (6:00am) to place towels on chairs at the beach.
There is a bar and a Royalton buffet (12-4pm) close to the beach for Memories guests to access.
The beach was always busy with bathers and those walking the extensive beach front.
Memories did not offer boogie boards or other water sport items.
Property: The property is well kept and clean. There are lots of birds roaming the grounds. That early morning "cat like screech" is no cat. That's a peacock.
I would not recommend this resort to anyone with mobility challenges. There are no elevators in buildings and the stone paths can be slippery.
Water Park: The water park was a hit for the 8 year old girl. It offers a great range of slides that was fun for our entire group. She used the park every day. The water park is beside Memories.
Night Life: Each night Memories puts on entertainment in the social centre. I did not attend most but was lucky to catch the acrobatic circus on Saturday night.
The 17 year old boys spent evenings at the Royalton sports bar/disco. This bar goes all night closing at 6am. And yes, though both wore a minors bracelet, they were both served alcoholic beverages at all bars.
Tourista: My advise, see your doctor before you go to the DR and get medication for diarrhea. Six of the 7 in our party suffered with diarrhea. Though there is a clinic on site, there is no doctor. You are sent in to Bavaro, via taxi at a cost of $30 each way to a hospital. Our hospital bill was $860 US for the consultation, IV, blood work, urinalysis and meds. Thankful we had insurance to claim the visit.
Fire alarm: We were awaken during the night by an alarm likely pulled by someone in the building. Looking out our patio door we could see and smell significant smoke. Guests congregated around the pool looking for direction. Turns out there was a big garbage fire close by. The smoke and odour lingered for hours. Staff did not seem to be phased by the event.
All and all the property met both families expectations and we were pleased with our vacation. There was something for everyone and the 17 year olds could spread out away from their families in a safe environment between both resorts. There is an option to upgrade your stay at Memories. I do not believe the upgrade to "Diamond Club" is worth the expense for the services provided.
In my opinion the property is a 3.5 star rating. By no means is this a 4 * as rated by Sunquest..
Lastly, though I commented on the reception during our arrival, check out was very smooth. We had a late departure and appreciated the room they provided for us to clean up in after our last day at the beach.
The staff at the resort were very welcoming, friendly and they seemed to enjoy talking to their patrons.

Great for kids
On arrival to hotel we were told the room we had requested was not available and that for an upgrade of whatever charge we could pay we would get one. shower head had to be hand held or water would spill everywhere mini bar door did not close and the day before we left started spilling water. Room service is $10 but if u ordered more than 2 entres u had to pay $20. Restaurants were good. Buffet super busy and it seemed like staff never knew where things were. Coffee beans, bites and social bar w[... read more]ere my faves along with Bella cucina For the wait staff that spoke English it made our experience way better ie. Julio, Juan, they were the best. The girl at coffee beans was super nice as well but forget her name. Splash pad is great for the kids with the exception no alcohol or food or towels learned all this the hard way. The whole hotel had very lack of communication as to how things worked it literately took whole week to know the ins and outs of the place. Kids club great as well as teen lounge. Maid service was great.

Memories Splash was the perfect family vacation
The family trip we had from Toronto to Memories Splash in Punta Cana was an ideal winter getaway for a family with a very active 6 year old boy. Everything from the flight to the hotel staff to the waterpark to the beach was fantastic. The buffet selections were plentiful and the variety was more than sufficient for our family. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful and definitely made for a positive experience. Special hello to Ramon at the pool bar and Jay Blue of the entertainment [... read more]staff!
From Trip Central we booked with Tanya Smith who was able to answer all of our questions in a friendly an efficient manner and I would definitely recommend her to any Trip Central customers!
The beach at the resort was beautiful which is of course what Punta Cana is known for. My only complaint? The lineups in the Punta Cana airport both arriving and departing were extremely long -the worst I've ever experienced. It was very difficult to keep our boy from being bored out of his mind for the hour and a half we waited in line on the way home. It would seem that Punta Cana has become a victim of it's own success. That having been said, we would definitely return!

Great family holiday
Pleasantly surprised. Rooms were clean (beds were very hard and pillows were awful). Buffet was pretty typical for all-inclusive. A la carte restaurants were excellent. Love not having to make reservations. The waterpark was great however they are VERY strict on height and my daughter was at the cutoff point for the large and small slides. Pools were clean. Music around pool was too loud (no need for it to be that loud and I’m no prude when it comes to loud music). Not enough umbrellaâ[... read more]€™s around the pool. As a parent I like my kids to have a bit of shade to escape the sun for a few moments. Beans cafe was our daily stop loved it. Kids club was amazing. Best kids club we have been to by far. The beach at Royalton was beautiful lots of lou ge chairs. The little trolly that goes around resort comes frequently (those who complain about wait times clearly aren’t enjoying the relaxing lifestyle while in vacation). Walk to Royalton is only a couple minutes and you will see some wildlife along the way. The only thing I would change would be to upgrade to a suite next time.

Family Friendly Hotel
The people here are friendly, helpful and very accommodating to kids. Resort is a little older but kept very clean. The food was very good and lots of kid foods that children like. Loved the free WIFI throughout the hotel. The pools were a lot of fun. The water park looked like fun but that ended up being the biggest disappointment for us. We brought two grandchildren, both girls, one eight and the other six years old. The sisters are very close and always play together. When we arrived at the w[... read more]ater park we were told the eight year old could only use the adult side of the water park and the younger could only use the toddler area. It was based on a height requirement. They would not let them stay together even when I very nicely asked if they could be together on either side. We were refused. That was unfortunate as the water park was one of the biggest reasons we chose this resort.

Wonderfull resort
The hotel was very clean, never missed a towel or anything. Food very good. The ground was very clean and the hotel staff were very nice and polite.
It was very nice that we could also enjoy some of the facilities of the Royalton Hotel. Also it was so easy to get to the beach with the train transportation between both hotel. The beach is very nice and having a specific place for the Memories splash on the beach, the bar and a restaurant (buffet) for lunch was nice too. I would return anyt[... read more]ime.

Very nice resort
This was the second time to Memories Splash. My family enjoyed the pools, water park and the beach was amazing. We knew going down that the floors are slippery so be careful. The service and food were good however the service and food at Royalton(which we paid extra for) was excellent. I would go back to this resort but would stay at the Royalton as everything seems better there. The value at Memories is very good.

Very good resort
Great pools, good staff. Waterpark is amazing!
Food very average, the a la carts on the Memories side not very good and have long lineups. Have to pay to access the a la carts on the Royalton side.
The beach on the Royalton side is fantastic, maybe the best I have been to

Nice resort
The resort was beautiful, we were in building 9. We arrived on September 15, checking in was quick and efficient considering we were a party of 9. We were directly across from the splash pad which was great. The restaurants were great, but we were quite disappointed with the number of times Selections - the buffet posted a note stating they would be closed, but when it was opened, the service was amazing. We were also disappointed that the Under the Sea restaurant wasn't opened. Our room was med[... read more]iocre...when we arrived our safe wasn't working, our tv wasn't working and once the tv was fixed the remote wasn't working. It took several calls to the front desk to have them replaced/repaired. Our second day there, our fridge died and had to be replaced and we didn't have any hot water in the bathroom. The only complaint about the grounds themselves was the tiles they used outside and in the buildings - beautiful marble, but very slippery. I was also disappointed that the pools only stayed open until 6pm.
