Riu Palace in Costa Mujeres

Beautiful, very clean resort. Staff very friendly and always helpful. Comfy bed and nice rooms/balcony. Clean shady beach. Always can find a shaded area around the pool if you want to stay out of the sun. Food was fantastic. We were abit far from the city so you can’t leave the resort unless you go on excursions or take the bus(which is free) My only complaint was that our balcony faced the other hotel and we could hear the machines that provided power for the a/c. We asked for a room change t [... read more]he next day and they allowed us choices of rooms that faced the courtyard which were surprisingly quiet. We were even able to sleep with the balcony doors open. We were very pleased with our 7 day stay at Riu Place.

Had a Great Time!

Our group of 7 adults had a great time at this resort last week. The food was fantastic. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. Despite being a large group we were able to get into most of the al a carte restaurants with very little wait. The beach is amazing - lots of trees and shade and plenty of distance to walk. It was never a problem to get a beach chair.

It was very good service, clean, staff were nice and on top of things.but one thing never agree on zero level hotel rooms cause all restaurants are on first floor, every time a chair is moved you hear it till morning. Our first night was a nightmare, but then we asked for different room , the ride from airport to hotel was 1 hour the agent told me 20 minutes only!!!. And make sure check the weather....also no privacy when taking shower.

Perfect beach lined with palm trees. Beautiful property. Great food every night. Even the nightly shows were way above expectations! 10 days was not enough of a stay... and I would definitely recommend the resort to others and will make a return trip in the future.

Excellent Brand new Hotel

Great hotel, this is brand new one year hotel. Not very far from city but very calm and quiet place. amazing food and clean beach and variety of pools. Love the place, would love to go back there again. Very friendly staff and fast service.

Has checked every single box!

where to start? Easy van ride to the property. about ten miles N of Cancun. Not on the more populated strip. this is the only one in this area, some new construction a bit South of the resort. Palladium about 2miles south. This is fairly new. contemporary designs, no corny bamboo chairs or heavy furniture. room clean, beautiful hardwood floors. double sinks, huge walk in shower with frosted doors. separate door into toilet. excellent service for towels, always lots, and turndown service wi [... read more]th all laundry replaced again. Landscaping and flora beautiful! at every turn there is something beautiful to see. frig stocked , didn't have to phone about anything. TV... HBO, CNN FOX etc. but the facility has an amazing outdoor theatre, partially enclosed though, full bar service and once again comfortable contemporary furnishings and seating. Looks out over the ocean . premium drinks in ALL areas, incl the beach service. If you want Bacardi Anejo Rum, just ask, they are too happy to use it, its all there. corridors and bathrooms spotless. elevators and ramps, we saw a lot of people in w/c about. boardwalk to the beach, about 80meters from the main pool area and showers that work at the beach exits. POOLS kept pristine, we saw them cleaning every night. Restaurants, beautiful decors, lots of salad bar options at them. don't need to make reservations or deal with silly meal tickets, just get dressed up and go to the one you want. Wines, re choices, the white sauvignon was nice, some of the wines can taste vinegary and not rich, no problem here, often they just left the bottle on the table. also, there are no offers for "other wines or "lobster, extra charge", I have never enjoyed so many huge and delicious shrimp options. The buffet is Huge, everything regularly replaced, they are very proud of their food prep. they leave your coffeepot on your breakfast table, no searching for someone to get your Café con Leche! You can get coffee at bfast, or stop by the Capuchino Lounge on your way past to get a special coffee to take to bfast. There are so many beautiful venues to sit, take pics, eat, swim, sun, I can go on and on here. The grounds are stunning, the beachfront is dotted with Palm trees which give just the right shade for laying or playing there. LOTS of beach chairs, and they are comfortable. BEACH! sand sand sand, you can beachwalk wellover 2 hrs in either direction.even and maintained, groomed and levelled daily, but there wasn't much seaweed. Its kind of little branchy stuff. the water and surf are great to jump and play, so many families enjoying same. Lots of people would migrate to the main lounge after dinner... floor to ceiling windows all across with continuous view of the ocean... again premium drinks with amazing service and beautiful chairs and patio type tables at which to sit. No bad views, the gardens are gorgeous, we were on the wing facing south, and got sunrise and sunset EVERY Day , so gorgeous. They are low level buildings, 4 stories, we were on second floor, swimouts below, and they are a fairly great size in themselves. I think five hundred dollars more.. There is a lot of glass, from the lobby into the huge front courtyard facing the beach there a huge sliding glass doors, never far away from an effortless stroll, don't even have to open the doors. Eating grills at each end of the facility, Food starts here late morning till 4pm, grill chicken pork, beef French fries (OMG AMAZING) veggies, burgers and hot dogs, and all the fixings, again, staffed by 3 cooks and constantly refreshing the food. lots of bathrooms (cleaning lady permanently stationed there and cleaning these areas constantly. there are no gross smells or spills. No garbage laying around here... staff always picking up plates, etc. PoOLS

Great resort

Great newer hotel, good selection of restaurants. Great pools. Swim up room is more of a mini private pool . Only down side is distance to excursions, about an hr from Cancun and 2.5 to 3hrs total to atv ziplines and ruins.

Beautiful Resort

Beautiful new resort; not too large. Rooms were nice and clean and only a few min walk to pool/restaurants. Only complaint is that the bath tub is right beside the bed and shower area open to the room (not the best when sharing a room for privacy). Some rooms have pull out couch which was great for kids not having to share beds. The "Double" beds are not true double (seemed smaller) but is big enough for kids or 1 adult to sleep comfortably. Italian was good, Fusion was the best! Did not try Japanese or steakhouse. Enjoyed having the lunch bar near the pool, if you did not want the buffet you did not need to go far for delicious food (my Husband said the burgers were the best he has had in a long time) and the Guacamole was amazing!!! Pool bar service was amazing! Server was checking on you frequently and very friendly Multiple pools was wonderful and having 2 swim up bars was nice. There is a separate activity pool so if you wanted to participate you would and if you wanted to relax or stay at the bar you were not disturbed by the pool activities/parties. Foam party is a must attend! Waterslide park is only a few steps away and greatly enjoyed by all in our group (young and old) Beach was beautiful and loved how some sections offered shade for the kids to play and you should still be in the sun if you wanted only a few feet away.

Incredible Resort!

Grounds are in pristine condition, there are people cleaning constantly and the food was amazing (with the exception of the Japanese restaurant). Lots of swimming options for both adults and kids and lots of opportunity to take part in different activities! Overall, we were very happy with our destination decision!

Great Family Resort

Everything was top notch - very clean, friendly staff - so many food choices at all meal times. Nightly shows were awesome. Foam pool party was a blast. Only negative think we found was that some of the services for the spa (hot tub etc) were only available at the Dunamar property. Also, not a lot of things to do for teens. Pool tables etc were again only at the Dunamar property. Only had a ping pong table at the Palace. Water park was so much fun too!

Amazing Resort!

Everything was lovely, from the check in time, to the friendliness of staff to the cleanliness of the room. The food at the Buffet was awesome, with many options and great variations. The grounds are well maintained and everything was really nice and clean. The rooms were really spacious, with a lovely balcony (with partial ocean view), and a stacked fridge (way more than what we needed). The beach was amazing, with warm, white sand and azure water. During the time we were there (Oct. 2019) it was not too busy, so that was absolutely amazing. We were able to find plenty of spots at the beach in the morning and at the pool in the afternoon. I would highly recommend the place, and i hope to return next year!

Great trip

This resort is beautiful. Everything is clean and very well maintained. It’s grounds are immaculate and the staff is very friendly. The food is always fresh and abundant. I would highly recommend this resort.

One of the best resorts in Cancún

It’s a brand new resort, with luxury feel to it. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was delicious and variety of options to choose from. The sport and entertainment team were amazing. Overall you can’t go wrong with this resort.

Very little to complain about

Let me start by saying this was my first time in Mexico and im very glad I chose this resort. The hotel itself is gorgeous, very modern, our room was nice and spacious, it was very clean, we never felt unsafe and the food was very good. My favorite was the buffet because it had a little bit of everything. Second favorite place to eat was pepe's, the bar b q was perfect when you want a quick bite by the pool. Only bad thing I really could say is this resort is not really wheelchair accessible.  [... read more] Elevators were pretty far away from eachother, not enough ramps, and no automatic doors (from what I can remember). Other than that I really dont have anything bad to say about this resort.

Beautiful Resort

Just returned on May 26, 2018. This was our 8th Mdxico vacation. The Riu Palace was by far the most luxurious resort.. The staff was very, very friendly. Food was amazing at a la cartes & the buffet.. Our room was very clean and spacious. We still can't explain the bath tub in the middle but??? Our only complaint was with the room balcony. We faced the sister Dunemar resort. The noise from the mechanical rooms made it impossible to sit outside. Very good and beautiful place

I really happy to went to Riu palace and l receievd Exellen serviece and perfect food and drink. Thanks RIU staff and front desk that help with friendly to every one. This place is quite and peacefull.clean and modern. I really enjoy of my vaction and is good also for family .

Great week at a beautiful resort!

We arrived back home on Sunday night. We had a great week! It is a beautiful resort and the grounds are so well maintained . The staff all seem to work so hard. The food in the buffet was great with lots of variety. We ate at the steakhouse once and enjoyed it. The only negative I found was one day the room wasn't cleaned, but the money that we left for the maid was gone. I went to the front desk and they were on it immediately. We both agree that we would return to the resort.

A Paradise you won’t want to leave!

We stayed at the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres from April 17-24 and we had an amazing time. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the resort was very clean and the food was delicious. There’s lots to do and you have full access to the resort next door for any reason you are not enjoying the entertainment. At night things close down fairly early but things are just getting started at the resort next door where you have full access to their nightclub and 24h bars. My only complaint was that t [... read more]he resort is pretty far from the hotel zone, meaning it’s about a 30min drive to most excursions, which means expensive cab rides if transportation isn’t provided. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. It was very difficult to leave this paradise!

Very good all inclusive

This is a new hotel by Riu chain. Very high level of service ( with smile) in all its functions. Food quality very high, cooking varies from good to excellent. Rooms well appointed, everything works. There is a stand-alone bathtub in the room, not sure why? Apparently a new fashion. We used a nice walk-in shower. This is an alcoholic heaven for those so inclined. Several bars serving a variety of good mixed drinks and a reasonable selection of imported brands. Around pools and on the beach a steady supply of drinks offered by service staff. It is fairly isolated. at the end of a long road, next to a sister Riu hotel. Nice beach but can be exposed to strong winds (depends on the season)

The best Riu Palace that I have been to

Hotel is great with a very friendly and helpful staff. Grounds are still undergoing growth and are large and clean.The beach is long with clean white sand and has a lot of coverage from the sun with hundreds of large palm trees.There are five pools which will satisfy any ones needs. Food was delicious no matter where you ate. One of the best Riu Palaces that I have been to. Will return in November.
