Melia Las Americas: Amazing Resort

This was our second time at Melia Las Americas and for the second year in a row, it did not disappoint. We pay the extra money and upgrade to the Level. We think it’s totally worth it. Less busy pools, fantastic service, pool and beach right outside the rooms, the list goes on and on. Our concierge (and now friend) Tanya makes sure everything is perfect for us and checks in regularly when we are there. The hotel is clean and, there’s air conditioning in most indoor areas. Lots of options - veg, meats, pastas, breads. The mango though…let me tell you, might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Get to the breakfast (and sometimes lunch) buffet early because it goes quickly. We will continue to return to Melia Las Americas. 10/10

Sol Palmeras: Nice resort

The ocean was very beautiful landscape was very nice. The only thing I can say is the food. My kids didn't eat much there not much variety. We stayed at the bungalow, which was a little far from the hotel so walking distance from front and back of the hotel was a little bit of a hassle. I wish we were scheduled inside the hotel but they didn't have enough room for beds for two adults and two children. I find the staff for nice, but sometimes they just did not smile as much. Iberostar Selection Varadero: Amazing resort and staff

Tammy from Trip Central.ca help us with the booking. The staff and resort was excellent. Amazing beach. Food was ok , restaurant we're ok too. overall. Not much variety. Flights were late. Will definitely come back .

Melia Cayo Coco: Good times at MCC

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a week in July. It’s an older resort but is constantly undergoing upgrades. We had a second floor room with an updated shower. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked well. The beach is beautiful with lots of huts. It’s much nicer than the beach at the Melia Costa Rey next door and way less crowded. The food was good, everyone know you don’t go to Cuba for the food but I’m sure it was much better than other resorts. The only thing that didn’t impress us  [... read more]was that the espresso and cappuccinos were not great. Usually you can count on a decent cappuccino in Cuba but not here. It tasted like they were reusing the grinds. Overall, we’d come back to this resort if the price was right.

Melia Las Americas: Melia Las America review

Our experience in this hotel has not been the greatest. I’ve been going to this resort many years, and I have to say that this time the level of service and quality of food has diminished. The staff seemed to be struggling serving people, and we’re not very efficient The rooms are dated, and the hotel itself needs an upgrade our air conditioning, although it was working was very noisy and had trouble sleeping at night. The quality of food is definitely not what it used to be this would be compared to a three star resort. I will not be going back to this resort.

Grand Memories Holguin: Good Vacation

Hotel was great, beach is amazing, food is good, however no fresh produce (tomatos, peppers, lettuce...) And no water sport activities: no sail catamarans and no snorkeling masks. Plenty of pools + hotel activities.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Very nice and clean resort

We had very very good time in Coral Iberostar adults only section.Hotel is very very nice.Service excellent food and room very good.We had room with swim out so it was perfect for us.Beach was so nice with turquoise ocean.I really recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Not bad except...

The hotel room was more than adequate. Cleaned daily. Housekeeping staff very thorough, attentive and kind. Water pressure was fine and plenty of hot water. Pool was good, no complaints. Plenty of lounge chairs as it's slow season. Buffet was adequate/good. Chicken, beef and pork every day. Pasta was amazing. Assortment of fresh fruits and veggies. Lots of bread, no eggs at all. Biggest issue: local cubans arrived, and took over the entire resort. I observed at the snack bar, numerous times peo [... read more]ple ordering stacks of ham and cheese buns, like 10 of them. They eat 2 and throw the rest out. This goes on all day, everywhere. And you are stuck waiting 1/2 hour for a sandwich. The buffet is even worse. They race in, swarm the buffet, grab 3 or 4 plates each, stacked high with all the meat, bread, cakes, ice cream.. and then they WASTE IT ALL! ..Except for the day they are leaving. Where they take practically everything they can from the buffet. The entire grill of meat..ALL the cakes...everything...then they throw it in containers and take it with them. After waiting 45mins for them to be done, there's not much left. And it's picked over. They leave their garbage everywhere, paper cups, plates, cigarette butts, dirty diapers. I spoke with someone about this, and my understanding is management is afraid to address this because they fear retaliation.(bad reviews or loud arguments) and staff go along with it because they fear reprisal from management. It would have been an excellent vacation spot but for the 3 or 4 days of dealing with this. All the staff are tremendously friendly, warm, helpful and kind. The only other issue i had was the beach. A lot of plant matter raked up in long strips on the beach and left to rot, which stank. And the water has a lot of sea shells, and coral, which requires water shoes. However there's a much nicer beach. Playa Pillar which is a short bus ride away. I would not return to this resort until I was assured that management has found a way to address the locals.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Could be much better

My opinion .I booked this hotel at a great price. So some things you complain about and some you don't. I have traveled Cuba for the last 10 years so I know what to expect. Many people are repeat customers at this resort. I am not sure why. : The bars had good service. The buffet was terrible had to line up for 1/2 hrs or more for food . I had to ask many times just for coffee. Tables were not cleaned. My room was nice but NO Hot WATER for the whole week. Had to ask for clean towe [... read more]ls. And room wasn't cleaned until after 4pm I think because of the many pools of stagnant water lying around we were all bitten alive with Mosquitos. The beach was nice but very crowded. Water was beautiful. I found that the Entertainment crew was not around as much as they should be.and to cater to all ages Would I recommend this hotel NO . Would I go back definitely not.

Grand Memories Varadero: Worst 7 days

We recently stayed at this resort and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. We arrived very late at night with our 18-month-old child. The check-in process took over an hour due to an apparent lack of staff. We stood in line for more than an hour while a separate issue was being escalated in front of us. Despite clearly seeing that our child was becoming increasingly fussy, the receptionist made no effort to prioritize our check-in or ask a coll [... read more]eague to assist. The lobby was hot, not air-conditioned, and filled with mosquitoes, which made the wait even more uncomfortable. There was no consideration shown for families with small children. Once we finally reached the front desk, we were told that the two rooms we originally booked were far from the beach and pool. We were offered an upgrade to side-by-side rooms closer to the beach and pool for an additional \$240, which we accepted. When we arrived at our rooms, however, one was not ready. It was dirty, with unclean bathrooms, no towels or toilet paper, and unmade beds. It was already past 1:00 a.m. when two maids arrived to make the beds, but the room remained unclean and felt uncomfortable to sleep in. This led to us effectively losing our first night due to poor organization on the resort's part. The issues did not stop there. The phones in our rooms were not working, so any time we needed assistance, we had to walk all the way to the lobby—only to have most of our concerns ignored. The following day, we were given premium bracelets as a courtesy for the previous night’s issues, which only gave us access to the premium restaurant. We were told this did not include minibar refills, which felt like an insincere gesture given the inconvenience we experienced. Towels were also a persistent issue. We were never able to exchange our beach towels throughout the entire stay, despite multiple complaints. The room itself was in poor condition—doors were misaligned, the balcony door was extremely difficult to open and had no lock, and the room felt consistently damp, making the beds and overall environment very uncomfortable. My elderly mother had a particularly difficult time as the bathtubs and showers were installed so high up that getting in and out was unsafe. As for the dining experience, the premium restaurant offered very small portions and mediocre food, while the buffet was nearly inedible. There were flies landing on the food, plates, and cutlery, creating serious hygiene concerns. Although I have visited Cuba many times and understand the limitations around food, this experience was by far the worst I’ve had. Even the currency exchange machine was consistently out of order, adding to our frustrations. In summary, our stay was marked by disorganization, lack of professionalism, and poor customer service. The upgraded rooms we paid extra for did not reflect the quality we were promised, and based on that, we can’t imagine what the standard rooms must be like. I would not return to this resort nor recommend it to anyone. This was a waste of money and an unfortunate experience for our family.

Melia Costa Rey: Very nice place

Do not forget this is Cuba, so you can expect surprises! Usually quiet at this time of year, there was 1,000 people on the premises, resulting in some items out of stock ( toilet paper on public premises). Very nice staff, very happy to see Canadians on site. Very nice view , beach cleaned daily Mosquitoes on the beach , bring some repellent if you are intolerant like me!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing resort

This is beautiful resort, this was my third time there in June 2, stayed there for a week, the weather was magnificent even thou it was showing online rain and clouds, you'll never know. All week was sunny and beautiful. Good room service, good buffet, love the bar and snack bar with yummy sandwiches at the beach. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great price, nice resort

Grounds are lovely, beautiful pool and beach. Great and easy access throughout the resort. Friendly staff. Clean rooms (could use some paint touch up and better pillows). Food was ok-ish, alot of repetitive items and popluar items go fast with not enough to retock (pancakes, lasagna, pizza, potatoes). Lots of pork. We didn't go hungry by all means. The Asian a la cart was the best, by far! Overall, a great trip

Blau Varadero: Amazing resort!

The Beach is amazing, it is perfect! The staff is both professional & friendly. Plenty of food & delicious drinks! A nice variety of music & entertainment. The resort is kept well clean. We had a great time!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful place and service

We stayed at Coral ensenacho adult only. Ground was beautiful with so many white butterflies everywhere, felt like we are in heaven. Villa was huge!! Bigger than my house in Toronto!! Jacuzzi in terrace with table set and loungers. 3 bathroom, 2 walk-in closet, kitchen, and 2 beautiful huge bedrooms. Food was good, enough variety, lots of drinks. Only little problem was no wifi connection inside our room. Memories Jibacoa: Memories Jibacoa to remember

It was a wonderful experience in Jibacoa - first of all, the beach with the reef. You don't need to book a trip as in other hotels - here the reef is literally two steps from the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so the hotel is maintained very well. The food and the three restaurants were great. I was surprised to see The Opera night performance with three wonderful singers performing opera hits and some timeless classics. Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Great Resort

I enjoyed my stay with my daughter it was clean and the pool was great. The ocean was scary for me as I am not a great swimmer! But it was very nice. The food was acceptable we were happy to find that they had hamburgers and ketchup!!

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing hotel

Very nice hotel . I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to go to Cuba The beach is beautiful . The staff are amazing Food and drinks are great . Restaurants are great. We had a very good time. We will be back soon.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great Place To Relax!

Great hotel if looking to relax. Rooms were good but a bit run down compared to photos. Staff was amazing but food selection was not good and a lot of flies always on the food. Drink selection was okay but not as good as other resorts I’ve stayed at. Beach was a 5/5 but beach bar closed at 4 pm also No swim up pool. Would not consider this hotel a 5 star,

Hotel Tuxpan: Very Relaxing Way to start the Summer

What a great trip. Upon arrival you are greeted by staff ready to help you and check you in. The resort was very clean and the staff was super friendly. You cannot beat the beach- absolutely beautiful. The buffet was small, but they never ran out of food. At every meal you could have something prepared fresh on the spot. There were not any "a la carte" dinners to book, but they had a special dinner in lieu of the buffet where you were seated and were given the options of a appetizer, a main and a dessert and it was delicious!! The staff that worked in the buffet were super friendly and always greeted you with a smile. Towel service was great. You could change your beach towels whenever you wanted from the "beach house". The only time I heard of anything running out was hamburgers at the snack bar, but that was often later in the evening and were replenished for the next day, however there were still other options of things you could order from the snack bar. The animation team was great. The entertainment staff were so friendly. The only "disappointment" was one of the pools was closed (but I was made aware of that in advance, so it was not a surprise). On their website, it talks about a disco- however the disco is closed so there was not an entertainment option for after 11pm unless you went into Varadero (which is only a couple of kilometres away). A nice surprise was that on the website it says you have to pay for wifi. But you did not. It was included and was very reliable- except on the beach. Overall it was a great experience.I felt very safe. I would definitely go back.
