Barcelo Solymar: I loved it all!

I loved this resort, the staff were amazing. They allowed us to change rooms just to have a higher balcony and everything was taken care of promptly. The layout was awesome and the beach was amazing. I took part in many of the games and it really added some laughs to our trip. The food is what you could expect but I found many items and a la carte dinners to be quite good. I would go back anytime!

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful resort with some room for improvements

The hotel is gorgeous! Very well maintained. Great layout (building 7 was in the perfect central location). Nice rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is very good. A la cartel restaurants are amazing. Delicious food! The beach is nice but be aware there is a huge reef just off shore. Great for snorkelling/scuba but makes it hard to walk out. And people walking all over the reef is killing it. It's gorgeous and should be being protected. Wifi is still not available (but it's being hooke [... read more]d in now) and my Roam like Home didn't work there. You have to use the hotel computers. Not ideal. My biggest complaint was the beds. I found them unbelievably hard. I've heard they are getting new beds but that didn't help me. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat. My few issues are on their to do list. This resort could easily make itself a 5 star with a few small changes. Thankfully the people, location and scenery well outweigh the few issues.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Excellent Resort

I would recommend the Iberostar Varadero. The service was excellent, the entertainment was great, the pool, the beach were great. The food wasn't that good to begin with but after some feedback on the 3rd day the overall quality of the food did improve.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: beautifull resort....very clean and friendly

this resort was amazing....staff and service was great ...rooms were very nice ....beach was flawless and excursions were reasonably priced....they had a great variety of food selection and the restaurants were excellent....we would definitely go there again...we are already talking about it !!!!!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good resort but need some improvement!

This a beautiful resort, the buildings look nice from outside, the yard and pool are kept clean, however the rooms inside can do with some updating and better or proper cleaning, the maid should be changing the towels daily but don't. The food is ok but need to say not the best, breakfast was the best of all. The nightly entertainment shows were great, did enjoyed those. Overall our vacation was ok.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: The resort was beautiful

The staff was really nice and very friendly, the hotel nice & clean the entertaining was amassing, varies drinks and lot of interlining at the lobby area, Our vacation experience was unique love to come back to Iberostar Laguna Azul Varadero Cuba,

Roc Barlovento: amazing

everything was great.freindly staff.the only thing missing was a bar closer to the beach.hotdogs and hamburgers at the beach for lunch would make more sense instead of a big buffet. having been to Cuba 7 time. i would definitely say i would want to go back again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Tranquil resort, great for couples

Beautiful grounds; not overly lit which was nice, very well-maintained and quiet. Pristine beach: one night we were the only people walking along it, save for the caretaker. Great tasting drinks, and really good food (in spite of what I'd heard about Cuba). Make sure you make your restaurant reservations early (a few days in advance). . .the Japanese restaurant was fun. We made our own way to Havana for a couple of days (I had previously booked our hotel in Habana Vieja online through Cuba Trave [... read more]l Network); the concierge helped us rent a vintage car ('55 Chev complete with driver and English-speaking guide! They were phenomenal!). The disco was quiet (Friday night) but worth going to. We had an upper floor ocean-view room; just a quick walk to the beach.

Melia Las Antillas: Not a 4.5 star hotel....at best 3

The Melia Las Antilles resort is in a serious need of upgrading. BIGGER isuue is the food offered in both their buffet and individual is being served luke warm to cold when items should be hot.......room temperature when needing to be cold. RESULTED in being sick.....first time in our travels in 10 years both in Cuba And Mexico. Grounds were just being taken care of with major trimming etc.which looked lovely but with one pool only,, work being done with pool deck surfacing and redoing each of t [... read more]he shade umbrellas left us not really wanting to spend time poolside. TOOK three rooms to finally settle in...1st one offered steps away from the only opened late bar....second one a much quieter choice but no safe offered and finally the third which had a safe that didnt work. THANKFULLY with excellent service from the girls on the front desk it was fixed within the day. CLEANING STAFF AND ALL GENERAL serving staff were excellent as well. BEST entertainment goes to their in house band which we were fortunate to hear twice.....defiantly ELLEN Show worthy. BEACH Is what we go to Cuba for so this didn't let us down. OCEAN defiantly colder in October than in April which was when we last visited and stayed at the Royal Hiccacus which is simply the better choice.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great resort and vacation!

The hotel was nice, the grounds were beautiful. Although the resort is fairly new the room looked pretty worn already. But you don't spend a lot of time in the room. The food was good you will always find something you like. The drinks were fabulous! Soooo much choice. The staff were incredible! Tips weren't expected and actually they seemed pretty surprised when you did tip. It's on the Marina so the resort is like a little town with lots to see and you are able to walk around. Hotel Tuxpan: fair resort

Same food everyday, not much fresh fruit, or vegetables. no juices at the pool bar for mix. some of the staff were bugging for gifts even if they did not clean our rooms. Hours of towel change for beach towels were not consistent with the signs.

Memories Jibacoa: great resort and lovely people

We all 7 of us ladies had a great time there at the Memories Jibacoa resort. Just got home today. It was our first time there and we all can honestly say we had a good time meeting the staff who make our stay relaxing and pleasant.

Roc Barlovento: resort was under complete construction

resort was under complete construction but the future looks promising the newly done rooms are far better because of the heavy rains we had it made it akward to get around especial to the eating area because main dining room was closed

Starfish Jibacoa: wonderful lush grounds

I loved my bungalow! The housekeeping was exceptional too! Overall the staff was friendly, helpful and down right just a pleasure to talk too. I fell in love with the landscaping within the villa not to mention I could see the ocean from my front door.....Just fabulous .....appsolutely fabulous!!!!!!!

Hotel Villa Cuba: DONT BOOK HOLA SUN

Flight was 2 hours delayed outbound no big deal arrived at hotel at 12 AM home flight was scheduled to leave at 10 45 PM However to save money Hola sun moves everyones flight to 11AM Guests now leave hotel at 7 am meaning 6 beach days Not 7 as wanted

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very nice resort

If you are looking a place to just relax then this is the place. Rooms are well kept and grounds are very well taken care of. There are always workers tending to the grounds. I like how the property is not just rooms. There is a lot of trees and bushes to make it feel more homey. The food was quite good for cuba standards. The beach was amazing and the staff are great. Lots of huts on the beach for shade. Def would go again...

Hotel Los Cactus: Breezes was a fantastic resort

The gardens were very well kept, hotel was clean, food was decent, staff - most amazing and beyond excellent. Facilities were great in the hotel. Most of all it was the staff from reception, to room service, to DJs, to group event coordinator, bar staff, buffet servers, gardener - just totally wonderful people - made it the best holiday ever

Resonance Blu Varadero: First time in cuba

Hotel is very clean, I constantly saw workers cleaning the grounds. Rooms were made everyday. For the most part, staff is very friendly. Food was quite good, enough choices to find something you like.

Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories Oct 5th

After a few weeks back finally can write a few words about the grand. Arriving at 9.15 at night we were quite tired and check in went pretty smoothly.The person at the reception was Leydi Landa and wow what great service to start your holiday .She greeted us with a smile and processed us with ease..you can tell she's a pro at what she does and her English is impecable i would hire her in a minute...Our room was a standard and no complaints as our maid ( Mayrit) i probably have it wrong but she w [... read more]as an absolute gem there were a few small issues with that room but we didn't want to change as we might have lost her . (room 21110).The food was par for Cuba but we never went hungry..If you want a Filet mignon go to France and pay big bucks don't come to Cuba.I got the grill man to put things on the grill for warmer dishes after giving him a few dollars he had no probs doing it all week.The dinning staff (as you walk in to your left near the window) made our stay even better as they were all a delight morning till night could not complain one bit.( You guys were awesome) ;-) The staff working the bars , cleaning and the grounds crew were also good..the towel guy the Dj the dancers i could go on and on about the staff as this resort has one of the best i've been to.The only complaint i would have and this can be rectified is the pool..Needs to be looked after with love and care with this being said we would go back (better cleaned pool) without a second thought. Wishing all our Cuban friends a big Ola and thanking you for all the great times at the Grand your the best..To Management your staff is amazing don't lose em. Jp/Sandra
