Amazing party resort

Love the resort, if you are looking for a party, there is one to be found every night. Friendly happy people everywhere we went, made lots of new friends, frienfly staff, grounds and rooms were clean, food was not the best, but found something to my likes everyday. Pool party's were amazing !! You must try the jerk chicken on the beach :) I would definitely recommend this resort for anyone who's looking to have fun at a resonable price.

Dirty, run down,

The grounds are beautiful and well kept with the exception of the beach. There is so much seaweed on the beach it seems like they’ve given up on maintaining it as there was literally more seaweed than sand. Water was extremely rough everyday and absolutely not safe to go into and I’m a good swimmer. Red flags everyday - disappointing. Staff and food were hit or miss. Rooms are VERY basic. We literally were given a bed sheet (1) and 2 very flat pillows. We had to request blankets and pillows but took a few days to get everything. 1 plug in the room and a usb charger. Our usb was broken and didn’t get fixed although we sent in 2 maintenance requests. Party pool is disgustingly dirty. Pool water is below the skimmer level so it gets nasty. Drinks were fantastic and bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly.

Amazing Party Resort!

This resort was definitely one of my favourites! The resort has lots of entertainment and activities, it’s very clean overall and the buffet is delicious. There is a variety of à la carte restaurants which include Spanish, Italian, Indian, Asian and Japanese foods. The service is top tier and the workers on the resort are very kind. It is important to note that depending on the time of year you visit there may be a lot of seaweed along the beach front. I would recommend this resort to anyone that is looking to party.

Party resort

Couple - mid 40’s —Party resort —The resort is ok. The grounds are beautiful. The staff are great and work very hard. No issues at all. Food- lot’s of variety, great beach, lots of chairs. HOWEVER—- this is where the review is not good. It’s mostly for 20-30 year old people who love to party to hip hop music. One night we were awakened at 2am by blaring hip hop from one of the rooms. Lasted till after 3am with security being involved. Absolutely no consideration for other people. [... read more] If you want to party there are common areas for that. A lot of people we talked to also got sick with a stomach virus. Our 3rd day in I got very sick for 9 days. There were two party pools, crowded, people eating in the pool and particles of food floating around. Didn’t go in those pools because it was gross. Will never return to this resort for these reasons.

Great resort!!

Great Resort!! Great for people that enjoy partying!! The grounds and rooms are well kept and the staffs are great and always there to help (a lil tip goes a long way). The entertainment team is AMAZING!!! This was my second time there and I enjoyed it more this time around since everything was open. Highly recommend it!!

Amazing 18+ resort for ages 18-40

This hotel was great for me and my girlfriend It was definitely more of a party resort with around 75% of the guests under age 40. Something was always going on and nightlife was great. Would return!!

Avoid at all cost

We all came back sick and saw many ppl getting food poisoning. This resort is definitely not a 5 star. More like a 3 star. Rooms stink so bad and beds are so filthy Never again. Total waste of money .

Best part of the trip was the food and staff

Grounds - the grounds were beautiful and very well kept Rooms - the rooms were clean, a little musty day one, but I got used to it after. They were all white so not as interesting as it could be compared to other resorts but no real complaints. Dining - I LOVED the breakfast! I loved it, ten extra pounds later, lol. The food was great the rest of the day too for the most part. Asian and Italian not out favourites, Indian and Steakhouse were our favourites. The level of service during our first couple of days was amazing, they paid so much attention so when drinks ran out and plates were empty they were quickly replaced/removed. The last days it wasn’t good, so don’t judge them, service depends on the day I guess. Entertainment - not much in the way of night time entertainment, the Michael Jackson show was fun to watch. We didn’t do the daytime parties Tips: for the first couple of days we got towels no problem. Then it was busier and we didn’t get towels for a couple of days. You have to get towels before bfast to be sure you have one. Covid - wasn’t even a consideration. We come from Canada where about a third of people still where masks all the time. Rarely did people behave in any way with Covid in mind.

Beautiful resort but sunwing is awful

Housekeeping was trash. bathroom had no ventilation. Our flight got delayed multiple times and they never informed us each time. ended up dumping us at the airport at 1am for 9hrs with no food,water or AC. Food/party staff were amazing tho. Don’t fly with sunwing

Riu Republic - Crappy Resort

My first vacation in 25 years, I was really looking forward to this trip, what a disappointment. The resort staff was not that friendly, the service was poor, the food was mediocre and the overall quality for what we paid was not worth it. Our room was without water for over 16 hours, we were told to use the bathroom down at the beach club if we had to use the facility.......totally unacceptable.... our mini bar was not restocked daily as it should be, we had to continuosly ask for service.  [... read more] The nightly entertainment was very bad, no interaction with the guests , just lame shows. The daytime activities also were lacking quality, more like a 2 star resort. I would never recommend this resort to anyone

Our 1st All-inclusive exceeded our expectations!

This was our 1st all-inclusive experience and the resort went beyond our expectations. Our room was great with an amazing view and the connections we made with a number of staff was awesome.... Everything worked out well and look forward to considering a return trip in the near future. Overall experience was great.....

Good resort

Went on a solo trip and the resort had lots of activities for people there. Wished the room was cleaned better even when asked multiple times. Ricardo at the front was amazing The staff should try to ensure all guests are treated equal to the games The jerk chicken was really good and strongly recommend going there for lunch. If you want to dine at the steakhouses please make reservations at 630pm. Book your excursion at Scuba Caribe, $99 gives you 7 activities.

Great resort

This was a great resort with lots of pools and many lounge chairs. The bars had many good drinks and always around to take your order. The food was ok but it could have been better. Our room was the main floor courtyard, quiet with large rooms. It was my husband birthday so when we came in from the pool he had little gift to celebrate the birthday. We we also had a bottle of champagne. All in all the experience was good with lots of things to do.

Beautiful resort

The service wasn't a 5☆ and also the beach was disappointing , they clean pools very late in the day, staff not to friendly 🙄, sea weeds at the beach smell terrible ,change the buffet dinner from one restaurant to another without notice.... we understand that opening after the pandemic is kind of difficult especially with short staff .....

Stunning!

Riu Republica was hands down the cleanest, most accommodating and fun resort we’ve ever been to! The resort was spotless, even the communal toilet facilities were sparkling clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and always wearing masks. Lots of activities available with the smiling staff leading the way. Food was great and not a single person in our group got the tropical food sickness! The room was clean and comfortable, and the cleaning staff was prompt and did an amazing job! Not a 5*

Riu Republica is not a 5* resort. It is only 5 years old but it shows its age. Some rooms are in desperate need of repair. We had to change accommodations 3 times,to finally be happy with the room. Have to be fair, staff was very happy to help us find comfortable place. Hotel hallways are like something you would find in the basement. Rui Republica Lives up to its name

This is definitely a party hotel !! It’s perfect for 20+ & 30+ who are looking for that bar music, loud, party pool !! I took my 4 adult sons, ages 23,25, 25 & 29 and they had a blast !! The shows were ok, too short tho, some 30 mins, some 40-45 maybe, not the 1hr shows like at other hotels. We would definitely go back, however: Resort/Rooms: In all honesty it should be a 4 or 4.5 resort due to the cleaning staff not picking up cans or plates left around the resort by inconsiderate travelers as well as the quality of materials throughout the rooms and resort. Don't get me wrong, the rooms were nice, not the nicest we've seen, but nice. But paint of every light switch and room number plates just jumped out as a lack of quality on the maintenance side of things which just made  [... read more]it seem cheaper then advertised. We had a partial Ocean view room which was a stretch because we only see the Ocean a far ways and a bit over the resort walkway palm trees. Don't pay the extra money for it. I swear it's not worth it. Our mini fridge wasn't refilled systematically without asking and this even after leaving 5$ tips every single day for cleaning staff. Pillows in our room really sucked and there were no other option available. They were very small and stuffing very cheap feeling. The Cola in your fridge is Cana Cola(local) which taste like RC cola. The 7up equivalent however is really good. The restaurants all have Pepsi products. If you want real Coca Cola, you'll need to purchase from shop. All shops, restaurants and bars had excellent service and staff was friendly and enjoyable. We were friendly to all and tipped well and received excellent and quick service and were recognized constantly by our "usual" servers/bartender. Food: The À la carte food was excellent at the Asian, Steakhouse and Indian restaurant. The Italian place was disappointing and we didn't hear good things about the spanish place so we did not go. The whole time we were there the fancy restaurant Killarium wasn't opened. The buffet food, regardless of time of day, was great. The only 24/7 spot on the resort is the Sports Bar. They have Nachos, Hot Dogs and Burgers always available. Pools/Beach: Party pool was, well, as advertised and we had a blast, it seemed to be the place to be. It was easy to find chairs. The beach is okay, it's clean and maintained. The merchants on the beach made for a few unpleasant experiences where we were literally fast asleep enjoying the sun and getting woken up for pedicures and manicures or pictures with monkeys. The quiet pool is as advertised, situated between both swim up bar pools, it's surprising how quiet it was. Don't bring your own towel, the ones provided are great and nobody while we were there, was being selfish with chair reservation. We were able to find great chairs everyday. Shopping/Shops/Merchants: There's a beautiful strip market at the end of the entrance road of the resort(off-resort) called Punta Blanca, these merchants all have the same if not better merchandise than the resort shop and beach vendors for a third of the price. This is where we bought our souvenirs after having overpaid on the beach. You live and learn. The resort shop has whatever one may need in case you forgotten something or needed something. The sunscreen was between $15 USD and $36 USD depending on brands. They had hats, shirts, dresses, Cola, liquor, cigarettes, souvenirs, beach bags, ect... Tours and packages: DO NOT PREBOOK YOUR PACKAGES. I repeat, do not prebook. We had to get refunded because the options made available by your representative at the resort are so much more detailed and the specifics of the packages are not well explained on the website vs in person. For example, we had pre-booked a Catamaran trip, however after explanation we were told that our Catamaran trip was a party boat excursion with beach visits. At the resort we opted for a different Catamaran trip called the Seaquarium where you go on a half day, snorkeling and underwater excursion where they put domes on your head and you can breathe normally while enjoying schools of fish. This to us was more appealing than the half day party cruise. The horseback ranch prices were reasonable to go ride, however when we arrived back at the ranch, the price they wanted for photos was $160 USD which was nearly double price of the excursion, luckily for us we had our cell and we had taken some great photos. If you do go, put your cell in one of those necklace style dry cases so you don't lose it while riding. The coolest thing we did was to go Swim in a water filled cave during the Adventure Boogies (dune buggies) package. It was amazing. Felt surreal. COVID-19 measures: It cost us $80 USD each to have our COVID-19 PCR test on site. ($105 CAD) The staff wore masks, tables were cleaned quickly and all restaurants required mask when entering and at all times if not seated. The restrictions were not strict and we were happy with it as this wasn't a concern for us. We were really happy to live a normal life, seeing other peoples faces and enjoying the company.
