Hotel Caracol: Best 3 star ever.

an amazing resort. The entertainment staff is top notch. They made everyday a great experience. The nightly show was great. The beach and pool were great. The buffet was ok, however the sandwhich bar made up for that. The service was amazing. We would go back anyday.

Carisol los Corales: retirement home

The hotel is filled with old Italians from Toronto and Montreal. They hog all the orange juice in morning, they cut in line for morning omlettes & bacon (the only really good food there) many of them are very rude. The resort is run down its 30 years old and farm animlas roam freely. 70 year old Italians (men and woman) flaunt there rental cuban brides quite shamelessly. The snorkelling is amazing around the restort, they have good flippers but there masks and breathing tubes are pretty cheap. If you want to eat fresh seafood ask any lifeguard and they will sell you fish, lobster or octopus. The swimming pool is spring fed and amazing. Its also supposedly the sunniest hottest spot in cuba 5 to 10 degree s hotter than varadero at all times in the winter. I would recomend this resort to people who are avid scuba divers or to people who want peace and tranquility with no night life.

Starfish Varadero: The hotel and grounds for age are very good,

Very good location. Hotel very clean and very well looked after. Grounds are spectacular and very, very well looked after. Entertainment little too laud. Food ok. Front desk people very efficient and helpful. Restaurants staff ? The food ? A la carts restaurants service great, but food bad.

Carisol los Corales: nice and relaxing

I have been to a lot of resorts and i have to say the grounds on this one was clean and beautiful. The staff for most part were very friendly and always willing to help. The rooms were small but hey, all you are doing is sleeping anyways. The pool was a good size so you are not bumping into people. The food was ok, better than I expected. Adonis was awesome cooking very delicious pizzas and spaghetti. The ocean is just a two minute walk away and the beach is clean and sandy. One thing I would do next time is change my money at the airport as the resort kept running out. Other than that my wife and I loved this resort and hope to go back again soon.

Carisol los Corales: Mosquito's in the room!

Pros: Food was great, a large selection for vegetarians. For a 3 start hotel, the food was indeed delicious; a variety of potatoes and great Cuban food. Raul the bartender at Carisol pool side was very personable and friendly. Felip was great service at Los Corales at the reception. Cuban cappuccino <3.. I need not say more. The beach was a bit rocky, but if you walked along further towards the mountains one would find an area with a lot less rocks. Lots of pestering in and out of the resort :s. I feel sorry for the country. Maybe our business is profitable to the communist regime and not the actual citizens! Will still travel there because I made some great Cubans friends. But may not stay at a resort even thought it's reasonably priced.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Resort

We stayed in a Villa, it was great. The Villa's are a bit far from the main building, this is great if you want a bit of quiet time. The food was above average with many places to eat. Grounds were very well kept and people were very very friendly. This resort impressed me enough that we will certainly return again.

This resort is really nice. It has under gone some wonderful changes and we loved it. This was our 4TH time we will go back in a heart beat. They have added a new breakfast area, mthere is always something to eat on the buffett. The resort is very clear the pools are beautiful nd so is the beach

Al La cart restaurants were great buffet was OK. Rooms were dated could use some remodeling. Resort was clean and beach was great. It would be nice to have an outside bar and snack shop that was NO SMOKING.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Wonderful vacation

We were two families with teenagers and there was much to do to keep them entertained. The weather was fantastic and the people were friendly. The food was good, there was a lot to choose from so we had no complaints. We arrived late and were hungry. It would have been nice to have a quick tour but we found our way around. The kids loved the boats, kayaks, snorkeling, pool volleyball and nightly entertainment! The a la cartes were wonderful, book as many as you can! We would go back and we have recommended it to our friends!

Starfish Varadero: Not a 3 star, should be downgraded to a 2 star

First, would like to say that I'm not a fussy eater or traveller and that I've been to Club Amigo Aguas Azules 5 years ago. I've been to other 3 star and 4.5 resorts in Cuba, Varadero and Holguin. Now this particular resort (Jan 17-Jan 31 stay) should be downgraded to a 2 star until improvements are made i.e. food is really poor & cleanliness i.e. flies, numerous cats (they should cull the heard) & chickens all over the place. Stayed in Bu [... read more]ngalow A2507 not hot water for 5 days, finally got moved to B2507, but then no hot water for 2 last days of my 14 day vacation. Bungalows are nice, but should bring ear plugs until animation & disco close. Staff are trying but management needs to check up on complaints quickly & fix them ASAP or accommodate guests in the meantime. Happy they are painting but paint is the least of my worries, good return on my vacation investment for 2 adults at the price I paid is what I expect. If these things bother you then I recommend you go to a four star. Final note all staff & animation were great & doing their very best. Hola to Diane front desk & thanks for moving us, Elizabeth maid for both rooms, even brought us extra pillows without being asked (now that is making amends for the lack of hot water which is not her fault, Diami buffet server, & Adel animation. I'm forgetting many other amazing peoples' names like all the garderners, pool cleaners, maintenance, bartenders, note that not one staff member was unpleasant and for that they get a 4 star rating.

Ahh Club Amigo we meet again. This is my second time staying at Club Amigo (I'm a 26 year old female who Stayed Jan.23 - 30th 2015) The first time being last year. I am very impressed with improvements that have been made since then. The hotel itself is looking a lot brighter on the outside thanks to a fresh coat of paint. Always something to eat, always something to drink. My personal favorite place to grab a drink is the pirate ship bar. Rego (spelling may be wrong) makes the most delicious drinks, and puts the most time and effort into them which I really appreciate. The beach is always busy but I don't mind. Most times you're able to get a chair with a tip in hand but if not that's ok...just put down a towel, no big deal! I love this resort...especially for what you pay. Everything went smoothly this year and I really have no major complaints. Can't wait for my next visit! PS. I stayed in the barracks (again) and our room was perfect. Older YES, but very functional and everything worked. I traveled with a group of people who were all situated in different sections of the resort so I got to see what the other rooms looked like. Personally for me...the barracks are just fine, I wouldn't feel the need to upgrade, but if you are looking for something a little fancier...please do so!

Hotel Caracol: FUN AND SUN AND GREAT TIME!

Hotel was ok and the food not the best but who goes to Cuba for the food? Our room was great like the idea of having 2 separate rooms. Staff great fun and really enjoyed the disco. Excursions are offered and had a great time at the King Ranch. Beach was great alittle windy but still got lots of sun. Great value for the price for sure I would recommend this resort for a vacation.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: The resort is nice and clean.

The ground is well looked after.No leaves or garbage on the premise.The lobby, washrooms, hallways are clean.The cafeteria is well setup and all the maids are super friendly....The roads or walkways around the hotel are swept daily.The trees or hedges are well trimed.Everything looks fresh and liveable like home.

Fabulous large pools great service great cuban coffee on an oceanside beach ideal for long hiked in the Sierra maestro mountain range.best of all you are only minutes away from the vibrant city of Santiago De Cuba

Starfish Varadero: Great resort

No hot water for showers. Delicious warm bread at the dinner buffet. Beautiful beach. Friendly staff Close to airport Good value for money. Excellent entertainment. Far to walk to dining room depending what room you are in.

What can I say about the joy that this resort gave me? ,, The food , the ocean and the people made for an amazing well deserved week off, Clean rooms, excellent service, The staff were very warm and welcoming,, would highly recommend to the first trip traveller,, don't forget your bubba!

Bungalow room was nice, food was good (for Cuba), wait staff, maids were great. Towels in room were small however beach towels were great. Grounds could've been cleaned better/quicker. Always plastic glasses laying around, some broken glass. No seats on the beach toilets and always carry your own Kleenex no matter where you go - off or on property. we stayed at the club Amego - in tropical room which was awfull. Mould on the white washed walls, damp smell and damp bedding. There was no balcony and the partiers stayed in the hotel, so you had lots of noise in the early hours of the morning. I encouraged my husband to smoke a cigar in the room to cover the odor. As this is our fourth time in club amino we have found the staff to be amazing with us .we have also found the food to be good as well.the rooms were big and clean.we go to relax and enjoy ourselves and make do of all situations whether it was sunny or raining. Yes it was sunny the whole time so if your looking for a cheap place to go and enjoy relaxation then I suggest club amigo for your holidays.

The staff is what makes us keep going back. Have been 4 times. Love everything about this resort. We are welcomed home each time we go. It is clean, food not too bad, very friendly place. Flea market is beside the hotel, which is great.
