Fantastic Resort

We just got back from PYP a few days ago and I am already looking forward to our next visit. This was our first time there and I have to say that it was a great place. The swim out room was awesome!! Food was great. Staff was exceptional. Unfortunately my daughter had to use the services of the Doctor but she said she was fast and was able to give her the antibiotics directly so she didn't have to even leave the resort to get them. I would highly recommend this resort.

Awesome

The Yucatan resort was beautiful we stayed at the 3000 swim out and it was nice, we had some good times. A few things though.. our key for door didn’t always work, had to return 4 times to get a new key. We did play games at the pool but I found the night life very quiet, ya a few times band playing but for an adults resort I expected more happening crazy fun parties I guess. We did a catamaran excursion n it was quiet, only 20 people on boat had to sit no room to dance or move around to pa [... read more]rty it up, very disorganized, we ran around for our tickets n they brought us back late to miss our boat back so had to wait an extra hour. I found the price expensive for such a quiet ride n not much to do. All around I found it beautiful just very quiet n reserved. The food was awesome the people working were too. Just found too much walking. As in the other resorts, the sister resorts had better stuff like bars n casino n they have kids there, we were adults only n nothing like that. Too far to go at night. Not really our resort also.

Fair for price

Poor entertainment, beach has a lot of weeds, food is good, was misinformed on a excursion which was not worth the money ( cataraman ) good staff and friendly. We were told that there was a 3 hour delay to board plane and was not offered any compensation not good.

Fabulous

We had a great time at this resort. There was 12 of us and all loved this site. The only thing we would have enjoyed more would be some outdoor dining, especially at the buffet. We also didn't understand why you had to pay extra to eat outside at the Rodeo Grill. We have never encountered that anywhere else.

Amazing resort

This resort was amazing. The beach was a little rocky but we bought some water shoes and they did the trick. You can always just walk 2 minutes to the sister resort and they have a better beach. Food was amazing! Loved all the a la cartes. Was a great bonus that you didn’t have to make a reservation. We also had access to the restaurants at the sister resorts which was nice. Best resort ever!!!

My wife and I just came back from PYP 2 days ago!! So it’s still very fresh in our minds. We’ve been vacationing at various all-inclusive hotels for over 11 years and this hotel was the best by far!! Their gold standard service is their forte!! Wow! The staff is so friendly, courteous and efficient. Martin our beach waiter is the best. He never writes anything down and always comes back with the correct order. The food is fantastic. Buffet is very good and restaurants are as well. The Aroma  [... read more]restaurant was are least favorite, it was so-so. The swim out pools connected to our room made our stay that much more pleasant. Room service every morning came with a check-up call to make sure of our “delivery “. Beach is nice however find yourself a spot near the far right so you can enter the water in the sandy area instead of the rocky area which is right in front of the hotel!!! We can’t wait to go back next year!! Thank you to the management team and their staff!!

Not up to expections

I was at the Platinum Yucatan Princess all Suites -Adult from 8Jan/20 to 22Jan/20 The flight was good and Terminal 2 was fast and well organized in Cancun I was in room 1007-which is the quiet area with a swim out The room was good- nice comfortable king size bed and well appointed bathroom and nice deck. The deck furniture was very stylish and very uncomfortable to sit or lay on The floors in the suite are marble and dangerous as hell if wet or have have wet shoes - I have run in [... read more]to this before and always leave slippers at the door and at the sliding glass doors to the patio Maintenance service was fast -they fixed the screen door-it was ripped at the handle and let the bugs in and they replaced the TV which had white spots in the screen Maid service was excellent and they even have a service about 6pm every night to a fix any shortages or needs- ie more hangers and lack of face clothes, towels or shampoo, etc I had turndown service once in 2 weeks The swim outs are not private to the lower level but according to management include anyone in the building or the entire hotel. So why are we charged a extra surcharge on the daily rate? He claimed it was a provider charge, however their own lobby signs indicate the extra charge for pool access rooms. He also stated that all the pools are inter connected to the main pool. This is incorrect, the only pool access is at the 3000 building and the 5000 building which is connected directly to the 2 small main pools. None of the other pools are connected. The beach is not swimmable. There were red flags on 12 of the 14 days I was there. The beach is good but the water was very rocky -I always bring beach shoes. There were strong off shore winds and some days it was like being sand blasted if you were trying to relax and read. Very little sea weed or smell and there were people cleaning it every day. Food The buffet was excellent and had a very good selection of fruits and vegtables and the breads and deserts were very good, it had a good selection of main courses. Service was very good. I ate dinner mainly at the Rodeo Grill- its steak and snapper are very good -the chicken is huge- a whole half chicken and would be best split between 2 people. You can order off both the Mexican and Grill menus at the same time. The service was excellent and after 2 days they called me by my name at the door. They also have a small lunch snack menu of fruit and salad and small sandwiches which is also good. I ate at Aroma twice -the food and service where good, but I dam near froze both times -it had to be set at 65 degrees if not lower. I asked them the second time and they said they would have it checked. I ate at Bruschetta-Italian once and was very disappointed in the quality of the pasta it was tough and chewy. The evening entertainment was varied and good Clients I met a lot of nice people there and remet 4 people who had also been at the Princess all Adult from D.R. from the previous year at the same time. This hotel appears to have a very large component of clients who are in age range of 20 to 45 and I have never run into so many loud drunk people in all my travels. Airport premium travel lounge. I also book this. The food was decent and it was relatively quiet with nice seating. I left early at 1pm when they closed off the bathroom and said they ran out of water. They didn't announce this and I discovered it when I went to the washrooms and they were closed off. I don't know why they ran out of water as the public washrooms about 100 feet away had lots of running water. I would not rebook this hotel nor would I recommend it As long as the current health scare is lifted I will go back for a further 2 week holiday in Mexico by the end of March with Sunwing, just not to this one

Disappointing

There are no towel bars in the shower area. Only place for towels is on the floor. THe shower floor is EXTREMELY slippery - be sure to wear water shoes or risk falling. The patio area at the swim out pools has deteriorated to the extent you have to wear shoes or risk injury. They had the red flag out every single day - so no swimming. Service was fantastic, food was good but not great. We saw quite a few wildlife - We even managed to feed the coati!! On the whole not a bad place  [... read more]but not the 5 star we were led to believe - probably more a 3.5 to 4. I would recommend but with caveats.

Amazon Resort

Hi, the Platinum Yucatan Princess is a very nice resort. The hotel is beatifull, clean, quiet, all employees are sympatic. The food is excellent, lot of varities, good service everywhere. It was our first time at Riviera Maya and I'm sure it wont be the last. We enjoyed our trip. Thank you. Donat Essiambre Louise Villeneuve

Awesome time!

The platinum side of this resort was pretty awesome. I've been to the grand sunset and the riviera and now the Platinum. This was just a touch above the others. Booked a swim up room which was very unique and lots of fun. Not too noisy but not too quite. Great time overall!

Fantastic resort

The resort was beautiful. People were all very friendly. Entertainment was fantastic and excursions were absolutely amazing. The food was a little bland but plenty of it. If you went hungry it was your own fault. I didn't find there was enough seating at the pools or the beach. You can not swim at the beach without swimming shoes as there are several rocks. We had a fantastic time.

Wonderful vacation!

We chose this resort for our honeymoon. We had a great time! Great room, good food, beautiful beach, friendly staff! Would not recommend as a honeymoon spot though as they forgot to provide amenities.

Very well, good location service impeccable, very clean space Room service excellent Pool and beach very well Food is excellent , very good to have access to all the area for buffet Sometimes too loud at the pool Drinking too much for some people, not well organize

Splendid was had by all!

It was my first time in Mexico. Went there in search for a safe place to meet and rekindle with old female friends. We all left not disappointed. Beautiful grounds which are very well maintained. fun and cute wildlife abounds...Coalis and iguanas. Staff is friendly from the Main lobby for our reception to cleaning staff. Food is excellent, great selection of restaurants. Pools are plenty and very well kept. The Spa, well the Spa is excellent, very zen, invites you to relax and refres [... read more]h. I had 2 massages by incredible RMT Karen. I recommend the Yucatan Massage. Beautiful Spa outside. Our room was beautiful and well maintained by very pleasant and dedicated staff. Will I return, you bet, but for at least 10 days!

Amazing resort

Been traveling to Mexico for many years and have to say this is one of the nicest resorts I've been to. While the property itself is quite large, the Platinum Yucatan Princess section is very manageable. The nice thing about the property being so large is that is has something for everyone. Everything is always keep very clean, service is great and the food was amazing. Beach is a bit rocky and if you are looking for shade around the pool, not many umbrellas are available. Checked all the boxes for us and we will be back

To start with being a bigger property you do have a lot of choices, so many we didn't get to do them all. Normally for us the food is just ok as we have been to a lot of all inclusive resorts. The food here was the best we have ever had even the desserts had flavor at both buffet and ala carte restaurants. We played tennis for over two hours every morning and they even offer free lessons which a few in our group tried and loved. We paid the extra for the first time to get a walk out suite and loved this option always at the pool and only steps to go to get to your room. We did spend two days at the beach too and though a bit rocky in some spots as you enter the water still amazing. I played beach volleyball for 2 or more hours a day as lots a people means lots of players. Weather was perfect for the week and everything was so clean and tidy you knew you were experiencing a higher level of service. Thanks Princess team and staff, we didn't get to do everything so we will be back and staying longer next year.

Simply the best resort we've ever been to.

My wife and I have stayed at approximately 15 resort over the past many, too many years and this place was without question the best managed facility we've ever been to. Plusses Absolutely incredible food, overall easily the best food we've ever had at a resort and comparable to best restaurants we've ever been to. Extremely clean bright and spacious. A never ending choice of swimming pools. Very nice Beach. Incredibly cheerful and helpful staff. Minor negatives Concrete throughout o [... read more]ur area in the Platinum section was in poor condition and spalling. We absolutely had to wear sandals when walking about. Japanese presentation was very poorly done. The presenter was uninterested, never met our eyes, and the food was the singular example of mediocre food during the whole trip.

Fantastic Resort!!!

This resort had everything you could ever ask for! The rooms were great. The food was amazing with lots of choices. The restaurants were fantastic and modern. The facilities were clean and well maintained, including the pools and spa. The staff went above and beyond to assist and were all very friendly. The Animation team, kept us all very entertained throughout the day at the "party pool" and then in the evenings with the shows. Always something to take part in. The only down side was the beach - although it was very clean, well set up and easy to access, the ocean was hard to get into and out of due to the drop off and the ocean floor was rocky - so I would recommend water shoes. Unfortunately this is not something that can be fixed, but for those who enjoy playing in the ocean, this may be a downfall. I however, cannot wait to plan my next stay at this resort.

Amazing resort

This was our first time to a adult only resort and it was amazing. I would come back here in a flash. I would highly recommend this hotel.It was truly amazing. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help you out. Food was amazing there is something there for everyone. Staff are constantly cleaning. The beach is all cleaned now of the sea weed. The beach is beautiful, but the ocean is very rocky I would advise to wear water shoes if you are going in the ocean. The shows at night in the theater were good. I have no complaints, this is definitely a 5 star resort.

Beyond pleased service

This hotel went beyond the call of duty. Even the hotel manager Richardo R went out of his way to get towel for the beach. Unlike resorts in Dominican Republic when you have an issue, all of a sudden no one speaks English. These people at platinum resorts listened to every concern w hi rich wasn't many beyond towels. The foods were AMAZING. The drinks were plentiful and a very vast selection. We are looking forward to going back next year. Simply amazing!
