Excellence Riviera Cancun: Amazing time

Beautiful resort. Amazing food and drinks. It was like eating at the keg for every meal. We really liked that it was a la cart for every meal. Lovely resort, beautiful beach. Loved the amount of beach/pool beds they have.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Loved the sushi restaurant

Pros- good food at the restaurants especially sushi restaurant , buffet breakfast good .all staff were very friendly.did have a quiet pool and beach was great for long walks Neg-more children than expected,very large family groups, restaurants very noisy,evening bars small and too few bartenders Would recommend for families

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Magical resort

The Occidental grand was the most beautiful setting i have ever seen. Woke up in the morning to monkeys on my balcony, lush jungle like setting. The beach was a little far but good exercise. Rooms are very clean and spacious and the staff were amazing. Traveled alone with my 12 year old daughter and never felt unsafe.

Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: Not so good

Friendly staff, good food, resort is in dire need of repairs ( mother in law fell twice over broken pavement ). Seems the emphasis is put on the zoo and no attention is put on the resort.Only about half the staff speak English. Resort beach really sucks. They will cart you to another beach location but it's very inconvenient.Nice little pool play area for the kids.Resort is too close to the highway. Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Entertainment!

My wife and I just spent a week (Jan20-27,2016) in Sandos Caracol. This was a great resort for couples and families alike. First the bad: the rooms we stayed in (bldgs 24 and 25) are in dare need of maintenance. They need new sinks, paint job, door maintenance, and better house keeping. A/C was weak but ok for the winter month we visited. Now the good: The entertainment is fantastic. Live music was always excellent and we danced (some of) the calories away. The in-ground (by the pools and beach) entertainment was always good too. The restaurants are great. We tried all a la carte restaurants. We loved the vegetarian restaurant (but it was understaffed and food took too long to arrive). Our 2nd favorite was the Japanese restaurant (El Templo), however the Mediterranean one was also good. The Brazilian restaurant as well as the steak and fish restaurant were just ok. The buffets were always good. I never tasted a food that didn't feel fresh or badly cooked. We love authentic Mexican food, and you'll get it here. Yoga with instructor Juan Carlos is world class. He'll work you good. The Mayan Sensory experience with Jesus and Adolfo was great and unforgettable. The bar by the beach (El Nautilus) was specially friendly and refreshing with Tomas and Gerardo. I would go back to this resort.

I would recommend this resort to all people young to old. Comfortable and beautiful. Only negative do not go to time share presentation, very high pressure to the point of disturbing. Hotel, food, staff, beach awesome.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Best view!!!

The resort is beautiful. The food is wonderful. Some of the rooms are starting to get a bit old. We prefer to stay in building 66 (on the beach, best view), but it showing its age. Low water pressure, leaking jacuzzi tub (flooded the room twice), musty/moldy smelling air conditioning, (we turned it off and used the ceiling fan and openned the door for the ocean breezes. I wish it was a little easier for them to give you your requests. We always request our room to be in 65, 66 or 67 and this yea [... read more]r we were initially going to be put in 49. We said no, and it took them about 20 minutes of computer searching and phone calls to get us a 3rd floor unit in #66. We were very happy with it, other than the air and the flood waters.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort Poor Management!!

Our trip started out great, the food at the buffet and the a la cartes is very good. The service in the restaurants and bars was great. The waitresses that work on the lobby patio are fantastic especially Sylvia Kodoo to her for being so great. Only disappointment was the service at the 24 HR snack bar or the lack of it. Our housekeeper was fantastic she helped us to keep our outdoor Jacuzzi cleaned and covered so that we didn't have to constantly pick all the leaves etc out of it. The room was  [... read more]very clean and always restocked appropriately. Our trip went bad when my boyfriend and I were in a Tram accident 2 days before we left. We were the only ones on the tram sitting in the very back seat when our driver put it in reverse and smashed into a golf cart parked behind us. Not expecting it we got a fairly good bump around. Enough for my boyfriend to badly jam his big toe which left a small cut and a horrible bruise. We also for the next day or 2 had a bit of a sore back and neck. We of course went and immediately reported the incident to the manager at Sian Ka'an (Marcel) who basically blew us off. We requested to see a doctor the next day due to the foot turning black and blue and were told the doctor was too busy. Then finally our last day they said we had to go over to the Coba resort to see him. At that point we did not want to get back on the trams and go over there on our last full day of our stay. Not once did Marcel check in on us to see how we were doing. I am very dis satisfied and it leaves a very bad impression on us the way they treated us or therefore lack of treatment I should say. A nice jesture would have been to check on us at least. But we received no communication like they were hiding from us. We were planning on returning in April to stay at the Shan Khan resort with our 2 kids but now I think we may look elsewhere. Very disappointed, Jacqueline

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort

Overall experience was good. The restaurants were amazing. The staff were super friendly. The few flaws I found were the mini bar wasn't stocked at all times. We had to call room service to bring us bottles of water. The beach was a bit rocky for my liking. And lastly, we reserved a jacuzzi suite room, but we didn't get the room we reserved. The hotel manager said, the free upgrade does not state which room you get, which we found to be strange. There were some miscommunication all over the reso [... read more]rt. Some staff told us to reserve for restaurants and some said we did not have to. But overall, our villa was new and modern and enjoyed our stay at azul.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: wonderfull family resort

Great resort food was very good very friendly staff clean rooms and grounds. this resort has a little extra to offer they have donkeys,sheep,pigs,monkeys,peacocks,parrots,deer etc Great water park for the kids.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: beautiful resort

the desk service was terrible they lied to me many times about the room service not being done till i got mad things needed to be fixed but were not dun till i lost it the biggest thing was the air conditioning never worked

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic Resort

Not a single complaint. Service, food, cleanliness.... This resort and staff were amazing. The only think that is a good to know is resort is not on the beach (in the jungle) so a bit cooler ... But transportation to the beach is perfectly planned... Every 10 mins , and storage in the room is limited, but room is clean and gorgeously decorated.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Wonderful place!

Lobby, dining and beach are very good. Kids and teen area amazing. Very clean place. Staff very helpful. Entertainment know their business, show are interesting. Animals are friendly, very good impression

Allegro Playacar: Enjoyed the Resort

We enjoyed the resort, however the both pools were very cold. The lobby area and all areas of the resort were kept very clean and I like the fact they were using plastic cups that could be re-washed not thrown away. I must admit the room was just OK as on the departure they stated it was a premimun room I would certainly not have paid any extra. Staff very friendly and helpful, Maria our housekeep could not do enough!

Allegro Playacar: A Mexican Dream Vacation at Allegro Playacar

My partner and I just returned from an enjoyable week at the Allegro Playacar Beach Resort Hotel. The resort has well-cared for lawns, palm trees, and gardens. There are two crystal clear pools and a beautiful white sand beach. The accommodations are in two-story octoplexes with thatched roofs. The rooms are bright and clean. The resort truly has the appearance of a Mexican paradise. In addition, its smaller size engendered a family atmosphere among the guests and staff. The food is very good,  [... read more]but it lacked the variety I would like. There were two Mexican buffets, a Mexican à la carte restaurant, a pizza kitchen, and a hamburger barbecue. There was also an Italian à la carte restaurant, but it was difficult to get reservations. The restaurant servers and bar staff are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They seem to enjoy serving and getting to know the guests. Definitely, the resort is an incredible value, a hidden gem in Playacar. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy an excellent Mexican holiday.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Great place for families!

This resort had an excellent beach, pools and waterslide park with plenty of loungers to choose from. Countless activities with the Pirates island and Dolphinaris within walking distance, plenty of places to eat and transport between resorts on the double decker buses was fun too! Clean, safe, awesome! We'll be back!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: A solid 4+ resort

We were at Blue Bay in 2013 and had a great time travelling with friends. We said we would never go back to the same resort twice, but after trying Cuba last year and seeing Blue Bay priced below $1000 out of Toronto it was a no-brainer...we we enjoyed it even more! So the cons. If you're going just for the beach, go elsewhere. The beach really does suck. You need water shoes and even then there are some big rocks. The water is murky so you can't see to avoid them either. Building 6 has a musty  [... read more]smell to it and is a long way from the main pool. We moved to building 2. The French alacarte was the toughest to book but honestly was out least favorite. That's it for cons! Pro's! The people were so hospitable and friendly, simply wonderful. The breakfast buffet is awesome. Always being replenished, minimal lineups (most I had in front of me at omelet station was four people). The fruit was great, always a variety each day and the people are always cleaning up. The ala cartes were the best we've had (except for the French, it was a disappointment). The rooms were always cleaned, mini bar stocked and fresh towels daily. At the pool, there were always loungers available and never a time you couldn't get a fresh beach towel. Burgers at pool side BBQ were excellent with fresh condiments (fried onions, jalapeno's, lettuce, tomato, pickle, cheese etc) Check in was painless, check out was easy. Great fitness centre and the spa area is excellent. And only 40 minutes from Cancun, so comfortable bus ride. Complex laid out well allowing for some walking after a large meal however you always had the option of taking a shuttle if you so chose. We would definitely return. Dave

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Loved this hotel chain! Riviera cancun perfect!

Hotel service is "excellence" in all ways, from the staff to management, they made us feel special from the moment we arrived until we sadly had to leave. Great food, 1 heated pool and great beach for swimming and walking to the little town.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: What a blast.

This is a very large resort, never waited more than 5 minutes for a train. All the staff is friendly and they all make you feel welcome. We loved the casino cause they had roullette and texas holdem tables.

Ocean Maya Royale: Fabulous

Ocean Maya is one of the best resorts we have stayed at. We were a group of 12 (3 families) and we had an amazing vacation. The rooms are very clean & comfortable and very well appointed. The grounds are beautiful, the food delicious, the drinks amazing and the staff incredible. Loved every minute of it !!! If you are looking for a beautiful beach, it's right next door , just walk along the beach to the right, through the next resort and you can walk for miles on a beautiful sandy beach!
