Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Nice Resort

Staff very friendly, but upon arrival it was a bit chaotic in registering, and filling out forms, then had to get back in line after filling out forms to get wrist bands. Some people would fill out forms, then get back in front of the line. Needs to be organized by the staff. Also no one told us that we had to bring back our beach towels to the front desk or to take the to the towel exchange. These beach towels were already in our suite upon arrival and there was nothing in the room stating we [... read more] had to return them anywhere, so we left them in the room. Upon checking out we were told we had to return them or be charged $10 per towel. I had to run back to the suite and get the towels and pass into the front desk. Cleaning was not bad, but sometimes my bathroom mirror was not cleaned and I did not get clean glass in washroom for brushing my teeth (we only put out our cleaning sign every second day) but when we put out our sign, we wanted everything cleaned! Buffet food was fabulous and plenty of selection. A la cartes were nice, but were booked so fast. We tried to book upon arrival, but times were limited or they were booked already. But when we did arrive at the a la cart, they were mostly empty. Lobby store was so overpriced, it was ridiculous. Selling small bags of chips US$3 and large US$7. Who pays that!! Plus didn't like being followed around by the clerk when we were looking at items. Free WiFi in the lobby was great, but it should be in our rooms as well, plus it was very difficult to get it sorted out. Bar staff great. Entertainment, was great one night only. Vendors at the shops on the resort were not friendly at all, and barely spoke English. Beach was great, but need more beach chairs and covers. Main pool was closed three times due to someone throwing up in it and crapping in it. I attended the water aerobics class - not very good, not organized. The instructor had us running on the pool deck. I stopped as I almost slipped. She also got us to make up exercises.!! She should have something already set up. The gym was very very small, no room to move around. Had basic equipment which was fine. It had a sign saying it had A/C but the staff had the door propped open, so that was useless and it was hot as hell in there. One visit was enough for me. Gym did not provide water either. The grounds were very nice, the suites were great. Fridge wasn't that cold, a/c in one room didn't work, but we had a ceiling fan which helped alot.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: First time and will not be our last!

This was our first time at an Iberostar resort and we were very pleased with the food, the grounds and the service. We will ne going back to this resort in the future! The rooms were fine, the cleaners did a good job of tidying up each day (we don't go down south to spend time in our rooms anyways) The buffet and a-la-cartes were amazing! We went to the Japanese a-la-carte and the show and food were phenomenal! The buffet always had so many things to choose from, and all were delicious. The be [... read more]ach BBQ was always a hit as well. The pool and resort grounds were great- well kept and cleaned. The peacocks and flamingos added to the experience. The Dominican people are fantastic, even the guys on the beach trying to get you to go to the market- you just need to learn to say "no" Miguel at the swim up bar was top-notch, and the cappuccino's- amazing! We would even consider bringing our kids back in the future, because of the kids club that the resort offers!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: "Be Live" Dominican/Puerto Plata

Our travel consultant from Trip Central was awesome, her name was Kristian. She gave us quite a few options to choose from within our budget and allowed us to choose as we wished. She was very helpful in every aspect and hats off to her for doing a great job.The Weather was great the week I was there. The beach was very good and no issues finding a chair. My wife was speaking to him and he didn't like what she had to say so he lifted up his shirt and flicked his nipple at her while screeching with his annoying voice like a young girl?I found him disrespectful and rude and told him to beat it before he regretted his rude actions. I cant speak for everyone however the entrtainment was high schoolish at best and the music on the resort lacked as all I heard was boom boom boom constantly and no western culture music at all which we all love.Our room was musty the entire time and we found it hard to get a good night sleep in the damp situation. Would I go back to "Be Live"? Never. Would I go back to the dominican? I don't think so. I have to say I'm not a Dominican fan at all and I doubt I will ever set foot on that Island again. I have to mention that this was a Sunwig package as well. The sunwing people were ok however the flight departures and arrival times are really messed up and they should do something about that aspect as it really impacts the whole vacation experience in that you already lose a day on each end traveling and with these crazy departure times you actually lose 2 days at the end of your vacation which leaves a bad taste in your mouth and makes you want to look else where.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Very happy with my choice

We stayed for 10 days and wouldn’t do any less and did the sparkling adults only with swim up pool. In building 7103 I think was the best room and us personally once they worked out a few kinks it was a wonderful stay. The food was really good and a big variety. The beach was very nice As u walk down the beach in front of other resorts some areas were not as nice The staff were pleasant. Our only complaint was the hounding of condo and hotel sales people. They are always wanting to shake your  [... read more]hand and get into your personal space. And when you are polite and say no thank you I’m not interested they should back off . Then you walk a Little further and there is another. It was too much. Also the jewelry people the same grabbing ur arm pulling you over. I don’t go on vacation to be harassed. If people are interested they will stop. It’s a big turn off to be constantly bugged. Over all if I could have same room I would go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great time !

Beautiful resort, well maintained, great food. Big resort, very busy, make sure to book alacart restaurants early. Could use more restrooms around the pool and beach area. Entertainment was good. Rooms were nice and kept well.

VH Atmosphere: Awesome place

What a great place , people were awesome . The staff went out of their way to help and please you. The food was great and the buffet was very clean . The grounds are very clean and the view of the mountain and golf make it look for beautiful. It’s a quiet place so if your looking for late night fun you would need to go somewhere else. They could use more music playing during supper and in the evening, it would be a lot more enjoyable then playing bingo at 9:30 in the evenings. The walk to the  [... read more]beach was not as far as we thought it would be even though it was across the street,we walked further on other resorts and it was on the same side. The beds were great too all new and rooms had lots of space . I would go back any day 👍🏼

The grounds were beautiful staff were amazing rooms very clean food was plenty a big variety only thing i dident like was the beach not what i expected the shows at night were great very entertaining

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great times at Blue Bay

Recently returned from Blue Bay had a wonderful seven days there. The staff go above and beyond from the waiters, animation team, front desk and all the house keepers. The food is delicious and abundant. My only complaint would be with top management as they need to replace the canvas on many sun beds and provide more shaded areas on the beach. Blocks 5,6,7and 8 are quieter. We enjoyed a walk daily and the mall is a three minute walk.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort!

I thought the resort was beautiful and clean. Lots of different pools to chose from. Rooms were nice and big with comfortable beds. Great food with lots of restaurants. We also loved the fact that we could go to the Breathless resort at no extra cost. Overall great experience!

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Breathless resort

we went to Breathless resort on April/07/18 for our daughter’s wedding. Loved the resort, food, cleanliness and staff. Highly recommend this resort. Only thing I did’t like was their wine, but made due, took some down with us.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

We have stayed at many resorts all over the Caribbean and Mexico and I have to say this is surely one of the nicest and best places we've stayed. It's great for families. The food was very good with lots of varieties for everyone. The grounds were fantastic and kept clean as well as the pools. One thing about the pools is that they are deep for kids that can't swim. Lots of shade to escape the heat. Beach was nice and clean, great for long walks. The only thing that I would say negative about  [... read more]this resort is the location. We like to walk off the resort and have things to do. The resort is somewhat secluded or a longer walk than I would want but that's just us. Overall I would stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Good Resort!

Be Live Hotel was beautiful. The grounds were lush and well taken care of. Our room was standard so pretty basic. But we didn't come for the room. A few minor issues with the aircon which was dissapointing. The pool was fabulous and the beach was amazing! Food was good and the people were very friendly. The nightly shows were great; especially the Michael Jackson show. The dancers were so good and have a lot of talent. The one thing I didn't love was the pressure to buy stuff from the v [... read more]endors they allow on site. While they were friendly I just didn't enjoy the constant pressure. Overall though this hotel was pretty good.....we relaxed and enjoyed our family vacation to the max!

Excellence Punta Cana: JUST MIGHT BE MY FAVOURITE RESORT SO FAR!!

Just got back from this beautiful resort last week. I was a little hesitant in going as I have been to Excellence Riviera twice and loved it, except you couldn't get in the water there as there was tons of seaweed, although they kept the beach cleaned up, the water was too dirty for me. Therefore I liked ERC much better. I was concerned after the renovations, that maybe it wouldn't be lush or green enough for me, I like the tropical feel of a resort. I had nothing to worry about, everythi [... read more]ng was beautiful and pictures do not do this place justice. The food and service was every bit as good as in Mexico. I liked the set up of the martini bar and theatre so much! The only negative things I can think of are, I would have liked a screen door on my patio and I would like to see some live music, out by the pools in the afternoon. Neither of these things would keep me from booking here again.

The Level at Melia Caribe: FUN TIMES

The resort was amazing. The abundance of food and drink was way too much. Enjoyed the surroundings as well as the tours that we took. Golfing was spectacular for the price we paid. Only thing was the rooms need to be renovated.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Grand Bahia......an amazingly beautiful setting!

Grounds are immaculately well kept, staff and workers very friendly and accomodating. Villas are cozy and comfortable however showing their age...some freshening up would be a plus especially washrooms and verandas. We did not get housekeeping everyday so...no towels, no toilet paper. Bar fridge was not replenished everyday as it should be...very disappointing. Food plentiful but always the same. All that aside, pool area was very clean and we spent most of the day there. Went to the beautif [... read more]ul beach but it was so overcrowded it almost felt and looked like march break. I don't think we would go back to a resort with so many units and so many people! Our flight experience going in was great going back different story. Of course the weather played an important role in our situation and everyone was in the same "boat". Excellent pilot and captain as well as super nice stewardesses. None the less, being stuck in plane from 8h20 pm to 1h00pm ,and stuck standing in airport until 2h00 am and leaving without our luggage was not the perfect end g to our pretty great trip. Since we were not expecting to be this late going back, we had no hotel reservation whi h meant no rooms to be had anywhere. Ended up driving to Barrie in our ice covered vehicle where we did manage to bunker down at 3 am. I suppose All is well that ends well! I'll applaud when we get all of our luggage back! Quite a memorable experience, one that I do not wish to ever go through anytime soon.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Resort - Horrible Guests

The resort is very beautiful, lush and enormous. I would not go back to this resort for two main reasons: 1) we were placed in an adjoining room with a door which happened to be paper thin. The people next door would arrive drunk in the morning around 3:00 a.m. and make lots of noise with their laughter and talking and banging things around until 5:30 in the morning. They kept us up for a few nights until we asked to be moved. After that, we had better sleep. 2) we would get up early and go t [... read more]o the beach around 7:30 a.m. About 99% of the palapas were taken, mostly the ones closest to the beach, despite numerous signs on them saying " do not reserve". You could tell that people strategically placed books, towels, shoes, etc. on the chairs but people were not to be seen for hours! Now they sell these clips so you can clip your towel onto the chairs so the wind will not blow away your towel if left unattended for hours. We were told that many people get up early, put their towels on the chairs and then go back to bed. The same thing happened at the pools. Sometimes the "towel police" would come by and remove towels from the vacant chairs and then fights would break out. We feel that more needs to be done to prohibit these selfish people from reserving chairs and palapas. The beach is too small for the number of people on the resort. The Amber Blue is only one of 7 resorts on the property, so you have thousands of people fighting for space on a little bit of beach. Furthermore, it is very difficult to book the a la carte restaurants. We were often told that the ones we wanted were booked and we were swayed to take very early or very late reservations. If we wanted to book a reaonable time, we were asked to visit the restaurant ahead of time and ask if it would be ok to dine at a particular time. However, every time we had dinner we noticed that the restaurant was only half full. Perhaps they were keeping them half empty to accommodate the”Priveleged Club”? If you like a lot of noise, rude, selfish guests, waiting in lines and slow service, then this hotel is for you!

Riu Republica: Overall very good resort

Very clean / a lot of variety to choose from at the buffets / would be nice to have an eating area/bar closer to the beach / staff is friendly / lots of activities if you want to participate / night entertainment is "ok"

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

This hotel is amazing nothing bad to write about it. The hotel is on a smaller scale which i like, not a fan of huge resorts and needing to walk a mile to the beach. Our butler David Castillo is one of a kind, he did everything possible to make our stay memorable and he succeeded. Julie our pool waitress was on her toes, always making sure we had drinks and always a happy and friendly. Food at the resort is amazing, rooms where clean, pools where cleaned daily. Everywhere you looked they were k [... read more]eeping the grounds cleaned. Its our second year at the CHIC and would not hesitate to return.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Pretty OK.

The Hotel Grounds were good, and well maintained. The adults only pool in the preferred section was missing tiles. Rooms were dated, clock did not work, furniture showing age and wear. Not a resort for couples...this is a family resort.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

Grounds and beach were immaculate. Gorgeous rooms and great food. Excellent dining choices. Resort was a bit bigger than I was used to so took a couple of days to get used to it. They had trains to get you around but they could have used a few more at dinner time
