Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Not as advertised

This may have been a 41/2 star hotel at one time. No longer. There was plenty of food and plenty to drink for those who want it. The staff was polite and helpful. While everything was clean the hotel is starting to show its age. The desk tops in the room were beaten up and could use a coat of paint. While we enjoy having a spring filled mattress we prefer not to feel the springs. Chairs in the bar could use a recovering since the threadbare patches are showing. While they advertise Wifi [... read more] at a reasonable price, about 1/2 the people could not get connected even with the long and determined help from the Wifi agents.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Ocean Blue & Sand Resort vacation 2020

Our family decide it to go to this hotel base upon recommendation, this vacation was amazing, there was good variety in foods and hotels, the meats were amazing and the service at each restaurant was unparalleled. In terms of food and restaurants I loved everything. The activities was great for everyone and the kids all had a blast, from bowling to rock climbing we tried it all and again I cant say anything bad about it. I'd like to talk about the shows, normally I dislike going to shows but the Micheal jackson show was on another level and I truly think everyone should try to see it. The other shows were great too but the most memorable is the micheal Jackson show. Lastly I'll mention the dislikes, the only real criticism is the cart that goes around the resort, I think you guys should have at least 2 trains going on at all times to move people around quicker. Maybe we were just unlucky and always happened to be at the opposite side of the resort but it's the only real complaint I have.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort to stay at!

We booked this resort with privilege and had an amazing time. Our butler Guillermo took care of everything for us and really made our trip extra special. So many pools and bars and restaurants. Will be back

Ocean Coral by H10: Decent resort

I had big hopes for this resort after reading so many great reviews. It was a good resort, but not amazing. The good: the rooms were nice. Our room even had a dehumidifier which was nice since the floors get slippery with the humidity. The staff are all very friendly and most speak good English making it easy to order Very close to the airport which is great after a long day of traveling. The bad: The food is mediocre at best. They rarely had nacho chips out for pico de gallo a [... read more]nd guac at the buffets and the only good a la carte was the Japanese Service is on the slower side, especially if you couldn't get a chair at the adults only pool It's hard to get a chair at the adults only pool unless you're up very early Overall I enjoyed my stay, but I would rather spend a little more and stay somewhere a bit better

Ocean El Faro: Amazing Resort

Hotel was beautiful, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating to our large group of 19 Zero problems with getting reservations for our large group at any of the 6 restaurants. Food and service was great at all the restaurants and pool bars. No issues at all with this resort Would highly recommend Rooms were very spacious

Ocean El Faro: Just okay. Liked the weather better than the resort...

Our stay was pretty good. - rainshower looked great but the floors in both rooms we stayed in were not tiled correctly and the water went all over the bathroom, into the hall and out the front door, instead of flowing to the shower drain. - When we mentioned about the shower in the first room, they told us they were moving us to a 2 bed room. Instead they took us to the same floorplan we had (1 bed, 1 sofa bed). The move wasnt about the beds, it was about the water everywhere! Yet they thoug [... read more]ht they were doing a great favour by "upgrading" us to a 2 bed room. - Atleast 1 restaurant was closed each night and the ones that were open had waiting lists even tho the restaurants werent full! - the ice cream parlour wasnt that exciting. Usually served in bowls, no cones/sauces offered. - we told the front desk that drain in the tub and one of the sinks didnt work but they never did anything about it. - food was just okay. We thought the Steakhouse would offer a number of meats but unfortunately they dont and the tbone was far too difficult to cut. Very disappointing! - a waiter poured 2 different kinds of red wine into the same glass - the snack bar food was always overcooked - not enough floats in the lazy river - too many vendors during the day and at night. It made the teens uncomfortable to walk in certain areas. - limited room service menu. - the sports bar had a pool table but there were 2 cues and both had broken tips! - staff was okay. Not very friendly, just did their jobs. - in 1 room the mini bar had small / sample size bottles of alcohol and 2 beers, the 2nd room had 2 beers. - their standards were never the same. Some times desserts looked great, other times just the brownie, no sauce, etc. - no facecloths. - I had a cream / white dress overcoat that I took to restaurants at night just incase it was chilly. Unfortunately the maid must have took it when she was removing sheets / towels because it went missing. I notified lost and found but to no avail... - the upside: the weather was beautiful and the resort is lovely to look at. The pools were always clean. The air conditioning worked. I must state that I work in the hospitality field and look at standards were ever I go. So these items seem minor but they do add up. Especially when I paid a fair amount of money for this trip.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Lousy food

The hotel was nice the beach and pool were nice the food was terrible when we got to our room there was no water or coffee and the mini bar was empty we did not get water coffee beer till six pm the next day we will never go back

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nice and very loving resort

Its a very clean and nice small resort with lots of activists and fun ..and very beautiful beach plus the snack bar has a very good chicken and fish bbq.the only Thing that I was not satisfied was the shower, we had a third floor ocean view room and the water pressure was almost nothing . The food wasn’t the best you would most likely will find something you will like. Ocean El Faro: Amazing resort

The entire place was excellent. All restaurants had very good food with great service. We would definitely return to Ocean El Faro. The only thing was it would have been nice to have the bowling alley and sports bar open earlier. They didn’t open until 3

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Quite a Fun Resort

This Hotel has it all mostly. Great service and staff and good food. Good choice of restaurants although the Mexican bfast and lunch is not open on a regular basis. the Japanese restaurant is quite popular and people wait in long lines to book a dinner time. There is good entertainment, teen room, tennis and batting courts. The rooms are quite spacious and one big benefit is no mosquitoes when we were there. There are a good number of swimming pools. I love that there is guy who makes crepes n [... read more]ear one of the pools for a good part of the day. The beach side restaurant is also pretty good. My only point about the resort which is quite long and has a shuttle service too is the Beach. There are a lot of small rocks and when the waves come in, they really hurt and hit hard which can be quite painful. My advice would be to dredge the beach area to ensure there is soft sand only instead of the small pebbles and rocks that keep making it very inconvenient to walk around.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: great staff and nice hotel

this hotel is big and nice, the staff is great the pools are nice and clean. There is some problems with the hotel cleaning staff need to learn how to clean the rooms properly, not enough chairs anywhere in the resort at the beach loads of pagottas but no chairs to sit in, not enough chairs at the beach. We went for New Years spent a lot of money which I can say was not really worth it. Ocean Maya Royale: Consistent

We have been here three times in the last 18 months. Food and drinks are great. The only thing better is the staff. The 4 restaurants and buffet will not leave you wanting. The beach is clean and seaweed free most days. Will return again.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great hotel - too many people!

Stayed @ Casa Del Mar for 7 days for NewYear 2019. Needs a bit of tlc but overall, we were very satisfied (as per Cuba standards). Grounds were impeccable and room was clean and absolutely no mouldy smell (as requested, we were on the 3rd floor). The biggest complain is that because the hotel was fully booked, line ups (buffet, reservation, front desk, etc...) were awful... 30 minutes for an omelet isn't acceptable; even for Cuba standards. Food... could always find something but no variety and few fruits and fresh veggies however, excellent lobster dinner on NewYearsEve and restaurants were much better. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Playa Vista Azul: Cuba For NYE

Wonderful trip for 12 to Ocean Vista Azul, Varadero, for fun in the sun with family and friends, old and new. Great hotel (loved the beautiful ocean view suite), great flight from Hamilton International and great support from Linda at TripCentral. Grateful to all and for the great weather.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful Resort!

This was our first time to the Mayan Riviera. We were absolutely amazed with the quality of this resort! Everything is exactly as the photos show and More! The rooms were spacious, we had a swim-up suite in the Eden Building close to the beach which was fantastic! Food was absolutely amazing! Buffet was better than many places we have been with so much to choose from, excellent quality and presentation. The a lacarte restaurants were good...our fave was the steak house. We had a minor issue with the Air Conditioner temperature control, 15 minutes after we called, it was fixed! The activities crew and entertainment is great! Bartenders overall were super friendly and attentive, room cleaning was very good as well. No issue finding something to do here! We wish we had booked a longer trip!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Fabulous resort!

The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was top notch. They were very proud of the resort and rightfully so. The food was good, the pools amazing, and service outstanding. Our rooms were clean and spacious, with a large balcony.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good: The beach is beautiful. Crystal clear water and powder white sand. There are many lovely staff at the resort who are helpful and hardworking. The lobby is nice and Mike's Coffee is great! There are classic cars willing to take you around and a flea market in walking distance. The evening shows are entertaining The Bad: Cuba has gotten worse in regards to resources and imports. The Ugly: The resort overbooked and there were never any chairs at the beach or pool. We had to lay on the ground. The buffet was like the Hunger Games as people lined up and ran for the food. We had an issue with cockroaches in our room, no water bottles, dirty towels and my ring went missing. We both got ill and even after begging for a change and getting an upgrade, none of our issues were actually resolved. I'm so disappointed in this vacation and I'm never one to complain. This is not a 4.5 star. I've been to many all inclusives. This is 3 star at best

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Absolutely no hesitation going back

For those of you that have been to Cuba, the constant complaints are food. This is not the case with this hotel. Now I should point out that we stayed one week at the hotel from December 26 – January 2. We had two rooms and people per room. Being that this was peak, there where lines for the egg station, pancake station and waffle station. At lunch and diner, we also had lines. But why the rush? You are on vacation. In addition, for lunch you could also eat at the beach. One beach bar  [... read more]offered Paella with whole BBQ fish, the other offered Chicken, pork and fried fish. Both where excellent. The staff was great. They really worked hard to keep you happy. The rooms where clean. The location is private; no vendors on the beach. The entertainment was fantastic. They could improve on the number of beach and pool chairs but isn’t that the case with every hotel you have visited. Being we where at peak season, we expected that chairs would be limited. The beds could be softer. Finally to put it this review in context, I fly over 100,000 miles/year. Overall, we where very impressed.

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice Resort

We were at this resort for 9 days to Jan 4, 2020. It is adults only and the operators did a good job of catering to the crowd. Food is good and lots of live entertainment each evening. We do not hesitate to recommend this one.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great Family Vacation!

We arrived late due to airline delays. The check-in process went well, however, one of the two rooms was not properly prepared for us. The air conditioner was broken necessitating the need for a dehumidifier that was full and not active. Once emptied the dehumidifier began to work, however, given the science involved it throws considerable heat!! We called to complain and were attended to immediately. Happy with the responsiveness given it was after midnight. Air conditioner was fixed the n [... read more]ext day and dehumidifier removed. Very satisfied. Staff was very friendly, grounds well looked after. Beach was great and housekeeping superb.
