Palma Real: Friendly Staff Abound!

The staff at Bellevue Palma Real are so friendly ... we had a great time! My friend has frequented this resort many times, but it was my first time and it definitely won't be my last. The location was ideal and although it is not beachfront, it is a short walk to get there. The Varadero beach is top notch and having a beach bar and the entertainment staff there was a treat! Th [... read more]e shows put on in the evening were extremely good for being a 3.5 star hotel. The food was standard Cuban fare ... but always plenty to eat. I will never forget my Thanksgiving at Palma Real and I'm sure they won't forget me either! (aka I'm a "chicken lady")!! LOL

Melia Las Antillas: Very Disappointed

The Hotel is very outdated and seriously needs to be updated and cleaned up starting from the elevators that don't work ! Bathroom showers that have rusted ceilings, ceramic tiles that are about to fall off, bathroom doors that are rotting away and mattresses that you can feel the springs pushing against your back, not to mention the terrible pillows. This used to be a very nice place, but it has definitely been neglected and is certainly not up to the Melia standards. It,s more like a 2 star Ho [... read more]tel, and the a la carte menus in the 2 restaurants leaves much to be desired. However the grounds, beach and especially the staff are first class, to bad they are not being treated that way by the administration. Imagine they were having a German beer festival (Oktoberfest) with two large banners advertising Bavaria beer, but when you asked for this beer, you were told that they had none. what a disaster !

Club Kawama: Was upgraded to a different resort

The new place was the Villa Cuba. Room, food , grounds were excellent and so was the service. Looking forward to going back. My only issue was with Air Canada as usual. We arrived back in Toronto at 1:45 am in the morning. Barely a person in the airport and had to wait for an hour for our luggage.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great resort for its price

We enjoyed our vacations in this hotel! Great beach, wide choice of food even for breakfast, compared to other hotels of the same level. Great night animation including a spectacular aquatic show. As for me, the only disadvantage was a poor choice of fresh natural juices. What they called juices were often some artificial beverages made of chemical concentrates. In general, we would recommend this hotel to our friends.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Amazing Trip

Stayed Sept 23-Oct 7th 2015. It took me a long time to review this hotel as I broke my leg while on this trip, so I have been busy with surgeon, recasts, etc. Also because this is a very important review to me. That being said, this hotel became very dear to my heart and I will break things down for you the best I can. Staff, first and foremost. The bar staff are very attentive and very little time ever waiting for a drink. There is very good English spoken at this resort. Customer service is amazing!!! Food: The new buffet is now open, best food service design I have ever seen. Other hotels would certainly benefit from this template. Even before it was open, I heard many complain, no reason at all!!! Even at the beach while awaiting the renovation the staff did the best they could, which was all in. I believe sometimes the onus of an issue lies with the guest, not the hotel. The food is the best I have ever had on the islands and hats off to Chef! There truly is something for everyone. Pool and beach are amazing, although I admit, due to my accident I was only in each once. The beach is well maintained and secure and the pool is clean and fun for all ages. Bars are available 24/7 and coffee bar open lengthy every day. There is no smoking at the bars but there are tables close by that you may smoke at. Bar staff go above and beyond for you. Grounds are so well kept!!!! The grounds keepers work so hard at the resort and their efforts are really appreciated. They are meticulous and very knowledgeable about the specific trees, fruits and flowers. Rooms and housekeeping: We were in a suite in block 1100. Very roomy and lovely. We were first on the 2nd floor until I broke my leg 3rd day into the trip. They promptly switched us to the ground floor. Of course ground floor had more bugs but remember it's the same as where we all live. Housekeeping was, unfortunately not so good. Of course I left ample tip money each day anyway. In all fairness to housekeeping, friends said their housekeepers were great and the lobby and washroom ladies were amazing. Nothing was ever out of stock in this hotel! Miscellaneous: There is a free shuttle a couple of times a day into the flea market part of town where there is also shops and food. Children's Club is closed due to off peak season but there is still an awesome playground that parents may take their children to, not to mention that animation staff still manages to include children with side games. The lady who runs the animation team is so sweet, as are they all. I wish to Thank all staff for my experience at this hotel even though I did not get to fulfill it to it's potential. As far as complaints I've read about this hotel, I dismiss them all. Sometimes it's the way people approach things. Treat others as you would want to be treated, it goes a long way. Management and staff are approachable, willing to listen and will address your concerns the best they can. Even though I broke my leg on an uneven pathway going to my room, staff was very prompt with my medical needs and very helpful. I miss this hotel and the staff already and wish I had at least 1 week back of my two week trip to do over standing on two feet. I'm sure I would have gained even more insight. If anyone has a magic wand, wave it now and let me go back and finish my trip! Finally, I recommend this hotel from families with small children, young couples, singles and seniors. Melia Las Antillas: Great resort for the money

Had a great time. Nice hotel and great beach. Food most likely normal for Cuba, not the best, but lots of variety. Staff all very nice and helpful. Rooms starting to look their age. Hotel working hard to improve the grounds. No problem returning to this hotel.

Palma Real: nice resort

We stayed for a 7 day trip(0ct.7 to Oct14 2015)The staff were very polite and tried to answer all of our questions.WE had asked for a room with easy access,due to my mobility.and were given a hotel building with a ramp instead of stairs,close to pool and buffet.Unfortuately,the food was average and the a la carte meals ,were not worth going to.They were pretty much same meal as buffet.If you want to explore the Cubian Culture,this is the place.This hotel is within walking distance to town of Ver [... read more]adero,when lots of markets and night clubs are.Forget using the internet,we bought a internet card ,for 60 minutes,could not connect to email of Facebook.Still.for the price of our trip,I feel we got value.I would recommend the Bellevue Palma Real Resort ;for those who want to see the '' Real Cuba''

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful People & Location

The people and the location stood out above all. All of the staff really made you feel welcome and went well above and beyond to accommodate. The farms and mountain behind as well as the ocean and reef in front made for ample opportunities to enjoy nature. Closeness to Havana allowed for a city adventure. We would definitely go back!

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Super excelente!

We liked the hotel which was very clean and all the other facilities. Food was very good too and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The activities at the pool were enjoyable.The beach was clean and safe even for people who can't swim.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Really amazing place

Good people good food and a beautiful beach u can't really ask for more than that !! Really enjoyed this resort!!! Totally recomend just what the doctor orderd check it out. 24 he room service is a nice feature.

Hotel Los Cactus: Breezes Veradaro...

The best,, loving people,Awesome beach,,, good food,,, ,,,This is the first time in this Resort,,A bit outdated building,,but overall we had a good time. Will go back again for sure. We had a wonderful time,,,

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Good resort

Colonial section is very good, the rooms are renovated, new AC, new bathrooms.The food is good, a lot of sea food and good selection.The only problem is the noise in the night from two restaurants across the road.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Place, we will return.

Very nice Hotel in Veradero. Resort is nice, staff is very attentive. A la cart restaurants were very good. We didn't get to the Japanese because of a snafu with the reservation but all good other then that. Hilltop Restaurant was our favourite. We spent most of our time at the beach and staff there was great. Beaches are the best I've seen. Royal service is well worth it. Our butler Jan did a great job to make our trip worry free. We will be back.

Grand Memories Varadero: We had a great week!!!

My wife and I have never been to Cuba so we did not know what to expect. Everyone seems to complain about the food but we found it fresh and healthy. I think the lack of salt and preservatives throws everyone off :) The room was very nice, but we did not spend a lot of time in it. We tended to relax by the beach and pool most often. The beach was only steps from our room, block 33, and was beautiful and clean. The pool was very clean and warm. The staff was very friendly, and even more friendly if you tip them :) Its not them, its the Country they live in. The drinks were plentiful, especially if you enjoy Rum. We booked 2 excursions. One was the Jeep excursion and the other was the Havana bus tour. The Jeep excursion was amazing. You get to drive a Suzuki Jeep all over Cuba for the day and it includes snorkelling, cave swimming, horse back riding, speed boats on a river and lunch. The Havana bus tour was good but be ready for a lot of travelling that day. All in all we really enjoyed it. We would definitely go back to that Resort.

Palma Real: You get what you pay for!!

my sister and i visited this hotel oct 7 to oct 14 2015. when we walked in my sister did not really like the hotel but we my sister and I travelled on oct 7 to October 14 and when we arrived my sister was ready to turn around and go home --the place looked so dreary after a nights sleep we were a bit more rested and started to look at the positives,,the room we had was large in building 3 which was easily accessible with no stairs the room had two double beds enough towels etc but not always a f [... read more]loor mat. you were provided with one litre of water which you could refill at the bar anytime. we had a balcony and overlooked the pool. the maids were very helpful and friendly Mercedes was my favourite house keeper. she talked with us and made sure we were comfortable the food was okay. i am not a picky eater but it was a challenge for me-we could have fried eggs or omelettes prepared by the chefs in the morning which i had every day. there was only bacon served one day which was good but i do not care for their ham or sausage. there was fruit of course but not much variety, the hotcakes were good but displayed on a plate not kept warm. for lunch and supper it was chicken or pork grilled or roasted or maybe fish and an assortment of cheese and salads and hot dishes like stew or vegetables and pastas the pudding were good but i do not like cuban pastries,there was jello only a couple of times and again the fruit assortment was not good only melon and sometimes bananas however the service was always good and you water glass was always full. the wait staff were friendly and polite.other guests said the food was usually better but perhaps because it is off season?? there was a cuban festival one lunch and it was probably the best meal we had.i mean it was fantastic!! the a la carts are a waste of time, the bar staff were great!! they were cheerful talkative and really made you feel welcome the front desk did check us in promptly and were helpful throughout the visit. the policy i did not like was the towel rental-20 cuban pesos deposit so i paid 37 percent or so more as i could not use Canadian money -next time bring my own towel i guess!! the value of the Canadian dollar compared to cuban pesos meant i kept my shopping limited. we did meet some lovely people from ontario and enjoyed going to the pool bar with them in my opinion the beach was okay but i have seen better only went there once the entertainment was good but i was usually tired by then however i would properly stay there again because it is close to shopping nearby and i felt it was a safe place!! 117.1 km CasavanaCuba #2 of 531

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good value, good service, people were really great

Enjoyed our stay. The beach and pool were amazing. Service was really good. The only complaint we had was the washroom by the pool was not always maintained with toilet paper and smelt like an outhouse. Meals were ok, but they say you don't go to Cuba for the food.

Playa Caleta: amazing

it's a good opportunité to have a great vacation ,safe ,refresh your mind and relax. people are nice and reliable. the beach is wonderfull ,the concept it's terrific. the service is good and the hotel is clean.

Brisas Del Caribe: yes i,ve been there before thats y went back

i like it its better than some in cuba the rooms are kept clean pools are good the food could be little better but the rest is good I would go back there except no coffee in rooms meet so interesting people and were going to try meet up around feb or early march

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Staff are amazing

The beach was beautiful, rooms were acceptable, power would go off sometimes, and one incident of no hot water early in the morning, but overall it was more than adequate. Entertainment every night, just really enjoyed the trip

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort!

Hi! We were at the resort the end of September,, the resort was clean, great cuisine and like always great friendly staff. I totally recommend it, I will certainly go back..Minor issue for couples with young children no air conditioning in the kiddy center, but great baby sitters. Thank you!
