An enjoyable vacation!

The hotel was as to be expected, a little old but no major complaints! The bathroom was an accident waiting to happen. Getting in and out of the shower was a challenge not to slip, and if you were older or any bit drunk, you could easily fall and hurt yourself badly on the hard, wet marble floors. Needed more towels and there were no facecloths which makes it hard to wash oneself.... The food was good...no complaints about the buffets. But the A La Cartes were disappointing. All the staff and workers keep very busy and always have a smile for you! Loved the beach and the pool, yes, people reserve the chairs with towels but it never was a great problem and as they say if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!!

Amazing Resort

The grounds were beautiful, rooms were very nice and clean, clean, clean. All public areas were spotless. Service was excellent. The Staff was extremely friendly, and very helpful. I will definitely return.

Great Resort !

Stayed at this resort Mar.30 - Apr.06, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. A very clean resort - seemed like the staff were constantly cleaning the washrooms in the common areas. The room was a junior suite & was very nice ( bed was a bit hard ). Found the food really good at the main buffet, snack bar & beach buffet. There were always plenty of choices. Really enjoyed the evening entertainment. We stayed in Villa 47, which is at the furthest end of the Turquesa but it is only a 2min. walk to the pool, buffet & main lobby. I would definitely recommend this resort ( would be great for families ). Would have liked to speak with the young lady who looked after our room , but unfortunately she didn't speak or understand English, nor I Spanish. Found this also with some of the waiters & bar tenders - but not all. I would return, but probably to the Ambar simply because it is adults only & closer to the beach.

Wonderful resort!

Had a terrific stay! The staff are welcoming, hardworking and friendly. Get to know them! The entire grounds, inside and out, are immaculate. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Pool area is spacious with plenty of lounges. I'm a swimmer and the pool was meticulously maintained - so lovely! This hotel is ideal for families or anyone who wants to stay where you're not dealing with noisy neighbours in the wee hours of the morning. If you don't eat like a 'garbage can,' a.k.a. everything you see on your plate at once, you'll have something different to sample every day. Tried the BBQ, Mexican and Dominican a la carts and they were all good. The shuttle service to the beach was fun and ran constantly from 6 am to 3 am! You won't wait more than a minute or two anytime to hop on and go. It's a 5 minute ride or a 15 minute walk to the beach. The lunch buffet at the beach is great if you want to spend the day by the sea - no need to go back to the hotel for food and drinks. Going back to the Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa! Awesome resort!

We absolutely loved our stay at the grand bahia principe turquesa. We stayed there from feb.6-13 2015. The resort has so much to offer to everyone. It's very clean and the staff were amazing! Highly recommended!

So Much To Do

Beautiful, clean hotel. Staff are friendly and assist when they can understand what you are trying to say. If you want to save money on excursions tjere is so much to do around the hotel, great resort for families. Very quiet at night. Food was great... The reaort is quite large, the beach is at the very end however the constant trains and trolly's will get you where you're going- would definitely go back!

Fabulous resort!

We had a great time. Food was delicious...especially the beachside paella. Nice to see such variety with the buffet. Clean and efficient with the room fridge restock. We will definitely return for another stay!

Great Vacation, but beware of Bahai Principe Scam

Dominican was great, but didn't like the hotel trying to scam you to becoming their member. I am still going thru canceling the transaction they put on my credit card for their membership which i wanted to cancel soon as i purchased after three hours. The space here is too small to get into details.

Good solid resort

Gran Bahia Turquesa has a good setup with the rooms, pool and lobby quite close. You take trolleys to the beach which is a short ride. The beach was disappointing as seaweed covered the beach and the water.

Great resort... Beach too crowded

Resort, beach, staff, food, amenities and service were superior. There was a live band that plays every night at the lobby. For me that was a big plus. The only drawback I experienced was that the beach area was too crowded. We had a hard time finding sunbeds.

Always enjoyable

Very good value. Beautiful grounds. Fabulous beach. Its like a little city and i love that. The only bad thing is my mattress was very hard and very uncomfortable ive been back for 2days and my back is still killing me.

Beautiful Resort!!!

My friend and I just came back Nov 20 after 1 wk at the Grand Bahia Touquesa, Punta Cana. Beautiful time, people, facilities...Absolutely no complaints. Grounds spacious, rooms nice, food good, even at the buffet, entertainment varied and talented people. The resort is huge, with various complexes, ours good although at 1 al a carte, people disappointed with theirs as under renovations. A drag if there only 1 week. 50.00 US went a long way with tipping. People so appreciative and one gets that e [... read more]xtra smile, and service everywhere. Beach crowded although enjoyable, different atmosphere. We only walked it and took turns swimming, as a pallapa was not attainable unless there by 8:00 a.m. I hear. Water warm, beautiful, and very scenic, good for walking. We walked there, took the tram back, a few times. Did get the runs for a full 24 hours near the end. DO NOT DRINK THE WATER, under any circumstances. I brushed my teeth all week with the tap water. Do not know why this, but perhaps a combination of things. Pool HUGE, good for laps with a swim up bar. Tourists very varied, many Europeans, and especially Russians. Found this interesting, although do not think they tip, which could have contributed to their somber mood. South Americans there too, was surprised. The locals come on the weekend, with their children. Although a bit loud, found it added to the charm. Various tours, however did not partake. Just a lounge lizard most of the time LOL. Finally, the weather was SPECTACULAR, hot and sunny every day with scattered clouds. Only once did it rain, however just briefly down pour early one morning. Short bus ride to the hotel from a state of the art new airport. STRONGLY RECOMMEND, excellent value that time of year. Kudos too to Air Transat, no problems, re designed planes, excellent in flight entertainment. Honourable mention to Johanna from the front desk. So pleasant, and accommodating, we had to change rooms to 2 beds. And lastly, would go back, 10 days would be more ideal, but did not see this with Trip Central at time of booking. Great for families with young children

Our overall experience was good. It was clean , food was excellent. It is a very large resort so make sure to pick the one that most suits your needs. For us we stayed on the turquesa part which is mostly suited for families with children. The staff were very friendly and catering to the children. There was always something for the children to do. The resort was very large so the frost day or two was a bit challenging to find everything. But staff were helpful.
