Great Vacation Spot!

You couldn’t ask for a more convenient location, 4 min. from the airport. Let the vacation begin! The grounds and beach are so clean and well manicured. The staff are beyond amazing! Even after working 12 hrs they always are full of energy and very interactive. The food... wow... something for everyone! I had the best location for my room, directly above the entertainment looking out to the ocean and view of the entire resort! Some people would complain of the noise from the entertainment fro [... read more]m 9-11 at night, but for those nights you are too tired to partake, you can enjoy it from your room. All inclusive water sports were fantastic. This is the first time I didn’t do any off site resort excursions because I never once got tired of the resort in my 7 day vacation. This resort is also wheel chair accessible and convenient for those with mobility impairments. Small resort with a great layout. Book it, it’s a must! I highly recommend booking via Trip Central for all your vacations. They never disappoint!

Very new and hip

Great resort and great food. The advantage is that this resort is 8 minutes from the airport, however the planes are very noisy when they fly over your head. You do get used to it however. The grounds are small so good luck jogging there, however there is an exercise room. We were warned that this resort was more of a party place and it lived up to it. Clean resort

I thought the resort clean. Not a lot of day time activities. Night activities are too late. The beach had a lot of seaweed and the sand was very rough. Rooms very clean. Only stocked bar every 2 days. Line ups for restaurants were too long. Bartenders and staff were amazing.

Nice Resort

Riu Reggae was very nice. Not too big and everything was nearby. All the restaurants were side by side, and was nice not having to make reservations and you had unlimited access. Food was also very good at all restaurants. I think my only complaint was the time of the entertainment starting, but I also understand the staff seem to be on the grounds most of the day and night and need a break in between.

Great Vacation!

Just came back from the Riu Reggae in Montego Bay Jamaica. We had one fantastic time from start to finish - didn't want to leave! Everybody was so welcoming and friendly. Food was fantastic and entertainment I can not say enough about. Every night these dancers put on quite a show after working hard all day entertaining guests with different activities. A big shout out goes to all of them for a job well done! Special mention to one fantastic dancer that I could not keep my eye off of when  [... read more]he was on stage (Short Boss) and to the choreographer for creating fantastic shows each night. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone thinking of travelling to Jamaica.

Fantastic Resort

This hotel and property were immaculate. Buffet was fantastic, only did 1 al a carte, which was very good. Rooms were very clean and well stocked with anything we needed. Lots of staff on all fronts. We always seem to see somebody cleaning, from walls to doors to floors. Jerk chicken on the beach is a must, it was so good.Entertainment group were alot of fun and very talented. Most seemed to be there day and night and friendly. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Awesome vacation

Resort was so clean, workers were constantly cleaning the grounds. I didn’t see one bug during my visit! Food was good, people were friendly and very helpful. Entertainment crew were so awesome! Lots of fun activities during the day around the pool and then they put on the best shows every night! Shout out to Short Boss and Barbie Girl.....so friendly and Jaguar....such a beautiful dancer! Amazing time!

Everything was spotlessly clean with great food and amenities. Staff everywhere were friendly. The entertainment team were great and put on the best dance shows that I've ever seen in an all inclusive resort. Grounds were compact and small including a small beach but it didn't matter at all in the overall experience. Had a fabulous time! Usually don't return to same place on vacation but I would for the Riu Reggae.

Fabulous resort!

This hotel was great! The food was amazing..especially the jerk chicken! I can’t say enough about the entertainment team..they made the stay with their energy and warmth. The service was impeccable and the staff always helpful.

Excellent resort

Hotel was very clean with lots of staff keeping it that way throughout the day. Food was very good and you don’t have to make reservations.Pools were clean and always plenty of lounge chairs available. Shows at night were great, the entertainment crew were fun and engaging. Beach was clean and lots of lounge chairs, paddle boards and canoes available. Great resort would definitely visit again.

Great holiday

Very nice resort well maintained and clean Great animation team with activities through out the day keeping the guests entertained . Great jerk chicken every day at the beach hut and no need for resos for dinner at any of the restaurants. The beach is a little small but always found a chair to sit and relax. Overall was a great week and would return.

Good Vacation!

Really enjoyed the pool! Beach is next to pool which makes for a great view!! Found that the servers didn’t come to chairs, had to get up and get drinks - which was fine. Jerk chicken is amazing and food in steakhouse was delicious. Small resort which we enjoyed. Could have been better if it had a disco but you could walk to the resort over and go there.

Riu Reggae not worth the time or money

It was awful. The highly acclaimed entertainment staff was the worst I have ever had! Sure they talked to everyone in the morning but with the exact same banter everyday to everyone. They had no skills to talk about. None. I had better entertainment at a high school musical. The worst part is that there is no music - not even at night. No dancing unless you can stay up long enough to trek down to the other resort after 11pm. Their shows only start at 10:00 pm. Imagine waiting three hours f [... read more]or a long drawn out show! They do have a live band by one pool for about an hour each day. It was uninviting. The pool they played at seemed exclusive to a hand full of guests. The other pool seemed to have more guests enjoying it, but I noticed no one ever used the washrooms - very gross. The foam party was a flop. The machine did not produce any foam. They didn' t even try to fix it. We had to ask why we could not get coffee or drinks at the buffet. We would sit there as long as possible and then most of the time get up and take coffee from the pots sitting at the waiting stations. A few times we got service. Let me make this clear - we spent a fortune on tips as we always do. The bar staff at the beach were trying their best to accommodate. However, the alcohol served is worse than in Cuba. The beach is probably the worst part of this resort. It's man made murky and lifeless. The rooms are okay. The food was okay. Book somewhere else - I am sure it will be better than this place.

Great times

Rooms were clean,peoples are happy,beach and food were very satisfying,the entertainment could have started sooner,a bit of a lull,between supper,sunwing was amazing experience , more music at the swim up bar,for sure!

Great resort!

I cannot fault the resort at all - it was a wonderful week vacation. The only thing i wasn't a huge fan of was the beach - it was very small and the water wasn't clear. The resort staff and entertainment team were awesome! The food was delicious and the rooms were great.

Great compact resort!

I would give this resort a 5* rating IF they had had in room coffee and the halls had been more sound proofed! The food overall was excellent with the specialty restaurants being the preferred night time dining option. Entertainment crew was enthusiastic and excellent. Good water aerobics. However we found the gym sparse. No leg equipment. Yes there were some free weights but minimal upper body machines. A 5* IMHO should have a better equipped gym. Even though we are technically seniors we love [... read more] to work out so a gym is important to us. We cruise a lot and have been to dozens of resorts so not having coffee in the room and a so so gym made this not quite a 5*. The beach is not very wide but it is clean. The water was sometimes murky. We did have privileges st RIU Montego Bay but not RIU Palace. We chose RIU Reggae for its Adults Only vibe. It was fine. There was nothing we considered risqué. If you want risqué go to a Hedonism resort!😜 Hubs was able to get Chivas Regal but no really top notch Scotch here. The vodkas and rums were also middle of the road. House white wine was not good but more expensive bottles were available for purchase. House red was passable for lunch. Beer was excellent. There were a lot of mixed drinks we saw being had by others. However neither of us were sweet drink fans so have no idea of their worth. Pools were hip deep. That’s it. Two pools and both had swim up bars. There was volleyball on the beach and in one pool daily. Lots of 20, 30 and 40 something couples at this resort. They were very active at the bars and in the pools. We are young seniors😜 but we were in the minority. We just mostly chilled. So all in all a good 12 days spent here.

Loved the Reggae Resort!

First, I'd like to thank Laura M-S for arranging a great trip and making the whole thing a smooth time. The resort was excellent and the service was top-notch. The food had great variety and was professionally prepared and presented. Highly recommended!

Good value resort

Hotel was clean and modern, but the room was underwhelming. The restaurants were good and the service varied from average to very good. The entertainment staff were friendly and engaging. The resort had an energetic vibe and guests participated in organized activities including beach volleyball, horseshoes, crazy games, etc. The beach was average (pebbly and some seaweed) and walks were limited to about 1 km. The nightly entertainment was very good with copious amounts of twerking. There were ma [... read more]ny planes flying overhead, but it didn’t really bother us (some people made a drinking game out of it). Overall, for the price, it was a good resort. I would not call it a 5 star, more like a 4 star.

Good Resort

The hotel was good, staff was somewhat friendly, and rooms were clean and done up daily. The only way you got bar service is if you had money for tipping in your hand, if not you waited until all who had tip money was served first. The only thing I did not like was there was no coffee makers in the rooms, I would not return for this reason. Also, I would not return due to the beach area, small and not sandy, had small pebbles hard to walk on. The RIU REGGEA RESORT was ABSOLUTELY the BEST... spacious , Very clean, Awesome Food Selection, AMAZING ENTERTAINMENT LOTS OF BARS. ONE 24 hour in lobby FRIENDLY STAFF VERY CLEAN ROOMS POOLS Maintained on a regular basis, Grounds well taken care of. A lot of free Water Sporting Activities for Exercising or for your own leisure In the past 20 years of Traveling... We were very pleased with our experience at the RIU REGGEA resorts in Jamaica
