Palma Real: excellent location!

Nice relaxing surroundings. The quality of the food seemed to improve on a daily basis. The beach was awesome! Lots of nice restaurants in Varadero and safe to wander about. Visited Varadero 9 years ago and would go back again. Lovely vacation.

Melia Las Americas: Fabulous resort

This was our first time to Varadero and 5th time in Cuba. Love the weather and love the people. We have decided that we will be back to Varadero and back to this resort in the future. The resort was very clean, staff were very friendly, rooms were very clean, beach was amazing!!! Pools were very clean although they could have used a painting. Food was great. Bernard is a very personable individual. Truly enjoyed staying at this resort. We really couldn't find any fault with our whole experience at this resort.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Resort

We meet "Super Sexy" Nancy and Adrian, they were fantastic entertainment reps by the pool and beach. We have a wonderful time at this resort, staff was friendly. The food in the main buffet was okay, needed to be a bit more variety.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Not worth it

The resort is way over rated. The food is disgusting, the service is poor, the bed sheets and linen stink, some staff are ignorant and not courteous at all especially at the pool bar and the restaurant, they have an attitude that they are the best, the locals and tour guides are always milking the Canadians for tips they don't deserve, the hotel is cutting back on supplies and repairs and starting to show signs of aging. Palma Real: Worth & Affordable hotel

Its a fantastic trip for my family. Rooms are clean and cozy. Staff and services are friendly and did not feel much pushy for tips. Swimming pools are good sizes with well maintenance. Shows are professionally presented and neatly organized. Shortfalls are: swimming pools maintenance hours should be adjusted to make them more accessible (currently before 9am and after 6pm). Buffet restaurant food is repetitive. The Italian a la carte restaurant has no air conditioning that make it not enjoyable [... read more]. Front desk check in/out processes are tedious that could be shortened!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Horrible Service!

Worst all inclusive experience ever. From the flight to the the resort. Horrible customer service everywhere. Flight had the worst attendants I have ever experienced. Stay away from Sunwing and Memories.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing vacation at the Royalton!

The Royalton Hicacos is a beautiful hotel situated just outside of Varadero. The hotel staff are amazing, catering to our every need. We were treated like royalty by all the staff who worked very hard to make sure our two weeks were relaxing and memorable. Blau Varadero: Lovely resort!!

our time at the resort. The room was very comfortable, clean and had a nice view over the sea, beach and pool was nice and clean, food is good, international restaurant “à la carte” is a must to visit, the best we've seen in Cuba, and this is our 7th time in Cuba. We also liked the coffee in the pool area. Friendly staff made a wonderful stay at Blau Varadero, we will definitely go back. A big thank to the staff and management. Roc Arenas Doradas: Just what we expected!

The place is a little outdated but they are currently working on updating certain areas. Overall very clean! Was surprised at the food, ate in the al la cart very tasty, the buffet was bland but we had brought our own hot sauce to spice it up. The staff were very nice. Entertainment wasn't bad either. For what we paid a nice place and would go there again.

Melia Las Americas: Location and service

The hotel location was perfect, beach and food awesome! The staff very friendly. 3rd time in Cuba and first time at the Melia Las America and for sure not our last. The price for July was too high and was disappointed with the room (2 single beds) with not quit an ocean view even though we paid extra for it. That was the only point I would improve on.

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful Resort!

Nice areas , beautiful vegetation and views, clean , nice attention . Food poor quality except for the fruits. Exceptional beaches and everybody so friendly. Excellent attention from the plain as well and all really well organized. No mayor complains at all.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: ok

food was good, size is ok not too big, ocean was lovely, rooms had cockroaches and mold, pool was moldy, too. No comparison to the Iberostar Varadero where we stayed in November. shows were not too good. i didnt like the drinks either, nothing good other than beer. coffees were ok.

Sol Palmeras: Fabulous Resort Amazing Staff

Arriving at the hotel check in was a breeze, we had requested 2 bungalows side by side in a central area as we were traveling with kids 8, 15 and 19 we were very happy to have exactly that! The bungalows were spotless and kept clean our whole stay. Fresh towels and supplies daily, thank you Dasey! We did have a problem with the air conditioner in one of the bungalows which was fixed within 2 hours. Over all the food was excellent. Omelettes made exactly the way you want! The staff at the hotel were pleasant and very helpful with information we needed they never made us wait for anything. From the ones who drove the train, Jimmy to the guys at the lounge bar Carlos, Rene, Alain, Fernando and Francisco in the snack kitchen. The grounds were always being maintained and cleaned. (amazing how disrespectful people are when it's not their own?) The lounges at the pool and beach were in great condition. Yuneil and Orlando who looked after the pool and beach were amazing, always had the perfect amount of shade and sun for the lounge! The beach towels were in excellent condition and Alexis always had a smile. The activities were endless, dancing with Yamile by the pool to volleyball on the beach, basketball on the court or playing ping-pong or darts! Madeline served the best ice cream! And of course the front desk, the guys who drove the carts and the ones in the kitchen, the staff at Sol Palmeras did a fabulous job! Our family had an amazing time and I highly recommend going.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Passable - if your laid back

I booked this resort based on a visit at Memories in Santa Maria. This actual resort was not like the one in Santa Maria. The management was supportive and tried to fix things as soon as you notified them so that. The food was bare minimum and over half the things in various places were broken on specific days of the week. Ie. The fryer for fries, the toaster the cappuccino machine. Also they would "run out" of a lot of items just 30min after a restaurant opened. The a la carte: NOT worth it. Th [... read more]eir computer was broken the 1st two days we were there so they gave us bookings to the beach buffet which had nothing but dried over fried chicken and rock hard pork chops. Good luck at breakfast. Omelet station is PACKED. No variety what so ever. The kids club was amazing. I paid extra for extended hours and also hired the same staff member to come to our room to babysit for the night. They had fun activities such as the beach party which rocked, as well as the foam party in the pool and on the beach. The beach was nice we went snorkling paid the $20 cpu but was totally worth it. Not one of our worst vacations, but not one of the best either. We are quiet laid back so we let a whole lot of other things slide.

Playa Caleta: Three Star

Nice staff and clean rooms. The food was Cuban standard and you could always find something to eat. Elevators were very slow and there were only two working. Had an ocean view which was very nice. Would not return to this hotel because of the elevators.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Very Good. Definitely would come again.Thanks all!

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful Grounds - TERRIBLE FOOD

Hotel - Really nice Beach - Very nice - beautiful Coral reefs and Fish right at your access Pool - Very Nice Groove - VERY QUIET Staff - Very helpful and friendly Food - REALLY TERRIBLE!!!! Really too bad- thats the major reason that I would not return

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Amazing Resort

El Patriarca exceeded our expectations. A medium sized resort where you can find everything within walking distance. No need to wait for carts. Bars, disco, cafe lounges were buzzing with happy people all the time. The Shows were great. Rooms were spacious and clean. The food was amazing. Although there were 3 restaurants, i preferred the buffet where you can find everything you want. For breakfasts, there were fresh eggs, omlettes prepared infront of you, pan cakes, vienoiserie, pan cakes, fren [... read more]ch toast, beans, potatoes, and the most amazing fresh juices. The fresh fruits were to die for. We had mangos, papayas, gouyav etc.. Activities were plenty. The cuban people are very nice, although they are poor, they have a lot of pride. Very accommodating and made our stay very enjoyable. I would like to send koudos to one employee Norisbel who was serving with a smile, more than 25 guests at one time by herself.

Melia Las Antillas: Love the Cuban People!!!

We had a great time. It did get a bit hot, as it was the end of July. Good was better than I expected, and the staff was great. Our room smelled a bit musky, but, for me, it was no big deal. This really is a 3 star room, but the resort would be 4 Star.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great resort for families

The pool with a slide is a plus for families with kids. Food was great, but our kids lived on bread and butter the whole two weeks we were there. The beach is amazing. The room needs upgrading: paint peeling off.
