Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Bus ride , to resort and hotel

We arrived at airport at 3:30 , we left airport on bus at 5:45 , bus broke down . Arrival at resort 9 pm My first impression , no flowers to wow hotel front entrance on arrival. First impression is the best . We were greeted with a punch with rum in an orange juice glass. Perhaps a champagne glass would have been more impressive. The resort beautiful , rooms beautiful . Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great vacation

Jamaica has always been on my bucket list, and this resort certainly did not disappoint. The food was amazing, always a different selection in the Buffet, awesome people & bars. Special shout out to Nicola & Abel from the entertainment. Romario & Colin were the best bartenders. Always making amazing drinks with a lot of fun & smiles. Royalton Hideaway Negril: Luxury Redefined

the Hideaway at the Royalton was luxurious. They seem to get it all right. Their food, drinks and accommodations are top notch. Management makes a point to mingle among the guests for your feedback. Adults only side has smaller beaches however you can wander to the family side should you like. I can’t wait to go back.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great Resort!

The Resort is well laid out, excellent services and even more attentive staff. If you have high expectations for a 5 star resort, this is the place to go. Room was clean, no maintenance issues, cleaners were helpful and ready to help with any cleaning request. The beach is really great, there are lots of palm trees to relax under, the beach waiters are hard working and are quick to make sure your enjoying yourself. All in all this is a place I would go back to.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Clean resort and great for kids!

Was nervous about the negative reviews about the hotel - yes the resort does need upgrades in the halls, elevators and rooms but our stay was 10/10. Great weather (no bugs at night), good food (you go there for the Jamaican food), amazing activities for the kids, amazing staff and very well maintained grounds (there were always crew power washing walls or floors). Make sure you download the app so you can always be in the know of events for the time you're there!

Catalonia Montego Bay: Outdated and it shows

The only two good things I can say about this resort are that it had a pretty ok beach and the food was not the worst I have ever had at an all inclusive. The pool, entertainment, tennis court, mini golf, service and rooms were horrible. I would not go back to this resort.

Ocean Eden Bay: Poorly Managed, Not a 5 Star Resort

This could be a great resort if it were managed better. It took 2 1/2 hrs to check in because they didn’t give us the rooms that we requested months ago. The beach is the worst that I’ve ever been to. They are way too rocky. It took 3 days to find a way in to avoid rocks and not fall. One in, the water was great! There are no [... read more] Covid protocols and both my husband and myself got Covid at the end of the vacation. They don’t provide Kleenex at this resort so I had to use toilet paper with my endlessly running nose. They had supply issues with the beer and was out of the Jamaican beer, Red Stripe for most of the week, but they had tiny cans of Dominican beer that everyone was hoarding. The wait times for dinner was ridiculous at most of the ala carte restaurants. The Japanese restaurant was absolutely the worst experience ever! The overhead fan was broken, and the grill in front of us had burnt food all over it that they should have had the common sense to clean before seating 20 people around the table. They had a crew of what appeared to be new hires trying to clean it with various things, and they were scrubbing it while all 20 of us sat around the table choking on the chemical smoke coming off the grill. This was from the green chemical cleaner they were using to clean it, mixed with the black soot from burnt food. They didn’t even rinse it off afterwards. One women near us ran to the ladies room to vomit! There also were several leftover half empty plates of sushi sitting out on the side of the grill from the previous customers. After they took our sushi order, they took these leftovers back to the kitchen. At that point I have no doubt that they just put it on new plates and handed out to us! Needless to say, we didn’t touch it. After they “attempted” to clean the grill, they dumped a huge pile of chicken on the grill and it smelled absolutely awful!! Soon after, they dumped a huge pile of beef on the same grill, and it was equally disgusting smelling!! There is no way that was fresh meat!! Then, they poured a huge pile of white rice on the grill right in front of us, and started flipping it around. All of the black burnt bits from the grill got mixed into it! It was so disgusting. That was the last straw. We walked out after sitting there for over an hour waiting to be served. Not even a drink was served! As soon as we got up, a chef came running over to us to get us to stay. That wasn’t going to happen!! The buffets were smaller than what we are accustomed to, but they were surprisingly amazing for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. The daily and nightly entertainment was ok. We did look forward to the white party, but that was a joke. Half the people wore normal coloured clothing and they were just playing ridiculous embarrassing games. They didn’t advertise about the beach party, the foam party or the steel drum music so we missed it all. I had to beg for a “do not disturb” sign for our door and it took 3 days to get it, only to be stolen a few days later. Had to beg for another one. The staff just walk right in after one knock. They came into our friend’s room one night and startled them. The lifeguards were few and far between at the beach. They were more busy wandering around having conversations with people on the beach instead of watching the people in the water. On a windy rough day, someone needed to be rescued in the ocean, but thankfully a person on the beach saw this and had to get the lifeguard to go help. It’s a blessing that this random person was paying attention. The lifeguard had to go find a lifesaver before going in the water to save the struggling person who was drowning. That is completely unacceptable! My favourite thing about this resort was the layout of the Marketplace. That has the best layout of any resort we’ve been to. I could keep going on, but you get the idea. Definitely not a 5 star resort at all, but it could be with better management.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Amazing Resort

We stayed at The Jewell Paradise Cove from Feb 25 to March 11 2023. We have travelled for over 15 years and this is the best resort we have ever stayed at. The food was unbelievable, if you cannot find something delicious to eat then you should stay home. The chefs prepared the best chicken and curry dishes everyday. The beach is calm and clean, I did miss the ocean waves to play in but not enough to change my mind about this resort. The water sports were available and the staff were so helpful. I highly recommend this resort.to any adult that wants sun, heat, relaxation and appreciates such wonderful staff.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great vacation

This hotel is an older hotel. It was perfect for the type of vacation we were on. It is for all types of travellers, I never felt crowded. We always had a nice place to hang out and never fought for beach chairs. The food was OK but we did not make it to the à la carte restaurants, heard they were good. Close to the grocery, pharmacy and bank. Management was great, service is good, better with tips. Would go back for another trip here someday.

Big property that does many things well. Stayed there 15 years ago when it was near nee and the elevator did not work. 16 years latter now and the elevator serving building 23 did not work. It has at least doubled in size since the original stay. It is one of they few hotels of this size that does not provide a map to the room(many other guests were wandering around trying to either find their way to their room or back to their room. The beach bar ran out of frozen drinks the first hour on the beach (and many of the bars had the same issue). They put a lot of time and effort trying to sell you a “privilege “ club membership to get the treatment you should already get as a guest. They had many poll areas you couldn’t go to without the 25k membership. And no clear idea where it started and stopped in the pool area. Weather was great a lot of good staff just too bad they seem to think the quest to suck people into the expensive club was their focus

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Terrible Hotel and terrible service by Sunwing

First my experience booking with Tripcentral and Sunwing. I was not aware that Sunwing no longer allowed carry on baggage so right away this would have been a deal breaker for me. I had to pay additional fees to bring my carry on with me on the plane. Then there was a price drop and it was honored so this is strike #2. The service on the plane was terrible. Our flight was also 1 hour late leaving Toronto. Then we finally arrive in Montego Bay, first we waited for 2 hours on the bus at the Montego Airport before being transported to the hotel so right away this was not starting off on the right foot. Why am I waiting 2 hours? I didn't pay to be sitting on a bus. I paid to be at the hotel enjoying the hotel services. Now we finally get to the hotel and check in. It is dark and we are starving. This hotel rooms are a disgrace. The drawers are either stuck or don't open, the closet doors don't slide, there is no door handle for the sliding door to go out side. Our toilet didn't flush and we had to have maintenance fix it. Our room was only cleaned 1/2 of the time during the entire week and only got fresh towels half of the time. Our mini fridge and coffee was not replenished at all the entire week. I used some the first day and never had anymore the rest of the week. One day my husband got locked in the bathroom and couldn't get out. I'm pulling from the outside and he's pushing from the inside. Finally we got the door to open. We had no hot water for the first 2 days and no water pressure at all all week. I couldn't even wash the shampoo out of my hair since there was no pressure. When using the bathrooms around the resort there was never any toilet paper, soap or paper towels it was a nightmare and they were always dirty with water all over the floor wasn't sure it was water or pee. On our way back we ended up hiring a private car service to take us back to the airport for $70 since I was not getting back on the Sunwing bus. There was so many other things that were unsatisfactory but I could go on all day. A friend of mine didn't even get clean sheets. There was blood on her pillow case. You complain and no one cares. I will be posting bad reviews all over the internet and I will never return back to your hotel or another Royalton anywhere in the world. I will never book with Trip Central, Sunwing or go to this hotel again. I will be posting many reviews all over the internet on how horrible it was.

Ocean Coral Spring: Beautiful resort; halal food options available

This was a beautiful hotel; clean grounds and modern rooms. Everything was easily accessible. Room number 1426 is pool and Oceanview. Buffet food was OK but restaurant food (Thali, Sakura and the Italian restaurant) was absolutely delicious. If you have dietary restrictions i.e. can eat halal food only, please speak to their food and beverage manager. He will accommodate for all meals. We will never forget this experience and will definitely be back.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Not a 5 or 4 Star

Service left a lot to be desired. No towels or enough chairs on the beach, mini bar in room not replenished without calling room service, shortage of rum at the bars. Lack of quality entertainment. Long lines and long wait times for tables to be set at buffets. Not enough choices in a la carte restaurants, eg no steak restaurant, and food at buffets lacked variety - the same stuff each day.

Riu Reggae: Fabulous Experience!

We loved the Rui Reggae! We had a fabulous experience. The resort was beyond clean, whether it was our room, the bars or the restaurants there was no difference always clean. Staff was so friendly and we felt very safe either in the hotel or walking along the beach to the Rui Montego Bay! We would definitely recommend this resort.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Pleasant place to visit

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport which is a perfect location. The Beach resort is one of 3 resorts on the Iberostar complex. The staff were friendly and courteous. The beach was nice. Large pools with some activities offered. Food and service was good at all restaurants except the Smokehouse. Vendors on the beach were monitored by security. Fresh coffee at the bar was great. Night time entertainment offered but the best performer was the Country Jamaican Singer, Billy Lee Neal- gr [... read more]eat voice ! ( Sang nonstop for 90 minutes!) Hotel could use some updating but it was decent.

Ocean Eden Bay: Good but not great

The resort is beautiful, of course, its Jamaica after all! But we did come across a few things we didn't enjoy. The housekeeping department was struggling and I get it, the whole world is understaffed but with a 5 star rating its time to figure that out. We were an hour late even getting a room and even then I think we only got it because we were getting upset (had been traveling since 2am, emotions were high) Room was nice, clean but had to continually ask for basic needs, hangers (only 2 in  [... read more]the room) tissues (you know, Kleenex) which we never did get, a second face cloth and hand towel, there were two of us! And, we had to ask for these items several times before we actually got them and then it was only because my travel buddy made friends with the maintenance guy (who had to fix our in room safe). There were a few other small things we asked for and never did get but were minor. Like I said, housekeeping staff were struggling. Another thing we didn't like was the temperature of the pool. It was cold!! We noticed on the first day that there wasn't many people in the pool and we quickly found out why! However, the ocean water was lovely and the pool at the attached resort was nice temperature wise as well. The good stuff: Beach was nice Restaurants and buffets were good, especially the La Locanda, Italian restaurant at the attached resort (Ocean Coral Spring) Spa was lovely though I didn't have any services I used the hydro therapy pools a few time. No charge to use which was nice. We saw two shows while there and both were great as was the nightly live band. Service at the bars and tables was good and staff were generally friendly though don't expect a ton of booze in your mixed drinks! Some other staff here and there were downright unhelpful but never rude, just sort of unsure of their jobs maybe. All in all, a pretty good all inclusive.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Amazing Resort

This was our first time in Jamaica and absolutely loved this resort! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The pools and beaches are beautiful and clean. Food was great, something for everyone. We had no problems getting into any of the restaurants for our meals. The many bars were all well stocked and staff were generous with their pours! Our Concierge Jermaine was fabulous - so helpful in every way, he was always available when we needed him. We highly recommend the Grand Palladium!

Rooms on the Beach Negril: Disappointing stay

Not impressed. These are the major issues, there are more but not enough space: Couldn’t open the door to first room given, used a key not a card, deadbolt broken. Paid for garden view Kingsize bed, got a double and twin bed. Room catégories not same as website. Inquired about upgrade to beach view, was told the resort was full, saw empty rooms during our entire stay. No follow up from staff. Requested fridge before arriving, had to pay $8US per day upfront before installed. In room safe requ [... read more]ired padlock.No coffee maker. No blankets, took 3 days to get 2 blankets. Room was cleaned twice in 10 days. Took a full day to get toilet paper. Cold water in sink non functional, shower had no faucet, no (limited) hot water or pressure. Hard to see image on TV. Restaurant closed at 3pm. Was given a lot of excuses but no action to accommodate. Beach littered with cigarette butts.

Riu Montego Bay: Great place

We were a group of 17 and we had a wonderful time. There was always lots to keep us busy. Thr food was amazing and the drinks were always delicious. The entertainment staff went above and beyond every day.

Ocean Eden Bay: Nice resort

The grounds were nice with a good beach. They have good entertainment and the restaurants are great except Route 66. The food there was awful! The check in was challenging as the room was not ready with no apology for it. The cleaning staff frequently did not supply the room properly and items requested, ie facial tissue and a blanket were not supplied even after several requests. Overall I would rate my experience a 7 out of 10.
