Melia Internacional: Great Resort !!!

I would recommend this resort 10 out of 10 for cleanliness. The staff were excellent. There was a wide range of food select selection. We were all really happy with the resort it was by far the best resort I have been to in Cuba.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Beautiful. Resort and beach

Melia Las Americas: Making the best!

Cuba is definitely hurting and you can start to see if in the resorts and golf course. Just getting simple supplies for washrooms withing main lobby (ie. hand soap, toilet paper) seemed to be an issue for the staff. Overall the resort is a nice layout with beautiful views of the ocean. The beach is nice but the maintenance of cleaning up the seaweed was bad (some guy drives a tracker sort of dragging and mulching up the seaweed so it never if all that nice to walk on. The water is nice and did [... read more]nt have seaweed floating in it. The week we were there it was chilly and extremely windy so in the week we were there, we went in water once. Even the pools which looked nice didnt have anyone in them due to temp. The golf course needs some real care but the workers are too busy selling golf balls vs working. They only cut greens once (maybe twice) during week. They are short on machinery and don't seem to be in a rush to replace them. The carts are ok but they are definitely short of them and staff was saying management wasn't being quick to fix or bring new ones in. The tees had very little grass so most tees were simply sand. Fairways were ok but very dry. The greens were running really bumpy and slow. But you have to remember you are in Cuba. Advertised as golf included but at $44USD per player, this equated to $130 CDN for 2 of us each round. They should simply state that as the cost as you cant walk. The food was surprisingly really good with lots of variety. Beer and wine were enjoyable. The specialty restaurants were a nice break from Dining hall. Most people that we met that had the LEVEL upgrade didn't think it was worth it. Our room was very nice and clean. Showers were always with luke warm water. Tipping was crazy. It seemed (although not mandatory) that people were tipping for every drink, every meal, every visit to the grill, guys getting carts ready, etc. Did make you feel guilty when you didnt tip. Staff was very grateful when we left clothing items for them (eg. windbreaker, golf cap, couple dresses, etc. For the price it was good but need to manage expectations.

Sanctuary White Sands: Nice Resort

The resort was nice but for only being open not even 2 years, it was looking tired. The room was comfortable and clean but there was mold in a few places that should not be there already. Example on the bed skirt and around the vent in the ceiling. The public bathrooms need to be better tended to as there was always an odour. Toilet paper holders were broken in a lot of the stalls. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Lovely Resort, Incredible People

The resort was lovely, not too big or small. The grounds were lovely, especially the incredible sandy beach. What really made the trip special was the staff, Alex and Luis from the animation team, and Leo and Marise from the pool bar especially. Incredible effort was put into providing a variety of dishes with limited resources; many options are available, even for picky eaters.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Surprised this hotel was recommended by Trip Central

I had low expectations going to Cuba however the stay exceeded those low expectations 1 Towel in room despite asking staff for additional towels. Memories Jibacoa: Thanks for the Memories!

Our fourth trip here in 10 years…. Still never disappoints! Wonderful room, good and people. The only thing that didn’t cooperate was the weather. Lots to do everyday as the resort has so many cabs and old cars and horses and buggies and you name it .Thank you Memories Jibacoa??

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Simply amazing

I loved the hotel! The people are great and the rooms are very clean. The only downfall was the layout of the buffet, which created unnecessary backlog. The food was very good for Cuba and the a la cartes were excellent. Thanks for the fabulous stay. I want to go back when things settle there.

Beautiful resort friendly staff lots of great food and very clean will definitely return there was no shortages on anything cannot wait to return the snack bar had always lots to choose from buffet lots of selection and la carts are amazing if you visit Cuba make this your first choice

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Wonderful Resort

We returned from Iberostar Coral Esmeralda 2 days ago (Feb 7th)and had a fantastic, relaxing vacation. The resort was was quiet, had beautiful gardens, friendly staff and plenty of food including bread. There was always something good to eat at the buffet, we also had the option to eat at the Section Resort which was next door. The room was clean and the bed super comfy. The beach was beautiful! The evening e [... read more]ntertainment was good.We got a 750ml bottle of water daily in our room fridge, I brought my own water bottle from home and refilled it at the buffet or bar. Bugs were not an issue, so I didn’t have to use bug spray ( bring it just incase though). Tip with American or Canadian bills ( no coins). The Wi-Fi was annoying, it worked but I had to re-log in several times a day ( no big deal).It was great to safely walk off the resort and explore. I highly recommend this resort and would definitely return!

Iberostar Origin Tainos: 3rd time at Tainos

Hola Amigos !! We just returned from Iberostar Tainos Resort Jan 24-Feb 7 (our 3rd time here) and we had another excellent stay in Varadero Cuba. No problems other than the weather was a little cool at times but better than -23c in On. No shortages of anything food & booze & FUN!! It was an awesome trip as well as a great professional Staff. Hotel Bella Costa: Wonderful Stay with World-Class Beaches

This may be a three-star hotel, but it truly exceeds expectations. The rooms are a little outdated, but they are kept spotlessly clean, with lots of hot water and great shower pressure. Sol Varadero Beach: Resort met all of our expectations

The resort was fantastic, the food was excellent and no shortages of any food at all. Staff was fantastic and very welcoming. I would absolutely return tomorrow if I could but I will be going back.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

The grounds were very nice. The hotel is exceptionally clean. The food was great especially the al-a-cartes. The ocean view rooms was really nice and the wifi worked throughout the resort. The beach was nice. Any seaweed was picked up daily.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Disappointing

Trip Central was great and the WestJet flight was smooth with no issues. Unfortunately, the hotel itself fell short of expectations. Amenities were limited and not as advertised. Our first room was not a family room as per our booking, and there was a mosquito infestation that made the first night very difficult — especially with our 1.5-year-old and 4-year-old, who ended up with many bites. We also requested a crib for the baby and were told repeatedly it would arrive “the next day,” but afte [... read more]r five attempts, it was never delivered. To make matters worse, on the first night my wife’s foot was run over by a golf cart after the driver started moving before she was fully seated. Overall, transportation and booking were good, but the hotel experience was disappointing and not a recommendation by me.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort

Beautiful resort, clean, tidy, well kept grounds. Food was excellent. Upgradevto luxury worth every penny. The staff was amazing. We did not want for anything. Staff very attentive to all our needs. Room were very clean. Maids were awesome.

Melia Jardines del Rey: It was a good trip

It’s a little out dated We didn’t have problems with hot water but but some people did Beach was wash out But walking down a bit was better Food was ok same I could always fine something to eat Wasn’t a lot for the kids to do Intertanment was ok For what we paid Cuba is Cuba I would recommend this to place to people who don’t have high expectations and realize you don’t go to Cuba for the food You go for the people beaches

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Second time to this lovely resort

Hotel itself is new and modern. Some minor glitches with our bathroom door but minor. Facilities modern very clean and accessible. Staff kind, patient and gracious. Buffet had good variety and was very clean. Snack bar had wonderful staff good variety of items any time I went. Beach entry and exit can be challenging to those with mobility issues as there is a big drop at the water and the sand changes to egg size stones at the waters edge. Starfish Guardalavaca: Welcoming comfortable resort!

We came back here from Jan 22 - Feb 5, after staying here also last year. We were not disappointed. The friendly staff, the comfortable rooms, good food was exactly what we expected. It is a small resort, I believe a max of 200 guests. It is so nice to get to know all the staff, from the housekeepers, the bartenders, the front desk staff, the buffet attendants, the security as well as the Nexus Rep, Roger and the hotel Manager, Grace. They all did their very best to look after us.  [... read more]It is not their fault certain supplies are lacking but if you are looking for a simple, relaxing vacation with a cute little beach, never have to rush to beach loungers and a cold Cerveza always at the ready this place is for you. There was always a fresh omelette off the grill for breakfast with a variety of hot dishes and fresh fruit, yogurt and lots of bread and sweet rolls. We did not lack anything. The hot water is heated mostly by solar, so mid-day is the best time to get a shower and the Nexus rep told us this right from the beginning so there were no surprises. The linens and rooms are super clean and very quiet. At times, the bar music was too loud, but we simply asked them to tone it down a bit and that was no problem. This resort is right beside the little craft market with a wide variety of vendors who are happy to get to know you also. The town of Guardalavaca is interesting too and quite safe to walk thru. There are lots of horse and buggies as well as taxies close to the front entrance and they are more than willing to help you find your way around and see the sites. If you want to see Authentic Cuba away from the resort areas, visit Starfish Guardalavaca, slow down , enjoy the sunshine and people and take it all in. If you need a 5 Star Michelin experience, this is not for you.
