Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Great location, even greater staff!

We wanted a low-key week to relax and found it here. Close enough to small shops or a short taxi ride to downtown made it a good location. Everything was handy, with a smaller pool and restaurant than the main building, which suited us just fine. Upgrades to the very clean rooms are really nice, staff was EXCELLENT, and the daily entertainment was great. Because Villas Vallarta is just across a quiet street from Canto del Sol, we could go there for more activity if we wanted or to have access t [... read more]o the beach.

Canto Del Sol: Love this resort

Stayed at Canto del Sol from February 1st - February 8th Sunwing flight delay both ways 2 hours, but that was not a surprise almost expect it with Sunwing, besides that the resort is fantastic the staff also fantastic, love every minute of our stay from walks along the beach to shopping just right outside our Resort a taxi cab to the malecon ranges between 8 US Dollars and 10. This was our second time staying at Canto Del Sol the first time was across the street at the Villas this time at Canto [... read more] Del Sol Plaza, we definitely enjoyed the plaza more the meals were all very enjoyable with plenty enough to choose from. The pool was heated which was great because there's always a breeze coming off the ocean one little irritating issue was that the swim up bar was closed most of the day which meant you had to get out of the pool and walk around to the other side to be served although quite often you could order from a waiter that was walking by, Victor 1 and Victor 2 where the waiters that served us most times in the evenings and are fantastic. Can't say enough good things about the staff they were all so accommodating and lovely and sad to see us go. Beware when checking in the front desk will send you directly across to pick up your towel cards and your free gift this person will also try to talk you into going to the timeshare meeting they will not take no for an answer and I finally had to just walk away! Beside that we will definitely return one of our favorite resorts along with loving Puerto Vallarta.

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Amazing family resort!

The Barcelo was an excellent family resort!! Our kids had a blast in the water parks and at the kids club- this was the first resort we’ve gone to, where parents were able to relax too! The food was excellent, and the resort was very clean. I would highly recommend this resort to any families looking for an amazing vacation!

Cozumel Hotel and Resort: Wonderful resort!

Hotel is wonderful. Very clean. Wonderful staff. Good food. Nice family resort. Will go back again. Within 25 mins of walking to town. We loved playing volleyball everyday. Can't say enough about the amazing staff. They make your stay!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great time

The hotel grounds were beautifully kept. Beaches were wonderful, the Beach Activity service was great it was wonderful dealing with Gabriella The food was good lots of variety. The Santa Fe restaurant steakhouse was not up to Snuff The people at the front desk were excellent. Can't say as much for the concierges and head of house keeping that looked after our section it only took us five days to get an iron in our room. El Cozumeleno Beach: Very Nice Vacation with Friends and Family

This resort is a very nice little resort. The grounds are well kept, rooms in the newer 9 story building were all well kept and very clean. Pool was cleaned regularly and the Staff were awesome. The location was great, service at the pool was awesome, snack bar and a la cart staff were fantastic, but, we also had a few things we didn’t like. There is no night life at this hotel which wasn’t a big deal for us as we went into town most nights. Another disappointment is that we had to wake up at 6 am to stand in line until 8 am to book the a la cart for dinner. It was rediculous. Other than that we still had a great vacation and enjoyed the resort.

Riu Flamingos: Relax and enjoy

Wonderful trip. Flights were on time and the resort was well run. Friendly staff and clean rooms. We would stay at the Riu again. Three different restaurants to choose from. The Asian restaurant was the best kept secret.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: AWESOME RESORT!

This resort was amazing and so much fun. The food at the a la carte restaurants, the buffets and the snacks at the beach were all wonderful. The taco shop at the on resort shopping plaza was so good! The grounds were well maintained and the staff were all friendly and accommodating.We went on three excursions and they were also amazing. The staff were so knowledgeable and fun.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Nice 4-star family oriented resort

The resort was nice - very clean, and the grounds were lovely. The staff were always friendly, and the buffet food was good with fresh salads, fruit, breads and various meat dishes served daily. I would have liked more Mexican food at the buffet, such as - nachos, salsa and guacamole, but I only had that once in the Mexican restaurant. They served nachos sometimes at the buffet, but no salsa or guacamole. We tried each of the 3 restaurants, and really enjoyed the seafood one the best. We  [... read more]liked that the beach chairs were located under a grove of palm trees. The swimming area was okay, but it was located right next to where all the large tourist boats were coming and going, and that combined with the noise/smell of seadoos and other watercraft made it a bit too busy for us. We would have preferred a quieter beach. We enjoyed the shows they put on every night from 9-10 p.m., and also the piano entertainment in the hotel lobby. I've always loved the frozen margaritas in Mexico, but this time it was hit 'n miss - the best ones I had were at the beach bar and seafood restaurant. I gave up after a few bad drinks and just had the white wine which was pretty good. All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay, but will not return to this particular hotel because the beach area was too noisy.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great family resort

The grounds were very well maintained and rooms lovely and clean. A good selection of restaurants and lots to choose from at the breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff willing to do anything to make your stay pleasant.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful staff makes this resort

This hotel is Canadians home away from home. Many people return again and again for this reason. The staff are amazing and the resort is large enough not to feel crowded and yet it doesn't feel huge. I love it here and will return, just like many others.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Relaxing Vacation

This is our third time at the Luxury Bahia Sian Ka’an. We checked in around 5pm, it was fast and efficient. Our luggage was promptly brought to our room. Booking our alacartes was easy. Food at buffet was very fresh and all 4 of us enjoyed it. We often took the shuttle to the beach early and had breakfast at Akumal buffet or the infinity pool at Akumal which is right on the beach. We appreciated how hard the team at the Sian Ka’an beach worked to clean up the seaweed - I feel like w [... read more]e had the best and cleanest beach on that strip! Staff was so friendly with us and we had fun watching them interact with each other and laughing. They genuinely seem happy working here. Many of the servers have been working there for 7+ years! Brand name liquor such as Beefeater Gin, Tanqueray, Havana Club 7, Don Julio etc. was appreciated. Excellent service! Very relaxing We had great weather and spent every day at the beach! One of our best vacations.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Lovely Resort!

My mother and I traveled to the La Perla at the beginning of February for a week, and we had a fabulous time. We chose a Royal Service Swim Up room and this was the best possible scenario, as the RS pool is heated! I think I spent my entire week in the pool! Drinks were plentiful and the food was excellent throughout the resort. We ate at the Grill, Vento, Bana, La Palapa, the Grill and Mole. All were very good! The weather was perfect as well. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort for families

Nos gustó mucho el hotel. Las habitaciones son grandes y la limpieza general es muy buena. Hay algunas opciones de alimentación buenas pero hay que reservar y ocuparse de ver que este la confirmación... eso decididamente necesita cambiar (al parecer la idea es que haya que reunirse con el conserje para que puedan convencerte de "comprar el tiempo compartido.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: 2nd time at this resort

This was our 2nd time visiting GBP Tulum. The food is excellent, grounds beautifully kept, plenty of loungers at the pools & beach and the people who work at the resort still pleasant as ever especially Gabriel at the Tequila restaurant! The front desk at check in was very good to move us to the section we stayed in last time however were unable to accommodate a room with a king sized bed. Even though I was willing to pay to upgrade our room or move to Akumal section they said there was still no [... read more]thing available. It was a little disappointing as my husband and I have been married for over 25 years so it was very odd to sleep in separate beds. My recommendation to the resort is when allowing clients to book thier vacations thru travel agencies to specify if you want a double or king bed like I have seen other resorts do so. This was our 1st time flying with WestJet and was surprised to find out we had to pay for each bag we were checking on the way there ($30 CAD) and on our flight home ($30USD). This came into effect as of Jan 1st. So it really wasn’t cheaper to book with WestJet as once you add the cost of bags we checked it would’ve been cheaper to book with Air Canada Rouge. Overall the money we spent was well worth it. We would definitely stay at this resort again.

Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun: Amazing Resort

There is so much to do and see on this resort. There is endless food options all day and evening long ranging from room service to quick snacks like nachoes and burgers. The drinks and service were wonderful, we never had an empty glass in our hands for more than 5 minutes. The pool was beautiful and there was always some sort of activity going on, on the lower level of the pool. Even though this is a child friendly resort, as someone without children, you could barely tell there were children t [... read more]here (some may think this is a plus for a more adult kind of vacation). The rooms were kept clean each day by a wonderful maid service and the resort itself was kept in tip-top shape. Checking in was a breeze and they were very accomidating to us. There is an environmental tax that you have to pay for which we were not made aware of that until we arrived but it works out to about $10 USD so not a big deal. The only negative thing I would have to say about this resort is that the gift shop does not take USD, it only takes credit cards or Peso's as payment options which is frustrating since most travellers bring only USD and some may not like to use their credit cards. Otherwise, it was a wonderful vacation, wonderful resort and staff and we will definitely be making a return to this resort in the future, staying longer our next trips!

Royal Solaris: A lovely experience

The Royal Solaris is a resort that I would definitely go back to. Not only did the facilities offer everything that my family of mom and dad and adult children wanted in an escape from the cold, rainy days of Vancouver, the people who provide the services were friendly and truly welcoming. The food was varied, tasty, healthy, and interesting. The rooms were roomy, clean, and very comfortable.

Secrets Huatulco: Very friendly resort!

The hotel lobby is showing its age! The staff where very friendly and good was very good! Views from the hotel where amazing! A little too far out of town but cabs a reasonable! Not enough pool chairs and umbrella's unless your up at 6:00 to save a chair :( We did enjoy our stay!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Nice resort

Very good resort. We liked the most walking on the long beach as well as within the resort. We stayed at the Maya Caribie. It is good but i wouldnt rate it as a 5 star. It is no more than a 4 star. it seemed to be an older resort. The bathroom was partially renovated which was nice. However, every thing else was ready to be updated to deserve a 5 star rating. It woulve been nice if: 1. The air condition can be adjusted from the room. The thermostat seemed not to work no matter on what degree [... read more] of temperature you would put it on, it would give a temperature that I would estimate to be 21-22C. That was a little chilli for us. So we opened the balcony door. We woke up with mesquitos bitting us in the middle of the night. Llet alone the noise coming from people retuning from the bars. It turned out the screen on the door was torn letting mesquitos in. 2. There were lots of food everywhere. Most of the people on the resort were from Canada and the USA. However, they didnt pay attention to the fact that Canada is multicultural and that there would be those who do not eat pork (example: Jews and muslims). Most of the meat dishes were pork or contained pork (e.g. beef and pork, chicken and and pork fahitas). There were some beef burgers and chicken at the snack bars. However the 4 coupons they gave us for the ala cart resturants were very good for dinner. 3. Sunwing airlines is terrible. I will never use them again.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Fabulous stay at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya!

My husband and I had a great stay at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in February! The food was delicious, the beach was beautiful, rooms and customer service was wonderful, and the resort was very easy to get around. We have been to the Mayan Riviera and Cancun many times. This is now one of our favourite resorts. Don’t hesitate. Book your stay!
