Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: What A Come Back Story !!!

Never having been to that area of the world I went with no bias either way. I read a ton of revues and almost all of them were good, with a few nay sayers. I am totally happy with my time there. The resort was basically wiped out by the hurricane last fall and this resort has staged an amazing come back. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, so the man behind the reception desk was so apologetic that we got transferred from a partial ocean view smaller room to a full ocean view suite with two  [... read more]bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi, two large screen tv's, and a full living room. The renovation to the suite were just finishing up, so at first we had no safe, the jacuzzi tub had no shower head, and there was even no toilette paper. But as soon as we called, within 15 minutes a staff person would show up and fix our "problem". Every day as you walked your area, one of the staff would ask if your enjoying your stay, and if there was anything they could help with just ask. Three of the restaurants were still under repair , but the other two changed their menus every day, and all of the meals were delicious. Even the hamburgers were excellant. The layout of the pools really impressed me. The kids pool looked great for young families, the swim up bar was suited for active partiers, and for us more reserved oldies, the adult pool was off to a quiet area, with a wonderful little bar, and it was so nice to just sit, drink and socialize. Then to top it off the nature preserve estuary was next to the resort for a beautiful stroll, with turtles, pelicans, and cranes. A twenty minute walk took us into the cultural core of San Jose del Cabo, a quieter, laid back town, with great bars, food, and shops. Try the 'Retro Bar" its a blast. Finally we took a cab to Cabo San Lucas, walked around. Its much faster paced, catering to a more partying crowd, where we had supper at the "The Office", a restaurant on the beach that is an experience you won't forget. It was a total pleasure.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Great resort.

Food is excellent. Nice resort layout and never felt crowded. Cant swim in the ocean though as it is too rough. Needs another restaurant for variety on longer stays. Lots to do within walking distance.

Royal Solaris: Overall, a great vacation

The hotel has definitely recovered from being hit by the hurricane back in the fall. Grounds are spotless and lush. A few of the rooms have been updated/made more modern... hopefully all the rooms will get to that standard. Be aware of which view you get when booking... we had booked garden view and got an awful construction view with the tiniest balcony known to man. They do special breakfasts and dinners that are for members only so they tend to broadcast what you think you're missing out on. Entertainment staff was amazing!!!!! Every single one of them - great energy though the day with activities and games. Evening entertainment was also great. Won't be disappointed with that. Great feature about the resort is the 'whale bell'. At the beach bar there is a bell that gets rung when a whale is spotted out in the water. The bell want off regularly each day and it was a great sight to enjoy. The food was a 4/5. Breakfast each day was exceptional. Lucy at the Olmert station is an absolute star. The 2 a la cart restaurants were nice. Didn't like how the Italian restaurant became a French menu randomly during the week, but the first time we ate at the Italian joint was a 10/10! Food staff, atmosphere... best meal of the trip! Over all, it was better than we expected and we enjoyed ourselves.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Great Resort

The Resort was great. The staff was very friendly and always wanting to make you laugh and enjoy yourself. The pools were beautiful with plenty of pool chairs to sit in the sun or shade. Great entertainment during the day, and the shows in the evening were always different and entertaining.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: nice clean place to stay

we had a great week. I gave it a 3 star because of the food - lack of variety, only one nice restaurant (which was difficult to get in to and complicated with reservation requirements etc). Rooms were clean but bathrooms pretty old and tired. Staff was fantastic - staff made up for other shortfalls.

Riu Santa Fe: Rui Santa Fe

Its a large resort, I have been to a few all inclusive resorts and I have to say that I have never paid for the pool tables before. Also all my travel partner kept saying "They sure could use someone in the entertainment department." & the rooms sure could use some updating (not so much the rooms as the bedding and curtains). Also we upgraded to a ocean view and it wasn't full ocean view but maybe 1/2 of our view. The balcony the we had, had a small opening so I couldn't get no sun while sitting [... read more] on it, which sucked, so my suggestion is to ask for a room with full balcony not the one with the little window opening (our room was 7549) The beach.... my bad for not doing the research, but I like a beach I can walk on and swim in. This beach is very hard to walk on, with the large slopes and the sand that felt like sandpaper on my feet. Also the sand is very loose so its a pretty good work out to walk in it.Now the good, The food great, the pools were fantastic, we went on spring break so it was very busy and even at 1:00 in the afternoon we managed to find lounge chairs at both the rowdy pool and the quieter one. Staff is very friendly. I am going to say I would recommend this hotel, but it would be more for my 21 and 26 year old children.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Beautiful Resort

Exceeded expectations! Beautiful grounds, perfect location, whale watching from our balcony. Food was delicious, plenty of variety of drinks. Meticulous grounds keeping. Lots of beach chairs at pool and on beach, unlimited towel service. Entertainment staff was exceptional- S/O to Hugo, Pollux and Lily. Expect staff to know your name the minute you arrive and remember it throughout your stay. Would recommend this hotel.

Posada Real Los Cabos: Awesome Trip.. Cant Wait to go Back

Fantastic holiday. We travelled here between Feb 23rd and Mar 6th for our 21st anniversary. From beginning to end, this trip was perfect. Everything was clean, well maintained and the staff were friendly, pleasant and very welcoming. The food was plentiful, and good, though i have to say lunch on the beach was delicious. We traveled out to eat locally at Shooters.. highly recommend this little gem. The staff work hard to make everyone feel at home, and comfortable and to ensure your stay is enjoyable. A special thank you to Joel, Jesus,Jeremias, Benito, Gilberto, Urbano, for making our stay special. ( There are others, but names have escaped me lol) The hotel is small, and has a Mexican feel, and is not "party Central" for those looking for a relaxing stay, though, there is some entertainment in the evening, and some activities to occupy you during the day. We met some amazing couples on our stay .. ( amazing group of people.. ) Cannot wait to visit here again, as we will be back. ( PS. Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: practically perfect

Evervhing, from the views, the grounds, the restaurants, food, staff, and service was excellent .Everyone is working hard to make your stay the best possible. If I had to find something negative, it would be the reserving of lounge chairs. Get up early!

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Cute and Cozy

We liked the resort it was cute and cozy, the staff were nice, the rooms were good, the beer they serve isn't that good, they don't offer corona, food was ok, cant swim in the ocean. We liked the pub across the street as it has the coldest beer in town and very cheap. The disco was always empty and most people at the resort were over 50 years old, so it is quiet in the evenings. Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf and Spa: Amazing resort!

The Pueblo Bonito Pacifica resort really exceeded my expectation in almost every way, from cleanliness, services, food quality, and spaciousness etc......the fact that we can use the common area and food facilities of the other three sister resorts also add color to our 5 starred treatment!

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Beautiful Destination

The RIU Palace was a beautiful resort. The hotel was very clean and the service was fast and friendly. The food was good and the drinks were great. Definitely worth the upgrade to stay at the Palace!!

Riu Santa Fe: Nice hotel, great location.

Typical RIU great staff and room, food ok. Do not exchange your money at the hotel - exchange absolutely terrible. Staff very helpful. The walking distance from building 7 to front entrance is not that far, not sure why so many complain about this

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing resort

We spent the week of Feb 18th at the Riu Palace Los Cabo and was totally blown away. We usually travel south every year and this was our first visit to Los Cabo. The grounds at the riu were totally stunning. We had no view from our room which was very nice and clean , but the resort had the most breath taking view did not swim in the ocean, but just a water taxi away u were on lovers beach. Tesoro Los Cabos: niced place

Very nice hotel.. Some rooms are a very very long ways from the elevator and then climb narrow stairs to the room .....Nice view when you get there. Other rooms are closer to elevator but not as good a view and over the pool area could be noisey...We were a long ways from the pool ( did not use it) ... Also the hotel is a very very long walk to the beach ( should take a cab ) about 120 pesos.... one way.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Great week away :) Wish I was back

The grounds were beautiful and enjoyable, rooms were tidy and cleaned everyday, food was good for the most part...(breakfast wasn't a favourite). Activity crew were friendly but not pushy, resort was close to san jose and not a bad drive to cabos san lucas. We went in a group of 8 and we all had a blast. I wasn't ready to leave.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Love it here!!

This was our second trip to the Palace. This time we were here with our whole family including 3 kids. The food is amazing at the buffet something for everyone. Don't love the alacartes. The whole resort is extremely clean and impeccably maintained. Staff are very friendly. My son cut his toe in the pool our second day there and a manager phoned us every night to check in see how he was doing. We also received regular calls just to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay the best  [... read more]it could be.The only complaint I have which has nothing to do with the hotel was some very cranky people that seemed very perturbed with kids being around. Not sure why they wouldn't stay in an adult only resort. I plan to go back! Wish I was still there.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Value Resort!!

First time in an all-inclusive resort. I have to admit it was great, the resort was clean and modern. The staff were great, all speaking English and always happy and respectful of the visitors. The 3 buffet restaurants offered quality food and a great variety, it would be impossible to not find anything you like. There was a good mix of age groups and also many yong families but the resort offered something for everybody so you never felt anyone was out of place. Evening entertainment was just O [... read more]K in my opinion but the bars did offer a wide selection of drinks. Overall this was a great vacation and real value for money.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Ok resort, surround by gorgeous towns

Ground were very well kept. The food at the buffet wasn't the greatest and I'm far from a picky eater. The snack restaurant by the main pool had excellent food. The bars all only had one bottle of good liquor. Example: one bottle of tanqueray gin, once that was gone gin was dispensed out of a fountain pop dispenser and was terrible. We booked a one bed room, and when we arrived we had two beds in the room, they did fix this issue but we had to push for it. it was my first time on the west coast of Mexico and overall it is a beautiful area and we all had a great time, it's all about your attitude and even though the resort had some downfalls, it's all what you make. I wouldn't go back to that resort but would for sure visit the Los cobos area again.
