JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Amazing Anniversary Vacation:)

Check in was smooth. Concierge brought us to an area to make dinner reservations. We arrived on a Thursday and were able to make reservations until Sunday. We were told the remaining reservations could be made through our butler, which we did on Saturday! The dinner buffet at the Grand is not open every night but they're able to tell you when it's open/closed so we enjoyed the buffet the nights it was open and ate in the a la carte's the other nights! The concierge explains that there's 170+ [... read more] Iberostar's across the globe and invited us to a breakfast. We understood this was a time share presentation and politely declined. It wasn't an issue and we were brought to the bell hop to get our bags and be escorted to our room. One of our butlers, Jaime, met us at the room and gave us a full tour and set us up with WhatsApp for the butlers. Every morning the morning butler introduced themselves with an itinerary of what restaurants were open, entertainment etc. via WhatsApp. The butlers checked in several times a day by both WhatsApp and in person! Our butlers were all fantastic: Taneil, Romell, Ralston, Travis & Jaime Iberostar has an app which we utilized to find out what activities were going on (aquafit, classes at the gym etc.). We ordered room service for breakfast twice and it was quick, accurate and delicious. We didn't have an issue getting reservations; we had a few 8pm/9pm reservation nights, but we rolled with it! We took the opportunity to hang out on our huge balcony early evening, order cheese/crackers, hummus etc. from room service, make a drink (room is fitted with customized mini bar and 2 bottles of your choice of liquor) and enjoy the tranquility of the space! There was amazing selection at all restaurants. I'm a vegetarian where my husband is not. We were both able to find amazing food choices; I can honestly say, the Iberostar does a fantastic job of offering a well-rounded menu at both the buffets and a la carte's. We participated in lots of activities; paddleboard yoga, aquafit, arts and crafts, kayaking, snorkeling etc. We went to the gym, played pickleball and walked the beach! We checked out the Iberostar Suites next door; enjoyed their lobby entertainment, a show in their theatre and buffet one evening. The lobby bar at the Grand was great; we spent a lot of evenings there before/after shows. Cassandra was an amazing hostess! The shows were enjoyable both in the theatre, on the beach and at the pool area. The Iberostar Resorts are on a public beach so there are vendors. It was a smidge annoying but honestly, not nearly as bad as I expected given reviews I'd read. I found the vendors in Dominican Republic on Bavaro Beach as well as in Nassau, Bahamas, much, much worse than this. A 'no thanks' worked, not to say the same vendor wouldn't ask you again in an hour, but again, a 'no thanks' and they were on their way. We had a fantastic vacation and would gladly recommend this resort to friends and family.

Couples Tower Isle: Awesome resort!

This is an older resort, but beautiful! It’s a small private beach, but there plenty of room for everyone! The food is fantastic! There is always something to do, even if there’s a red flag day, which means no water sports, or boat to the au natural island. This was not an issue for us, as we didn’t want to go to the island. We loved this place and my wife and I WILL be back!!! 🤙🇯🇲❤️

Riu Negril: Resort was average, beach was clean but food whole different story

We go to Caribbean a few times a year and we always go with open mind. Our agent Martine Reid always give us good advise about the resorts and places to go to and to avoid. To begin with we had to wait at the airport in the bus for almost two hours waiting for a couple who was not even coming to our resort. Instead of making different arrangement for one couple Sunwing made the whole bus full of passengers suffer for so long. Resort was average, clean, beach was kept well, service was very good, friendly staff. This was not our first trip to Jamaica and we always enjoyed Jamaican food. But this resort had bad food. These was so called touch of Jamaica but I tell you it was just a say. We could not even keep the food down.

Riu Ocho Rios: Riu Ocho Rios

This was the best resort I’ve ever been, absolutely beautiful! First time in Jamaica and we loved it🇯🇲 From the food to the beach, the room, the staff everything was amazing, we shall return as soon as possible 😁

Ocean Eden Bay: Beautiful resorts

Amazing hotel. Would like to go back to this resorts. Love the different kinds of food. The entire staffs are very friendly and very helpful. The program in the morning like water exercise and the dancing. Love the music it makes you feel dancing from hearing it.

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Fantastic Vacation!!

We had read, from other sources, bad reviews but we were very happy with our stay. The staff were wonderful, rooms clean and well supplied. The cottages were perfect! The food was not gourmet but I wasn’t expecting that and we always had plenty to eat and drink. I would say that this resort is more for the 55+ crowd. It seemed as the entertainment crew had a bit of a hard time getting anyone to participate. I found the evening entertainment quite good especially the steel drum band.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great Time

The Hotel is huge and things are spread out, which took a couple of days to get used to, we were on the Luxury adult only side had a separate gym which was lovely, had butler service so that we could get fresh coffee when we woke up, The pools were super nice, beach was nice and relaxing, even though it is very shallow, so not ideal if you like to swim, found the Service was good as a whole some better than others, always clean rooms etc, definitely reccomend the resort, I would go again for sur [... read more]e, only negative was that they did not have any non alcoholic beer, but probably all of these resorts would be the same story, as people normally go and enjoy their beverages.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach

Enjoyed our vacation to Jamaica and our stay at the Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach Resort. This is one of two properties in the Royal Decameron family. Both are next door to each other and share all amenities. The Cornwall Beach property being the newest one. Nice small hotel, close to airport and beach. Rooms are ocean view, have a small fridge, tv, balcony, safe, but no dresser to put clothes in. They do have a closet to hang clothes also an iron/board. One thing that we didn’t like was that if you wanted a lounge chair on the beach you need to get up early and place your towels there! Beach is beautiful and the water is clear! One buffet restaurant on property, lots of food choices, coffee bar and lobby bar. One alacarte restaurant that you need to book the day of and line up for by 9am. No Covid restriction. Some staff wear masks, but at their discretion. Yes, we would return.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Amazing resort

Excellent food and house keeping services. We were only there for a few days but the stay was very relaxing. The resort store had everything we needed and even went out of their way to locate a phone charger from another resort when I needed a new one. The house keeping staff did an amazing job in the rooms and the meals were excellent

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Large & Beautiful Resort

We stayed for 7 nights as a group of 30 for our wedding. Majority of us were at the Grand with some at the suites. The resort is huge! There are 2 buildings for each resort (beaches, suites and grand) making it a long walk between if you have people in the different resorts. The only meals we didn't e [... read more]njoy as much was our Welcome dinner and Wedding dinners. We were a meat heavy group so cooking 25 steaks at the same time wasn't something they were used to. But all other meals were great, loads of selection everywhere you went. I had steak 2-3 other times and they were cooked to perfection! Butler service was amazing, coffee and mimosas delivered to our room at a set time daily! They use WhatsApp to communicate so make sure you download this app before going as there is free wifi everywhere! The beach was ok, Cuba beaches are nicer than Montego Bay. We didn't spend as much time at the beach as we were with a group, but if you like the beach vs the pool, they are not white sandy beaches. Overall, we would go back, but we typically don't repeat resorts so would likely explore another area of Jamaica instead!

Ocean Coral Spring: great resort for young families

The hotel is clean and the grounds are well kept. Our room was large, bright and cleaned daily. We enjoyed the a la carte restaurants. The Japanese restaurant is loud so avoid if you don't appreciate the loud clank of metal spatulas used as drum sticks continuously at 3 or 4 different tables at the same time. The pool is large and clean and well serviced with several Bars in and around it. It is hard to get chairs poolside. The beach is small and hard to navigate due to shallow coral in the swimming area as well as rocks in most areas. The privilege beach is nicer and has a larger sandy area. Beach volleyball court is great. We did not use basketball court or tennis courts as they are far off at the front of the hotel. The privilege upgrade is great because it gets you access to a butler to book your restaurants which is super convenient. Most enjoyable for our family was the waterpark especially for kids under 10. They loved it and spent hours there every day. Of course the Jerk Chicken is hot and delicious!

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Bus ride , to resort and hotel

We arrived at airport at 3:30 , we left airport on bus at 5:45 , bus broke down . Arrival at resort 9 pm My first impression , no flowers to wow hotel front entrance on arrival. First impression is the best . We were greeted with a punch with rum in an orange juice glass. Perhaps a champagne glass would have been more impressive. The resort beautiful , rooms beautiful . Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great vacation

Jamaica has always been on my bucket list, and this resort certainly did not disappoint. The food was amazing, always a different selection in the Buffet, awesome people & bars. Special shout out to Nicola & Abel from the entertainment. Romario & Colin were the best bartenders. Always making amazing drinks with a lot of fun & smiles. The jerk chicken lunch bar on the beach was delicious. My room was kept very clean, a big thank you to Shanita. The small fridge was re-stocked daily. Royalton Hideaway Negril: Luxury Redefined

the Hideaway at the Royalton was luxurious. They seem to get it all right. Their food, drinks and accommodations are top notch. Management makes a point to mingle among the guests for your feedback. Adults only side has smaller beaches however you can wander to the family side should you like. I can’t wait to go back.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great Resort!

The Resort is well laid out, excellent services and even more attentive staff. If you have high expectations for a 5 star resort, this is the place to go. Room was clean, no maintenance issues, cleaners were helpful and ready to help with any cleaning request. The beach is really great, there are lots of palm trees to relax under, the beach waiters are hard working and are quick to make sure your enjoying yourself. All in all this is a place I would go back to.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Clean resort and great for kids!

Was nervous about the negative reviews about the hotel - yes the resort does need upgrades in the halls, elevators and rooms but our stay was 10/10. Great weather (no bugs at night), good food (you go there for the Jamaican food), amazing activities for the kids, amazing staff and very well maintained grounds (there were always crew power washing walls or floors). Make sure you download the app so you can always be in the know of events for the time you're there!

Catalonia Montego Bay: Outdated and it shows

The only two good things I can say about this resort are that it had a pretty ok beach and the food was not the worst I have ever had at an all inclusive. The pool, entertainment, tennis court, mini golf, service and rooms were horrible. I would not go back to this resort.

Ocean Eden Bay: Poorly Managed, Not a 5 Star Resort

This could be a great resort if it were managed better. It took 2 1/2 hrs to check in because they didn’t give us the rooms that we requested months ago. The beach is the worst that I’ve ever been to. They are way too rocky. It took 3 days to find a way in to avoid rocks and not fall. One in, the water was great! They are short staffed and the service and food was horrible at a few of the restaurants. Other restaurants were amazing. All of the staff were amazing though. There are no [... read more] Covid protocols and both my husband and myself got Covid at the end of the vacation. They don’t provide Kleenex at this resort so I had to use toilet paper with my endlessly running nose. They had supply issues with the beer and was out of the Jamaican beer, Red Stripe for most of the week, but they had tiny cans of Dominican beer that everyone was hoarding. The wait times for dinner was ridiculous at most of the ala carte restaurants. The Japanese restaurant was absolutely the worst experience ever! The overhead fan was broken, and the grill in front of us had burnt food all over it that they should have had the common sense to clean before seating 20 people around the table. They had a crew of what appeared to be new hires trying to clean it with various things, and they were scrubbing it while all 20 of us sat around the table choking on the chemical smoke coming off the grill. This was from the green chemical cleaner they were using to clean it, mixed with the black soot from burnt food. They didn’t even rinse it off afterwards. One women near us ran to the ladies room to vomit! There also were several leftover half empty plates of sushi sitting out on the side of the grill from the previous customers. After they took our sushi order, they took these leftovers back to the kitchen. At that point I have no doubt that they just put it on new plates and handed out to us! Needless to say, we didn’t touch it. After they “attempted” to clean the grill, they dumped a huge pile of chicken on the grill and it smelled absolutely awful!! Soon after, they dumped a huge pile of beef on the same grill, and it was equally disgusting smelling!! There is no way that was fresh meat!! Then, they poured a huge pile of white rice on the grill right in front of us, and started flipping it around. All of the black burnt bits from the grill got mixed into it! It was so disgusting. That was the last straw. We walked out after sitting there for over an hour waiting to be served. Not even a drink was served! As soon as we got up, a chef came running over to us to get us to stay. That wasn’t going to happen!! The buffets were smaller than what we are accustomed to, but they were surprisingly amazing for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. The daily and nightly entertainment was ok. We did look forward to the white party, but that was a joke. Half the people wore normal coloured clothing and they were just playing ridiculous embarrassing games. They didn’t advertise about the beach party, the foam party or the steel drum music so we missed it all. I had to beg for a “do not disturb” sign for our door and it took 3 days to get it, only to be stolen a few days later. Had to beg for another one. The staff just walk right in after one knock. They came into our friend’s room one night and startled them. The lifeguards were few and far between at the beach. They were more busy wandering around having conversations with people on the beach instead of watching the people in the water. On a windy rough day, someone needed to be rescued in the ocean, but thankfully a person on the beach saw this and had to get the lifeguard to go help. It’s a blessing that this random person was paying attention. The lifeguard had to go find a lifesaver before going in the water to save the struggling person who was drowning. That is completely unacceptable! My favourite thing about this resort was the layout of the Marketplace. That has the best layout of any resort we’ve been to. I could keep going on, but you get the idea. Definitely not a 5 star resort at all, but it could be with better management.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Amazing Resort

We stayed at The Jewell Paradise Cove from Feb 25 to March 11 2023. We have travelled for over 15 years and this is the best resort we have ever stayed at. The food was unbelievable, if you cannot find something delicious to eat then you should stay home. The chefs prepared the best chicken and curry dishes everyday. The beach is calm and clean, I did miss the ocean waves to play in but not enough to change my mind about this resort. The water sports were available and the staff were so helpful. I highly recommend this resort.to any adult that wants sun, heat, relaxation and appreciates such wonderful staff.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great vacation

This hotel is an older hotel. It was perfect for the type of vacation we were on. It is for all types of travellers, I never felt crowded. We always had a nice place to hang out and never fought for beach chairs. The food was OK but we did not make it to the à la carte restaurants, heard they were good. Close to the grocery, pharmacy and bank. Management was great, service is good, better with tips. Would go back for another trip here someday.
