Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Very relaxing Vacation

The Catalonia Royal Bavaro is a very nice resort. Being on the adult side was quiet and relaxing. The food was just right, and the service was incredible at all of the bars and restaurants. My hat goes off to the staff there!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Do Not Go

First the Good Part: the grounds are well kept and clean, the food is was good and a variety to choose from. There are several al la cart but hard to get in there. Bad: the staff are rude, the ocean cannot swim because of the seaweed, not resorts fault, Please be aware of personal items as we had an item taken from our room and the resort did not do anything about it. Our frig, safe and air con did not work properly so we were waiting in our room most of the week to have these items fixed.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Thumbs up

Beautiful landscape and Eco friendly resort. The peacock, goose, ducks, flamingos co exist with the people.. Excellent food with wide selection. Never boring as nightly entertainment for people who likes the night scene. Drinks to quench your thirst

Occidental Punta Cana: Lovely vacation

The hotel had a nice layout, grounds were neatly kept and rooms clean. There was always food to eat, even if you are a picky eater. The beach was beautiful and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Occidental Punta Cana: This resort is so-so.

Resort did not like. Rude staff who can call us on "Hey". Guests service does not working for tourists.We have a problem,we addressed in the guest service to Johanna, she was rude to us, said that to solve their problems themselves, he threw us her badge on the table when we asked her name.She ignored us. On the beach we were deceived with tickets for the speedboat. Only manager of hotel helped us to return our money back. We lost 3 hours. One day after the rain we had half a day without electri [... read more]city and water, no apologies. The next day, we had about 5 hours without water in the room. To find air Canada representative was not possible. The room in the rain flowing roof. Tired to wait a spoon or tea in the dinning room. Rooms are cleaned clean, the beach is good. The food was not bad.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very disappointing!

Pros: weather, adult only portion, no issues getting a sun lounger by the pool Cons: food was bad and we are still sick, bed hard as a rock, room cleaning hardly done, can't flush toilet paper, mini bar in room barely stocked, issues with the patio door not locking, poor service overall, restaurants requiring reservations were terrible, service unhelpful, an hour late on the flight going down and coming home, airport in dominican very unorganized, tranfer to and from the hotel a joke - late bot [... read more]h ways, everyone expecting a tip, another group had bedbugs and clinic said it was mosquito bites - mosquitos don't bite in a line, tons of seaweed on the beach - on the sand and in the water.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Looooved this resort!!

The hotel is so convenient to the airport!! 10 minute drive! The lobby is beautiful! The Junior Suite was amazing! Every room has a jacuzzi on the balcony! Will return for sure! Great for everyone! 5**

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Amazing resort!!!

Breathless Punta Cana was the best resort I've ever stayed in! The room was amazing and so clean, the food was fabulous and so many choices, the staff was absolutely incredible. If you want a great, relaxing, kid free resort, then chose Breatless. I will definitely go back anytime!

Riu Palace Bavaro: Good, but not great

Stayed at the Riu Bavaro 7 days, entertainment in the day and at night was great. Room key did not work on 7 occasions, had to make the long walk to the lobby to get keys changed, similar issue w/safe.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: grand bahai principe esmeralda ---only place to go

This was a fab vacation. We have never been pampered by the staff the way we were at this hotel. The grounds were incredible Food and service were outstanding and all i have to say is when can we go back.

TRS Turquesa: would never go back

My husband and I spent a week at this resort and we would never go back, terrible customer service, at check out they accused us off taking a bottle of champagne and wouldnt let us leave uless we paid for it, needless to say when my husband told them to call the police they had us sign a weaver saying that we didnt take the bottle and then we could leave...

Occidental Punta Cana: Great for the price

I've traveled to the Occidental Punta Cana a few times in the last 6 years and I have to admit this hotel needs some work. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is great and the staff is amazing! The rooms and food need improvement. The rooms are ok but the bathrooms need to be renovated; the toilet and bathtub need to be updated (I think they are the original parts from when the hotel was built). Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent Resort

-Great Hotel, excellent room service -Room was being painted and smelled like paint upon arrival -Beach was not quite the greatest becasue of the sea weed -nighlty entertainment was lacking -DO NOT GO TO THE 60 min time share presentation. -You will get hounded for tipping the staff and/or locals for pretty much anything -keep an eye on your money in the safe, we seem to have lost 70 dollars and our other freinds seem to have lost over a hundred

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: The best place.

Everything running good, the only problem is the shower door, they have to fixed. because all water coming out and it is dangerous. I am happy wirh al service people, they are frienly and the place is very clean, good food.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Exerent for Adult only Hotel,

We, mi wife and myself have stayed one week period of June 18 to June 25. As you expected areas specified in all aspect of your hotel, Our general impression to your hotel has " Exerent in most categories " But some defect must be stated here fierst thing was weel pool has not cleaned and sanitation completely, we have notised black color from weel pool injectors and I have some kind of virus infected, fortunately I have brought antibiotics tablets and some ointment tube used as emergency treatm [... read more]et done. second thing was one night at Don pablo restaurant I ordered beef steak but I could not be eaten because my judgement of quality was one of the lowest quality please review them if you find out anythings might be improved. Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Amazing Vacation!!

This hotel was more than we could have hoped for ! The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The service was impeccable. Rooms are very clean and bed super comfy! Definitely will be returning !! :)

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Excellent Vacation!

It was our first time in Punta Cana. We had a fantastic experience at the Bahia Principe Ambar resort. Everything was exceptional, our room was beautiful, the food was great and the staff was very friendly. The only thing that could be improved is the organization of the trolly cart that you take to the Ambar from the main lobby. After traveling all morning it was a tad inconvenient that they didn't send a trolly as promptly as we had been informed & they needed to send a second trolly because t [... read more]here wasn't enough room on the first. Other than that, it was a beautiful resort, beautiful beach, and a fantastic vacation! :)

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great family location

Loved the grounds - well maintained and clean. The place is huge so if you are not a fan of walking then you will be segregated to one area. We were close to the restaurants and did not mind the walk to the pool and beach. Food was very good. Lots of fresh healthy selections and wide variety to choose from. The Thai place was the best! We ate there two nights in a row. Loved the Peacocks although be warned they are very loud in the wee hours of the morning. Rooms were decent - a little outdated  [... read more]but in good condition. Fridge restocking was hit or miss. If you are late raisers then you will find your room is bypassed on the morning tour and might not be cleaned until later in the afternoon. Buses were a huge hit with the kids. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Did not have any experience with time share people. Pools were great - packed so get there early if you want a lounger

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Nice Resort

I've never done a review before but decided I would this time around. It's a bit long but, in my opinion, fair. You can be the judge. I stayed at the Ambar side (Older side and Adults only). Overall, it was a nice resort and the grounds were well kept. Arrival was a bit rocky as the bus dropped a bunch of us off in front of the Esmeralda and told us we would get a cart to take us to the Ambar. After waiting 25 minutes, I had to go to the front desk to inquire what was going on and only then di [... read more]d someone come shortly thereafter. I tried to inform the front desk at the Ambar of the issue and it was dismissed like no one understood what we were saying and no apology was made. Entertainment: Since this is an adult's only side, they should have had more activities and music playing. The music in the foyer kept skipping (need new music and/or CDs) and entertainment was quite limited. Pool: Very nice. This was the only place with music throughout the day, except when an entertainer performed in the lobby. Beach: It had a lot of potential but the seaweed was quite bad at that time of year (June). If you weren't out there early, you didn't get a hut and/or chair. Same for the pool. When on vacation, in my opinion, I don't believe I should have to set an alarm to get up just to complete this task. Obviously, this is out of the resort's hands. Food: In the buffet, good but not great and a bit on the cold side. Desserts had potential but, due to mass production, well you know, it didn't taste that great except for the ice-cream, jello, tapioca and fruits :). I also loved the seafood pasta station at the restaurant close to the pool. That's pretty much what I ate for lunch for the remaining three days of my stay. A la Carte: Great experience and top notch service!! I would go back there again and only go to the specialty restaurants each night for sure. I ate at Don Pablo, El Olivio and Bella Italia. Junior Suite issues: Liquor - I stayed in a Junior Suite wherein liquor was supposed to be provided daily, it also said so on the flyer in the room, but I had to call continuously to request same and also for soda. The phone didn't work properly (had a lot of static which I called about but nothing came of it) and had some issues with the tv. Liquor was a bit on the weak side. Most mixed drinks tasted like medicine, except the little bottles put in your room, Kahlua, Baileys and their local rum, Mama Juana, which didn't have aphrodisiac qualities claimed but did give you a good night's sleep so that's why people dissappear.... :) The rooms were very clean. A huge cockroach did show up to say hi, which wasn't good, but I guess you can't avoid these things in the tropics....lol (when I should be crying). There were no mats in the room at all because the floor got quite dusty throughout the day. Beds: Harrrrd. Even with a mattress topper, it was still uncomfortable. Customer Service/Staff: I must say that Albania M. (front desk) was a wonderful person to deal with. She did her best to accommodate and assist in whatever way possible and her English was quite good. This is how customer service should be. As for the staff, that's where the problem set in. At this resort, I understand that Spanish is their native language but, given that soooo many people come from overseas, I felt ignored or dismissed as they couldn't understand my requests because I didn't speak Spanish, especially the buffet and when calling the front desk. For example, I asked for gingerale and got gin and tonic (which would have been ok if I drank that). I get the impression from this resort that, if I didn't have a tip all the time, the service and follow-through lacked. Most times, I was the one who would have to call back, after quite a bit of time had passed, and usually by then they would have forgotten, so make sure you follow-up continuously. Value: I've been at numerous hotels in different places, but I would not pay what I did to go back there. If there was a deal - perhaps.

Zoetry Agua Punta Cana: Almost perfect

If you are looking for tranquility this is the place for you. This resort has many great aspects. The food and service was amazing. Although our butler (Carlos) was not helpful the staff ( Omar and Stephanie) more then made up for his neglect. The resort was half full during our stay June 14-21 2015. Roughly 100 guests. I believe the staff out numbered us. It has a good mix of ages. From late 20's newlyweds to coupes celebrating 20th wedding anniversarys. The beach is good. Alot of trees on th [... read more]e beach, creating roots and twigs in the way while walking. Not a huge deal, however i have had better. The food was amazing, many great restaurants to choose from. No reservation required or use the 24 hour room service. Being able to have full access to all the sisters resorts is a huge selling feature. You can visit any of the other 4 and have all inclusive to drinks restarants and show times. If you want peace and quite you could not ask for a better setting. I will return one day just hope the place does not change.
