Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A Great Resort

This was our third trip to this resort and we would go again. A smaller boutique property in the jungle, is a more relaxed oasis. Staff were great as was the food. The rooms are large, well appointed and have the capacity to be downright cold if that is your preference. Great Resort !

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great visit

Many evening restaurant options. Buffet had an assortment of foods. Really enjoyed the Greek restaurant. Lots of shops available. great 2 double bed room and sister stayed in a king room - both with terraces. Walk in shower amazing. Lots of water play options for my kid however lazy river needs more jets to keep flow. Wish there were snacks in the room and wished for evening swimming

Grand Oasis Riviera: Messy check in

Grand Oasis Hotel is the last resort in that part of the Mayan Riviera. The drive is smooth and a little over an hour, but the service is outstanding. The resort is new, It has a unique design and impressive architecture. The rooms are located in different areas, connected to the main building with little paths. The resort is kept clean,  [... read more]and the bathrooms are state-of-the-art. It has a variety of pools and bars, activity areas, and a fancy cafe open 24 hr. One can play pool there, enjoy a chit-chat over a cappuccino, espresso, sweet delights, or relax and watch TV. No alcohol is served in that cafe, and it seemed to be a preferred spot for families. The service in the buffet is the friendliest, The food is excellent. We loved their buffet, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it was so much fun with the variety of dishes. No need for fancy dressing. However, the check-in was challenging. There was no Sunwing rep. I've been in other destinations where the rep meets everyone at the airport and, upon arrival in the hotel, holds an orientation session where the stay is explained in detail and the return to the airport is set so everybody can enjoy their time, with no confusion, worries about the departure date. Sunwing rep was available if needed assistance. That is a key moment to have a relaxing holiday, and guarantee to visit again. On arrival at the Lobby, the front desk looked like a flea market experiencing an emergency. It took almost 2 hours to fill out the forms. Everyone else was popping in from all sides, with a simple question, and they were attended to first. The basics, which were supposed to be in the fridge, were missing, not even water. I went to the reception 3 times to ask for assistance, and only on day 3, they delivered two bottles of water. This is happening upon arrival, and I began to feel anxious. There were other issues, like how to book the shuttle back to the airport, and no help with this request either. I was looking for the Sunwing rep to assist me and stop the circus created by the reception management. When I asked about a Sunwing representative, the answer I was given was that this hotel doesn't have a Sunwing rep. Overall, I liked the resort, the food, the live entertainment, and the unique pools spread all around. I believe that staying in Grand Oasis could have been a different experience in the presence of a Sunwing rep to assist the guests. Be aware of a front desk employee who can make you regret traveling to Mexico. It happens on check-in when you are pressed to upgrade your room for an average of an additional $600 a week. It seemed to me that the front desk management controls how the operations should go. One must be firm and resist the sales ad vances. It is important to remember not to leave the resort. I would go back there because the resort is wonderful, offers a variety of activities. It is great for couples and families. Enjoying it shouldn't be affected by the poor customer service at the front desk but that was a result of a lack of reps. I met the front desk manager, a quite intimidating lady. If there were a Sunwing rep, the stay at Grand Oasis would not be so stressful.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: The best 4 day vacation to recharge

The resort was everything we expected for our short 4 day stay. We needed a recharge and it was perfect. Although small, it offered the amenities we needed as well as assistance in understanding our Prestige membership. We are not beach people so we did not feel we missed out at all. At times, the pool was cool -- refreshing but would have been best to be a little warmer. The food and customer service was top notch. We enjoyed all restaurants equally. The buffet was nice for breakfast and lot [... read more]s of variety. We felt safe and taken care of -- went off the resort once for a golf game and the amazing weather helped. The best was the bracelets -- no more key fob or card to search for when going into your room.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort

Love the Bahía chain lots of Activities- only complaint is booking the restaurants - you have to book the week before you leave on the app- if arrive at resort cannot book 3 or 4 restaurants- they should provide enough spots for everyone to get. All their restaurants in

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Never Disappoints

We returned to the Bahía Príncipe Luxury Sian Ka’an for the 6th time and again, we were not disappointed! Sure, the rooms could use an update but they are clean, everything works and have everything we need so what more could we ask for! The staff continue to amaze us in their ability to remember us year after year (with some gaps in there), it just feels like home! Catalonia Royal Tulum: Awesome place for rest and relaxation

I highly recommend this resort for anyone who is looking for a chill and relaxed resort in a tropical jungle like setting with great food and wonderful people who are always go that extra mile for your comfort. The food was great. We loved the food choices as we are both vegetarians, we had no issues as they had quite a variety. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Top Notch Resort

This resort provided excellent service, beautiful rooms and the food was amazing. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The resort is very clean and offers many options for food, drinks and entertainment. The moment we arrived, staff greeted us with fresh face cloths and a welcome drink. The attention to detail and great service continued through our entire visit. JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Great Resort

Hotel: Amazing Staff: Amazing Housekeeping: Amazing Pool: good vibes, guitar singer was very talented, towel games were a little annoying, as some guests took pool chairs along with cabanas Food: Above Average, the buffet is always a good bet for breakfast and lunch, gala night was a favourite Restaurants: Average Room Service: average, slow to receive food, 45 min + Golf: above par, very nice rental clubs Bar / Lounge: amazing and always had the Stanley Cup Playoffs on, bingo and kara [... read more]oke were fun. Overall I feel the price point is slightly high, would stay there again without hesitation.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Beautiful resort

Resort was amazing, we had a wonderful and already planning to go again.. The entertainment and activities were alot of fun, and food absolutely delicious. Rooms and grounds were always neat and tidy..highly recommend going to Ocean Coral Turquesa!!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Love it

We loved everything about this resort. The food was awesome and the staff were great. We would definitely return here again. This was our second time this year. We have been telling all our friends about this resort

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

It would be great to have an adults only resort in Playa Del Carmen. You have so many lovely resorts it would be great to have one just for adults. Far too many small children (screaming at the pool and during dinners). I don’t like to have to babysit other people’s children’s around the pool.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Best vacation ever

This is our second time at ORP. And we will come back again for sure. Very happy with their services and the food is great. My daughter loves the kids club, we have been to other resorts and she always talks about the kids club here at the Ocean Riviera Paradise. This is her favourite kids club of all the resorts and she loves to spend time with the staff and the babysitters. The only down side of this place is the beach is a little bit rocky. But swimming shoes will help with that.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: First time in Mexico

What a great resort. The staff were extra friendly and entertainment was great. Food was amazing. Very clean and manicured property. Beds were extra comfy…..definitely a thumbs up for the bed confines! Definitely recommend this resort!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Nice resort but definitely not a five star

I stayed at this resort from March 31st to April 7th. I do believe in doing reviews as i do use them to determine if i want to go to them. THE GOOD- simple, easy check in and out, nice property and close to the airport to reduce your bus time (both to and from). I was upgraded to ground floor with swim out area but didn't use. I felt the swim area was not practical for our use. Also too close to your neighbor so no real privacy if you wanted it. Buffet was very large and lots of variety [... read more] of foods which i consider standard to most other resorts. The service and staff in the buffet was very good. Not sure if many people tip the staff but they do a very good job. THE BAD - the terrible smell in most areas is present. i did see this in previous reviews but not sure what causes this. It also appeared in the buffet on one side. Pool chairs and umbrellas is a serious problem. This is a problem for most of the day as this resort does not manage towels with towel cards. You can get as many towels as you want and reserve chairs in various areas. I did notice that many of the chairs next to us were never used but had towels placed on them early in the morning. This seems to be a problem in most resorts but more noticeable at this one. I did walk to the Diamond Club pool and Hideaway adult area and it seemed very crowded and also no chairs available early in the day. It was very windy all week so there were not many people at the beach. There were many chairs available which explains the crowded pools and lack of chairs. As this is a very large hotel, i am not sure if this problem goes away. The process for booking the A la carts is very disappointing. this is done by using an App on your phone and really doesn't work. When i tried to book, my option was for dinner at the steak house at 9 or 9:30pm. Really doesn't work for me. When i walked by the Hunter steak house the next day, i asked a staff member that was outside the restaurant (it is a buffet in the morning as well) the nice lady said only bookings can be done by the app. An employee that was at a guest services stand near by stopped me and asked me what my problem was. When i explained to him that the booking process for meals sucks, he made a call and booked me in for dinner that night at 6:30pm for 2 of us. When i asked how this could happen, he explained to me the Prime Resort sellers get some bookings for people that they can offer the "time share" features for. I did make it clear that i would never get involved in this offering. I did end up going to dinner that night and it was good but not great. I also was disappointed with the bartenders at the pool area i stayed at, as the service was not very good for a so called "5 STAR" resort. At times, there was only one bartender working which made no sense based on the number of people at or in the pool. Also I did ask specifically for Canadian Club Whiskey many times and it was never provided. I do think that this resort wants to push the cheap drinks to guests and save money. I did find out that this resort is shutting down in the summer for renovations but i felt the property was acceptable, but not the service. I have stayed at a 5 star Royalton before but can confirm this is not one. I was also offered the Royalton Prime program but ended that conversation very quickly as i don't believe in making a commitment to a "time share program" that makes it difficult to terminate. I am not sure I would give this resort another try down the road.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Resort

The resort was well kept and had a welcoming atmosphere and kept clean. All staff were professional, hardworking and friendly. Hotel rooms were cleaned and well supplied with towels etc. Beach was kept clean all day long. Service was very good.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Another great visit!

This was our seventh visit to the VIM, where we usually connect with friends we have made on past visits. On this trip, for some friends, it was their first trip, and we surprised them with our arrival on the last days of their stay! When we asked them about the resort, they said, "We get it" when we talk about why we return. Beautiful grounds, great service, really good food!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: A Wonderful But Rocky Resort, wrong time of year!

The hotel is beautiful, the meals excellent and staff very nice. However, we went for the beach. It was rocky, wavy and lots of seagrass. Our room request was not met, double beds. We had to move three times. Then the room we were given was adjoining and very noisy with party guys next door. Third room was excellent near the adult pool. However, no food around that area, except for nachos which lasted 10 minutes. We had to argue to get the restaurants. Unless you pre-book 10 days by app which we [... read more] did not know then were not able to access. Even then, many complaints about not getting the restaurants wanted.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Definitely 5 start Luxury Resort

Very clean, very comfortable,and great food! We had a master suite overlooking the pool so it got very noisy from noon to 5pm with the DJ and pool activities, but there is a 'Quiet Zone' with lounge chairs and cabanas (closer to the beach) that suited us well so just stayed there. Master suite was large with dining table for 6. TV in living room and bedroom which was nice. Balcony jacuzzi was appealing but took 30-45 min to fill up if you had the patience. Wasn't thrilled about making reservations for dinner as the first few days most things were booked until 8-8:30pm but I was able to book 3 nights at a time so later in the week we were able to get 7-7:30pm no problem. Lots of variety and something for everyone on each menu. If you're not a RESERVE guest, your only option for breakfast is buffet (which is actually very good) or room service. If you are RESERVE you have another restaurant near the Quiet Zone that is open for breakfast and lunch. Several restaurants in the family resort next door (linked by a hallway) were definitely worth visiting. Shout out to Oliver our waiter in Flora's - best service we received. Totally attentive, funny and made the dinner experience that much better. Pool bar and restaurant were great, good food and fast service. We would definitely return to this resort, but have our room in a quieter location.
