Catalonia Royal Tulum: Good

It’s fair the people were great food was good service and maintenance. Very poor had no water in the room. Maintenance was very, very slow to attend to the situation did not like the fact there was no buffet at night every day you were forced to book à la cards every night

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Nice but spa isn’t accommodating for pregnant women

Food: buffet is typical resort standard, a bit salty but decent. Steakhouse, Italian and BLoved were good. Teppanyaki was too salty to eat. Room: family swim up - very clean and spacious. Sturdiness of toilet was questionable (floating) but maintenance was quick to resolve. Huge downfall was that half the swim up rooms are completely shaded and ours unfortunately was one of them so water was cold and not comfortable to use. Nice kiddy pool and kid play place but negative is the park is only open during play place hours IF there’s a zero chance of rain so we weren’t able to use it. Service: absolutely amazing. Every single person from waitstaff to housekeepers, to maintenance workers, front desk- everyone was fantastic Main con: extremely disappointed in lack of accommodation for pregnant women. Couldn’t get a massage bc they didn’t have a pillow. Couldn’t do the hydro therapy - not bc of possible risk to pregnancy due to high temperatures, but bc the floors were wet and I might slip. Grip slippers could have been provided to resolve this but the only option was to “sit on the side and watch” my husband lol Additional: mosquitoes were the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Obviously out of their control. They fumigated one or two days after we arrived and we were able to enjoy 2 days mosquito free before they started to come back. Overall: nice resort if you’re looking for great beach, fantastic service , cleanliness and ok w it being very quiet and laid back especially great for little babies. (I have 3 & 1yr olds and would have appreciated more stuff for them to do but at the same time I appreciated how quiet it was - definitely not a party resort). Not worth the extra money for swim up if it’s not directly in the sun and privilege isnt worth it bc the only perk was one restaurant, an hour of hydrotherapy that you can’t use if you’re pregnant and beach chairs that aren’t much different from the other ones.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Catalonia Royal Bavaro

Gorgeous, clean, friendly, fun and relaxing. My husband and I vacationed here for our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was even more beautiful in person that what the pictures showed online. We had an amazing experience, and would gladly stay there again.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Tarascio family

Well the room fir privilege was ok not many amenities for members was expecting more. The closet doors are stiff and hard to open. The room needs renovating tiles in shower fall8ng apart. The shower was small and expecting a bigger one. More lighting in room. The light fixtures on the was and front hall way were not working. This last visit was our 15th time returning so VIP Member should of been granted.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Fantastic vacation

We loved our vacation. The food, room and staff were amazing. This was my second visit to the Catalonia Royal Tulum and it was as great as the first time. We upgraded to Privilege because of Beloved and other perks and it did not disappoint. I will booking this resort again very soon.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Amazing Eco Resort

We were very happy with this resort. We especially liked the size. We felt the resort was exceptionally clean. The staff are very friendly and professional. We liked that the resort was eco friendly. The food was good and they provided Gluten Free options.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Three star hotel not four

Rooms are very outdated, this hotel is focused on their privileged guests, regular rooms are awful. The room we stayed in was missing hairdryer, the fridge was filthy, ceiling was leaking. The room was not ready for guests, linens were dirty and it took 3 calls to front desk for housekeeping to come and change the bed sheets.

Beautiful Clean Average to above for food, but 3/4 of us became sick (1st time - we have been about 8 times) Good swim-up bar party pool Awesome quiet pool (Infinity), however, to look like a true infinity pool, the garden and sign need to be removed so that the pool looks like it goes into the ocean Great view of the beach while having breakfast at Be Loved (peanut butter toast is good, and so is the avocado toast) The privilege section is great with beds and an awesome waiter named Marco [... read more]s, who is very attentive The beach is not great as the water is murky and has seaweed, walk to the family area for a better swim (prefer the beach at Riu or Bahia, but prefer Catalonia resort itself) Like the small size of the resort (adult only), as you can walk anywhere - no need to take a trolley, unlike Bahia and Riu If you want more restaurants and parties, you can venture over to the family side Great atmosphere and drinks at the piano bar, plus a light-up robot costume performance one night I love sitting at the Thalassia restaurant after dinner with drinks, watching the poolside shows (circus acrobatics, Dominican music, karaoke, singing...). Beautiful lobby - great reception Great concierge for a la carte reservations Good porters Quick service to unlock the safe when an issue arises Good maid service, but missing face cloths at times, and the shower floor is not always washed (sand from the beach) Best meal was at Tao Cat (thai food) near the beach 2nd best meal at Rodeo Steak House

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Great vacation

We had great time from beginning to end. One annoying thing was over 1 hour wait in the van to be transported to the hotel. But on the way to the airport everything went smoothly. Hotel is amazing, more than expected, and everything to our taste. We loved beach, restaurants, hotel layout, our room , drinks , service… I would like to give one suggestion, there is huge rush every morning for spots in the shade , since beach in not huge , but it’s deep . The worst part is that some people that left their towels on the loungers don’t show up all day… Not really sure if hotel staff can do anything about this , but maybe they can offer regular beach umbrellas to us that don’t save spots . I’ve noticed separate areas for “travellers club “ members, Most of the time I haven’t seen more than few spots used, why they can’t adjust it according to guests number and give more space to regular guests? I hope these minor things are fixable, since everything else is just perfect. I am looking forward coming again, with few friends and family members

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Wonderful Staff

Just returned from a week at the Catalonia Playa Maroma. My friend and I had never been to this resort and wanted to try it since we know it's on a beautiful beach. The sargussum was bad but we still managed to get in the water. The food was really good at all the restaurants and buffet. Big shout out to the amazing staff...Adrian, Claudia, Gabriella, Daniel, and Matuselan..always ready to assist. My friend uses a cane and has difficulty walking long distances so we weren't able to walk [... read more] up to the lobby/buffet everyday so we ate at the a la carts. It was unfortunate that on the day we left there was no service available to pick us and our luggage up at our room before 7am.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Amazing food!

The food was unbelievable. It exceeded our expectations! We arrived in the morning and did not get into our room until 5:30pm, which was very inconvenient. When we did get in our room, our keys did not work for 2 days. Every time we needed to get into our room, we had to wait for staff to let us in. The first night this took them 45 minutes at the end of the day when we were exhausted. Eventually in the afternoon on night 2 they replaced the entire lock. In general we found the staff to be rude/unfriendly, which was surprising. We had never experienced that at a resort before. This was our first time in Jamaica, we were there as a group of 4. The water was great, the pool was nice, the food was amazing. However the staff and room situation was really disappointing.

Catalonia Yucatan: Great Resort!

I recently stayed at Catalonia Yucatán Beach during a solo vacation in Cancun, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable experience. The hotel itself has a charming, cozy vibe, and the atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming. The staff were absolutely amazing—always friendly, helpful, and kind. As a solo traveler, I ended up meeting a lot of great people, which really added to the enjoyment of my trip. However, I did run into a few issues during my stay. The rooms, while decent, felt [... read more] a bit dated. When I first checked in, there was a noticeable smell in the room, which was a bit off-putting. That said, the room service was excellent—they cleaned and set the room perfectly every day, which made a big difference. One of the bigger challenges was around the restaurant access. Catalonia Yucatán Beach shares facilities with Catalonia Riviera Maya, and it wasn’t always clear which restaurants we were allowed to go to. This led to some frustrating moments, especially since many of the friends I made were staying at the Riviera Maya side, and we often couldn’t dine together due to access restrictions. This lack of clarity and limitation definitely took away from the experience. Additionally, the Mexican restaurant on site wasn’t quite up to the mark in terms of food quality. Despite these issues, the people, atmosphere, and beautiful location made it a truly special trip. With a few improvements to the room quality and better communication around restaurant access, this hotel could be even better.

everything was very clean beautiful grounds The service was excellent and the beach spectacular. This was my third stay at Grand Catalonia. Drinks were great and restaurants were clean and not much waiting time for meals.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Favourite Resort!

We had a relaxing time at this resort, great food especially seafood options and the quiet beach areas, also very good service. The water in the beach area is shallow but it is beautiful to walk out and can swim still. The hotel experience is great, small intimate atmosphere with care taken when ordering special drinks. Upgraded to premium and liked the more modern room decor, new lamp, grey laminate flooring, white patio chairs. high standards for cleanliness and food prep no issues

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Nice Clean Resort

The resort is beautiful. The rooms are big and nice. The beach is great. The pools are good. However, the food could have been better. At times it was very bland and the only restaurant I really enjoyed was the Italian restaurant.

I didn’t like on how the supervisor sneaked in the room while my wife was in the bathroom, we both felt awkward about this supervisor walking in the room,other than that the staff were very friendly and polite, Denise was very friendly and kept our room clean

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Awesome place for rest and relaxation

I highly recommend this resort for anyone who is looking for a chill and relaxed resort in a tropical jungle like setting with great food and wonderful people who are always go that extra mile for your comfort. The food was great. We loved the food choices as we are both vegetarians, we had no issues as they had quite a variety. The beach was mostly windy, but we still enjoyed spending time in the ocean with the waves and at the pool. The spa is a must.. we went for a couples’ massage and loved  [... read more]it. Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Beautiful Resort!

This resort is immaculately maintained and is picture perfect to look at but the staff make it even better to stay at. The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask and the staff make it their mission to accommodate you with a smile on their faces. The help desk is very helpful, the wait staff are always smiling and singing. The bar tenders will make you a myriad of drinks.
