Great stay at the BP Ambar Green!!!

Everything went extremely well...the BP complex is huge but it was well kept, clean, excellent service and staff! Our requests were all met in advance. Only difference we found this time was that a lot of the drinks were really sweet (sweeter than normal) but managed to find something to enjoy!

Dream Vacation

Everything about this vacation was great from booking with Natausha at Trip Central, flying with WestJet from Toronto's Pearson Airport YYZ to Punta Cana's International Airport PUJ, our resort transfer bus staff, tour operator, and every member of staff we encountered while at Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro... Bahia Principe

Resort was very clean. Very busy resort. Lots of activities by pool and beach. Entertainment was great! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was okay but a la carte was not much different than the main buffet.

Great resort

Had an amazing trip, food was great very friendly staff , only complaint was lots of mosquitoes in room at night, could be because we were on ground level , but overall great place to relax,didn't make it to any shows as we were to tired to go but they seemed like would have been fun

Fun resort

I only have a previous all inclusive to Cuba to compare this to but this was many times better. The room was nice the resort was great and the food was amazing. Especially like the alacart we went to. Mexican and Japanese. The food and service were excellent. The only down fall was we could not get a time before 8:30 which we found late. All in all a great trip. Loved punts Cana. Would come again.

My 8 th times there.

We love this hotel, for the location, for the service, for the beach, for the beautiful grounds, clean rooms. Friendly service, help. We stayed at this hotel 8 times, and will go again and again. Who ever criticize this hotel must have very very high expectations. For this kind of price what else they want. One more thing that we don't understand, why man don't obey the dress code rules, and go to restaurants with shorts, flip flop sandals and baseball caps at night while their ladies are in  [... read more]proper, nice, night attire. Nothing but positive

This resort is by far one of best we have ever visited. We were here for ten days and have nothing but positive to report. From the rooms, getting around the resort, the staff, all positive. For the size of this resort it is very well organized, the food was top notch and no waiting at the buffet to fill your plate. Probably one of the most impressive things was how clean everything was. Good trip

Well kept grounds, clean room and lovely beach ... the most important parts to a good vacation. A la carts were good ( Dominican, steak house and Japanese ) . Buffet was decent if not as good as the GBP ones at the Mayan riviera complex . Overall would go back

Nice but very busy hotel, needs improvements to check in and concierge service

Check-in could be made far easier by an online submission of information prior to landing, their app should include approximate time of room being ready, towel cards handed out while you wait for room. Our room was delayed by almost 2 hours. Well kept grounds but super busy, like 700+ rooms. People reserve chairs at 5 am with towels and don’t return all day. Finding a chair or shade is only for early risers. English is not widely spoken so be prepared. Food was ok, but a warning with those wit [... read more]h allergies as signs were not accurate. If you have a life threatening allergy you need to get a letter at concierge to explain your requirements for staff to be aware in Spanish. Rooms are nice but we would have blankets missing day to day, someday there were enough towels for all room occupants and some day there wasn’t. Lots of mosquitoes in rooms so bring bug spray and allergy meds. Otherwise it was a nice hotel, kids club staff were great. Kids had a blast and I didn’t worry about safety. Go to the BBQ buffet at beach (req reservation) for excellent charcoal grilled meat.

Awesome vacation

This resort is amazing ... very big and very busy but very well maintained. The grounds are immaculate, the rooms and bathrooms everywhere are very clean, the best I've ever experienced . The staff are wonderful, very helpful and pleasant. The flight and ground transfer were seamless. A big thumbs up to Tripcentral and Shauna Langille ... thank you for a wonderful vacation. Huge Complex

The resort is huge. I got lost several times but it gave me the opportunity to look at everything. The gardens are beautiful. The resort is really clean. Everywhere you go you will see people cleaning and making sure everything is neat and tidy. The rooms are nice. The beds are a little hard but I found them to be quite comfortable. I don't mind giving tips for such great service. I would also leave the lady that cleaned our room some money and chocolate each day. She deserved it. The resort has entertainment day and night. There is always something going on. Food and drinks were great! The only issue that I had with the Bahia Principe was the beach. It is extremely overcrowded - almost claustrophobic. I am a beach bum so I was very disappointed with this. Instead I spent my week by the beautiful quiet pools that are there. Overall I had a wonderful vacation. I would recommend this resort to anyone that doesn't mind a lot of people and prefers to sit by a pool.

Very disappointed this time!

This was our 5th time returning to the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana. The first 4 times were amazing that is why we decided to go back this time to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary! Very sad to say that this Resort has gone completely downhill :( The first day when we arrived was all screwed up and by the time we got it all sorted out the day was pretty much over. We missed lunch as well so had to wait until dinner. We had been up since 2:30am so it didn't go over well, needless to  [... read more]say. The grounds are still beautiful as ever! The beach is still looked after and raked daily but, they have a real problem now with sand fleas which we never experienced before. The staff were less than helpful this time which was quite a shock to us as in the past they have always been amazing. I have to say that there are still a few that are genuine and very helpful but, that amount has gone from 100% easily to 25%. The dishes in the buffet are not clean anymore. You have to sort through them to find one that is clean enough to eat off......disgusting to say the least! Some of the food is still really good but, there are now many dishes that are just thrown together and are not enjoyable. You would never starve though! The Royal Golden Suites are now badly in need of a total overhaul. Services have gone downhill. You can report issues as many times as you like but, they fall on deaf ears now. The best thing about our trip this time was the "time to come home"! It's the most we have ever paid for this resort and the worst time we have ever had. We obviously tried to enjoy ourselves but, if it wasn't one thing it was another. Never again! :(

GREAT RESORT

THE GROUNDS ..THE BEACH..THE POOLS...WERE VERY NICE...GOOD PLACE TO UNWIND AND HAVE FUN....2ND VISIT TO THIS RESORT AND WOULD LIKE TO COME BACK IN THE FUTURE...ONE MINOR INCIDENT AT THE FRONT DESK THAT WAS EASILY CORRECTED

To big for me.

grounds well kept, staff good, food good except for large bug on sandwich tray in buffet. pools clean, beach clean, bar service good. room clean ,air conditioning worked well. this resort is huge and so many people that it is over whelming. to big for me to walk anywhere so needed to ride onsite tram network that is confusing to everyone.

Truly Amazing Resort

We have been travelling to the Caribean for our winter vacations for the past 20 yrs and the Bahia Principe Bavaro is by far the best resort we have stayed at. It is an overall quality facility, comfortable suites, very clean, and beautifully landscaped, with a georgeous beach, several large pools and numerous eating areas serving excellent food. As seniors we took advantage of the transportation to and from all areas that was provided on a 5 min. daily schedule. Our Christmas and New Years 6 course dinners were truly amazing. The presentation and quality of food was excellent. Entertainment was different from other resorts as well. In a theatre style section we experienced a magic show, an overhead acrobatic performance, a rock singing night; etc; all superior acts. We just can,t say enough about this resort and we will definitely go back.

Average resort

Had some personal property stolen from the room. And major plumbing problem not adequately taken care of. It is too big and too crowded. A thousand chairs and nowhere to sit. Lots of mosquitos and sand fleas or something. The staff can’t possibly cater to the guests as they should. I’ll stick to Cuba where you always get a warm welcome.

Great resort for families

Traveled to Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro from Dec 11 to Dec 16. Check in was quick and simple. The experience was good for the price. Please note that this is really not a 5 star resort more like 4 star for really good 4 star. Room: The room was big and they even gave us a crib. Issue: the air conditioning was weak and the air quality in the room was not too great. Whole family would sneeze and cough until we left the room. I was planing to ask them to switch to a different room but read other [... read more] reviews on this site that it was a nightmare process and was not really worth with it with a baby. Grounds: Beautifully maintained. Huge resort, lots of things to see and do. Too many mosquitoes though, so make note of that if you are pregnant of have little kids (take bug spray). Facilities: Pretty much has everything: Spa, many pools (kid and baby friendly ones too), restaurants, kids' water park etc. Staff: Absolutely great. Most of them took good care of us. Food: Not bad, most of the items are good and you can always find something to eat at the buffet. The chef was kind enough to even give us whole avocado for our 10 month of boy. Only complaint: the carving station's meat was always too dry. Beach: Beautiful to look at look at but too many people at the time we traveled. The 'premium' section is too big, they need a bigger regular section. There was lot of see weed in the water at the time we traveled. Would I travel there again? Maybe if the room's air quality was controlled a bit better.

Expected more

The staff were awesome, friendly and did an amazing job of making the stay upbeat and pleasant. Did not think this hotel was a "4", maybe a weak "3". Older complex that was maybe a gem in its hay day but the glitter is gone. WIFI was almost non existent, phone did not work, took 2 days to get the remote control fixed after three calls to concierge. Mosquitos in the room every night. Toilet did not flush properly. Not the kind of things you would find in a "5" star. I guess I was expecting more.

Adequate stay

Food was ok. Drinks were decent. Cats were limited Staff was friendly Rooms were clean BUT Roaches at the buffet🤨 WIFI adequate Beaches clutered Ala carte selective and even when not packed you couldn’t get a reservation. A lot of commission based ventures on site, so you can imagine the persistence of salesmen

First time in Dominican Republic, I could chose any resort and I always do my research, hearing that the Grand Bahia Principe was an excellent resort to be... it was true! Great choice for first timers, lots to see and lots to do! We’re going back next summer! See you soon! Thank you for the hospitality :)
